Alright! I'm back with another chapter! At first I didn't think I would get this chapter out on time because of the horrible internet service I've had all week. I was out on a vacation, but still had my laptop with me, since I travel solo. It's a whole different fun in that.

I'm glad most of you are enjoying the Elite Four arc. The followers have sky rocketed to fifty. Before I start, I want to address something some of you had pointed out in PMs. A lot of you described May was exceedingly weak last chapter when her Pokemon were pulverized by Ash. That scene was not supposed to describe her as weak. Rather, it was supposed to show how strong Ash is compared to May and how Ash will need to encourage her to get stronger so she can stand up to her own feet once again.

So about this chapter, it's Mega one that captures the battle between Ash and Master Bruno. This was unlike others was quite difficult to write as unlike Lorelei who is an expert in long range special attacks and Koga, the mastermind of suffering, Bruno mostly relies on close combat. I have chosen quite a diverse team most of you wouldn't be expecting.

So please enjoy while reading and do let me know any feedback if you don't mind. I am always happy to hear what you think of the story.

The gong struck!

At the foot of the mountains that bordered Saffron City, lied the Grand Dojo, where Ash's battle was about to take place. This was the holy place where the humans and Pokemon practiced the hardest training of mind and body ever devised, every day without fail, in rain, harsh sunlight and even in the blizzards.

After a trek from their hotel, the gang had reached the school of martial arts, realizing that it had was quite colossal than expected. The largest training center in Kanto ever was right before their eyes. As marveled upon the sight. Right behind these walls was boasting an impressive training arena of 500m that had groups of every fighting Pokemon training and every master of martial arts as they made their way through the grand iron gates. And right somewhere in this monument was Bruno gearing up.

Every Hitmonchan besides its trainer punched the doll with gusto, as they both aimed to impress the returning emperor of combat today. Every Hitmonlee felt a surge of joyous power in its kicks, every Hariyama thrust their arm to push air away and every Machoke lifted more weights than usual.

This building housed paradox pacifists who had mastered the fighting type skills, where the training given here was in harmony with compassion, one must root out darkness. Ash and the gang were grandly welcomed into the dojo by the attendants. Strolling upon those wooden floors from room to the open arena, the battlefield finally came into view. Size that could house a hundred Tauros was being restored by the young teenagers who were apprentices of the temple.

In one corner training was still being resumed. The fights were fierce. Hitmontop and Breloom dueled, exploiting their natural strengths against one another. The match ended with a decisive upside down roundhouse to Breloom's chest.

''Whoa! Mercy isn't found inside these walls are they?'' Misty gaped.

''What can you expect from the birth place of martial arts?'' Brock filled.

A Lucario was next taking on a Blaziken. Though the creature's furious fists were intimidating, Lucario found it all too easy to outspeed it. The jackal managed to trip and push Blaziken out of the ring with a Force Palm, winning through skill… And, a bit of exploitation of technicality.

''Birth place?'' May repeated.

''Oh yeah!'' Ash beamed, holding up a finger to elucidate his point. ''Legend says that Central Kanto was ruled by the times of chaos. Warlord fought warlord and no one was safe. Not even the monarch. His estates were seized, his subjects murdered, and his daughter taken hostage. A peasant found her Imperial Seal while cleaning her room next day, and took it to a monastery in faraway lands, instead of the monarch. A sage resolved to find the wicked warlord and rescue the monarch's son. For despite their peaceful manner, they monks knew a hundred ways to kill a man. The monarch delighted pledged his oath to build a grand temple in the kingdom, where his subjects and citizens could learn the arts considered sacred. Generations passed, and humans and Pokemon began working alike side to side. Through the twists of politics the parts of Kanto were further broken down into cities. And so was Central Kanto. The capital was named as Saffron City. From martial arts, many fighters were produced which had secured the borders of Saffron until one ill-fated day, some mystical forces invaded. They had brought along new species of Pokemon, that weren't discovered yet. They were what we call Psychics. They had unusual powers, like some kind of sorcery. A huge war broke out and the monks and their Pokemon were heavily uprooted with the Psychics hardly receiving any casualties. This fight continued for years, until it all came down to one challenge. The elder of the dojo would compete against the leader of the Psychics, to determine who will take over Saffron. It was a gruesome Pokemon battle that lasted hours, but eventually, the Psychic emerged victorious. However, since times were democratic, it was decided that both troops from both sides would reside in Saffron. A Century later when Pokemon League was introduced, it was coined that Saffron City Gym would be run by the Psychics, and the Fighting Dojo will act as the training center. And this is how their feud was boiled down.''

''Wow,'' Misty marveled. ''Surprising you know that!''

''Hey Misty, how's that brain coming along? Has it liked 2018 yet, cause I hear it was asleep for a long time!''

''So this…is…'' May's eyes gawked out, as the two bickered behind. ''The Grand Dojo that first was…the…''

''The Grand Temple…where martial arts was first seeded in Kanto!'' A deep, gravelly voice completed for her, nearly scaring the coordinator out of her socks. The four of them turned themselves to a dark chamber behind them, from which a gigantic silhouette was making way for them. Even though as he walked, the floor below creaked. Finally, exited the room, the hulk made himself visible in the sunlight. He was a tanned, tall, burly man sporting white trousers with a tattered waist and ankles that are held up by a black belt, shirtless and black wristbands on his wrists. His face was creased and aged, dark irises with prominent eyebrows betraying his old appearance, full of life and energy upon first glance. He had long black hair, tied in a thick ponytail behind, which dangled down his back to his shoulder blades and longish thick sideburns. Immediately every fighter present stopped whatever their activity was, and crouched down, with their head on the floor, as a sign of respect.

Immediately, Brock's and Ash's eyes alike gained those golden stars in their hues.

''Master Bruno!'' they bowed down, leaving the women flabbergasted.

''Master Bruno, it's an honor sir.'' Ash raised himself up. ''I can't describe my excitement. I have been your fan ever since the 16th Mixed Martial Arts Tournament!''

Stolid yet intimidating, the juggernaut brought his impressive physique that no doubt was achieved from years of training, right upon Ash's face, towering over the man. May shrieked, as that man's bulky hand smacked her boyfriend's shoulder eliciting a yelp from him.

''So, made it here at last, didn't you? I had my bets but now I owe Lance a couplo' hundreds!'' he cackled.

''Wow,'' Ash winced, one eye shut from that hand that came pummeling down on him .''Nice to see the Elite Four busy…Oh josh, that's gonna leave a mark!''

The older male raised a brow. ''I personally watched your battle with Lorelei and Koga, kiddo! But, still... I'm surprised to see someone your age up here. Ya gotta be awful tough to rough it out in!''

Considering his behavior from previous matches, Ash unexpectedly returned an amiable expression, slightly softening his hardened glances. ''That shouldn't be surprising, Master Bruno. I believe in my Pokemon, just as they believe in me. And that hasn't changed for a second in these entire years.''

