Chapter 30: Union

The screaming of sirens over powered the screaming of the humans who were fleeing for their lives and the shadows began to move. People started to disappear from the small pockets of light as something dragged them into the dark and their screams were cut short. Blood was starting to warm the cold surface to the metal floor as more and more soldiers came to block the path of Amun's daughters. It was futile, for they were now hunting and nothing would survive these dark angles of death.

The xenomorph king walked the large corridor as his hive picked off human after human that can through the side doors, guns raised, thinking they had the upper hand over a bung of 'bugs'. Their final mistake. One by one they were picked off and silenced by claws, teeth and tails. He could feel the pleasure that his daughters felt as they hunted and stocked their pray, those that would harm their sisters of the dark.

More and more soldiers were sent to prevent the escape of the companies prised gem, their xenomorph royals. More and more blood now covered the floor, covered the teeth of those that hid in the darkness. More and more soldiers tried their tactics in order to gain the upper hand, more and more times they failed.

Amun watched as three of his daughters waited above a smaller corridor that connected to the larger one they were traveling. As he walked past, and noticed the men within, his daughters entered with lighting speed, killing all five of them in the blink of an eye. They, of course, had the upper hand in close quarters combat, taking away the advantage of the human's guns.

That being said, Amun noticed something happening down that larger corridor, many small figures moving about with objects in their arms. He only realised what it was as the bullets started to fly through the air. The thunder of the belt feed machine gun shook the air around them, reverberation off the walls of the enclosed space. Amun lowered his head as the bullets bit into his exoskeleton, drawing his acid blood forward. He took off at a sprint.

The soldiers probably thought they had enough time to take the king down, having a few hundred yards between them and the three story tall nightmarish creature they now shot at. They were wrong. Amun took off, holding nothing back, and closed the gap in a few seconds. The soldiers that had manned the position didn't even have time to grab their smaller fire arms before the kings claws plucked them up from the ground, squeezed his fist, and brought forth the crimson blood from their bodies. The human that had manned the machine gun wasted no time in trying to run, but Amun's tail was faster. It came from his side and flashed past the man through the dark. Where a man had once been running, there was now only two parts of his body that fell to the floor.

The king noticed one more human that was not attempting to run for their life. Wasting no time, the alien king leapt and landed his large foot on top of the woman, crushing her flat to the floor. After the interaction had passed, Amun noticed the growing pain upon his crown. He ran his clawed hand over his ridged head and felt the sting of more than a few bullet wounds.

"Father, you are hurt!" Bobby called from behind him. He looked to his blood covered hand, some from his head, some from the people he had just crushed.

"It was better than letting any of you get hit." He responded. " We are close Bobby, gather your sisters. Keep them close and safe." The sudden cracking of small arms fire caught his attention. His head snapped up and gazed down the corridor. He watched as a few humans were in a fire fight with a pack of Xeno's. Ones that must have been from Jolene's hive. He watched as a few xenomorphs took rounds to their heads and chest, their limp bodies fell to the ground.

"Bobby go!" It was all the king had to say. From his sides, his daughters ran past him and blinding speeds, wanting to save the other hive members before it was too late. Molly and Scarlette taking up the rear.

Amun also made his way over fast, wanting to save everyone he could. His daughters made it there first, ripping and tearing apart a few soldiers who were looking for their next target. As Amun came close, his attention was shifted to another side corridor door that flashed open, exposing more soldiers. He took no time in whipping his tail towards them. He aimed strait down the small hall and felt more than one person become impaled by his foot wide tail blade. Pulling his tail back, he looked upon the sight of more than one person dead upon his blade. With a strong flick, he rid himself of them.

Amun turned back towards the other xenomorphs that had been under attack. He was glad to see that there were no more humans standing, but sad to see that more than a few aliens lay beside them. Thankfully none of his daughters had fallen. His hive and that of Jolene's now stood looking at one another, not really knowing what to do. Amun approached and looked to those who were surrounded by the teal blue mist that was different from the sea blue of his hive.

"Take us to your mother, we will do the hunting so stay safe and out of the way." He wanted to keep it simple and to the point. They could strike up conversations once they were out of here.

"This way, Mother is waiting for us." One of the drones responded. Those of Jolene's hive went to the nearest wall and began to climb until they were on the ceiling. Once there, they began to make their way down the corridor where he could still feel Jolene was waiting. Amun looked to his daughters who all looked to him for instructions. With a small nod, they all took off, some on the walls, some on the ground. Each one of them still every alert to dangers that may show themselves. Amun took the moment to reach out for Jolene.

"Jolene, I am sorry. Some of your daughters have fallen, we tried to save them, I am sorry."

