Back on Earth, specifically at Mew's house, Mew finally awakens after a long but much needed nap.

Riku's there to greet him, delivering the surprising news that they've been asleep for two days. Mew's stunned but is glad no one attacked the Earth again in the meantime.

Trying to not jinx things though, Mew gets off that topic and focuses on having some brother bonding time with Riku. Riku's delighted at the thought.

Mew tries to avoid the topic of Riku's missing arm but circumstances don't exactly make that easy. He starts by making breakfast for the two of them, judging all of Riku's different tastes in food from him.

Once they get to the table Riku calls Mew out on trying to tip-toe around his missing limb, telling him to just act normal around him.

Mew apologizes, saying it'll be easier to not avoid the topic if Riku's ok with that.

Riku then wonders what they should do next, suggesting perhaps dealing with the list of people Mew wants to help.

Mew says that can wait, and if they're needed, the universe will let them know.

...And right on cue Mr. Reality knocks at the door. Mew is happy to see him alive, while Riku's cautious.

It takes a bit to sort out how the three know each other, upon which the next question is HOW the alien got to their house.

Mr. Reality tries to hide it but Riku knows its obviously Joe Dark. Mew wants to see him but Mr. Reality has to dash his hopes there.

For now they take a moment to recap what Mr. Reality's problems are...Turns out there's not a lot to remember. BUT, Mr. Reality does have an important lead in extracting the parasites thanks to his time with Joe Dark.

Darkness placates the parasites, so perhaps more darkness can extract them.

Mew suspects it might have had to do with the parasites being connected to the Dark King, only to then realize he's only speculating and they don't know WHERE the parasites came from.

Since the parasites were originally trapped in the Light Temple, Mew suggests forcing some info out of Auris since she owes them.

And since he said that, obviously she's seen this and will contact them soon...Only for the message to not come.

Thus the three are forced to take a trip to Sancturia, using a coat to hide Mr. Reality's alienness.

They find Auris in her house, looking a little tired by her standards. Kairi's stepped out for the moment, so she's just taking a water break.

But Mew has to pester her about Mr. Reality's problem.

Mr. Reality compliments Auris' beauty and she is charmed, then recognizes him as the one who got the reality bending powers.

Mew has to stop the alien, thinking he can't compliment another lady just cause he's married.

Auris focuses back on the topic at hand and brings up the Parakali parasites within Mr. Reality's mind. She wishes not to deal with them again but knows the urgency of doing so.

Mew goes over the theory they put together and Auris agrees with it. However, she confirms that the Dark King did not create the parasites. In fact, even back then his darkness wasn't enough to extract them.

Mr. Reality continues to be silent about Joe Dark's whereabouts, which isn't good as they NEED more dark power to pull this off, since Riku alone won't cut it.

Mew has an idea, and the subtle suggestion causes Auris to question if it'll be worth dealing with him again.

Mew can't hesitate after making Mr. Reality wait so long for help.

Auris explains how Justek threw "D." into the Void of Radiance, which had a faint connection to the Light Temple, as unlike the other temples, that one was brought directly from the Elemental Overlord's old home...Genestasia.

Mew's excited to be going to his old home, but Auris tells him they'd be better off getting a ride from a certain someone...

Mew leaves the house and delivers the good news, bad news to Riku. Good news is they have a solution, the bad news is Mew's not ready to talk to the person they need a ride from...

They head to the Pyramid and find it being repaired by machines, signifying the person they're looking for is inside.

Further into the Pyramid, they find Gabriel hard at work replanting his garden. He's recovering just fine, and is glad to see them well.

Mew cuts right to the chase and says he's there to talk with Saturn. Gabriel hesitates at the idea but Mew insists they have no other choice.

Gabriel shouts out for her and she comes springing down hanging upside-down from a bungie cord. During her usual mantra she glares at Mew and looks pissed that he's here.

Saturn lays out just how much chaos has been caused following Gravitus' defeat, and how she heard of the trouble he's been causing in Sancturia too that led to the Pyramid being in this shape.

Mew sticks to his guns that he did the right thing though, and the two bicker for a bit. Gabriel and Riku step in as mediators until they stop, and get Saturn focused on why they're here.