It was like Bruno's ears were just desperate to hear those words. Ruffling the trainer's head, he noticed some others were too dwarfed in his shadow. ''Oh, forgive my manners fellas!'' Bruno guffawed sheepishly, holding the back of his head. ''This kid just took all my attention.''

''Yeah, sometimes just avoid eye contact,'' Misty muttered, closely in Ash's ears as he casted her a side death glare.

''The sweet talker Misty, as always. As a Elite Four member, can't be more proud the way you running Cerulean Gym.'' He shook hands with her, and turned over to Brock. ''And there's the famous doctor everyone knows.''

''Glad to be in your presence, Master Bruno.'' Brock struggled for a smile, as the handshake with the brute was painful enough to pull his arm from the socket.

Noticing a new face amongst the group, Bruno sauntered over to her. ''Hello miss, I believe we have never met before. I am Bruno of the Elite Four.''

''I am May Maple,'' she sweatdropped, but gladly accepted a hand shake and even a kiss on the wrist that Ash didn't take a cherishing to. ''Pleased to meet you.''

Ash's black hues glistened, the man's heart already beginning to race at the thought. ''So Master Bruno, I am all pumped up and ready for our battle!''

The giant turned over, smacking his fists together so hard, that could leave goosebumps on the four's hair. "Excellent, I'm really looking forward to this bout now more than ever with that confident aura you're exuding right now. If you can fare against the other Elites in our region, then let's see how much your strength compares to mine. I see no fear in you, but your eyes, oh yes, I remember them! Your father had the same fire in them!"

Chopping a cinder block into half, Bruno was convinced. ''Ash Ketchum! I hereby accept your challenge! Accompany me to the grandest stage of martial arts, and show me what you got!''

They were all seated together a few rows away from the front in the field upon a bleacher. The officials were already present since morning. Ash was stretching his limbs in his trainer box while Bruno stood on his toes, meditating. The battle would start in a few minutes.

Misty quipped, her tone lightly sardonic but her expression amazed. "Think he'll pull through again like last time?"

''Can't doubt Ash now, can we?'' Brock remarked. "He pulled off a surprise chance attack back with Koga, something quite impossible for every random trainer.''

"Ash's battle style has been unpredictable and versatile in the past, but now packs more punches than ever.'' May added, brushing Pikachu's fur.

"Wouldn't doubt you there, May," Misty concurred.

''This is Mark Topper broadcasting live action from the Grand Dojo, Saffron City as the third episode of Pokemon League Match prepares to get underway! Ash Ketchum, the rising all star is all set to lock horns with the legendary Elite Four, Bruno. This is one radical matchup folks you can't get enough of! Hope all you guys sitting back home are ready coz you are in for a major treat! Now let's hear some rooting and tooting!...oh that's right, I won't be able to hear you guys!''

''Alright!'' Ash pumped his arm. ''I am ready to go and bang! Cheer me on!''

''You got it!'' Brock held a thumbs up.

''And first up is Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town! He is one tough cookie on his own but add his powerful Pokemon to the mix, and you better watch out! Who knows what's he's gonna bring today, but I can say he's a major threat!''

Brows furrowed and eyes shot open, Bruno glared at the adversary. Flexing his muscles, he mirrored an ape thumping his chest.

''And now for the crowd fav! He's the grid iron goliath whose been with the League for more than two decades. One whose idea of a good time is to pick the scabs off the cleat marks on his face. Bruno is known for his wicker ambiguity to hammer such intense power that his opponents are rendered helpless! Hope the pain killers are stocked!''

''I have been looking forward to this battle since last week Ash.'' Bruno opened. ''The time to grind you with our superior power has finally arrived.''

''I have been looking forward to it since I was ten!'' Ash spread out his wrist first, and then grasped all his fingers together in one ball of fist. ''We have undergone the same rigorous training you have. Only difference is we have sharpened our minds as well!''

They were competitors at the moment. And had to battle with the head, and not from the respect.

The judge of the battle marched over to his podium, lowering the flags on both sides. ''This is an official Champion's League Match between the challenger Ash Ketchum and Master Bruno of the Elite Four. Each Trainer will choose five Pokemon as per the challenger's choice. While only Ash Ketchum may substitute, Bruno, however, may not! The battle will continue until one party of either Trainer are unable to battle! There will be no time limit and usage of items are banned in this match. In addition, powering Pokemon through Mega Evolution and Z Crystals are disallowed as well. If found, the match will end in disqualification of the user. Trainers, please choose your Pokemon!''

''Hoo! Hah!'' the martial artist after a series of combat moves, hurled a Pokeball forward. It burst open revealing a beige Pokemon that stood firm ready in a battle stance. A crest of breeze fought its light purple tunic, as the Pokemon shadowboxed in mid air, a habit that was closely linked with his trainer.

''Chan! Hitmonchan!''

''And Bruno's first Pokemon is his Hitmonchan! Watch out for its fast punches folks! They even slice the air! Looks like the pause button on your remotes are gonna take a long brunt!''

''I just got a perfect weapon myself,'' Ash smirked, unhooking his first Pokeball.

''Ooh! I can't hold it! He's gonna choose Charizard, isn't he?'' Misty squealed.

''I got all my bets on Infernape!'' Brock gambled.

''If he's choosing anyone, it's gonna be Sceptile!'' May disagreed.

Winding to throw the ball forward, Ash lobbed the ball into the fray. ''I choose you!''

''Mime!''

Upon being released, Mimey took the traditional defensive stance of its species: knees bent, hands open and up. The three behind him paled into white colors, jaw dropped and hanging, not to reach back up soon anytime.

''Mimey?'' May blinked. ''Why is he choosing Mimey? Hey, isn't that like Mrs Ketchum's Pokemon?''

''Don't ask us,'' Misty exasperated. ''We have never seen him use Mimey in any battle before. I swear as soon as this battle's over, I'm gonna punch out every secret out of him. Including his shoe size!''

''Why his shoe size?'' Brock sweatdropped.

''Cause that might be a secret too! But also because – I was planning to gift him shoes this Christmas…''

''Pika…''

''If Ash has chosen Mimey, he has certainly put a lot of thought behind it,'' May hummed. ''Besides, Mimey's dual type does give him an upper advantage against Hitmonchan.''

''You ready, Mr. Mime?'' Ash asked his fairy type.

''Mime! Mr. Mime!'' the mime artist struck a series of poses.

''And Ash has decided to gain an early advantage with Mr. Mime! Don't be fooled by its looks folks! Mr. Mime is one Pokemon you wouldn't wanna piss off!''

''May the battle begin!''

''Alright Ash, everything depends upon the opening. One small slip-up and I go home,'' Ash grit, throwing a hand out. ''Mimey, Psychic!''

The clown's eyes lit translucent blue, hands pulsing with sapphire energy, that gripped Hitmonchan into its supernatural force. The Punching Pokemon writhed, feeling his insides being twisted. Even though trained hard over the years, it still didn't mean an immunity could be granted, however resistance could be powered.

''Break it!'' Bruno brought his fist down hard.

