Robby pov

"Bellamy, its a virus and most likely contagious," I say.

"Cmon get to the dropship now," he says and reaches to tug me arm.

"No get away from me. I can't get you sick," I say and stumble back into camp.

I see chaos and panic through blurry vision. Someone vomits all over someone else who vomits in retaliation.

"Cmon, now!" Bellamy says and pulls me into the dropship.

There are already people in there vomiting on the ground and laying on makeshift beds bleeding everywhere. Clarke is in there and I can see bloodstains around her eyes. I look over at Murphy who pukes all over the ground. Clarke is kneeling by his side.

"Bellamy get away from him!" Clarke says upon seeing my condition.

"Did he do something to you?" Bellamy asks Clarke accusingly regarding Murphy.

Clarke shakes her head.

"What the hell is this?" He asks Murphy who says nothing.

"Biological warfare. You were waiting for the grounders to retaliate for the bridge, this is it. Murphy is the weapon," Clarke says sounding helpless.

"Is this your revenge, helping the grounders kill us?" Bellamy asks Murphy accusingly

"I didn't know about this, ok, I swear," Murphy says weakly in a pleading voice.

"Stop lying! When are they coming?Bellamy asks angrily.

I'm sitting in the corner listening to this as my body shivers. I start to breathing heavily, keel over, and vomit blood again.

"See what you did to the guy that saved your life?!" Bellamy accuses Murphy while pointing at me.

"Bellamy, I didn't know," Murphy pleads.

"Murphy, think, what can you tell us that's useful? Did you hear anything?," Clarke asks in a soft tone.

"They are vicious, cruel—" Murphy begins saying.

"Do you want to see vicious?!" Bellamy asks angrily.

"Bellamy, stop," I plead in barely a whisper.

"Whatever this thing is, it spreads through contact," Clarke says.

Suddenly Finn runs in.

"Clarke?" He asks worriedly.

I'm too sick to be mad at him.

"Finn you shouldn't be in here," Clarke says.

He turns and sees me trying to pull my jacket tighter around my freezing body.

"Jesus Rob," Finn says shocked.

"Get out or you'll get sick," I whisper.

"Clarke, what is this?" Finn asks scared.

"I don't know, some kind of hemorrhagic fever. We just need to contain it before—" Clarke answers.

She's cut off by someone wretching and seizing on the ground. Clarke gets up and Finn moves to stop her.

"Don't touch me. You could get sick," she says and moves to help the guy having a seizure.

"Wash your hands now," Clarke demands.

"Octavia," I say in a croaky voice.

"What?" Bellamy responds.

"Octavia, check on Octavia. You can't let her get sick. Bellamy please," I beg through shivers.

"Alright, it's gonna be fine," he reassured me.

The guys suddenly pukes his guts out then falls limp on the ground.

"He's dead," Clarke says looking at Bellamy and Finn sadly.

I suddenly get a new wave of fear. I'm about to die. This virus will kill me and my life is about to end. My shivering gets worse as I start to have a panic attack.

"Hey your gonna be fine," an unfamiliar voice says.

I look over and see Murphy raise is arm in the air and make a fist in encouragement. He nods his head and I nod back. Maybe he has changed after all. I feel drowsy and must have alerted Clarke because I see a blurry head of blonde hair running toward me. I look at her blurred face before everything goes black.

Octavia pov

I'm sitting in my tent flipping through Lincoln's sketchbook. What else am I supposed to do with all this boredom? I saw Robby pummeling Jasper. I couldn't care less because Jasper had it coming. I heard that Robby didn't start the fight. He and my brother left, probably to go have a chat or something. My heart shattered when Bellamy said Robby was banished. I was too shocked to say anything, but I wish I spoke up. I shouldn't have been such a coward. Speaking of Bellamy he runs in to the tent and looks frantic. It startles the hell out of me.

"Jeez you scared me," I say.

"How are you feeling," he says as he looks panicked.

"Fine, get out," I say confused as to why he's acting so weird.