Riku winds up having to speak up for them, as Saturn's willing to trust his word over his miscreant brother.

Him and Mr. Reality explain the situation, with Saturn failing to stop herself from calling Mr. Reality's condition really cool.

Once she learns what they want and where they want to go she recognizes the urgency of their mission and gladly offers them a ride.

However, upon hearing the location Gabriel has to pull Mew aside and find out what he's looking for. Mew tells the truth, and though he has his reservations Gabriel is fine with trusting he has a plan.

But he warns against getting excited for where they're going.

Saturn then rallies them forth to her floor, adjusting the portal's drop off point to her massive space station: The Orbitron.

She takes them on a brief tour of her garage and the many, MANY ships housed inside it. On the way, Mew and Riku recognize Justek's Ark of Nothing in one of the compartments.

Turns out, Saturn has made it herself, and Mew and Riku have to explain to her why they recognize it.

It explains a lot for her, and she's annoyed that Justek stole the ship after helping her make it so long ago.

She then guides him to her Sagittarius Arrow Mk IV, a ship more than fast enough to get them to where they need to go.

She asks for a pilot NOT MEW to ride it in case the auto-pilot fails them. Mr. Reality volunteers, having experience due to his profession back home.

They load up in the ship and take off like an arrow through space on a one way course to Genestasia.

Along the way Riku and Mr. Reality are a little worried about the state of the universe following Gravitus' demise.

Mew would like to help but knows how unpopular the Elemental Overlord is out there given the match he had against Neptune.

But IF Saturn wishes for his help, he'll gladly assist.

Since there's a lot of down time Mew decides to hear a bit of Riku did out in space. Riku figures he can't hesitate to hold back his feelings any longer and starts from the beginning.

The talk of the trip to Hyrule sparks some feelings of regret in Riku and sympathy from Mew.

However, further talk causes Riku to have an idea about how to deal with "D."

Some time later they arrive at their destination...And to their surprise and disbelief, the planet's surface has been ruined by war and catastrophes alike.

There's no one left alive and even the corpses seem deader than dead.

Its fortunate for them that the place where the Light Temple originated is still intact. They guide the ship towards that destination, and land.

Mew and Riku head out, telling Mr. Reality to stay back in case something goes wrong. The two then go into Light Form to seek out the Void of Radiance.

It lies close to the far North of the area and after some exertion, they open a rift to the Void and reach inside. It doesn't take long for something to latch onto Mew's hand, where the two of them put their strength into pulling them out.

However, what they find is nothing resembling "D." but some strange black insect man with a lot of moth-like features, though devilish in form.

The insect recognizes Mew on the spot...For he IS "D."

"D." explains the confusion quickly, as while he was burning alive in the Void of Radiance, his own pain was creating a perpetual loop that fed him and allowed him to cocoon himself and return to his true form.

But without Mew's assistance he would've still been trapped in here. So now HE has to wonder why he's been sought out.

Mew explains the situation and "D." can only laugh, as Mew has brought HIS children back to him, referring to the parasites.

The parasites were created when "D." originally lost his body, essentially being the shards of his power.

"D." then rises from the ground and laughs at the state of the world, stating how he wished he could have witnessed the demise of the Elemental Overlord's dreams of a united world.

But now none of that matters. No longer tethered to such inane ideals of others or having to worry about the mightiest figures from that era, "D." plans to make the universe his paradise of blood.

Mew stands in his way, prepared to make him kneel for the first and final time.

The two clash among the ruins of this world, a dance that has been played out once before...However, this time Mew fights alone, insisting that Riku stay back and let him face his darkness.

Mew remains calm as best he can, so that his light may shine bright enough to cleanse "D." and his darkness from the world.

"D." is frustrated over how little Mew is getting upset, and begins starving and salivating over the slim hope that he may feast upon negativity once more.

Mew eventually strikes him back down to the ground, telling him off for expecting mortals to act the same way forever.

He then surprises the demon by thanking him, because if Mew never had the fear of being alone cause of "D." he never would've ventured out and learned to conquer it...and probably never would've met Kairi and the others.