The two boxing gloves struggled to make a movement, strong mental defiance however proved effective, as Hitmonchan broke the clutches of Psychic.

''Thought so…'' Ash suspired. Surely, Bruno would have trained Hitmonchan against that.

''Bullet Punch!''

Mr. Mime was a part fairy type, so that would be a good move.

''Reflect!'' Ash countered, noting that a Steel Type Move could keep Mimey at bay. At any rate, if Bruno decided to play offensive, that was fine by Ash.

''chan!'' the Punching powerhouse scowled, sprinting forward with powerful haymakers ready. Meanwhile, jaunty as it was, Mimey threw up a pink barrier, strong enough to block the flurry of punches. The powerful limbs collided with the forcefield, barely bending it before flinging the fighting type back.

''Double Slap!'' Ash followed.

Mimey literally leaped into action, for a Pokémon who would spend the day miming theatrical arts, the Barrier Pokemon was surprisingly fast, delivering an absolute beating of slaps upon the foe. When the barrage was over, Hitmonchan was roughly discarded upon the field. It sputtered, eyes with fury as it carefully stood up on its skinny legs. Crippling pain was overwhelming, but these punches had been a daily diet for the past few years. thrilled at sight, pleased with power.

''Smartly played,'' Bruno smirked, lips curling. Just one more strategy he had learned of Ash. ''Try blocking this! Agility and Bullet Punch!''

''Chan….chan…chan….'' the fighting type zipped forward leaving beige trails behind him. Glowing streaks of energy formed a protective cone around him, filling it with power. The fairy type yowled finding himself at the receiving end of the predicament, one jab after the other punching a dent in his face.

But pride was something one cannot get rid of. Eyes lit blue once more, forecasting Hitmonchan's next haymaker. Of all the kung fu sessions he had gained mastery, Mimey efficient dodged a brutal fist, face just swaying past the punch.

''Double Slap!''

Hitmonchan's punches would hurt, for sure, by one should never be the bearer of a 's slaps. Swinging that magenta pad hard across the Hitmonchan's face, the Punching Pokemon doubled over, face smacked left and right by those whopping slaps.

''Look at that folks! is thwacking Hitmonchan around like a helpless ball of twine!''

At once, was he at Mimey's mercy, the Barrier Pokemon stopped the motherly assault that mirrored Delia, as the boxing humanoid staggered dizzily.

''Whoa…just looking at Mimey go,'' Misty muttered.

''Focus Punch!'' Ash followed, fully intending to take advantage of Hitmonchan's daze.

''Mime!'' the clown leaped into action once again, drawing his fist tat coated silver white.

''Detect!'' Bruno roared.

Brought back to reality by that shrieking command, Hitmonchan's fighting instincts aided him in the battle, swooping out of the way of 's assault.

''Sky Uppercut!''

Just the second Hitmonchan landed safely from the evasion, it faster he lunged at Mimey, catching the fairy type off-guard with a swift uppercut.

''Mime!'' the clown soared upwards, landing upon the field, whimpering.

''Darn it!'' Ash growled. ''Can you get up!''

''Mime!'' Now the psychic type was pissed off.

''chan!'' Hitmonchan taunted, holding out a fist.

''Mime! Mr. Mime!'' it chided.

''Double Slap / Bullet Punch!'' both trainers divided the screen, outstretching an hand.

This was the call both were waiting for. Fighting spirits raised, the clownish contender and the king of punches dashed at one another in one close brutal call. Hitmonchan showed off his superior speed, sending forth nearly a dozen of punches, overwhelming Mimey. The latter, in a cry for retribution, Mimey spun, smacking the Punching Pokemon over and over with furious slaps as retaliation. Hitmonchan stumbled on footing, face red and swollen.

''These two Pokemon are surely giving it their all! These two surely mean business!''

''Psychic!''

The psychic type did seem raggedy and a little disheveled, but made a point to obey its trainer, not quite sure if Ash was subordinate or permanent. But that would be a tale for another day. Hands threw out, a powerful force wrapped Hitmonchan as he was lifted high into the air, flailing about as his body was being controlled by someone else and commanded to go further upward.

Ash grinned widely, thrilled that battle was working in his favor. Finding himself suspended against the psychic hold, try as he may, Hitmonchan was immobile. Before, he'd knew it, he was yanked down hard on the floor, spilling a curtain of dust and dirt.

Hitmonchan's silhouette revealed to be struggling as he was crouched down, hacking for breathe. He still had fight left in him and had absolutely no plans to sacrifice his consciousness today, not at least without taking the clown down first. Even through battered, strong muscles lifted him back up and he leaped outside the crater he was pummeled with.

''Talk about absolute being irrepressible…'' Ash mused.

''Well kid, I gotta hand it you!'' Bruno grinned, gushing with confidence. ''You ain't much of a crack shot I thought you would be. But me and my Pokemon have gone extreme and that's how we became strong. We are Kanto's best trained warriors.''

Ash smirked. Witty as naturally, he widened his grin. ''You are trained, right? But we…'' he punched forward. ''are born warriors! So bring it, whatcya' got in store for us!''

''And maybe we will! Agility and Mega Punch!'' Bruno cackled.

Once again, Hitmonchan dashed along the field, speed totally beyond Mr. Mime's vision to monitor from afar. Feeling a heat from the body temperature had appeared behind him, Mimey's only mistake was to look behind. An incredible rocking punch sent Mimey bouncing off the field. Ash winced, while Pikachu was even in worse condition, struggling to leap out of May's arms. He knew, Mimey hadn't went through extensive training like all the others have and so there would be a huge difference in endurance.

''Mime, Mr. Mime!'' the Barrier Pokemon, now provoked, lifted himself.

''Charge Beam!''

Mimey tensed, thrusting his palms in the air. Lightning came to life all around its body, consolidating at a single point between the hands, forming a crackling orbs of sizzling electricity. The surge increased and Mimey let go of it, with the arc of electricity heading straight for Hitmonchan.

''Detect!'' Bruno commanded in a low voice.

Effortlessly dodging, Hitmonchan's reaction time increased enough to watch the loose beam pass him to strike stone wall behind, powerful enough to leave a crater. However, as his eyes left the crater, so did the vision advancement. Hitmonchan didn't comprehend a smack smearing across his face, and then another.

''Gear up!'' Bruno yelled, raising is fist in a boxing stance. ''Bullet Punch!''

Soon, the two went blow for blow. Hitmonchan, obviously more experienced in such battles, and a king of the ring, was striking much harder for the clown to retaliate. However, those slaps were quite the answer for the punches delivered. Arms were starting to ache, and soon a small distance was created between the two fighters. Hitmonchan kneeled, heaving deep breaths as exhaustion began to take a toll.

Mimey too panted, his limbs were too numb to allow him to groom.

''Hoo! Ra!'' Bruno delivered a swift kick. ''At least, we are still standing firm. You should take this signal, and throw in the towel!''

''Your weakness is you're all punches!'' Ash spat. ''Not a reason enough to throw the towel. Nothing ever will be! Mimey, you got this!''

