zejaykay: What's that?

Alrighty, They're Alive has been put on hold for this one. Now that we're so close to the end, I don't want to keep you hanging forever. Also, I would like to take a moment to thank HaywireEagle, a reviewer of Sword and Wand who called it sloppy, rushed, forced, cheaply planned, and said that the cheaper tropes are poorly executed. Not only did they not review as a guest like a coward, but they gave me advice to help improve it. To be honest, I was already thinking that it needed some editing. I'll go back and edit it once the rest of the planned ones are done. They aren't wrong. I really only planned the last one when I started and some of this.

Song of the Chapter: ASGORE by Toby Fox (it'd be cooler if it was the 5th anniversary orchestral version)

I own nothing. (just realized that's kinda confusing. I own nothing except for the plot and OCs, which I think is just Dora [not Tonks, the daughter of Hecate])

Harry

They landed on the street of Hogsmeade outside of the Three Broomsticks. It appeared that Madam Rosmerta heard them, because she came outside moments later.

"Albus? What happened - " she started, but Dumbledore cut her off. "We need to get up to the school, Rosmerta."

She looked at him like he had told her he was going to die. "But you can't - haven't you seen - ?"

"What is it?" Percy asked her. She pointed to the castle and they saw a skull in the starry night sky, with a snake coming out of its mouth.

The Dark Mark.

"When?" Harry asked her. She shrugged. "I don't know, it wasn't there when I put the cat out, but when I got upstairs … "

Harry started panicking. That meant someone had died, but who? Did the luck potion for the others run out? Had they been gone that long?

"We need brooms," Dumbledore said weakly. Though Percy had removed the potion, Dumbledore was still weak. Percy pulled out his wand and said "Accio Rosmerta's brooms!" Brooms came flying out of the pub, and they climbed on. They kicked off the ground and they flew towards the castle, going as fast as they could. Harry had to see if everyone was safe. They landed at the top level of the Astronomy Tower, and they hopped off the brooms. Then Harry heard steps. Steps that were coming up the stairs fast. Harry tried to warn Dumbledore, but he pointed his wand at Harry and Percy, and he threw the invisibility cloak over them. He had frozen them with the full body-bind.

"Expelliarmus!" said a frantic voice, disarming Dumbledore. It was Malfoy.

"Good evening, Draco," Dumbledore said, smiling. Malfoy didn't smile back.

"I've got backup." Malfoy said, "There are Death Eaters here in your school tonight."

"Well, well," said Dumbledore, "very good indeed. You found a way to let them in, did you?"

"Yeah," said Malfoy, who was panting. "Right under your nose and you never even noticed!"

"Very clever," said Dumbledore. "Where are they now? You seem unsupported."

"They met some of your people. They're having a fight down below. They won't be long, I came on ahead. I - I've got a job to do."

"Well, then, you must get on and do it, my dear boy," Dumbledore said softly.

There was silence. Harry moved his eyes to Percy, who seemed too weak to try anything.

"Draco, Draco, you are not a killer," Dumbledore finally said.

"How do you know?" said Malfoy. "You don't know what I'm capable of. You don't know what I've done!"

"Oh yes, I do," said Dumbledore. "You almost killed Percy Jackson and Ron Weasley. You have

been trying, with increasing desperation, to kill me all year. Forgive me, Draco, but they have been feeble attempts … so feeble, that I wonder whether your heart has been really into it."

"It has been into it!" said Malfoy. "I've been working on it all year, and tonight - "

Somewhere in the depths of the castle below Harry heard a muffled yell. Malfoy stiffened and

glanced over his shoulder.

"Somebody is putting up a good fight," said Dumbledore conversationally. "But you were saying … yes, you have managed to get Death Eaters into my school, which, I admit, I thought

impossible … how did you do it?"

But Malfoy said nothing. He was still listening to whatever was happening below and seemed to turn more and more pale as they got closer.

"Perhaps you ought to get on with the job alone," suggested Dumbledore. "What if your backup has been thwarted by my guard? As you have perhaps realized, there are members of the Order of the Phoenix here tonight too. And after all, you don't really need help … I have no wand at the moment … I cannot defend myself."

Malfoy stared at him.

"I see," said Dumbledore kindly. "You are afraid to act until they join you."

"I'm not afraid!" snarled Malfoy. "It's you who should be scared!"

"But why? I don't think you will kill me, Draco. Killing is not nearly as easy as the innocent believe … So tell me, while we wait for your friends … how did you smuggle them in here? It seems to have taken you a long time to work out how to do it."

