His Silent Scream

Chapter 34

Author Notes: Lol this came sooner than expected~ Last chapter i mentioned Banner being up to something and well...here we go with a mini time skip straight towards not on the winter festival, but also the start of a new arc! Let's get going. I do not own Yugioh.

3rd P.O.V

"I swear he HAS to be cheating somehow." Zane was muttering under his breath as he was once again forcibly dragged off to who knows where with Atticus, Jehu, surprisingly Axel and Aster joining them on the victim train.

Alexis, Haou and Tyranno were in front of the small group of boys. Alexis grinning ear to ear as she whispers quietly to the brunette. Again, Zane blamed Atticus for this. "Why am I even here? I didn't even play."

Tyranno grinned, revealing a fanged tooth, especially when he looked at his grumpy, stoic cousin. "Forward march soldiers! We have a job to do." Haou was really liking Hassleberry, actually appreciating his strong, loyal presence.

At the very least he was reliable to where he wouldn't let any of his victims run away. "Atticus you are Not allowed to provoke Haou anymore. Because if I have to deal with this for the last two festivals I will kill you." The senior whined in dismay.

How was he supposed to know this was going to happen? For the second time in a row! "Jehu isn't there something you can do about this? Haou's been humming and it's scaring the hell out of me."

Aster and Axel were innocent victims, their lives forfeit due to a teeny tiny game of cards that took place in the school cafeteria. Atticus and the rest of their friends came into school during midterms. Regardless of them having any that day or not.

And to fight boredom, Atticus and Jehu brought all sorts of board games and cards to occupy them. It was meant to be fun, but whether Haou planned this to the letter or not let Atticus to open his big fat mouth, leading to an intense two rounds of Uno. With a similar ante to the duel racing competition.

However unlike the previous occasion where Haou got extremely lucky, he knew his way around cards. And kicked everyone's asses. Leading to all the mentioned boys complaining as they follow Haou to yet another unknown location.

Jehu took note of his boyfriend's slightly shaky form from the crowds but he was getting better. Or he was in too much of a good mood to let the massive amounts of people bother him. Either way, his bright aura was actually causing the majority of the school population to avoid him like the plague.

Giving the large group plenty of room as they walked through the halls. Jehu could only give his friends a sheepish smile. "No, trust me, I tried." And indeed he did, very hard. He spent a good two hours trying to seduce Haou into at least letting him out of whatever punishment planned for him with no luck.

It didn't help that the brunette was expecting such a strategy and actually used it against him. Jehu's could feel the bite marks under his shirt as he moved. Well he says his plan backfired...but it still seemed like a victory in his eyes. He just wished he knew what his boyfriend was up to.

"Didn't he tell you anything?!" Aster was freaking out as he kept shifting his gaze. He got off without any problems the last time, and though one could argue that being drafted into the café wasn't a terrible thing...

Haou was no where near this ecstatic during the autumn season. The bluenette could only shrug. "The closest I can think of is he promised to help Professor Banner. But other than that? Nothing."

Alexis giggled up ahead, Haou whispered something to her, causing their boyfriends and Atticus to forget their worries for a moment. "Since when have they been good friends?" Zane rolled his eyes, smacking his girlfriends' brother.

"I think it's obvious that Haou's changed, arguably for the better. Though I blame all my issues with him on you." It was true, who he was at the start of the school year and now were like night and day.

He was still to an extent anti-social and glared at anything that pissed him off. But it seemed like he was at peace. For once he was looking ahead with a sense of optimism, feeling serenity at the fact that he could find the support and love he desperately craved. Plus things were just going smoothly for him since his birthday.

Yesterday Tome set up the Shadow Realm again, and it going way more efficiently as she was able to find more students willing to help. With more students and a new menu to experiment with did however mean she couldn't make new costumes for her first crew.

Which Haou was completely grateful for. Not that it mattered since he was once more stuck in the kitchen killing himself with finishing what felt like a hundred orders. At least he got the Italian themed desserts he wanted.

"Better keep an eye on him Jehu. You may be Mr. Popular, but Haou's been getting quite the bit of attention from Mrs. Sheppard's café and from when he dressed up in Yami's last play."

Axel shook his head as Jehu glared at Atticus. Why was Alexis's brother such a moron? It seemed the only thing the two had in common was their last name. It was only fitting that the comedic teen trip for trying to rile up his best friend. "Karma man." Jehu wasn't at all worried about his relationship with his boyfriend.

These days he was on cloud nine. "You should be worried about your own love life Atticus. I don't see any girl wrapped around your arm." And that was Alexis and Yoko's next project. For the sophomore it was fun playing cupid.