''Punches are all we need, son! They win the day!'' Bruno growled evilly. ''You're worthy. So, I'll give your pantomimer a nice sleeping present. Be astounded to witness the outcome of our rocky trainings! Hitmonchan's pinnacle crasher: the arts of all punches in one Bloody Mash!'' Flexing his bulks, Bruno roared. ''Show them, Hitmonchan!''

''Reflect!''

Hitmonchan hiked into the air, one glove glowing with icy cyan power, that froze the limb, while the other was enveloped in a scorching fest.

''Look at that combination!'' Misty gasped. ''Is something like even possible to achieve?''

Though Mimey was able to throw a barrier in time, Hitmonchan could not be stopped by such a move, though he was slowed. The glass shielded a puzzled Mimey at best, against battering of elemental punches. One such, golden fist arrived from the blinding flurry that shattered the glass into pieces, enough to land a devastating haymaker into the Barrier Pokemon's abdomen.

''Man, that sure had to be a Brick Break!'' Ash bit, face paling and throat gulping as the horrid thought of a demon version of his mom hovering above his head.

Hitmonchan was one Pokemon, to whom mercy was an alien definition during a fight. He kept his assault continued, one fist of fire striking, one chilly fist of ice bruising, and one sizzling fist of electricity shocking kept up. The boxing ring was where Hitmonchan transformed years of pain into moments of immense suffering, as if he was beating that torment from one another's bones.

It was cruel, but in a fight, the foes hit to hurt. Mimey wailed, one final strike of the overhead punches ricocheting it off the dirt, flying back at high speed. Not able to bear from all those emotions, Pikachu leapt off away from May, dashing at the trainer box. The trainer (Ash) didn't need any further sign as he fled from his ring, diving to catch the battered fairy type. However, one small calculation was missed, and Ash dropped on the floor first, cushioning the impact of Mr. Mime, landing safely on his back.

''Ash!'' May cried, vaulting from the bench. She knew she should be there for him but this was a battle, where all rules were out the window.

''Are you okay, Mimey?'' Ash groaned, his chin ached, but thankfully Mr. Mime was still restive.

''Pika Pi?!''

''Mime?'' Even in excruciating pain, the clown blinked surprised upon what he had landed. This kid, whom it had seen grown up, went lengths to save Mr. Mime from that nasty fall. Tears welled in its eyes, but didn't end its resolve. That someone, who caused this needed to be punished, and that someone was standing right there, taunting Mimey with a gloved fist.

Mimey regained its bearings, but the bruise in his face had appeared, and that hurt not only his face, but also self-pride. Employing some telekinesis, it hovered back upon its shoes. Now, the boxer had dug himself a hole he just couldn't get out of. Ash noticed Mimey's fuming, and it heralded, things weren't gonna be good for Hitmonchan for the day.

''Mime, !''

''Huh?'' Ash, now that his back was without a passenger, stood back up on the open field. ''You still want to continue?''

''Mime! Mr. Mime!'' brows furrowed, the Barrier Pokemon determined.

''If you say so!'' Ash smiled, heart swelled with pride that Mimey mirrored his determination. Narrowing his eyes with a cold stare, Pokemon and trainer alike sized Hitmonchan up. ''Alright Mimey, they showed us their best. Now let's give them something to remember.''

''Mr. Mime!' the fairy-psychic hybrid smirked.

''A hot-headed Pokemon you got there!'' Bruno remarked.

Taking a deep breath, Ash retaliated. ''You call yourself 'Master' of the martial arts, eh? Well, a rule you should be familiar with: it isn't the number of years of training that makes you stronger, but the courage and sheer determination to achieve it, with the right attitude of mind. It's not the mountains to climb that wear you out, it's the pebble in the shoe. Don't you agree.''

''One of my favorite inspirations, deeply narrated, but helpfully inspired.''

''Then behold, as we bring you our own kung fu style: a style quite new to you! A style we call, the defensive arts! Reflect!''

Mimey pantomimed, hands flailing fast to create a sturdy wall. Again a shield was created, making it two. Countless more Reflects were created hovering above the battlefield. Hitmonchan blinked, bewildered upon the glass sheets levitating above the ground. More pink faint shields appeared across the field. The hulk knew well that his opponent had to be planning a finishing move. But he wouldn't let them set it up.

''Brick Break!''

Hitmonchan rushed, ignoring the multiple reflects multiplying above him.

''Psychic!''

The mime was quick to obey. The impenetrable glasses enveloped in blue lights, in act of accordance with its silent, telepathically delivered commands. Two Reflects closed in at Hitmonchan, whose quick reflexes made him punch through the walls. Had he had any eyes on the back, he could have anticipated a group of Reflects arriving from behind.

Smacked hard against the boxer's back, they thrust him forward. Mimey, gained full control of his rage, propelled another set of reflects mixed with Psychic, smacked hard against the Hitmonchan's front. The two sets of thick sheets of Reflects sandwiched the fighting type, squeezing the air out of him, as he heaved for breath.

''Charge Beam!''

With a brilliant lightning of flash, the odorous scent of ozone flooded the field, as Charge Beam dissipated (excess electricity absorbed back into Mimey), its target struck true, and felled within the trap laid for him.

''Darn it!'' Bruno growled. ''Break through!''

Muscles, limb however they may be, contained strength enough for Hitmonchan to separate them. Struggling to stand from all that steam leaving him, he hobbled with difficulty.

''You can punch, but you can't run…'' Ash teased, finger wiggling.

''Is that a challenge to test our footwork?'' Bruno raised a brow. ''Agility and Bullet Punch!''

''Reverse Psychology at its best…'' Ash shook his head sideways. ''Grass Knot!''

Standing legs crossed, leaned against an invisible wall, Mimey whistled. Hitmonchan broke into a sprint that made him nearly invisible on the battlefield, making him quite a difficult target. But his aim of landing a punch was disturbed by his shoe caught in entwinement of slender tendrils, that he was full confident never ever was a part of this field before. The humanoid shrieked, toppling over, face first.

''Once again, Psychic on Reflect!''

Mr. Mime had the luck on being on the same team as the genius. Carefully employing his psychic powers, carefully organizing them to contain the violent one punch man in a cube.

''Brick Break!'' Bruno roared

For no reason, Mr. Mime had decided to make a ridicule of its opponent. When Hitmonchan drew his fist to shatter the glass in front, the one from behind would accelerate forward and thwack him. If Hitmonchan turned, the same thing would happen. This way, the poor fighter was cornered in a cubicle, whimpering for a fair fight. Using keen sense of experience, one fast volley of Brick Breaks did leave a window for Hitmonchan out for the open.

But Mimey still had a couple of pranks in him he wouldn't let go off just yet. Using Psychic on the sharp shards, Mimey used them to jab (slightly) into Hitmonchan's bottom, who wailed comically, springing on his foot, brushing off the shards, on his tunic carefully.

Bruno blinked, frowning upon the ridiculous battling style. ''You call that kung fu? What kind of crappy style is that?''