"Did you touch Murphy yesterday?" Bellamy asks.

I'm instantly confused. Why would I touch Murphy. I'm with Robby and I especially wouldn't go near Murphy even if he was the last human in earth.

"What?" I ask with clear confusion.

"Did you touch Murphy yesterday?" He badgers again more slowly, but seriously.

"Yeah, I guess so? Why?" I ask even more confused.

"The grounders sent him here with a virus to infect us. Derek just died from it. Get up. Clarke needs to examine you," he orders.

"Is Robby sick?" I ask worried as Robby was the one who carried Murphy across his shoulders into camp.

Bellamy looks down.

"Bellamy?" I as scared of his next words.

He nods and looks down sadly.

I sprint as fast as I can to the dropship.

"Where's Robby?" I ask Clarke harshly grabbing her collar.

"Octavia don't touch me you'll get sick," Clarke says.

"Where is he?!" I say louder.

Clarke looks at the corner where Robby lays slumped on the ground unconscious. His face is covered in blood and inches away from a pool of his own vomit. His dirty blonde hair is matted with filth and blood. He looks like hell. I want to go over and hold him, but I know that I won't make it before Bellamy stops me.

"Come on, I need to examine you," Clarke says full of fatigue.

I look at her worriedly.

"Don't worry I just checked. He's still alive," Clarke says as reassuringly as possible.

Clarke examines me and finds no signs of any symptoms.

"So your saying she doesn't have it?" Bellamy asks hopefully.

"I'm saying she doesn't have symptoms, but that could change. We need to keep her here just in case," Clarke says which I'm fine with.

As long as Robby is here I don't wanna go anywhere.

"No way. Look at this place. She'll get sick just being here," Bellamy says.

"Do you want to stop the spread or not? Look, I'll keep her on the third level with the people who aren't symptomatic yet. Think of it as a way to stop her from sneaking out again," Clarke says.

"Screw you Clarke," I say bitterly.

Clarke ignores my remark and tells Bellamy "I'll let you know if her condition changes."

I move to climb up the ladder when Clarke stops me. I look at her annoyed.

"I need you to sneak out again," Clarke requests.

"Go find Lincoln ask him about the virus," Clarke pleads.

"Why would he care?" I ask curious.

Lincoln was our friend, but I'm sure he'd choose his people first after what happened at the bridge.

"Because I can tell that he cares a lot about you and Robby," Clarke says.

I nod and run all the way to Lincoln's cave.

"Lincoln?" I call out.

He appears around the corner and grabs my face. I try to get out of his grip, but he examines my face.

"You knew?" I say feeling betrayed.

"I tried to get you and Robby out of there. Where is he?" He asks concerned.

"He's lying unconscious in a pool of his own blood and vomit," I spit angrily at him.

Lincoln puts his hands on his head, obviously flustered.

"Did y'all not see that flower?" He asks

"We saw it. Right before we saw the kid your people sent to infect us. Now Robby and the others are gonna die and it's your fault," I say through gritted teeth.

Lincoln looks down in sadness and remorse. He closes his eyes tightly and sighs.

"Clarke sent me here for the cure," I say hoping he has one.

"There is no cure," he says in a whisper.

"So you were just gonna let my people die? You were gonna let your friend who you trained and taught to trust you die?! You were gonna let me die?!" I ask raising my voice.

"The sickness passes quickly. Few are immune we use it to soften the battlefield. I am happy your one of the strong ones. Robby will survive, I promise. He's strong. I didn't agree to teach him our ways for no reason," Lincoln says softly.

Battlefield? What are they planning?

"The battlefield?" I ask.

Lincoln looks like a startled deer.

"They attack at first light," he confirms.

I take a second to let the shock register.

"You have to help me save them," I plead.

"I can't. I tried. My people think I'm a traitor now!" He says defensively.

"Why? Because of the bridge? You were just trying to make peace," I argue.

He slowly shakes his head.

"Because of Robby and I?" I ask despite knowing the answer.

