House of Bird-Nap:
Amber was still unconscious. All the residents were worried, even Jerome. Everyone was standing over Amber. Mr. Winkler told everyone to give Amber some space. Amber slowly began to wake up.
"Ouch, my head," said Amber. "What happened?" She asked.
"You fainted," said Mr. Winkler.
While Amber recovered a bit. When Mick's father was at school, Mr. Sweet gave him a tour. The two came from the drama room. Both men stood at the doorway and looked in. Mr. Sweet thought they were preparing for the school play.
"Don't stand there, call a doctor," said Aaron
"What's going on here?" Asked Mr. Sweet
"Amber fainted. She hasn't eaten anything in almost a week," said Nina
"Fiona I have a chocolate bar in my bag, grab it," said Mr. Winkler
"I will do that," said Fiona.
Fiona grabbed the chocolate bar from Mr. Winkler's bag and gave it to Amber, who immediately started to eat it.
"So you see, that kind of diets are worse for your health then you first think," said Mr. Sweet
"What do you say?" Asked Mick, who that it was not right what Mr. Sweet said. "It's all Victor's fault," he said.
"Mick," said Mr. Campbell, trying to calm his son down
"Mick, is right you know," said Amber.
"Why is it Victor's fault?" Asked Mr. Campbell.
"Ever since Trudy got fired, our house feels like a prison," said Patricia
"And where is Victor now?" asked Mr. Campbell.
"Probably in the cellar, making plans to make the house look even more like a prison," said Patricia.
"We don't get anything normal to eat," said Caitlin.
"And Victor has also put up security cameras everywhere. So now we have zero privacy," said Mara.
"And last night he placed a fence and put giant locks on the doors," said Alfie
Yeah, we're trapped like animals in a cage, said Otis.
"Children can exaggerate so much," said Mr. Sweet.
None of the residents appreciated Mr. Sweet's comment.
"Dad you gotta believe us," begged Mick
"Yes of course," said Mr. Campbell. "Maybe we should take a look?" He suggested.
"Yes, I'll call Victor, to say we're coming," said Mr. Sweet
"We don't have to do that, we'll go right away," said Mr. Campbell.
Aaron and Fabian helped Amber to get up. Aaron supported Amber, because she was still a bit too weak to walk herself. Nina took Amber's bag and together with the other residents, Mick's father and Mr Sweet, they went to the house.
In the meantime in the house Victor was busy in the office when he heard the doorbell. Victor walked down to open the door. Victor saw that it was Mr. Sweet and Mick's father. The two men walked in, followed by the rest of the residents. Both men were totally bewildered how it looked in the house.
"See this is what we mean, he's locking us up," said Alfie
"Still think we're exaggerating Mr. Sweet?" Asked Caitlin.
"What is all of this meant for Victor?" Asked Mr. Sweet.
"Children need to know their limits and I don't want people sneaking around the house every night
"And what if one night a fire breaks out," said Mr. Campbell.
"Yes, that fence has to go," said Patricia.
"And those security cameras," said Jerome.
"Victor, I pay a great price for the wellbeing of my son. And it looks more like a pig's den," said Mr. Campbell.
"It seems worse than it is," said Victor
"Victor, you are looking very hard for a replacement for Trudy?" Asked Mr. Sweet.
"I've one interview after another. There are so many good choices," said Victor.
"Yes, Yes. You can cancel them all. I want someone to keep an good eye on my son and his friends. Someone from my own staff," said, Mr. Campbell.
Suddenly the door opened and Trudy stood in the door opening.
"Hello my darlings," said Trudy.
"Trudy!" Shouted Fiona, in excitement.
"Surprise!" Said Trudy.
"Yes, after your positive reviews, she seems to me really that she can't be missed here," said Mr. Campbell.
The residents celebrated that Trudy was back. Victor was not happy about it. And Victor also had to promise Mr. Sweet to remove the cameras and gate. Mick thanked his father and Mick's father left again.
An half an hour later, the residents were sitting at the table and they all had a plate full of French fries.
"Three cheers for Trudy," said Aaron
"Hip-Hip Hooray, Hip-Hip Hooray, Hip-Hip Hooray! Cheered all the residents.
