The Adventures of Max and Leo: Camp may be over, but not the fun
Max was hanging out with Brian and Leo in the dorm, the three winding down after a very busy day as they were in their last day of camp.
"Well, we leave for home tomorrow," Leo said. "I'm going to miss hanging out with some of the campers here."
"Yeah, I'm gonna miss hanging out with your best friend," Brian said. "It feels great to have made a friend at camp. I had hoped to do it this year."
"Well, you got your wish," Leo said. "Not to mention the fact that you two might be spending time together even after camp is over."
"Yeah, I'm already excited about it," Max said. "Hopefully, the memories will continue beyond the campgrounds."
"Hopefully so," Leo said.
The camp counselor came in and said, "There's a call for Brian Fulton."
"That's me," Brian said. "I'll be right back guys."
Brian left Max and Leo alone in the dorm . . .
A few minutes later, Brian came back excited.
"Max, exciting news," Brian said.
"What is it?" Max asked.
"I'll be going to Portland when I leave camp so our fun is not over yet," Brian said.
"That is awesome," Max said. "Is your brother coming to get you or something?"
"He sure is," Brian said. "Are you going to go to Leo's house?"
"I am," Max said. "I'll be staying there until school starts and maybe even beyond that."
"Awesome," Brian said. "If you two are going back to work, then I guess I can see you at the arcade place."
"You will, we start back the day after we get back to Leo's," Max said. "The latest, greatest arcade games are the Pole Position games, one and two, the Super Mario Bros. arcade game and now, we have a Mortal Kombat arcade game."
"Oh, so you do have some Namco brand arcade games," Brian said. "I genuinely enjoy them."
"Yeah, they always sell pretty well," Max said. "Dig Dug still tops the list in terms of most played arcade games in our work place."
"Nice, I'll have to look for it when I get there," Brian said.
"Don't worry, I'll let you and Max have some fun outside of the arcade," Leo said. "Where does your brother live exactly?"
"He actually lives just across the street from a school called Clara Barton Middle School," Brian said.
"That's where Max and I went to middle school at," Leo said. "We graduated a couple of months ago."
"That's really awesome," Brian said. "So you two will be starting high school in a couple of weeks then?"
"We sure are," Leo said. "We're kind of excited. I'm thinking about taking more computer classes."
"And I'm still thinking about what I want to do elective wise besides the gym," Max said.
"I'm sure you'll come up with something," Brian said. "You've got quite a few talents, I'm sure."
"Well, I do like to write, but I didn't see any Creative Writing classes," Max said. "So, I'm not sure of what I want to do elective wise."
"Well, don't worry, I can help you out with that," Leo said. "I know there are other things that you are good at, Max."
"Hopefully, there will be something that I like," Max said.
"I'm sure there will be if we look hard enough," Leo said. "Well, I guess we better call it a night so we can rest up for the trip home."
"Yeah, we better," Brian said. "Max, do you want to do the honors of taking off my shoes one more time?"
"I'd love to," Max said.
Brian went to his bed and sat there. Max sat at Brian's feet, untied Brian's shoes, took Brian's shoes and socks off and laid them aside.
"Thanks, Max," Brian said and then lied on his bed and got under the blankets as Max stood up.
"Sure thing," Max said. "Want me to do the same for you, Leo?"
"Sure," Leo said and then sat down on his bed. Max sat down at Leo's feet, untied Leo's shoes, took Leo's shoes and socks off and laid them aside. Max got up as Leo lied on his bed and got under the blankets.
"Thanks, Max," Leo said. "I hope you rest well."
"I hope you and Brian do, too," Max said.
Max then lied down on his bed and got under the blankets . . .
The next day, Brian, Leo and Max gathered at the pick-up area for one final conversation before leaving for Portland.
"Well, I would say that this is it, but we'll be continuing our adventures in Portland," Leo said.
"We sure will, at least for a few days," Brian said. "Well, if I don't see you later today, I guess I'll see you at your work place tomorrow."
"Well, what are you going to do when you get to Portland?" Max asked.
"Well, I might get me a nap, but then after that, I might go to the park for a little bit," Brian said. "I take it by you wearing your swimming suit home that you might go to Leo's pool to rest."
"I plan on it," Max said.
"Yeah, he's there pretty often when he stays with me," Leo said. "He either swims or lies on a float."
"Oh, nice," Brian said. "My brother has a pool, too. His son loves the water just as much as Max does."
"Sounds like Max might be picking himself up another water buddy soon," Leo said. "We met a little girl at the beach after Max rescued her from a rip current and they've become pretty good friends."
"Oh, nice," Brian said. "Well, Max will definitely be fast friends with my nephew for sure."
"Well, I look forward to meeting him then," Max said.
