The next day, Nora was more exhausted than the day before. Dorothy, Sophia, Frederick, Frasier, and Meg were sitting around the kitchen table while the girls kept Nora company in her room.

"I can't even imagine why she is so tired," Frasier said.

"Is that the only symptom she's feeling?" Frederick asked.

"Yes," Frasier answered.

"I don't know, dad."

"What good is it having a doctor in the family if you don't know?"

"You mean like a psychiatrist?" Sophia high fived her grandson for the remark.

Lina walked into the kitchen, "grandpa, grandma has to go potty."

"Thanks, sweetheart," Frasier got up and went to the bedroom to help his wife. While they were in the bathroom, Frasier decided to ask Nora about what she felt. "Darling, I know you are beyond exhausted, but is that the only problem?"

"The only new one. I know what you are thinking and I don't have any of the other symptoms from fourteen years ago. Maybe we should call my cardiologist to be on the safe side."

"I can call after I get you back into bed."

"I'm really enjoying spending this time with the girls."

Frasier smiled, "I can tell and I'm glad."

Frasier got off the phone with his wife's cardiologist.

"What did he say?" Frederick asked.

"Well, he doesn't think it's a heart-related issue. That being said, he did tell me what to look for and to have you listen to her heart every day. She has an appointment next week, but if she gets worse or develops other symptoms then he said to take her to the emergency room."

"I don't think it's heart-related either," Frederick said.

"Is it possible that she has worn herself out by doing too much with the girls?" Meg asked.

"That is possible," Frasier said, "she feels the need to take care of everyone and that could have caused her to become worn out."

"Well, we decided to speed up our house search," Meg said.

"There's no rush," Frasier told his daughter-in-law.

"There kind of is," Frederick added, "Meg's pregnant."

Frasier got a huge smile on his face, "that's wonderful, but I still don't see why you have to speed up the search."

"Really?" Frederick asked his father.

"When are you telling your mama?"

"About that, I was kind of hoping you would."

"Of course you were."

"Do you think it will upset her?"

"No," Frasier answered, "I think it will crush her."

"Not helping," Frederick said.

"You can't just take the kids and sneak out of here one night when she's asleep. Just be honest with her."

Frederick decided to go talk to Nora before he lost his nerve. He took his stethoscope with him, "girls can you give daddy and grandma a few minutes alone please? I'll come and get you when we're done." The girls climbed off the bed and left the room. "Your doctor wants me to check your heartbeat every day. Dad scheduled an appointment for you for next week." Nora leaned forward so her son could listen to her heart and then let him check her pulse.

"I get the feeling that you didn't come in here to just listen to my heart."

"Yeah, well, here's the thing. Meg and I are speeding up our house hunt."

"Why? You know you don't have to rush."

Frederick let out a nervous chuckle, "oh, but we do. Meg's pregnant," he revealed.

"That's wonderful, but you still don't have to rush."

"Yeah, we do I mean we are grateful to you and dad for helping us out. We just think it will be too much for you to have four little kids running around. Plus, it's time for us to get back out there on our own."

"Okay," Nora said looking down, "can you tell the girls that they can come back in later. I need to sleep a little."

"Sure," Frederick said knowing full well she wasn't being entirely honest with him. After Frederick told the girls and sent them to the living room, he sat back down at the table.

"How'd it go?" Frasier asked.

Frederick put his hands over his face and sighed, "I'm the worst son ever."

"Did she guilt you?" Meg asked.

"No, she just asked for me to keep the girls out for now so she could sleep."

"What's wrong with that?"

"Nora has never told those girls to leave her alone. She never even told the children that. She has been alright with them being in there while she has slept. Now she just wants to be alone," Frasier explained.

"She's been having a hard time with all of you kids now out on their own. Oh, how did her heart sound?"

"You mean before I broke it?" Frederick asked, "it sounds like a healthy heart."

"I'm sure she'll feel better soon," Meg said trying to believe her words herself.

It had been two days since Frederick had told Nora that his family was looking for a house and that Meg was expecting again. The woman had not left her room and hardly ate. She didn't even allow her granddaughters in her room which caused the girls to be mad at their grandmother. One day, Meg, Frederick, and Frasier were sitting at the kitchen table.

"I don't know what to do," Frasier said.

"Look, why don't we put off the house hunt until mama is feeling better?" Meg suggested.

"Are you sure?" Frederick asked his wife.

"Yes, clearly she's depressed and this isn't the time to do something that could make things worse."

"Dad, are you okay with this?"

"Of course I am and I greatly appreciate this."

Lina and Elie walked in, "Mommy, daddy, can we go to Nana's today?"

"We have to check and make sure that she's not busy first," Frederick said.

"Girls, we have decided to stay here until your grandma is feeling better," Meg said with a smile.

The girls began to frown, "do we have to?" Elie asked. It surprised everyone that Elie was the one to ask that because she had become incredibly close to Nora.

"Look, I'll call Nana and we can talk about this later," Frederick said quickly changing the subject. Lilith wasn't home that day, but she told her son that he could bring the girls over the following day.

"Dad, do you think we should try and get mama to come out here for dinner?" Meg asked.

"I'll go talk to her and see," Frasier walked to his room and found his wife sitting up in bed, "darling, would you like to join us for dinner?"

Nora thought for a moment, "do I have to walk?"

"No," Frasier knew his wife was a bit weak from her lack of nutrition.

"Okay," Frasier grabbed his wife's wheelchair and helped her into it. He moved a chair at the table so that there was a space for Nora. When the girls walked in, they basically ignored their grandmother and sat away from her. "So, are you both excited about going to Nana's tomorrow?"

"Yeah, and mommy asked if we could spend the weekend there. Nana said yes, and then we're going to spend a few days with Meemaw and Papa," Lina answered.

"Mommy, daddy, can we go live with Meemaw and Papa? They have lots of room," Elie inquired.

"True, but mommy and daddy are staying here to help grandma," Frederick told his daughters.

"Then can me and Lina go live with Meemaw and Papa?"

Frasier, Meg, and Frederick tried not to look at Nora. They saw out of the corner of their eyes that Nora's heart was breaking. "Daddy and I would miss you too much," Meg tried to keep Nora out of this.

"Girls, why don't you go have fun with Nana, Meemaw, and Papa. When you come back then we can talk about this more," Frasier said.

"Thank you, grandpa," the girls said.

Nora barely touched her dinner and everyone knew why. They also knew that she wouldn't want to talk about what the girls had said. The entire time the girls were gone, Nora continued to stay in her room. The girls got back from Woody and Kelly's right before dinner. Nora was at the table in her wheelchair and once again the girls sat away from here. "Girls, did you have fun?" Meg asked her daughters.

"We had the best time, so can we go live with Meemaw and Papa?" Lina responded.

"No," Frederick answered, "we are all staying here to help grandma."

"Don't you want us to be happy, daddy?" Elie asked.

"Of course, but we need to do this."