"Oh that's so sweet of you," said Trudy.
"We're really glad to have you back Trudy," said Nina.
"Yeah we almost starved to death without you," said Amber.
"I am also very happy to be with you darlings again," said Trudy
"Trudy do you have more chips?" Asked Alfie
"Sure and if you darlings aren't too stuffed, I can give you a piece of my chocolate cake," said Trudy.
The residents took another piece of cake and then went back to school. And school left everything smoothly.
The next day, the residents had finished breakfast and were ready to go school. When they entered the hall way, they saw the security cameras being removed.
"So Victor, it's back to good old fashioned room searches and peering through keyholes, eh?" Joked Jerome
"Don't you have classes to go to?" Asked Victor feeling angry.
"Hey Victor! Have a nice day! joked Alfie.
"I may not have my cameras any more. But I'm still watching you, remember that," said Victor
The residents left the house. Victor was not happy and headed to his office. He began talking to Corbierre. And he told Corbierre that he had a plan to show the residents that he was still in charge.
Two hours later. Mr. Sweet was sitting in his office grading some papers. Suddenly his phone rang and he picked it up.
"Hello Mr. Sweet speaking," said Mr. Sweet.
"Eric," said Victor.
"Ah, Victor how can I help you?" Asked Mr. Sweet.
"Those kids have really gone too far this time," said Victor
"What is it?" Asked Mr. Sweet
"I'm sure that one of them has stolen a precious piece from me," said Victor.
"Corbierre?" Asked Mr. Sweet.
"Yes, just disappeared just like that," said Victor.
"Don't worry Victor I'll find out who took him," said Mr. Sweet.
Mr. Sweet hung up the phone. But what didn't know was that Corrbiere wasn't stolen and Victor just made that up. Victor took Corbierre to hid him somewhere.
In the meantime, the Anubis residents were in Mr. Winkler's class. Mr. Winkler was explaining something when Mr. Sweet came in.
"Sorry Jason I have to interrupt your class," said Mr. Sweet.
"What is going on?" Asked Mr. Winkler.
"I need to talk to the Anubis residents," said Mr. Sweet
"Okay class is over soon, that means the rest of the students can take an early break," said Mr. Winkler
Mr. Winkler and a few other students left the room. Mr. Sweet stood in front of the class.
"There may be a thief among us. Someone stole Victor's raven," said Mr. Sweet.
"Corbierre," said Alfie
"Did I hear a confession?" Asked Mr. Sweet.
"No way sir. I wouldn't touched that beast in a thousand years, so don't come to me," said Alfie.
"Why would we steal Corbierre?" Asked Fabian. "I don't see the logic in that," he said
"That seems pretty clear to me, to tease Victor. Don't deny it you kids hate the good man," said Mr. Sweet
"Seriously?" Asked Patricia
"The thief saves himself or herself a lot of trouble and me too by getting up now and coming with me to my office," said Mr. Sweet
None of the residents got up.
"Well you leave me no choice I have to question each one of you," said Mr. Sweet
The Anubis residents were not happy about this and immediately started to complain.
Alfie was the first one questioned by Mr. Sweet.
"As free as a bird," joked Alfie.
Mr. Sweet didn't like a joke and started screaming, screaming so loud you could hear it in the hallway. The other residents were waiting.
"I don't understand any of this," said Fabian. "Did nobody steal him?" He asked
"Yeah, as if," said Amber.
"No," said Otis
"I'm allergic to feathers," said Mara.
Alfie came out of the office and Nina was next. Nina was sitting at the desk. Mr. Sweet offered her a Coke and some cookies, but she didn't want to have any of them.
"If you don't cooperate, there will be serious consequences," said Mr. Sweet.
"I've nothing to do with the disappearance of Corbierre," said Nina.
Now Otis was being questioned.
"Where is Corbierre?" Asked Mr. Sweet
"I did not do anything. Okay so I got a reputation as a prankster, but I got nothing to do with is," said Otis
Now Fiona was being questioned.
"What have you done with Corbierre?" Asked Mr. Sweet.
"Nothing. I will never take away someone's best friend. Yes, I don't like dead animals or animal cruelty. But Victor didn't kill Cobierre or anything. I got nothing to do with it," said Fiona
Now Aaron was being questioned.
