Your P.O.V.
In Care for Magical Creatures, Hagrid was back, and he brought the winged horses pulling the carriages at the beginning of the year. They are called thestrals. You can only see them if you have experienced someone close to you die. Hagrid was going to ask me who died because I saw them, but he immediately stopped once he answered his own question.
Susan and I arrived at the Room of Requirement for our last D.A. meeting before Christmas break. We tried Impedimenta today. Zacharias was being rude as always.
"Do you think, if Cedric knew all these spells...he would still be here?" I ask Susan quietly.
"I dont know." she said. "Maybe. But if you go against You-Know-Who, it isnt likely you will make it out alive."
The next day, I see Cho crying, and she walks in the girls bathroom. I follow her, to make sure she is okay. She was sitting on the floor, and had her head in her hands.
"Cho?" I say softly.
I sit down next to her.
"I noticed you have been kinda sad lately, and if you want to talk about anything, I'll be here."
She nodded.
"I wish he was here." she said after a long silence.
"Who?" I asked. But I knew who it was.
"Cedric." she whispered.
"I wish he was here too."
Another silence. Not awkward. Peaceful.
"He really liked you." I say. "He wouldnt stop talking about you."
She laughed.
"Really?" she looked up.
"Yeah. He wouldnt stop talking about your laugh, how you eyes were a beautiful brown, how you were one of the only people who made him happy."
She wiped the tears off her face.
"He made me happy too." she said.
"He liked that you took time to get to know him, and didnt just go after his looks. He loved you."
"And I loved him..." she trailed off. "Delilah?"
"Yes?"
"How do you keep yourself together? I wont stop crying. I cry even during meals. You hardly show any sign of sadness."
"I...I dont know."
"...Thank you."
"For what?" I ask.
"Nobody likes to hang around me anymore. They think I'm so sad, and I ruin the mood. You hardly know me, and you made sure I was okay."
"Well, you never know who your real friends are, until you go through a hard time. The ones who stick with you, will stick with you forever."
Christmas was just around the corner. People were leaving. I had to stay. My parents didnt want me home alone because they decided to go on a vacation. Without me. Everyone I hung out with, left.
Susan, Draco, Hannah. Cho started to hang around us more and more. I was alone. It wasnt much different than being at home. But my dreams were getting worse and worse. I had voices in my head telling me to do...violent things. I wasnt like this. I hate when people get hurt. I breaks my heart seeing their pain. But when I cause it...I have never ending guilt.