He thinks "D." can enjoy the same type of happiness and learn to live that way, offering his hand out for friendship.

"D." latches on, but immediately tries to take control by force...Only for Mew to instantly stab him in the gut with his sword, figuring he'd fall for the bait.

A few hours back, Riku had told Mew of how he reclaimed the dark elemental energy from Ganondorf by stabbing his sword into him to siphon it out. He figures that since "D." is the origin of Mew's Dark Form, perhaps Mew can do the same.

And sure enough, Mew pulls on the black trigger and sucks "D." up inside of his sword. "D." begs to not be trapped forever, stating how he IS darkness and shouldn't be able to be stopped.

Mew shrugs and tells him he only has himself to blame for giving him some of that darkness in the first place.

Once "D." is fully absorbed Mew goes into a new Dark Form that takes on parts of the demon's insect features.

He tries to fake Riku out by pretending he's possessed by Riku's too straight-laced to fall for it.

Now that Mew's been successful they head back to the ship to return home and hopefully, save Mr. Reality from the parasites.

After dropping the ship off and thanking Saturn for her help, they head back to the house through her portal and prepare to extract the parasites.

After Mew and Riku run down the specifics of Dark Form to make sure they don't screw up, they transform and start concentrating on the parasites in Mr. Reality's mind.

The brothers pushing themselves to the limit seems to be doing something to budge the parasites. Suddenly though, Riku's body starts spewing black electricity uncontrollably, leading to him be sent flying into the side of the mountain.

Mew runs over to help him up and Riku cannot answer what happened, cause he doesn't know.

Mew sets him aside, asks him to rest, and decides to go talk to Auris for more answers.

One quick trip to Sancturia later, he's given Auris an update on what's going on.

She says nothing like this ever happened to her husband, but has a theory as to why it would have affected Mew and Riku in particular.

She discusses how, due to the nature of the Anti-Genesis Theorem inside of them, her husband could not give her a child.

But stubborn as he was he sought other methods to get around that, and learned how to create living, breathing people through elemental energy.

...The flaw however was that he could only copy himself, and until he died he did not know how to copy the nature of the soul into the new body.

Still, he imparted this knowledge onto Alex Whiter and that's what allowed him to make Mew, and in turn let Mew make Riku.

Thus Mew and Riku are made out of pure elemental energy, and its possible that something caused Riku to suffer a burnout.

Mew suspects him using Genesis Form for too long did it, and Auris is inclined to agree. However, theorizing is pointless now, as they need some other method to free Mr. Reality from the parasites.

Mew knows what he has to do and returns home to speak with Mr. Reality about bringing Joe Dark back here.

Mr. Reality is forced to reveal the state Joe Dark was in when he saw him, and advises against Mew bringing him back.

But knowing how broken up Joe Dark is, Mew DEFINITELY can't ignore him now. He wants to help him out by burying the hatchet between them and maybe becoming friends cause of it.

Mr. Reality didn't expect any less from Mew and finds himself convinced by his words to maybe give Joe Dark a second chance here...

With Mew's help he focuses his powers just long enough to bring him back...

Meanwhile, Dracula's castle is leaving the lifeless blood soaked world of Edelgyre. Joe Dark watches over it, still shaken by the death he witnessed, and could not stop.

Alura comes to greet him, noticing he's upset.

Despite her reasoning Joe Dark thinks she killed these people just as much as Grimmley did.

Alura warns him not to defy father's will again, or else he'll be eaten to be used as an example.

There's a bit of fear in Alura's voice and hearing it causes Joe Dark to deny their positions here with all his anger.

He tells Alura that he plans to escape and that she shouldn't be here either.

But Alura knows there's no escape and warns him not to try.

Joe Dark grabs her shoulders and yells at her that she can't keep acting like this. She can't show fear one minute and then be quiet the next. Either she's a human, or she's a monster.

She cannot reply, and Joe Dark is not given the time to hear her try before he's whisked away back to where he doesn't want to be.

The moment Joe Dark appears before him, baffled, Mew tries to be friendly at first.

Joe Dark loses his mind having to be forced to be in the presence of a Whiter yet again. He starts laughing in a very unhinged manner, wondering why the HELL he can't ever escape no matter how hard he tries.

