Epilogue

The plane was silent, the only noise coming from the actual plane itself. Raven sat in the plane's passenger bay, Ruby's head laid in her lap, as she gently stroked her hair. For the first time in, Raven didn't know how long, she was genuinely afraid. The last time she had spoken to her daughter she had said that she hated her, running away with tears in her eyes. Not only was she unsure where she and her daughter stood. Not only that, but they were heading towards Salem's domain and Raven didn't know what was going to happen next. She had lied to and betrayed Salem, under normal circumstances she and Ruby would be executed almost immediately, but luckily for Raven, these were not normal circumstances.

Her being the spring maiden and Cinder being the fall maiden, Raven hoped that they could strike and deal with Salem.

"Raven," Cinder called, pulling Raven out of her thoughts, "I'm ready," Raven said, picking Ruby up and following her through the plane's corridors, eventually arriving at a small infirmary. "I need to go and take the plane off of autopilot, go ahead and go inside," Cinder said, as she started to walk away. Raven entered the infirmary, with Ruby in her arms, surprised to find a man waiting for her inside. "There you are, you're lucky that I was already in Atlas. Go ahead and put her on the table." Watts said, gathering a few things from around the room. Raven did as she was told, gently placing Ruby down on the small medical table.

"All right, let's take a look," Watts said, as he started to examine Ruby. "Hmmm," Watts hummed, making Raven's anxiety grow. "Is everything okay? Raven asked, coming to stand by the doctor's side. "I'm not sure," Watts said, putting an iv into Ruby, then tilting her head to the side, "Raven, do you see these lines?" Watts asked, pointing to the black lines across Ruby's neck.

"What is that?" Raven asked.

"Those are the veins that flow blood from her heart to her brain," Watts explained, moving past Raven to grab a syringe. "What does that mean, is she going to be okay?" Raven asked. "It's impossible to tell until she wakes up, but if I had to make a guess, I would say that there will probably be some brain damage," Watts said, injecting the syringe into Ruby's iv. "Is there anything we can do?" Raven asked desperately, making Watt's to raise his eyebrow. He had always heard that Raven was a strong and fearless woman but now, he saw nothing more than a scared mother. "All we can do is watch and wait, we should be arriving at our first destination soon," Watts said. "First destination? I thought we were heading straight towards Salem's domain," Raven said, causing Watts to lightly laugh.

Oh, come on Raven, don't be stupid if you were to go to Salem right now, she would sever your head from your body, even if you're the spring maiden. No, you'll need something first," Watts said.

Before Raven could say another word a scream broke her out of her thoughts, her head snapping back to her daughter, who now laid sprawled out across the floor, her iv falling to the floor behind her. "Ruby!" Raven shouted, rushing to the panicking girl, crouching down to wrap the girl in a hug. "Mom?" Ruby asked, looking around with a confused expression. "Mom, what's going on, where are we?" Ruby asked, immediately accepting her mother's hug. "Shhhhhhhhh, you're okay everything's going to be alright," Raven said, attempting to comfort her shaking daughter. "Mom, where are we, what's going on?" Ruby repeated. "Somewhere safe," Raven answered, picking Ruby up and putting her back onto the table. "Am I still going to Beacon?" Ruby asked, confusing Raven and Watts. "What are you talking about, honey? You already went to Beacon," Raven said, Ruby, becoming confused now. "What are you talking about? I...no I haven't...I never," Ruby stuttered, putting a hand on her head in an attempt to alleviate some of the pain. Eventually, the pain became too much to bear, the girl passing out again.

"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!" Raven shouted, looking to Watts for an explanation.