"Do you want us to exchange numbers for when you want to call us?" Leo asked.
"Sure, I'll give you mine and my brother's numbers," Brian said.
Brian and Leo wrote the phone numbers and gave them to each other. Brian then exchanged hugs with Leo and Max.
"See you both in Portland," Brian said.
"Alright, see you there," Leo said.
Brian got in the car with his brother while Leo and Max got in the car with Leo's dad and they started off for Portland . . .
Later that evening, while Max was relaxing on a float that was sitting on Leo's pool, Leo came out to where Max is.
"Hey, Max, how's it going?" Leo asked.
"It's going great, just woke up from a nap about fifteen minutes ago," Max said.
"Awesome . . . well, Brian just called the house," Leo said.
"Cool, how is he doing?" Max asked.
"He's doing alright," Leo said. "He wants to know if you can come to his brother's house tomorrow after we get out of work."
"That'd be great," Max said. "Is his brother coming to pick me up or something?"
"He sure is," Leo said. "Plus, Brian's nephew is eager to meet you."
"Brian must have told him about me," Max said.
"Yeah and he's really excited," Leo said. "Well, I hope you have fun with him."
"I hope so, too," Max said.
Leo left Max alone to continue relaxing on the float . . .
The next day, Leo and Max were at the arcade when Brian came to the arcade.
"Hey, guys," Brian said.
"Hey, Brian, is your brother here?" Max asked.
"He sure is," Brian said. "We've been up and down the mall."
"I guess you wanted to shop and get your walking in as well," Max said.
"I sure have," Brian said. "Well, are you ready to go?"
"I sure am," Max said. "Let's go."
"Have fun, you both," Leo said.
"We will," Max said.
Brian and Max left the arcade . . .
Brian and Max entered into the bedroom Brian stays in when he spends time with his brother.
"Well, have a seat on the bed," Brian said.
Max sat down on the bed. Brian sat down at Max's feet, untied Max's shoes, took Max's shoes and socks off and laid them aside.
"Thanks, Brian," Max said.
"Sure thing," Brian said. "You are wearing your swimming suit under those clothes, right?"
"I sure am," Max said and then he got up to take his sweatshirt and pants off, unveiling the Super Swimmer swimming suit.
"Nice," Brian said. "Well, ready to take my shoes off?"
"I sure am," Max said.
Brian sat down on the bed. Max sat down at Brian's feet, untied Brian's shoes, took Brian's shoes and socks off and laid them aside.
"Thanks, Max," Brian said. "Well, I'm sure you want to go to the pool."
"I sure am," Max said. "Did you want to join me?"
"I sure do," Brian said. "Let me get my swimming suit on and I'll join you."
"Alright, sounds great," Max said. "Is your nephew here?"
"Yeah, he's in his bedroom if you want to see him," Brian said. "It's right next to this one."
"Alright," Max said and then he went next door to see Brian's nephew.
"Hey, there," Brian's nephew said. "I see you're in your swimming suit."
"Yeah, your uncle and I are about to go to the pool," Max said. "I heard you were eager to meet me so here I am."
"Well, I'm Thomas," Thomas said.
"And I'm Max," Max said. "It's great to meet you."
"It's great to meet you, too," Thomas said. "I hope you and Uncle Brian have fun in the pool."
"I will," Max said. "Did you want to join us? I can take your shoes off for you."
"Sure," Thomas said.
Max went to where Thomas was, sat down at his feet, unstrapped Thomas' shoes, took Thomas' shoes and socks off and laid them on the floor.
"Thank you," Thomas said.
"Sure thing," Max said. "Do you want me to get your swimming suit for you?"
"No, I'll get it," Thomas said.
Max and Thomas got up and Thomas went to one of his drawers to get his swimming suit out.
"Alright, I'm going to go to the pool," Max said. "Come on in as soon as you are ready."
"Okay," Thomas said.
Max left the bedroom and went out the back door and got in the pool. While Max was swimming, Thomas and Brian came out and joined Max in the pool.
"Hey, guys," Max said.
"Hey, Max," Brian said. "Are you looking forward to spending the evening with me?"
"I sure am," Max said. "I look forward to the fun we're going to have while you're here."
"Me, too," Brian said.
"So, how long are you going to stay here?" Max asked.
"For about two weeks," Brian said. "I'll be going back to my home city just in time for school to begin."
"That is awesome," Max said. "I hope you have fun with your brother and his family."
"I hope so, too," Brian said. "Thomas, you should go give Max a hug."
"Okay," Thomas said and then he swam over to Max and hugged him. Max hugged back.
"Thanks, Thomas," Max said. "Now, let's swim."
Max and Thomas broke the hug and the three began swimming in the pool.
