Lessons In Love: Chapter Fifty-Nine: Fire In Your New Shoes (Part 3)
Stephen and Victor were sitting on the floor in the common room of the Kamar taj. It's where they were supposed to go, and it was where they always went to get some food.
The porridge stuff wasn't... horrible.
They both ate without any complaint, as they looked across the room at the older Stephen. He was simply waiting for the others to arrive. The Sorcerer Supreme was deep in thought about a few things.
He was pretty quiet. His arms were softly crossed and his focus was on the floor.
The younger Stephen started wondering if he was "working" inside his head. He was being taught about all of the responsibilities that a Sorcerer Supreme must do.
Baby Stephen kept staring at him as he took in the food from his spoon.
Outside the common room, Baby Steve headed out. He walked out of the small room he was in and he noticed that his older self was heading his way.
The young one smiled. The two blondes stopped short and one of them noticed a notebook that was being displayed.
"I brought you a gift. I thought about giving it to you earlier on, but focus needed to be outward. Not in."
Meaning that Big Steve wanted his younger self to be more expressive as he trained, instead of reflective. Now it was time for him to reflect and document.
Big Steve kinda understood how his own mind worked. He gave a soft smile as his younger self accepted the gift. It was a journal for him to sketch in or write down all of his adventures.
Baby Steve felt really good in that moment. He smiled at the gift and he brought it up to his waist.
"Thank you. I had one. But it was left behind in Stephen's car. I haven't been able to sketch anything that is here."
Baby Steve looked around. He thought the Kamar taj was a beautiful place. It was quiet, peaceful, and something that he wanted to draw very badly.
Steve never wanted to forget it. He snapped his focus back to his older self, then they both headed toward the food. They walked in and the older Steve stopped at the door.
He told the young one that he'd catch up with him in a minute. Big Steve needed to speak to someone, and he figured it was best to wait outside the room.
The younger Steve thanked him again for the gift. He headed in and the older Steve was glad to see that he held an honest look of joy.
He wanted his younger self to be happy and not confused or depressed about the serum. Back in the day, Big Steve had a very difficult time figuring it all out.
He sighed those thoughts off, and he patiently waited for someone to show up. His little red corvette showed up first. Steve watched him gently land. The older Tony looked back to see if he was followed, and Steve could see a bit of worry on his face.
That made the soldier curious. Tony headed in his direction and the two of them exchanged smiles. Those smiles got a little flirty as Tony stepped closer toward his main man.
"He's ..."
Big Tony looked back out there for his younger self. He could tell that his energy wasn't that far away, and he tried to stop himself from feeling overly concerned.
"He'll be fine."
Big Steve had seen a Tony Stark outshine the darkest of times. He knew him to be the ultimate surviver. So, the soldier boy wasn't concerned at all.
Tony playfully arched a brow and he continued to smile at his main man. He thought about giving him a kiss. They both wanted to, and they swayed about in that moment.
Then Baby Tony arrived, so they both looked in his direction instead. The young one looked depressed, but he played it off and removed his suit.
Baby Tony looked at his older self. He glanced at them both for a moment and he gave them a quiet greeting. Steve and Tony watched him walk into the common room. He didn't say anything further to them.
Baby Tony walked into the space. He saw the older Stephen first. He took his normal spot on the floor and he skipped the food.
Baby Steve looked to his left. He watched Tony's behavior and he thought about moving closer to him. Steve wasn't sure if it was a good idea, so he waited it out.
Baby Stephen looked to his right. He had similar thoughts about what he was seeing. Tony looked pretty upset, and the would-be-sorcerer wanted to know why.
Those thoughts were cut short because the older Tony walked in. He cornered the grand wizard in the room, and he started quietly speaking to the older Stephen.
Baby Tony looked up at them. He inwardly wanted to watch his older self like a hawk. He needed to figure out the answer that was DENIED TWICE.
His older self was naturally flirtatious. He was confident and the young one could see all of that in his face. Right there he watched him talk to the older Stephen.
The Sorcerer Supreme looked up from their chat and he gave Big Tony a quick eye roll.
Before anything was said in the room, the final member showed up. Clea Strange was slowly on her way. She returned her younger self to the Dark Dimension, then received a message from Stephen.
Steve was at the door when she arrived, and the look on his face made her completely stop in her step.
She looked inside the door of the common room, and she listened to the soldier speak.
He said that he wanted to talk to her. Clea stared at the bowl of food that was in Victor's hand. The sight of the food made her swallow slowly. The thought of food or eating made Clea feel a little ill.
She closed her eyes and let the moment pass.
Steve mentioned that he didn't want to talk there. He wanted them to leave the Kamar taj together. Clea opened her eyes and she gave him a gentle response.
She told him that would be fine, and she left the grounds with Steve.
The rest of the group waited for some sort of graduation to occur. Baby Tony wondered if they'd get diplomas. His mood was shifting a bit as he sat there.
He didn't look at Steve or Stephen. The brunette kept to himself and imagined them all in stupid caps and gowns. He was getting bored and lonely on that floor.
SO, whuuuut the hell?
