Chapter 40: Pregnancy: Month 9

Agent BM: Yep, and that's true

March

Honey was now in her final month of pregnancy. Dr. Brandon told her she would be due within the next couple of weeks.

"I can't believe it." Honey said, as she took a seat on the couch.

"Neither can we." Buzz told her.

"In a matter of weeks, I'm going to be actually having a baby."

"It's going to be okay, Honey." comforted Bumble.

"I know, but I am a little scared."

"Don't worry, Honey. Everything's gonna be fine." comforted Stinger.

Honey took a deep breath, and then calmed down a bit.

"You're right." she replied.

She put a hand on her swollen stomach, she was also excited to see her baby.

About a week later Honey was putting away dishes, when she felt something. It felt like she had wet herself, but that wasn't it.

"Oh my gosh." she whispered.

She then called Zeke, who came downstairs.

"What is it, Honey?" he asked.

"I...I think my waters broke." she told him.

Zeke's eyes went wide.

"Okay, we gotta get you to the hospital."

While Zeke got the car ready, Honey called Dr. Brandon, and told him what had happened. He said he'd meet them at the hospital. While in the car, Honey also called her friends, and told them what was happening.

They congratulated her, and told her to inform them when the baby came. The bees were also coming along. They weren't going to be in the delivery room of course, but just provide Honey with additional support and comfort.

When they got to the hospital, they went to check in. After getting checked in, a nurse got Honey a wheelchair, and escorted the couple to the maternity ward. They were put in a room, and were given a hospital gown and scrubs to change into.

Honey lied in bed, practicing her breathing exercises.

"This is actually happening." Honey told Zeke.

"Yes, it is." Zeke answered.

Then the door opened, and Dr. Brandon came in.

"Hey, Honey, how're you feeling?" he asked.

"A little scared to be honest." she admitted.

"Well let's see how you're doing." Dr. Brandon told her.

He pulled on some gloves, and checked her.

"Well you are in labor, and the contractions will be starting soon."

"Oh boy."

Honey had read that real contractions were worse than the practice ones.

"I'll go get you some water." Zeke told her.

"And I'll see about getting you a delivery room." Dr. Brandon replied.

The men left the room, leaving Honey with alone with her bees.

"How you feeling, Honey?" asked Buzz.

"A little anxious."

"Don't worry, it's just eight hours." Bumble tried to comfort.

Honey just groaned.

"Not helping, Bumble." Stinger told her.

"It's all right, guys." Honey told them.

Then Zeke came back with the water, which Honey happily drank.

About an hour later, the contraction began.

"Breathe through the pain, breathe through the pain." Zeke encouraged.

Honey did so, holding Zeke's hand as she did. Then finally, the pain subsided.

"Is this almost over?" she asked.

"Not yet, Honey." Zeke replied, as he wiped the sweat from her forehead.

After a while Dr. Brandon came, and escorted them up to a delivery room.

The contractions got more frequent and painful, and Honey was in great pain. Luckily, a nurse gave her some pain medication.

"You're doing great, Honey." Dr. Brandon told her.

"You're almost there." Zeke encouraged.

"All right, Honey; give me a big one." Dr. Brandon said.

Honey pushed with all her might, squeezing Zeke's hand as she did. This went another few minutes, then finally she did it one last time. The next thing that happened, was the sound of crying.

"She's here!" Dr. Brandon announced.

As Honey heard the baby crying, she felt relieved and utter bliss.