"Hmmm, interesting," Watts muttered, "while I'm not an expert in this field, I believe she is suffering from a form of PTSD, specifically, repression," Watts answered. "Repression?" Raven asked. Watts sighed in annoyance, did this woman know nothing? "Basically, her mind locked away traumatic memories to keep itself intact, guessing explained. "Is that a good thing? I mean she won't remember the bad things they did," Raven said. "It depends, as you can see she passed out only a moment ago, she passed out from the pain, I'm guessing that she attempted to remember what happened, causing her mind to defend itself. On the bright side, this should be the worst of it, the effects and pain will start to dwindle until they are virtually nonexistent. "What about her repressed memories, are they going to come back?" Raven asked nervously. "They could come back over time, but they also could not, it varies from person to person and something like this in it of itself is rare, there is a good chance that she'll never remember what happened. "Why doesn't she remember going to Beacon though?" Raven asked. "I'm not sure," Watts answered, picking up the fallen iv, "we'll be arriving at our destination soon, your assistance will be needed, I'll make sure to look after her," Watts assured.

"Thank you," Raven said, spending the rest of the time silently watching Ruby until they arrived at their destination.

Summer sat in an Atlas hospital, a slight pain in the back of her neck, she had been sitting in the same room for the past couple of hours. Qrow laid next to her, asleep, he was wrapped in heavy bandages with multiple machines checking his vitals. They had been extremely lucky, Weiss regaining consciousness and calling for help just in the nick of time. Looking over to her shoulder Summer saw her eldest daughter leaned against her shoulder, her beautiful blonde hair in a tangled mess. Summer softly shook Yang's shoulder, waking the girl from her slumber. "What's going on, mom?" Yang asked, rubbing her eyes to wake herself up. "You should head back to the academy, I'll look after Qrow," Summer said with a weak smile.

"Alright," Yang said, slowly standing up and walking towards the door, stopping at the door frame, "we're going to find her, right?" Yang asked.

"Yeah," Summer answered, sounding like she did not believe it herself. "Try not to stay too late mom," Yang said before she left the room. Summer spent another hour with her husband, mulling through her thoughts as she tried to come with a new plan, Summer knew that Raven would go into hiding now and that the only way she would ever see Ruby again would be to find Raven. At that moment Summer made a vow, no matter how long it took, no matter how hard it would be, she was going to find Raven and kill her. Summer was broken out of her thoughts by her scroll vibrating, pulling it out Summer tried to suppress the snarl that escaped her lips. "Ozpin," Summer growled, as she accepted the call, "Summer, how are you doing?" Ozpin asked. "Oh, how am I? Well, I don't know, my husband is in the hospital from multiple stab wounds, care to take a guess on where he got them from?" Summer asked sarcastically. "Raven," Ozpin muttered sadly. "Got it in one, Oz, not only did she stab my husband multiple times but she stole my daughter, again!" Summer yelled," so, since you're the one who sent Raven over here, I want you to give me one good reason not to send you to your next incarnation," Summer said threateningly. Ozpin sighed," I can't give you one, I could tell you that I thought it would be for the best, that her presence would be beneficial, that I took certain precautions to protect your daughter," Ozpin said. "Precautions?" Summer asked, "I placed a tracking device within Raven," Ozpin informed, making Summer's eyes widen with hope, "Where is she?" Summer asked.

"I don't know how but she's traveling fast, a couple of hours ago she was in Mistral," Ozpin said, looking towards the floor. "What happened?" Summer asked, knowing the look on the headmaster's face.

"Leo is dead," the headmaster answered.

Ash covered the ground, multiple fires being put out by Atlas's fire department, "Sergeant Parker," one of the fire fighters yelled, grabbing his superior's attention.

"What is it," Sergeant Parker asked, walking over to the man. "Look," the firefighter said pointing to something in the wreckage. "It looks like a metal hand," the firefighter said, walking over to the strange thing and starting to pull debris off of it. "Oh my lord," the firefighter muttered, pulling a large wooden pillar off of the hand. Once the pillar was off the two men were able to see that the metal hand was still attached to a man. "Pull him out of there," Parker ordered, helping pull the man out. Whoever the man was, he was heavily scarred, his whole body being covered by burn scars, his metallic hand melted into a hunk of metal.

"He's still alive, quick get an ambulance," Parker called, a few minutes later an ambulance arrived, the man being rushed to the hospital, "I hope he's going to be ok," Parker said.