''Any style is good if you got a great Trainer?'' Ash winked, casting a mocking grin. ''Don't you know. Kung fu lives in everything we do.'' Ash turned to the fairy type. ''Now Mimey, Double Slap!''

The fairy type, who had enough of its tickles, sprang into action, aiming to whack Hitmonchan good. Surely, the nimble movements would make a good difference.

''Detect!''

Hitmonchan succeeding in evading the slaps again, visualizing Mimey's impeding moves towards him through raised clarity of perception. Mimey didn't stop his onslaught, continuing to smack empty air in front of Hitmonchan's face, as the latter's feet sidestepped every whip now and then.

Neither the hulk nor this Pokemon noticed the Punching Pokemon was nearing to an invisible wall from all that evasion. If something was at peak right now, it was Ash's heightened calculation of geometry he had plotted to rope in Hitmonchan.

''Now, Grass Knot, once again!''

Once again, Hitmonchan's (this time heel) trip over thick grass, making him stagger and hit the wall, leaving a face print.

''Grrrr….Mega Punch! All might!''

Springing into action in nearly an instant, Hitmonchan leapt above the field, deciding he had had enough of pesky tricks for today. He drew his fist back, red gloved outlined with a gold shimmering ready to strike the vulnerable, wide eyed Mime.

''And for the main event! Foul Play!''

The Barrier Pokemon adjusted its posture, compensating for it. Grabbing the soaring and heated glove, Mimey did wince at the sensation, but the fruit of victory was worth all that pain. Mimey caught the boxer so tight the pugilist couldn't make an escape for it.

Throwing his weight backwards, Mimey used Hitmonchan's own strength against him, throwing him over its head. Hitmonchan landed in a heap, clouded in dust. Curious and confident, Mimey turned around, worn out itself.

Sprawled into the heap, Hitmonchan was revealed out cold, unconscious as could be.

''~chan…'' he groaned.

''Hitmonchan is unable to battle! Mr. Mime wins!''

''Alright!''

''And the first score has arrived! Those rooting for Hitmonchan, put another shrimp on the barbeque mates, coz this one's definitely over! The scores is now one to nothing!''

Retrieving the pugilist from the field, Bruno smiled down at the capsule apologetically. ''You gave it all you got huh? Thanks.''

Huffing and puffing, Mimey wiped some sweat from its forehead. To say battling is easy would be an understatement. Its injuries, were limit to a few punches, that's all.

''Awesome job, Mimey!'' Ash leaped down from the trainer box, lavishing his companion with praise. ''That was an intense battle, and you really outdid yourself!''

Beamed at the compliment, Mimey grinned wide. ''Mime, Mr. Mime!''

''Pika pi!'' the small rodent waved, praising for the Barrier Pokemon's efforts.

''Mime!'

''Look at that…'' Misty whispered, with shimmering eyes gazing at her best friend affectionately. ''He pulled through. I didn't think he'd stand a chance and yet here he is, having beaten two of the best trainers in Kanto already. Even if I put two to two, I can never imagine all the hard work they have been through…''

''you're right, but if there's a guy who enjoys hard work as much as we resent it, it's Ash Ketchum.''

''Well, I should give Mr. Mime credit for hanging in there for so long. Obviously, you are training it well,'' Bruno remarked, as Mimey gleefully looked at Ash. ''Your defensive style of battling was very much intriguing in contrast to my style of offense and raw power.''

''Thanks, Mr. Bruno.'' Ash chuckled, stroking Mimey's back.

''That being said, I am more aroused than ever!'' Bruno drew his arm back, winding it up and chucking a fresh new capsule out. Spinning straight ward, it burst open. The ground rumbled upon the Rock Snake's appearance, eyes looked outraged, the obvious signs of a short-tempered Pokemon. An earth-rattling roar followed, as Onix slammed his tail of boulders against the ground, with sort of a malice only a truly enraged Pokemon could exhibit.

''Whoa! Look at the size of that thing! If I could feel any better, I just learned why the field here is so big!''

''What is that? Two Onix in one?'' May gawked, head perked so high to gape at Onix, her eyes fell prey to the blinding sunlight.

''This brings back memories,'' the doctor smiled.

''It sure does,'' Misty agreed. ''Just imagine how powerful must Onix be now.''

''What are you peeps talking about?'' May mused, curious.

''Oh it was one of our gallant tales. We had first encountered Master Bruno, and suddenly this Onix had ran amuck, scaring the bones out of us. Luckily, he jumped in and calmed Onix down, turned out a Sandslash had stuck somewhere in one of its chains. And the story ends with him catching Onix.'' Misty explained.

''Is this the one where Ash chased you with a rock?'' May question.

Coughing, Misty lied. ''No…''

''Mime…'' the barrier pokemon trembled over the size, the snout directed at it and angry eyes staring icily down below at the fairy type.

''I know what you're thinking off,'' Ash smiled down at the mime. ''You don't wanna continue, do you?''

''Mime…''

''It's okay,'' Ash assured with a grin. ''You did your job anyways.''

''Mime?''

''Yeah, I don't want to pressurize you unnecessarily. So why don't you take a break?''

''Mime, Mr. Mime!'' the clown nodded.

Grinning at the silly clown, Ash turned over to the referee. ''Sir, my Mr. Mime does not wish to continue. Can you please put him off the battle.''

Puzzled, but something within his power, the judge nodded. ''Yes sure.'' Bringing down a red flag on Ash's side, he declared. ''Trainer Ash has decided to forfeit Mr. Mime for the rest of the battle! As a result the score is now tied to one each!''

''Hey! Just when I was gonna place my bets on Mr. Mime!''

Hand in hand, Ash accompanied Mr. Mime to the seats, letting his friends scoot over on the bench.

''Now, just sit and relax, okay. Cheer on us.'' Ash smiled, handing his Pokemon a juice box. He was so proud of the mime, he couldn't express it. All he wanted after the battle was to call his mom, and describe Mimey's courage today.

''Mime, Mr. Mime!'

''You were awesome, Mimey!'' Misty leaned, remarking the fairy type.

''Yeah, that was so cool!'' Brock joined.

''Mime!''

''Say Ash, what plans do you have for Onix over there?'' May hummed, placing a hand over her eyes to capture the sight of the rock type.

Unclipping a new capsule, Ash with a cocky smirk looked down at it. ''I got something big too.''

''You plan on using Snorlax again?'' Misty raised her brows.

''It isn't Snorlax,'' Ash declined looking at her. ''Watch.''

Marching back into his trainer box, Ash cracked his neck bones, before simply dropping the sphere in hand down below. The Pokeball landed on the floor, wiggled for the Pokemon inside, was eager to be free. The ball parted and a light escaped, the bolt reached a particular spot on the floor, and grew, and grew and kept growing.

Onix's growls were answered with even a larger ferocious roar. The Pokemon Ash had chosen revealed his teeth, jaws so sharp they could leave bite four feet long. No other prehistoric Pokemon had a reputation worse than Tyrantrum, possibly the largest land predator of his time. A quintessential monster, a dinosaur with an attitude, descended from millions of years of evolution. He gives testament to his bloodline. His roar is long and loud, and he is old and wise, emboldened with the gift of unrelenting strength... He is the anti-hero of the new times.

