After calming down from her fight with her yet to be mother P.J. and Melinda went to magic school to continue to look through books on ways to stop an elder or reconnect a bond.

"Is it just me or does it feel like everyone is always staring at us? We don't look that strange or out of place do we?" Melinda mentally asked her cousin.

"I don't know. I don't get it." P.J. answered back.

"I remember there once was a guy who was here in the library reading all the time. He reminded me of Chris always studying, always alone. But despite seeing him here all the time and never in class, I never heard anyone ever mention a word about him. Most were too busy studying or practicing to care."

"Yeah I remember you pointing him out. But he never bothered anyone so I paid him no mind."

"Maybe we should try a spell to hide us?"

"Too risky, too many people with unknown powers. One might be able to detect us. That headmaster Gideon in particular seems like he'd be able to detect us if we tried. If we did and he did detect us he'd want answers as to who we are and what we were hiding from. At least if he decided to pull us into his office and start grilling us the spell will make sure neither of us breaks down and tells him what he wants to know. If he did somehow realize a spell was keeping us quiet he might have the power to reverse it."

"Then maybe we should just 'borrow' a few books and bring them back later."

P.J. wasn't crazy about the idea but didn't see any other choice. They couldn't hang out in magic school anymore.

That evening they were hanging out in the sunroom looking through more books they again "borrowed" from magic school.

"Oh good, I'm glad you girls are here. Richard is coming over for dinner. You girls are welcome to join us. I made these plans weeks ago so Phoebe and I could double date. But now that they've broken up I didn't want to bring it up to her. Piper I guess forgot about that as she made a lot of food. So will you come?" Paige had intended to cancel but forgot till Richard mentioned it. She had thought about telling him it was cancelled till she learned about Wyatt. She had intended to invite him and the girls. They weren't as tight lipped about the future as Chris was. She wanted to see if they had anything to say about Richard. Maybe give her a hint as to whether or not he was the one she was meant to be with. She was also hoping that maybe Richard could get them to slip something about the future. She was happy to have spotted them. She thought about calling Wyatt but decided against it. She was afraid since he wasn't here, he might be with Chris and she didn't want him to show as he'd make sure no one said anything.

The girls thought it was strange till Paige mentioned Phoebe's now ex-boyfriend was supposed to have dinner with her and her boyfriend. It took them a minute to remember who Richard was. "Sure we'll come." P.J. said.

"Will Piper be there?"

"No, Wyatt is upstairs sleeping so she's going to visit her boyfriend Greg." Paige said leaving.

Melinda scrunched up her nose, "We have to get rid of this guy, Mom's dating. If she and dad don't get back together soon Chris will die."

"How? We can't get rid of him the same way we did my mom's."

A smile crept across Melinda's face. "You're a cupid aren't you? We'll just find the woman he's destined for. Then force an early meet up. Hopefully he'll break up with mom on his own. No spells on either. This way if mom accuses either of us of sabotaging her relationship we can tell her the truth. She could even cast her own spell on them to prove we did nothing to force the break up."

"That's a great idea. Where did it come from?"

"I'm capable of thinking of things myself you know!"

'Yeah I wonder where the idea truly came from? She's a lot like Wyatt. Rushes ahead and doesn't stop to think things through. I swear if I didn't know any better, I'd think Chris was adopted. Wy and Mel are just alike, while Chris is the exact opposite of them."

Just then Paige called them into dinner and introduced them to Richard. Paige told them of Richard's family history. The girls were surprised they had never heard of this before. A magical family feud lasting generations that few remember how it started. One that they managed to keep mortals from finding out about was what was impressive.

Paige knowing the girls knew them kept hoping the girls would let something slip. She was surprised and disappointed that the girls either didn't know Richard or just pretending not to. She couldn't get a read on it.

The girls were confused about Richard's obsession over having bad karma. Then P.J. started to laugh.

"If you were from our time I'd say you and Mel would be perfect for each other."

Richard was surprised and asked, "How so?"

"Ladybug…" Melinda growled. She hated when her cousin did this.

"Well when she stops to think she can usually handle upper level demons no problem. But she rarely does, she just rushes ahead. It gets us into trouble quite a bit."

"Is that how you ended up here?" Richard asked.

"Yes, Mel wanted to fight a medium level demon. She made the potion and off we went. We ran into a weird guy, he taunted her and ran off. Then instead of telling me that it wasn't who we were after she just rushes after him."

"I don't know anything about demons but that seems dangerous."

P.J. rolled her eyes, "Yes she didn't bother to tell me he wasn't who we were after till her potion failed. Then because of her bad luck it turned out the demon led us to a cave or something. We couldn't get out or call for help."

"Is that how you ended up in this time?"

Melinda wasn't happy but said, "Yes, I said something about taking us where we need to be. Next thing we know is we're here."

Before anymore could be said Leo orbed in, "Paige, Piper and Phoebe need your help."

"We'll help too!" Melinda said. She was excited she never got to fight by her mother's side. Her mother always made her stay home or behind Chris and Wyatt.

"I appreciate your wanting to help but I think the power of three will be enough." Leo said.

Paige smiled, "Maybe next time. The baby monitor is over there. Wyatt's been quite all evening."

Leo nodded as she orbed out.

Melinda slumped disappointed as Paige left. "Not fair I wanted to fight too."

"I'm sure they'll be another chance." P.J. said.

"Is there a reason the girls can't help?" Richard asked.

"We don't trust them. They keep telling us an elder turned Wyatt evil. But won't tell us who or why."

At that Melinda let her temper get the better of her. "So you want Wyatt to be evil? You want to see the world destroyed?"

Leo glared at her, "Wyatt won't be evil! I've seen him. I don't know what manipulation you did to him to make him create that fake world but it's not going to work."

"So you don't believe that vision of the future we showed you?" P.J. asked.

"No Wyatt is just as I knew he would be. He's a good and strong man. This whole thing was made up by Chris. I can only assume he was sent here to prevent Wyatt from becoming the strong confident man I've seen."

At that Melinda stood up to face him and glared at him, "That makes no sense. What, you think us and Wy are here to help make sure Chris turns him evil?"

Leo hadn't thought of it that way. It did make him question if it was possible they were telling the truth.

"You know what never mind. I never believed you could be the bastard only caring for Wyatt and hating on his other child that Chris described. But looking at you now. Now I believe it. The Leo I know I couldn't imagine being that way."

Leo was curious now, "How exactly do we know each other? I would never hate any of my children."

P.J. still upset at her mother's attitude who knew who Chris was and having this attitude and although Leo didn't know she too could see the Leo that Chris described. "We can't tell you how we know each other. But we have been to Chris' world. You are just like Phoebe, you want to stick your head in the sand and pretend that our future is your current future. I wish it was. Then we could all go home. But like it or not the apocalyptic future that Chris is from is the reality you're facing. Our future is only thanks to him for being here to stop it. We can't tell you who the elder is as Wy is the only one to have seen him in a vision and he doesn't know his name yet. So we can't tell you what we don't know."

"As for why would he do this? That's easy. He sees Wy as a threat. He is the first male witch born and one that will be very powerful. This elder doesn't believe you can raise Wy to be the strong, confident good man as you put it. He also fears that Wy will shift the balance of power."

"I have to believe I can talk to this elder and let him see Wyatt is good. Also stop calling him Wy, his name is Wyatt."

"For everyone's sake I hope you can." P.J. said ignoring Leo's telling them not to use Wy. After all they grew up calling him that. She just put her hand on Melinda's arm and beamed them to the garden Chris had shown them when they first got there.