He nods slowly.

"One of our scouts caught me training y'all," he says.

"Oh, I'm sorry," I whisper sadly.

"It doesn't matter now. Octavia, I'm leaving. Right now. I want both of you to come with me," Lincoln proposes.

"And go where?" I ask.

"East, to the sea then across it. There's a clan. Allies of the woods. They'll take us," Lincoln says.

I'm a little tempted. I imagine a life of peace and the sea, growing old alongside Robby. We could start a family of our own and watch as many beautiful sunsets as we want. We can sit by the shore as their uncle Lincoln would tell them stories about the grounders. However, that is wishful thinking as I remember Bellamy and the fact that Robby would most definitely refuse.

"I can't just let my brother get killed. Also there's no way Robby would abandon our people, and neither would I. The whole reason we decided to train with you was to help protect our people," I say with confidence.

"There is nothing either of you can do to stop that now!" Lincoln says slightly raising his voice.

"I can warn them," I suggest

"Octavia, they'll kill you, and him. If y'all are there at dawn—" Lincoln says.

"We won't be," I cut him off.

"I'll talk to him and try to convince him. Once he recovers we'll meet you here," I say not sure what decision to make.

A long, happy life of peace with Robby, but forever with the guilt of leaving our friends and my brother behind to die or to die a warrior's death alongside with them.

I leave without looking back and head back to camp.

Robby pov

I wake up to a much more crowded dropship. The stench of vomit makes me throw up again. I feel better, but not much. I'm not shivering like a leaf anymore so that's something. My mind instantly thinks about Octavia.

"Octavia," I croak out.

I look around and don't see her. The first familiar person I see is John Murphy who is curled up in the hammock.

"Murphy?" I say with a weak voice.

"What?" He snaps weak and annoyed.

"Where's Octavia?" I croak.

"Clarke told her to sneak off somewhere. I'm not sure where," he says nonchalantly.

"Was she sick?" I whisper out.

"Nope, at least not the last time I saw her," Murphy says.

"I can't let anything happen to Octavia," I say and struggle immensely to get up.

It takes every ounce of strength and a shit ton of support from the wall to stand up.

"Sit down Robby," Murphy says rolling his eyes.

I don't listen and walk like a zombie to the door of the dropship. I go outside to see people freaking out and panicking. The noise gives me a splitting headache so I pick up the gun and shoot rounds into the air. Everyone goes silent and looks at me.

"Everybody shut the fuck up and calm down!" I rasp out as loudly as possible.

"This is exactly what the grounders want! Can't you see that?! They don't have to kill us if we kill each other first!" I struggle to say.

I see Clarke looking at me and we lean on each other and hold on for dear life in order to not collapse. If one of us falls then we'll both go down.

"They don't have to kill us if we all catch the virus. Get back in the damn dropship!" Some guy says and aims his gun at Clarke and I.

Bellamy runs over, rips the gun out of the guy's hand and hits him the nose with the butt of the rifle. The guys whimpers in pain.

"Not to state the obvious, but you quarantine isn't working," Bellamy says sounding helpless.

Clarke grows heavy in my arms and I can tell she is about to collapse. I don't have enough strength to hold both of us upright so I go down with her. I twist our bodies so I hit the ground and she lands on me unharmed. Finn runs up to us.

"Get away from us. We're okay," I whisper.

"No y'all aren't," he says and tries to hoist both of us up.

"Get her," I mutter pointing my thumb at Clarke who is about to pass out on top of me.

Finn picks her up and carries her inside. I stare intently at the blue sky. Wow the clouds are in weird shapes. Earth is nice. Wow, what about these leaves and this dirt? Seems like the perfect place to take a nice long nap. I smile like an idiot as the fever starts to fuck with my brain. I feel two people pick me up and carry me into the dropship.

"No I wanna stay here," I whine.

"Put me down," I say in a barley audible voice and my visions swims.