Mew tries to calm him down but he shuts him up, wanting to be the sole person speaking for once in his goddamn life.

He threatens Mew to have Mr. Reality send him back so he can just rot away in peace.

Mew tries AGAIN to speak up but Joe Dark refuses him.

Thus begins a cycle of empathy and his denial of it, with Joe Dark almost blowing off one of Mew's feet in retaliation.

Mew is forced to just stand there and dare Joe Dark to actually attack him directly.

Joe Dark begins denying the reality set before him, believing this to be another of the mannequin's illusions. It gets so bad that he starts denying his entire life up until now, forcing Mew to intervene in the best way he knows how...Delivering a powerful headbutt to his face.

Finally shutting up his ranting for a bit, Mew tells it to him straight. He understands that Joe Dark lived to fulfill his grudge against Alex, and now he feels like he has nothing.

Mew's been feeling a little emptier too without Alex around, especially because they were family.

Joe Dark digs his fingers into the dirt and stands up, confronting Mew with a berserk declaration over how he doesn't understand what he feels because Alex actually WAS his brother.

This devastates Mew AND Riku, throwing both off their game here.

It sounds like a lie Justek planted in death to torment Joe Dark...At first. But the more Joe Dark speaks of his memories the more convincing he comes across as.

Mew has to take a moment and plops down next to a tree to think. Joe Dark calms down a little and then joins him, looking utterly defeated.

Eventually he breaks the silence by wondering what Alex's last words were. Mew answers with silence, and Joe Dark scowls in disappointment...

He mutters about how all he ever wanted was a family, only to lose them all every time he has them. And now it turns out he was trying to get revenge on his flesh and blood brother who didn't even have full control over what he was doing...

Both his and Alex's lives sucked but at least HE got to be someone for a time. He's nothing, no one...worse than trash.

Mew doesn't want him to believe that, telling him how sure, he's had a crappy early life, but he still has so many years ahead of himself to do something.

He thinks this is the prime opportunity for him to start all over again.

Joe Dark wonders what the HELL he's getting on about with all that sappy talk, noting how they aren't even family so why should he care?

Mew says it doesn't matter if they aren't exactly family. But IF it does bother him that much, then he doesn't have to have a home or three square meals a day.

Joe Dark grits his teeth and can't believe he's being tortured here, to which Mew gives a wily smirk and asks if its working.

Joe Dark tries to hide his feelings but Mew manages to peel his mask off until he has no choice but to accept Mew's request of kindness.

Joe Dark lays a ground rule though that Mew will NOT call him brother under ANY circumstances.

After the two settle down a bit they remember Mr. Reality needs to be dealt with. Mew catches Joe Dark up-to-date finally, leaving Joe Dark wondering how these idiots get anything done without him helping out.

Joe Dark offers his darkness to Mew's cause and together the two put their all into ripping the parasites of Mr. Reality's head at long last.

Mew traps them in a sphere for now while Mr. Reality celebrates his freedom by doing what he should've done from the start...

He snaps his fingers, frightening Mew until the ensuing flash shows...Mr. Reality returned to normal. He used his powers to remove his powers from the universe forever, and got his body back for it.

Mew's a little quiet, having wanted to use them to solve some problems but gets over it quickly, congratulating the alien for his success.

Joe Dark actually feels a little...good to have done that, though doesn't admit it.

Mew heads back to Sancturia to hand the parasites over to Auris. She happily crushes them to dust.

In the aftermath of this event Mr. Reality gets a ride home via Saturn.

Then, Mew helps bring Joe Dark into his new/old home. Joe Dark gets a tad nostalgic by his lonesome, then decides to check on Alex Whiter's grave.

Feeling warmth where there were once emptiness inside of him, Joe Dark decides he will now survive for the both of them.

A few days later, now that Joe Dark's a little more accustomed to his old home, Mew decides to bring him to Sancturia to meet the Aurians.

Riku's coming along with too, and the three of them go right to Auris' house via a Dark Form rift.

Auris is pacing about with a clearly worried look on her face. When Mew asks what's wrong, Auris reveals that Kairi has left from Sancturia to go find her sister...