''Oh good jolly! When you think you have seen everything in this business. How many battles do you get to see where the king Tyrantrum is pitted against the savage slammer, Onix! Looks like time has come to roll and show us what's in store!''

''What the freak is that thing?'' Misty's eyes practically gawked out.

''Man look at the size of that thing…'' Brock hummed. ''I have never seen a Tyrantrum this big before.''

''You have seen that ting before?'' May tilted her head.

''Oh yeah, remember, Pewter City also has a Museum of Science, where paleontologists all over the world bring fossils from various regions to examine.''

''Someone just whip out Rotom, if you please?'' Misty badgered.

''Tyrantrum, the Despot Pokemon. This Pokémon is from about 100,000,000 years ago. It has the presence of a king, vicious but magnificent. A single bite of Tyrantrum's massive jaws will demolish a car. This Pokémon was the king of the ancient world.''

''How can Ash land a Pokemon like that?'' May gasped.

''I don't know, but I am sure getting one for my Gym,'' Brock answered.

Tyrantrum exhaled another deafening screech, leaning his head forward at Onix. The other Pokemon was surprised at this new arrival but still far from giving it a scare.

''Well, you sure came prepared, huh?'' Bruno punched his feet into his gut.

''I had a feeling you would be using Onix, so I brought a powerhouse of my own.'' Ash replied.

''Show me what your rock got against mine!'' Bruno took a combat stance.

''Round Two: Begin!''

''Dragon Tail!''

Tyrantrum's muscular tail lifted up, lit with an emerald glow, and the Despot Pokemon promptly whipped around, lashing his tail at an angle to glance Onix.

''Counter with Iron Tail!''

Onix focused, sizing the giant limb headed its way. His tail hummed with steel power, turning deep grey into shining silver-white. Arched high, the snake's tail almost dwarfed Tyrantrum, and the two limbs clashed, sending shockwaves among the field. Metal collided with mystic brutal power of a dragon, none accepting any kind of inferiority.

''And the second round is off to a rocking start! Are you guys listening to this! I can't get enough of that old school rumble beat!''

The giants growled, retracting their tails from the combat.

''Double Edge!''

''Iron Defense!''

A defiant snort was Tyrantrum's acknowledgement, body shimmering in a silver streak. Onix's head sped across the field, casting a huge shadow over the royal carnivore. Head struck against the ancient legend's midsection, every efforts of Onix wasted, as Tyrantrum skillfully held strong against the reckless tackle. Bouncing off, Onix roared in agony. It was beginning to contemplate, he had met his match.

''Stealth Rock!''

A silver illumination flashed over the field. Onix lifted itself, orchestrating a volley of large stones from itself. Tyrantrum, for his part, remained in place, silently gazing at the jagged boulders levitating, setting up an entry hazard for next in line behind him.

''As anticipated.'' Brock cerebrated. ''Every time Ash makes a switch, the Pokemon takes a damage.''

''Bruno must have expected that Ash would have chosen a flying type for today, right?'' Misty turned for advice.

''That is correct,'' the doctor nodded.

''Say Brock, aren't all prehistoric Pokemon partly or fully rock types? Could you weigh in and tell us if Tyrantrum stands a chance against Onix, and if I recall, you owned one, didn't you?'' May asked.

''Let's see, both of them are Rock Types, but if you look into stats, with Tyrantrum, Ash needs to be focused more of a defensive strategy. A Pokemon like Onix is better as a heavy hitter, bt Tyrantrum is the perfect choice for a lengthy battle.''

''raw..'' Tyrantrum softly growled, smoke exhaled from his nostrils.

''Alright Tyrantrum, use Draco Meteor!'' Ash threw a hand forward.

The T-Rex grinned with a glint in his eyes, channeling a perfect orange sphere in his wide maw, launched in the air. Everyone set their eyes in the sky, alarmed as hazardous arms of destruction began to burst all over the battlefield.

''Dig!''

The meteors pelted the field, detonating in seemingly every place on the ground. A blazing meteor such caught one of Onix's belt on fire, ruining its balance mid-sprint. Barely escaping before exposing its chain of rocks to showers of meteors, Onix burrowed underground, safe from Tyrantrum's sights.

''Look at the hole, folks! I wouldn't be surprised, if Onix discovers water down there!''

''Onix can't be underground for long..zzz...It has to surface up some time..''

''No shit Sherlock,'' Misty deadpanned.

Irked, Rotom levitated in front of the squinty eyed doctor. ''Can you smack her for me?''

''Tyrantrum, get Onix out of there! Use -!''

Ash's command was interjected by Onix's irreverence, as the rock type tore from the ground, sharp horn jabbing Tyrantrum out of the park. The Despot Pokemon roared out in agony, vowing to get back at this newfound rock serpent for a sneak attack like that, which was against the glory of the royal carnivore.

Seething, the theropod regained his bearing upon muscular legs, plates glistening under the sunlight.

''Get back with Iron Head!''

Tyrantrum released a ringing roar, and charged forward, a silver aura grew around his crown as he lumbered forward, gigantic feet shaking the ground with each step. In an act of retaliation, sharp spiky head crashed brutally against Onix's jaw, making its body segment hit the ground.

''Dig, one more time!'' Bruno combated.

Hearing its trainer once more; Onix straightened itself and crashed against the ground, burrowing underground again, with the last giant portion of its tail, flailing.

''Quick, grab the tail with Crunch!''

Sharp glowing fangs grabbed the remnants of Onix, holding them up in Tyrantrum's jaws. Teeth that could bite even through steel, would have rocks in his mouth like meatballs. Somewhere, underneath, Onix was wailing out in pain. It couldn't accelerate any further under the earth, as a giant dinosaur was tugging it out.

''Now, while you still have Onix in your mouth, use Earthquake!''

Agreeing with Ash's strategy on this, Tyrantrum's nails to a silver glow, slamming the heavy foot down. The earth exploded and glowing white waves went outward in every direction, shaking every inch of the battlefield. Dirt broke up into individual sections and churned back and forth, instantly causing everyone to lose its footing and fall to the ground. The break in the ground, rattled Onix horribly. Loose chunks of earth were shaking from the sides, burying Onix under their weight.

''Whoa! This has gone too far and it's a long drop for Onix to the bottom! Now that's what I call deep trouble!''

''Owww…'' May winced, as her butt landed on the floor. ''That almost shook my insides.''

''…zzzz…wish you were a Dexter, now, wouldn't you?''

Jaws still latched on Onix's end, Tyrantrum displayed remarkable strength in dragging out the rock type from the earth, with Onix as the rope and Earth as the adversary. Spitting the tail out, Tyrantrum sneered away at the angry regional rock type, for whom now, this had got beyond sportsmanship. Onix raised itself, hissing at the reptile.

''Rock Polish!''