When I wake up again I feel almost back to normal. Sickness doesn't go away that fast. Somethings wrong. I look up to see a beautiful smile and the prettiest green eyes I've ever seen. The beautiful dark hair flowing down her head is a sight to behold. It's Octavia.

"Hey," I say smiling warmly.

"Hey," she whispers grinning at me.

"I was so scared I heard you left," I say with glassy eyes.

"I'm fine, I'm here and your sickness should fade soon," she says and starts playing with my hair.

I groan quietly.

"I love you. Octavia, I love you so much," I say groggily.

The fever must still be messing with my brain because I don't ever act this weird.

"I love you to Robby," she whispers softly and wipes my face with a wet rag.

After a few minutes I can stand up and feel pretty much normal.

"I need some water," I say gagging as a result of the taste in my mouth.

"Here I'll get you some. Stay here," she says and pecks my cheek.

"You can't kiss me. You'll get sick," I say.

"I'm immune. Lincoln told me everything about the virus. Finn is also," she says.

I down the entire cup of water.

"And he's alive," Murphy says jokingly while looking at me with a genuinely pleased expression.

I smile and nod at him. He seems to be feeling better also.

I see Finn giving Clarke water.

"Robby, you're awake," Finn says relieved.

"Yeah I'm feeling a lot better," I say.

My legs get tired so I sit down.

"Robby you still need to rest," Octavia says softly.

"No, I need to help them. I won't let them die," I say.

Octavia looks at me, but seems to be struggling with some thought.

"I know that look. What's on your mind Pocahontas?" I ask, smirking with a raspy voice.

She quickly shakes her head "nothing," she says and smiles warmly.

I know she is lying, but I'm to tired to care.

I rest my head against the cold metal and let it cool me down. I look up at Octavia, Murphy, and Finn who are talking to Clarke who is now in the hammock. Finn leaves the ship. Murphy walks over to me with a cup of water.

"Them first," I rasp out fighting sleep.

"Your hero complex is annoying as hell," Murphy says in a dickish tone.

I get a loud coughing fit as fresh blood runs out of my nose. I motion for Murphy to move out of the way and vomit a bit by his feet. Not as much as I was earlier, but I was wrong when I thought I felt better.

"Sorry," I rasp out as some gets on his shoes.

"These shoes have stepped in worse," Murphy says shrugging.

"Give them water first," I say.

"Robby, they're doing a lot better than you just take it," Murphy says annoyed.

I give in and take the cup from his hand.

"Thank you," I say quietly and drink excitedly.

I sit for a while longer until I see two more people enter the dropship carrying none other than a very sick Bellamy.

"Clear some space! Lay him down!" Octavia demands.

I'm too weak to move from the makeshift bed Octavia and Murphy made for me. They lay Bellamy on the empty bed next to mine and for the first time I see true terror on his face. Bellamy looks like he's gonna vomit and Octavia rolls him into his side and he vomits. Some gets on the edge of my bed. I scoot away from the substance.

"Hey big brother," Octavia says in a comforting manner.

"I'm scared," Bellamy whispers like a small child who's been traumatized.

"I won't let anything happen to you. I promise," Octavia says with determination.

"That's what I said to you the day you were born," Bellamy whispers.

"I know. You told me that like a thousand times," Octavia says beaming down at him.

He grabs her hand and holds on for dear life. I'm glad they have each other. I wonder what having an actual brother or sister would be like. The closest I have is Finn and Raven and I would do anything for both of them.

"I'm glad your here," Bellamy says in a weak voice.

"Just get some rest okay?" Octavia whispers gently while smiling at him.

I decide to get some shut eye. I wake up when water hits my face.

"Bellamy your sick. Okay? I'm just trying to help," Murphy says annoyed.

Jesus not again.

"When I get better, if your still here—" Bellamy starts.

"Murphy it's cool, I got him," I say.

I get the rag and give it to Bellamy. He looks at me hesitantly.

"Stop acting like a brat," I say annoyed.