"Why did you steal Corbierre?" Asked Mr. Sweet
"I didn't. Why would I? or any of us, I mean we just got our freedom back, why should I jeopardize that?" Said Aaron.
Now Caitlin was being questioned.
"You promise not to say anything to the others?" Asked Caitlin
"What?" Asked Mr. Sweet.
"I'm afraid of Cobierre," said Caitlin
"Afraid?" Asked Mr. Sweet
"Yes, not just for Corbierre, but also for other birds," said Caitlin.
Now Jerome was being questioned.
"So you think Nina, Patricia and Amber have something to do with it?" Asked Mr. Sweet
"They think Victor is stealing cats and then stuffing them. And that stuff with Trudy, I think they have something to do with it," said Jerome, drinking some cola and eating a cookie.
Now Patricia being questioned.
"According to an anonymous witness, you are one of the prime suspect," said Mr. Sweet
"I refuse to cooperate with this nonsense, I appeal to my right to remain silent," said Patricia
Now Fabian was being questioned. Mister's desk lamp shone Fabian's face. Fabian was almost blinded by the light.
"Fabian you are an intelligent young man, I really don't think you are involved in this crime. But who do you think did this?" Asked Mr. Sweet
"Victor," said Fabian, while he pushed the lamp out of his face.
Now Amber was being questioned.
"Miss. Millington ...," said Mr. Sweet but Amber interrupted him.
"Wait a minute, my daddy always said to me, you need a lawyer for cases like this. So I'll say noithing more until my daddy's lawyer gets here," said Amber
Now Mick was being questioned.
"Who put you up to this?" asked Mr. Sweet.
"No one and I haven't done it either. And I don't know who does either," said Mick
Mara was the last one to be questioned.
"I am allergic to everything that flies and has feathers. Now Corbierre can no longer fly, but he is covered with feathers, let alone that dust," said Mara
"I've heard enough," said Mr. Sweet
Mr. Sweet came out of his office and the residents were waiting in the hall.
"I'll give the thief one last chance, if he or she brings Corbierre back within sixteen hours, so that is before tomorrow morning, then nothing is wrong. Then the perpetrator remains anonymous," said Mr. Sweet
"But, I feel a but coming up," said Otis.
"But if Corbierre isn't back by tomorrow morning and I'll check this out personally. Then the rules of Victor are going to enlisted immediately," said Mr. Sweet.
The residents were absolutely not happy about this. A few hours later and they were all back home. Mara sat on the couch reading, but she kept sneezing. Patricia saw a paper on the door with Victor's rules and was not happy about it. Fabian sat down on the couch next to Mara.
"Do you have a cold?" Asked Fabian.
"A little," said Mara.
'Wait, here you go," said Fabian, as he gave Mara a tissue.
"Thank you," said Mara, as she took the tissue.
An hour later it was dinner time. The residents were eating at the table when Victor entered the living room.
"I spoke with Mr. Sweet and you've 16 hours to, oh so now there are 14 hours and 14 minutes to return Cobierre and if this is doesn't happen. Then I will inform all parents and my rules will come into effect again," said Victor
Victor walked away and all the residents were not happy.
"Oh I think it's so mean, he tries to find a way to ruin things for us," complained Amber
"This whole thing stinks," said Alfie
"What do we do now?" Asked Fiona
"There is only one solution," said Fabian.
"And that is?" asked Caitlin
"We've to find Corbierre before tomorrow morning," said Fabian
After dinner, all residents searched the entire house for Corbierre. But no one could find him. The Sibuna club gathered in Nina and Amber's room.
"I'm sure Victor is behind this," said Fabian
"Yeah the only place we haven't known yet is the attic and the cellar," said Nina
"If that stupid bird's here somewhere, it must be in the cellar," said Patricia
" Then we can completely forget about it," said Amber
" Tomorrow we will live in Victor's prison again," complained Aaron
Suddenly Fabian started to laugh.
"Hello this is not funny," said Patricia.
"It's so simple. That I haven't thought that before," said Fabian
"What?" Asked Nina
"I know where Corbierre is," said Fabian
This made the club curious, how did Fabian now know where Corbierre was and where is Corbierre.