Onix thundered, slithering to coil in a circle around Tyrantrum, now agile than ever.

''Now, Iron Tail!''

Still orbiting, Onix charged its tail in a luster of a silver coat, raining his wrath down upon Tyrantrum from all sides. A choked gagging sound echoed out before Tyrantrum floundered.

''Keep going!'' Bruno raised a punch, knowing they needed to barrage the dragon as much as they could.

The Despot Pokemon screeched, pelt by the strikes, reddening his body.

''Draco Meteor!''

Growling at the sky amidst of being lashed, the ferocious theropod summoned down a rain of draconic energy to pummel down his opponent. Distorted by the meteors, Onix took each blow that stung its body. Glad that it was made of rocks, or else those meteors would sure have made boils on any other hide.

''Payback!''

While Tyrantrum's strength was recovering, a nasty snarl left Onix's muzzle. It rushed towards Tyrantrum, horn on its head glowing with dark energy. When the Payback landed, Tyrantrum faltered, another nasty devastating blow landed. Debris shattered around the huge crater created by the impact, the booming crack of rock against rock, as his head rattled against the ground signaled Onix's payback was filled with hatred and retribution.

Ash's eyes furrowed: colossal as they both were, this was bounded to get ugly.

A defiant yet low growl relieved Ash of his worries. Tyrantrum was still alive in this matchup, but body was a poor condition. Tyrantrum's eyes were drooping heavily, but a blurry vision of Ash stood in front of him, his trainer's eyes met his, and in those auburn eyes, the mighty dinosaur saw nothing but sentiments and worry. Those eyes told him everything, that Ash was willing to go under the same pain Tyrantrum was.

Even with a closed eye, the fossil Pokemon kept gazing at him…

The Pokemon Fossil Research Lab in the Kalos Region, where history and reality are made to join hands together, where ancient relics of the past form a form a physical substance, through means of scientific technology. Many prehistoric Pokemon lurk in these four walls of a compound, where they have made a world of their own. These Pokemon evolved along with the rest of the creation you see in this age, they need the plants that are here, the other Pokemon and insects too... they even have different gut bacteria than in the millennia to come.

Only a prey animal speaks of the teeth and the claws. Humans speak of the beauty of the prehistoric mammals comfortable in their safety from them. They have the tech, the suits, and so they are a sort of conservation mission.

Tyrunt was an euphoric toddler, born of only a few weeks ago. Battling the bushes, he made through, sighting his neighbors of Kabuto and Omastars, and he was thrilled, laughing as only a baby can laugh a sweet sound unblemished by the hurts of life. He was the only species of the Royal Heir Pokemon that was resurrected to life. No doubt there, as even in those eras, not everyone was a king, and this defined Tyrunt as a rare Pokemon. Being the only one around never disappointed him of his loneliness, as he was provided with a family already. He would play all day with his little gang of Cranidos and Shieldons.

It all happened one afternoon, a harrowing purple fog had invaded somehow into the research facility. Ever exhaling, the curious cloud of purple quickly dissipated on the wind. Breathing it, all the Pokemon were lulled, sudden sleep arising inside them and they sprawled on the floor. Shaded beneath the shadow cast by their clever contraption, the poachers watched in eager anticipation. Their leader was in a corner, taking tally of the Pokémon species present. He wondered if they had prepared enough.

''Monsieur, these will fetch us a handsome price in the market!'' one grunt boasted, more than proud of their hunt bearing fruit.

Every scientist in the dorm was put asleep. In no time, the criminals were successful to snag off Pokemon inside the trucks filled with cages, and the innocent Pokemon lined inside each metallic cube, peacefully dormant with no realization of being robbed. Capturing their fair share, the hunters drove off.

A speed bump on a road, caused one Pokemon in the truck to wake up startled. Tyrunt's eyes couldn't find anything in the pitch darkness. Being larger than some of his companions, the steel cage didn't allow him the privilege to move freely, and he began to shrug off his imprisonment with added effort. Just an infant, Tyrunt didn't possess enough strength to chomp down metal.

Obviously he was scared. After a small whimper, Tyrunt's only cry for attention was to screech out a wail. That only helped to wake up all his caged friends. Suddenly, it felt like they had stopped moving. A few seconds passed, as door to the storage flew open, letting some of the sunlight enter the rear of the truck.

''Hey what gives!'' one poacher grunted.

''It's this wretched Rexy here!'' one of them identified the source of the whimper, jabbing Tyrunt with a staff. ''Shut it there!''

''How did this happen!''

''Beats the hell out of me! Maybe those damn gas cans weren't strong enough!''

''Looks like we gotta try some other way to put them to sleep! We gotta pass a city, and if that thing makes noise, we're done for!''

''Kyle, stun that thing into oblivion!'' the leader ordered. ''I don't want this mud rider to stop anywhere else!''

Obedient, the poacher pulled out a device, what could only be a taser. Wincing from the strokes, Tyrunt's eyes shot open, as the human took an aim, only when~

''Ice Beam!''

A jagged beam of freezing energy hit the man, encasing him inside a block of ice.

''What the!'' the leader gasped.

''Boss, looks like we were being snooped!''

Alarmed, the raised their heads to the sky, spotting an orange figure edging closer to them. It revealed to be an angry Dragonite, of course, the cause of the Ice Beam, carrying a teenager that didn't seem any older than eighteen.

''Hey! Mind your own business, kid or I'll carve your face out!'' the leader pulled out a knife. No chance in hell they were gonna let this enterprise fail.

''You'll pay for meddling where you don't belong!''

Nonchalant as ever, Ash answered. ''I have been dealing with criminals my whole life. Just try driving off on my watch!''

''I just know how to deal with you pests!'' the leader roared.

In coordinated action, the five pulled out their capsules, and threw them in the fray, releasing a Mightyena, Hariyama, Skuntank, Toxicroak and a Malamar.

''Pikachu, Thunderbolt!''

Pikachu sprung from Dragonite's neck, somersaulting to unleashing a brutal flash of electricity. Golden currents enveloped the five Pokemon, and humans alike, and they dropped like corpses, piling on each other. Fear was further drove right into the hearts of the poachers.

However, those sparks turned into a full on Thunder attack as he called down a massive amount of energy, many own. He dispersed it, sending out a wave of electronic disrupting pulses among the trucks. This triggered an override on the cages in the back of them, releasing all of the Pokémon held within.

This prompted a shrill shout from all the poachers. The truck was left in shambles, allowing the myriad of captured clueless Pokemon to swarm out into the sunlight. Free of their captors at last. Looking up from their muddy sanctuary, the one in charge look up at the chaos. All of those powerful, pre-trained Pokémon: free! "Get in your trucks!" he once again ordered, running to his own.

''Iron Tail!''

Pikachu flipped, strong hardened extremity slashing open Tyrunt's cage, as the Royal Heir Pokemon tumbled out, eyes fawning over Ash.

''raw!''

"Argh… Call off the mission!" He barked at his fellows who remained. "This one has failed!"

"But, boss…!" One of them started.