Bellamy takes the rag. I realize that I feel way better now. For real this time. My voice sounds normal and my strength is back.

Clarke sits down next to us and hands Bellamy water.

"You feeling better?" He asks.

"Yeah," Clarke says warmly.

"You?" He says looking at me.

"Yeah, a lot better," I say.

"Good I didn't carry your heavy ass into the dropship for nothing," Bellamy says.

"Thanks," I say.

"Thank O also, she helped," he says.

"Of course I will," I say.

"Where is she anyway?" I ask.

"She was up all night helping people. Murphy gave her a break," Clarke says.

"Don't tell me you trust him now," Bellamy says to Clarke.

"Trust? No. I do believe in second chances though," Clarke says.

"I agree. If we get second chances for the things we do, he should get that also," I say.

"It's almost dawn. We need to get everyone inside. If we lock the doors then maybe the grounders will think nobody's home," Bellamy assumes.

"Not everyone is sick," Clarke replies.

"Sick is better than dead," Bellamy answers sternly.

"You don't think Finn and Jasper are gonna pull it off," Clarke says.

"Do you?" Bellamy asks me.

"I choose to have hope," I say shrugging.

If we're getting everyone inside, I'm going to find Octavia," I say and get up.

"Robby, she's fine. She's resting," Clarke says.

I get up to leave anyway.

"Robby you can't go outside. Your not fully recovered," Bellamy says.

I walk out despite them shouting at me to stay. I check our tent and realize that Octavia is missing.

"Figures," I mutter annoyed.

I run to the gate and see Octavia taking off into the forest.

"Octavia wait!" I yell.

She turns around startled.

"What are you doing out of bed?" She asks.

"I feel better. Where the hell do you think your going?!" I shout.

"To see Lincoln," she says.

"What?! Why?!" I ask.

"It's a long story, I'll explain everything when I get back, promise," she says sincerely.

I don't wanna assume the worst, but I have to believe it's a possibility.

"No, I either go with you, or you explain now," I demand.

"Ok, come on then. I'll explain on the way," she says and we run toward Lincoln's cave.

She tells me about how Lincoln invited us to leave and go with him East and that he told her about the grounders coming to attack. She said she was slightly tempted, because she wanted us to have a happy life together.

"Octavia I'm not leaving," I say.

"Me neither. If I was I would've woke you up," she says.

I make a face and she looks offended.

"You really think I'd leave without you?! You think I'd run to safety with him and leave you and Bellamy to die at the hands of the grounders?!" She yells offended.

"I wouldn't have blamed you, but no I didn't," I say truthfully.

"Then why'd you make that face?" She says.

"I was just surprised that's all," I say

"I was going to tell him no," she says.

"Robby I want us to live a happy life, but I'm not gonna leave Bellamy and the rest of our people to die," she says.

"I'd rather die with them then live knowing I abandoned them," I say.

"Good cause we're staying together," she says grabbing my arm as we approach the cave.

"Till death do us part," I say smirking.

"Dork," she jokes then kisses me.

"I've been waiting a while to do that," Octavia says.

"Me to," I say as we make it to Lincoln's cave.

Right before we enter we hear a giant explosion. We see a mushroom cloud in the sky.

"They did it!" I say excitedly.

Octavia just grins widely at the smoke in the sky.

We enter the cave and Lincoln is done packing.

"Do you know what y'all just did?" He says in disbelief.

"Stopped the attack?" I say confused as to why he's so flustered.

"There is so much y'all don't understand! The mountain men will come and kill us all. We have to get out of here while there's still a chance," Lincoln says frantically.

"The Mountain Men? You mean the drawings in your book?" Octavia asks.

"Yeah," Lincoln responds.

"We have to go now. We have a lot of ground to cover before dark," he says.

"We're not going with you," I say.

He stops abruptly and looks hurt. I feel bad, but I've made my choice.

"We're staying," Octavia says confidently, but I can tell she's a bit sad.

She gets the book out of her pack and hands it to Lincoln who slowly takes it.