Malfoy glared at Dumbledore, pointing his wand pointing directly at his heart. Then he said, "I had to mend that broken Vanishing Cabinet that no

one's used for years. The one Montague got lost in last year."

"Aaaah." Dumbledore's sigh was half a groan. "That was clever … there is a pair, I take it?"

"In Borgin and Burkes," said Malfoy, "they make a passage between them. Montague told me that when he was stuck in the Hogwarts one, he was trapped, but sometimes he could hear what was going on at school, and sometimes what was going on in the shop, but he couldn't make anyone hear him … in the end, he managed to Apparate out, even though he'd never passed his test. He nearly died doing it. Everyone thought it was a really good story, but I was the only one who realized what it meant, even Borgin didn't know. I was the one who realized there could be a way into Hogwarts through the cabinets if I fixed the broken one."

"Very good," murmured Dumbledore. "So the Death Eaters were able to pass from Borgin and Burkes into the school to help you … A clever plan, a very clever plan … and, as you say, right under my nose."

"Yeah!" Malfoy said with a sneer. "Right under your nose and you never noticed!"

"Draco," Dumbledore said. "You are not a killer."

Malfoy's smug look disappeared and he took a glance at the door behind them. "I don't have a choice!" he said, his voice flooding with fear. "He'll kill me if I don't!"

Suddenly, the door burst open, and Death Eaters came into the room. Harry recognized Snape, but the three others he couldn't recognize. "Dumbledore cornered!" said one of the strangers, a man who was short and lumpy. "Dumbledore wandless, Dumbledore alone! Well done, Draco!"

Suddenly, Harry saw Percy's expression turn into one of rage and fury, and water exploded from the walls, drenching everyone in the room. All of a sudden, Percy was able to move. He pointed his wand at Harry and undid the spell and Percy shouted "NO!!!"

He took the Death Eaters by surprise and wordlessly disarmed Malfoy. He jumped in front of Dumbledore and said "Hello there! You've killed too many people, and Dumbledore isn't going to be one of them."

The Death Eaters recovered from their shock and pointed their wands at Percy, who said "Protego!" Harry jumped next to Percy and they heard a loud cry, which they learned belonged to Fawkes, as he came flying next to them, carrying the Sorting Hat.

"What's that for?" Percy asked Harry, who plunged his hand in the depths of the hat to pull out the Sword of Gryffindor. "This," Harry said.

"Boys," Dumbledore said, clearly surprised by their appearance, "what are you doing?"

"You think we'd stand by?" Percy said as he charged at the Death Eaters. He froze Malfoy at the feet and hit him with the flat of his sword when he ran by, knocking him out. Harry cried out "Expelliarmus!" disarming the one who had sharp teeth and long nails. He slashed at the wand that flew in the air, breaking it into two.

He hit the female with the butt of his sword and Percy went to attack the lumpy one, but they flicked their wand and knocked the two boys back. Harry got up, and realized that the Sword of Gryffindor had been knocked out of his hand to the other side of the room. He looked at Dumbledore, who was standing in front of Snape, who had his wand pointed at him. Harry went to attack Snape, but Snape was too fast. In pure hatred, he said "Avada Kedavra!"

And Harry and Percy watched, as their mentor and friend fell from the tower.

Harry stood there for a moment with Percy, and they turned to face Snape.

But he wasn't there. He was at the door, leading Draco and the others out. It was just the lumpy one, who grinned and pointed his wand at them.

"Calignis!"

He left the room immediately as flames crawled over to the two boys, growing bigger and bigger. Harry reached his hand for the Sword of Gryffindor, but it got caught in the flames. He grabbed the Sorting Hat, and saw Percy throw water at the fire, only for it to evaporate immediately.

"It's time to run!" Percy said, running the opposite direction.

"Where?!" Harry cried out. Percy ran to the balcony, and Harry followed. Though it seemed insane, the two leapt from it, down to where Dumbledore had fallen. He saw Fawkes next to him and grabbed on. Percy whistled, and his pegasi flew to him just as he was about to hit the ground. The two flew to the Great Hall, hoping to find their friends there.

It would have been perfect to end it at Dumbledore's death, but I needed to have the bit with the Fiendfyre, as it is very important, and next chapter is Hermione, so I had to get it done here. Why is it important? Be patient.

Maybe I could have been a vision of the Phoenix opera house and I have a s to do it ourselves but I have a s to do it ourselves and I have a s to do it ourselves in the room. But and and have left us.