"I...I know. I felt...felt them."

"Tell your hive to stay safe, my daughters have had more experience hunting, we will take care of the soldiers."

"Th-thank you. Most of...of them are here with...me. Only a few...I cannot find."

"We will find them, don't worry. Let's group up and go from there." He said as he begin to follow his family.

"Ok." He could tell that she was losing more daughters than she was telling him. Her words were not doing a good job of hiding her pain. He picked up the pace.

As he continued on, there was no more resistance from any of the company, giving them a bit of time to relax. Amun wondered for how long though. As Jolene's family came to stop outside a large set of double doors, he could feel the queen inside. He looked down and saw that the twins were also a bit agitated which confirmed that she was close at hand. They had not gone unnoticed.

"Amun...is...are those my...daughters?" Just then, the two small drones looked up to the king, knowing that their mother had spoken. Amun sent a mental smile to the queen.

"They have missed you." With that the king moved to face the door, the smaller xeno's moving out of the way.

The king surveyed the door for a moment, considering his options. It was a simple double door, but it looked rather thick. He would have to try and pry it open. He moved his claws to the seam of the door, finding the small crack created by the two slabs of metal. Pushing as hard as he could, he found that he made a small gap. He moved his feet into a better position and pushed as hard as he could, pushing his claws deeper into the space between the door. Then, once his claws had enough of a hold, he began to pull the two pieces apart from one another.

It was not easy, both sides protested his strength, not wanting to move by a force other than their own. Amun did not care, they were going to move weather they likes it or not. As the doors slowly began to move, his muscles beginning to ache, he looked through the gap he had created and saw that Jolene was there, helping him from the other side. Looking upon her face, he found a renewed sense of purpose and strength. He let loose a low roar and flexed every muscle in his body. With a groan of metal, the doors gave way and snapped open with a sudden jerk. It took both of the royals by surprise, sending them off balance.

Amun's feet moved forward to stop him from falling into the room, Jolene had not been quick enough and came through to his side. With his feet in a bad position, he caught the queen, but fell backwards onto his back. Holding onto the queen to prevent her from hitting the floor. The impact took the wind out of Amun and stunned the king for a short moment. As he recovered, he looked to Jolene who now rested upon his chest.

Her face eventually found his gaze and the two simply looked to one another for a while. Then, to his surprise, she jolted forward and kissed the king. He was taken back for a second before the feeling took over. He knew that he should not let her do it, but after all that had happened, he did not want to stop it. Their lips locked in a tight embrace, he could feel her chest moving as she breathed in and out. A flash of Emilia ran through his mind and brought him back to reality.

Amun pulled away first, remembering his queen as well as wanting to get out of the facility before talking about the kiss. In reality, there was a lot that needed to be discussed, but after they were safe. Jolene, feeling that she may have been out of line, scrambled to right herself and find her own footing beside the king. Amun, rolled and found his own footing and stood up before the queen that he had finally found. He looked to her once more and was lost within her gaze. This time, it was Jolene that responded first.

"Hi you...big bug."

"H-hi." He was almost at a loss of words, he was having trouble believing that he had actually pulled it off, he was here! They had finally found her. As he looked upon this alien queen, her mental touch reminded him so much of Jolene that all the happiness that he had ever felt with his first love flooded his mind. He got lost in the feeling, letting it take over, not wanting it to end. Their stare was broken when the twins bolted forward and found their mother at long last. They began to climbed her exoskeleton until she grabbed them both with her larger hands. Jolene brought them up to her face and nuzzled them both.

"O my d-daughters, I thought...I had lost you...two!"

"Did they have names?" Amun asked as she held the two.

"No, they...they were taken away from u-us right as they...emerged from...their hosts. I-I never even had time to...give them names." He felt her sadness, it was something he knew all too well. He wanted to give her something to be happy about.

"Bobby? Would you like to introduce them?" He called to his first born, looking down to his feet where he knew she had been standing.

"Andrea and Linda...their names are Andrea and Linda. Linda has the longer tail, in your left hand." Jolene looked down at her lost daughters and the loose a low thrum from her throat.

"Linda...Andrea." She said as she looked from one to the other. " I am so...glad you are...are alive." Amun watched with glee as Jolene hugged her daughters, loving every moment of it.

However, as all good things, it was cut short by the sounds of some sort of engine coming down the hall. Amun looked to see how much time they had. He could not see the vehicle, which meant they could re-group and make a plan. The king looked back to the queen that was before him, pulled back his lips to expose his teeth and waited. Jolene put down her daughters, looked to the king and let loose a ear piercing shriek that shook the walls of the lab.

If someone in the facility had not know what was going on, they did now.