"We would rather die alongside our people then live knowing we left them to die," Octavia says.

"I agree. Plus the reason we trained with you in the first place was because we wanted to protect our family. For that, I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart Lincoln. You deserve to be happy and should go live in peace," I say my voice breaking slightly.

"I've looked up to you since that first day of training. I saw you as an older brother of some kind. You saved me Lincoln. You gave me purpose," I say and hold out my forearm.

He stands there with a hurt expression on his face.

"You'll both die here," Lincoln says with a broken voice.

"Maybe," Octavia says.

"They're our people. I'm sorry," Octavia whispers.

I hold out my forearm again and Lincoln pulls me into a bear hug that I return.

"I'm gonna miss you brother," Lincoln whispers.

"Thank you, for everything," I say my voice trembling.

"I'm gonna miss you to," Octavia says and kisses him on the cheek.

"Goodbye Lincoln," Octavia says.

Tears are streaming down all three of our faces as we give each other one last glance and head our separate ways.

"You could have gone with him," I say on the way back.

"I'd rather die with you, then live the rest of my life alone," she whispers.

I stop and pull her into a long kiss.

"Robby, I love you more then life," she whispers and places her forehead against mine.

"I love you to," I whisper.

When we get back to camp I see Clarke and Bellamy.

I walk up to Bellamy and hug him to the astonishment of Clarke and Octavia.

"What did I miss?" Octavia says confused.

"We worked things out," Bellamy says with a smile.

"Glad your feeling better man," I say.

"You to," He says in his typical deep voice.

"There it's them open the gate!" Harper says excitedly.

The gate opens and Jasper and Monty enter. He has his arm around Monty and their laughing together. I'm glad to see that their friends again. I can't help but smile and cheer along with everyone else. I run up to them and put my arms around them.

"Jasper Jordan and Monty Green, I knew y'all would save humanity!" I yell.

"Guess your psychic," Monty jokes with a truly happy expression on his face.

I laugh and pull them both into a bro hug.

"Robby, I'm really sorry about yesterday and I totally deserved that ass kicking," Jasper says.

"Dude, none of that matters now. We're family. You and me are cool as long as we can be friends again," I say happily.

"Of course man," Jasper says excitedly and gives me a high five.

I see Finn helping a very sick Raven walk. So he could carry Clarke, but not Raven? I think with spite.

"Raven!" I shout and run over to them.

I instantly scoop Raven into my arms and carry her to the dropship as fast as I can.

I kick the person on the hammock who looks mostly better off and place Raven down onto it.

"Take care of her," I order Clarke.

As I'm walking out I look at Murphy who's sitting on the ground. I raise my forearm and make a fist in encouragement. He does the same and I walk out. I walk outside to help Bellamy and the others bury the bodies. That night Bellamy and I are standing outside the gate and Clarke walks out to join us.

"Your outside the wall without a gun," Bellamy says to her.

I look down at the gun slung over my shoulder and the sword sheathed on my belt.

"14 graves," Clarke says sadly.

"We need to talk about Murphy," Bellamy says.

"He was right about the bridge," Clarke says.

"We'll see," Bellamy retorts bitterly.

"And he helped people who were sick," I say.

"Robby, what did you mean about the mountain men being pissed?" Bellamy asks.

"Lincoln said that the bomb from today will cause them to come and kill everyone. Us and the grounders," I say.

"That means we need as many soldiers as we can get," Clarke says.

"So what we have pardon power now?" Bellamy asks shaking his head.

"It's hard running things," Clarke says smiling at Bellamy.

"Yeah it is, but if we work together we'll find a way," I say.

I don't like being in charge, but Bellamy asked me to help run things and Clarke is on board so I'm gonna do everything I can to make sure we live to see the next day

Authors note: once again school has been killing me. The Robby x Octavia dialogue was a bit cheesy and cringy, but they think they're about to die so I had to attempt to make it realistic. Hope y'all still enjoyed the chapter tho and I'll try to update tomorrow.