"I said move it! Take the wild Pokémon you've caught and we'll leave with what we have."

"...Yes, sir." The protesting poacher, along with the remainder who'd overheard began to round up the others and spread the word.

"Now, to put this embarrassment to an end," he growled. With all the wild Pokémon, there was really no need to divulge exactly what had happened… Then again, all the damaged equipment, they'd have to come up with some sort of excuse.

It was hard to believe things could get much worse. The pool of prehistoric Pokemon swarmed over, assaulting the hunters with their Water Gun and Mud Shot.

Tyrunt squeaked, approaching their savior. ''runt…''

Ash blinked, bowing down. ''Hey, whats up? They didn't hurt you much did they?''

The infant shook his head, understanding every word of the human language.

A gun fire forced all the Kabuto and Omastar to separate themselves from the men and flee, leaving behind the five men hacking for breath, the leader among them was in worst shape from all those sharp scythes on this body. His hand was raised in the air, holding the artillery, finger ready to pull the trigger.

''This is all because of your meddling,'' the commander panted. ''You don't know who you are messing with! But it's all because of that meat eating fella!'' he aimed the gun at Tyrunt. ''You guys are not a part of this world! Your era ended million years ago!''

In that suspended moment Ash's heart stopped beating, the strong early light shining strongly from the steel barrel of the revolver. The poacher's face split a grin as he held it like all the cops do on the TV shows. The bullet spat out from the gun, but never hit Tyrunt. The rock type's pupils contracted, in his eyes reflected, this stranger just jumping in front of him, as the bullet hit the man's arm, propelling him backwards in an awkward cartwheel. Blood soaked into his sleeve, radiating outward. The dark hole that caused the blood in Ash's arm was visible.

''Pika!''

''drawww!''

Exasperating, he smiled, face passive enough to assure his Pokemon. ''This? This is no problem. I am fine.''

This drove Tyrunt in an Outrage. Fuming at the man who fired the shot, Tyrunt bared his fangs. To this day, the man never lived to tell his grandchildren, why Tyrunt line has the best teeth on them..

''Onix, end this with Iron Tail!''

Happy to follow its trainer's orders, Onix towered over the fallen Tyrantrum, cladding its tail in metal, swinging it before bringing it down to smash the T'Rex's jaws, much like to hammer him like a game of High-Striker.

''I can't watch!'' May winced, diverting her attention from the battle.

An emerald glowing limb of spikes smacked into Onix face-first, breaking its concentration of Iron Tail. Shaking off the pain, the Rock Snake saw double for a moment, adjusting its vision. In a rush of adrenaline, Tyrantrum's tail jacked up the theropod by his legs first, and the dragon was one again on his feet, screeching furiously. It was the kind of scream that bypasses the ears to speak right to the heart.

''And guess what! Tyrantrum is back in the game! Oh man! This has been one barbaric ride!''

''Awesome, Tyrantrum!'' Ash cheered.

A layer of purple and yellow crackled to life around Tyrantrum's crown.

''Hey,'' Ash whispered, ope-mouthed.

''zzzz…I have received an update…zzzz…Tyrantrum has just learned the move Giga Impact!''

''That's awesome! Tyrantrum!'' Ash howled, ''Giga Impact!''

Like a raptor, the Despot Pokemon sped forward, blood rushing excitedly. The veil of explosive energy spiraled around his body.

''Double Edge!''

Onix sprinted forward, horn-first.

The two energies clashed with vigor, booming the field. Head struggled against head, plenty of overflowing power to boot. There was no way they were both going to be able to walk away from that

''Incredible,'' May muttered. Mimey chattered excitedly besides Pikachu, who blinked, clearly taken aback.

The colliding attacks stirred the winds wild, before disbanding completely. Ash was forced to shield his eyes with his arm, legs braced and locked to hold off the shock wave emanating from the collision.

The smoke soon began to clear, and Tyrantrum lay in the middle of the field, unmoving. Steam danced over his unconscious form, residual effects of the thunderous clash. Onix coiled not far from him, also floored by the collision.

''Both Tyrantrum and Onix are unable to battle! This round ends in a draw!''

The jumbotron updated the result, making both contenders Pokemon eliminated.

''Wow! The score gets tied once again! That was one wild lash of the titans I would wanna see again!''

Ash sighed, returning Tyrantrum inside the capsule. ''Thanks for toughing it out, big guy. You took down the strongest member of his team. Have a nice, long rest.''

Ash tucked away Tyrantrum's Pokeball and watched Bruno do the same with Onix. The elder man stared a hole through Ash. The raven haired trainer sniffed some air.

''I think it's smart enough to say Ash had to go all out against Bruno's Pokemon,'' May weighed in. ''But of course, they do have more experience.''

A Pokéball was grabbed off his belt, held outward toward their opponent before Ash turned back, winding up before lobbing the ball towards the battlefield.

''kooroo!'' Decidueye hooted, cloak billowing out behind him as he did so. However, his freedom from his Pokeball was only shortlived, as sudden rocks came pelting the grass type.

Smirking, Bruno let out his third Pokemon: a Hitmonlee. The fighting type flexed, before eyeing his opponent. Bruno took the split seconds he usually did to consider a plan of attack. Pummel them - that was the plan now; just pummel them.

The jumbotron pinged and filled in the next Pokemon graphics with the portraits of the two Pokemon, filling each member's third slot.

With smirk adorning Ash's face, he just knew he had to be careful.

''The third round up is between Ash's Decidueye and Bruno's Hitmonlee. Hitmonlee comes from a long line of martial artists And brings style and grace to the art. Ash is continuing his offense-defense tactics and his Decidueye is giving him an extra edge with its flying abilities!''

The two Pokemon leered at one another.

"I hope you're not counting this match yours, already!" Bruno challenged from across the field, "You're an exceptional trainer, Ash. All the more reason to go all-out!"

"So are you." Ash smiled, leaning forward. "In that case, let's keep it going!"

Words were spoken highly off, but could the actions back them up? Tensions were rising in the minds of both trainers, one silly mistake could throw the odds on the other side. Foreheads brewed sweat and muscles tensed.

''Begin!''

And the rest of the battle will transpire in the next chapter! It was fun to write the Pokemon Ash never used before! Mimey and Tyro gave it their all! Mimey was super cute though!

Anyway, addressing to some important issues. A knife, no a sword has intercepted our hearts. Goh has cought Suicine. Wow! Writers, just wow! And why just stop at Suicine, why not a Kyurem or a Groudon. Why not make Goh catch all the Creation Trio and make a God out of him? Are you guys being held hostages or something?

The first appearance of Suicine which Ash spotted, gave it a touch that. ''Yeah, this Pokemon is definitely a Legendary!'' and now, you made a less than Max experienced trainer catch it? Suicine could have been a valuable asset to Ash's team but No! Let's give him a Farfetched instead! I just hate it when you kill Ash's dreams and enforce that idiot's dreams of catching a Mew. How long till Goh realizes to be realistic?

Is this season's motto is to drive the fans away? Come on!