Meanwhile the blonde not only wanted more girl friends to hang out with, but she figured there would be someone to keep her idiotic brother in line. It worked for Jehu, Marcel usually kept Blair calm, and even Alexis got Zane to socialize more.

There Had to be someone for the crazy flirt. It was just a matter of who and when. "This is it." Haou's statement made everyone stop and stare at the staircase leading down. "The basement?" The ominous sensation returned as the several students there tried peering down into the darkness.

Shouts of pain and screams easily heard causing shivers to go down their spines. "Tyranno man the back." Axel's cousin grinned, giving a salute as he did just that. Puffing himself up so he seemed more bigger and intimidating.

Having been trained by his family of soldiers, the only one who even stood a chance of taking him down was Axel. And right now his cousin couldn't be bothered. He actually found himself interested as he heard some familiar popping sounds ring off.

Haou went down, his golden eyes having a light illuminating effect as he further descended into the shadows. "Come on now. Don't be shy." Alexis laughed as she quickly followed suit, using her cell as a flashlight. Leaving the rest of the guys there...all scowling at Atticus one more time before following along.

Alexis's light brought very little comfort as the group all made their way downstairs. The sounds heard previously growing louder and higher pitched. It was a relief to the boys when they reached the last of the steps.

Their eyes not only adjusted at this point but there were a few candles alit along the walls. "Ah, there you are Haou. And I see you've brought friends. Very good." There leaning comfortably was the science teacher.

He seemed completely at ease with the darkness, acting as if there wasn't wails of agony and fear to be heard. It seemed like a serious contrast to the mellow, wise man. Haou snorted as he approached. A large grin spreading far and wide across his face.

"Of course. The more the misery." A small chuckle rose from the man, well used to Haou's purposeful mispronunciations of certain English phrases. "Indeed. Welcome children to my festival event." And he couldn't deny that-that particular one fit with what was about to transpire.

Everyone started to get nervous again as they followed the two inside. "Whoa!" The basement was usually a huge storage room for the school, being the size of three average sized classrooms combined.

But as soon as the principal announced the date for the winter festival Banner immediately requested the basement and got to work. He alongside several volunteers worked day and night to clean the clutter and set up what looked to be a cardboard city.

There it was clear to see why Haou was so excited about bringing them here. The event Banner made looked like it was ripped straight out of a horror movie. People, both students and staff from the looks of it were dressed as zombies.

Each one various degrees of grotesque. What made it really cool was how the zombies were designed with makeup and clothes to show them in the different stages of decomposition as they groaned forward. Their targets being a small group who was shooting at them with paintball guns.

"I originally planned to do this during the fall festival for Halloween, but I was unable to request the basement at the time. Ms. Camula already booked it for her renaissance dance. When i brought up this idea up to my students for winter they were heavily invested."

Already the gears were turning in their heads. Haou was straying off to the side. His gaze taking note of the sharp shooters accuracy for the current round. Already he was making plans, not bothering to listen since he was already well aware of the rules.

"Each shooter is given five bullets at the start. A horde of zombies of different decaying cycles are coming. Every few minutes or when the zombies reach a certain distance I have a friend of mine -Mr. Bakura ask them a forensic's based question that's from one of five levels of difficulty."

The harder the question answered correctly the more bullets are rewarded. It was an ingenious method. Allowing Banner to see just how knowledgeable his students were(making sure they actually took the proper notes) all while having fun.

It was a challenge for the various guests as well as they had to think and react quickly. "Now all the zombies are wearing protective gear underneath their clothes to prevent injuries, but the shooter's goal is to survive, getting rid of the wave of zombies coming their way." Every round roles were switched.

Giving everyone a chance to play. But it also gave reward to those with a steady hand and who knew how the body was effected by projectiles. In his class he tends to go into a bit of anatomy as he describes a corpses cause of death and the various factors of decomposition.

The idea came from Mr. Bakura actually when he was trying to come up with a way for the zombies to 'die.' Having been not only a fan of horror movies, but also having his own degree and career as a coroner.

"If a zombie is hit three times they are considered 'dead' and are no longer able to go after the shooters. Wherever they are struck will impede their movements as well. For example, If they are shot in the leg, they must limp, if the target was the arm they will not be able to use it."

Headshots, though funny and a more harder target, were not allowed. The last thing the science teacher wished was for anyone to actually get hurt during the event. Even with the protective gear, the zombies were going to be quite sore the next morning.

They were using painballs afterall. "Now then..." With the rules explained Banner removed his glasses, cleaning them slightly. His smile remaining as the children take in the information. A calm smile still planted on his face as his vision clears.

"Any takers?" Haou grinned, meeting his teacher's gaze as several hands flew up. Both had quite a few individuals they had intended as targets. And much to their joy...all of them were present for this little game. There were no winners or losers...only survivors.

to be continued