Raven looked at her daughter with a small smile, she had woken up a few hours ago, asking Raven what had happened. Luckily for Raven, she had already had a lie ready, using her time in Mistral to come up with a slight variation of the truth, omitting a few key details. Ruby was devastated to hear that most of her family had been killed, learning that a group of huntsmen had carried out the attack. Ruby was even more surprised to find out that she had actually already gone to Beacon, the evil huntsmen and huntresses capturing her and brainwashing her, which would explain why she couldn't remember anything.

"Where are we going, mom?" Ruby asked, looking up to her mother. "Somewhere we'll be safe," Raven answered, "Ruby, you need to listen to me, you know that the grimm are bad right?"

Raven asked. "Yeah," Ruby answered, looking at her mother with a curious look. "We're going to a place with a lot of grimm, but they won't attack you," Raven said, making Ruby's silver eyes widen. "Really?" Ruby asked, getting a nod from her mother, "that's so cool," Ruby squeaked. "It is, the woman who owns these lands has the ability to control the grimm but she's a bit...scary," Raven said. "Scary?" Ruby asked, her mother explaining that the woman has a few similarities to the grimm. The news had shocked Ruby, who was now a lot more hesitant to meet the woman but her mother had assured her that everything would be alright. For the next 30 minutes, Raven caught Ruby up on what had happened, a knock on the door making the two stop their conversation. "We're here," Cinder said as she entered the room, "being tackled as soon as she entered the room. "Cinder!" Ruby cheered tackling the girl in a tight hug. "I missed you too," Cinder said, returning the hug, "alright let's go, it's better to not keep her waiting." Ruby and Raven followed Cinder, Ruby taking notice of the large case that Cinder held. "What's in the case," Ruby asked, "a gift for the woman who owns this place," Cinder answered, continuing through the dark corridors. After another 10 minutes of walking the group approached a large black door, Ruby not noticing the fearful expressions on Cinder and Raven's faces. The group entered the large room, Ruby standing behind her mother after looking at the woman sat in the large throne. "So, you've finally returned and it seems that you've brought guests," Salem said with a bored tone.

"Salem I-," Cinder started.

"Quiet," Salem interrupted, "I don't care for excuses, so I assume that you've brought me something to compensate for your failure," Salem said. "I have, may I present Raven Branwen and Ruby Branwen," Cinder said, stepping off to the side so that Raven and Ruby could step forward. Once in front of the queen of the grimm Raven immediately got down on one knee, Ruby mimicking her mother's actions with confusion. "Raven Branwen, you've been quite uncooperative, why would you come to my domain?" Salem asked. "I wish to go back to our old agreement," Raven answered, making Salem laugh softly. "Really? And why should I grant that request?" Salem asked. Raven motioned over to Cinder, who gave Raven the large briefcase, unlatching the top Raven presented Salem with its contents.

"A lamp?" Ruby asked, looking at the beautiful lamp with a confused expression.

The sudden voice caught Salem's attention looking down to find the girl she had forgotten about, "child rise," Salem ordered, making Ruby's and Raven's eyes widen with fear, mostly Raven's but Ruby did as she was told, slowly standing before the frightening woman. "You have beautiful eyes," Salem commented, Ruby squeaking out a quiet thank you. Raven could practically hear her heart thundering in her chest, had the relic not been enough? Did Salem still plan to kill her and Ruby? "You said that you wanted to go back to our old arrangement?" Salem asked, still looking into Ruby's silver eyes. "Yes ma'am," Raven quickly answered. "Very well, but you know the price if you fail me again, Cinder?" Salem said. "Yes ma'am?" Cinder asked, "Please take Ruby to her new quarters, Raven and I still need to have a talk," Salem ordered, causing Cinder to quickly rush Ruby out of the room. "This is very bold of you," Salem said once the large doors creaked shut, "to think that you could betray me and come back as though nothing ever happened."

"I'm sorry ma'am please-"

"Stop," Salem interrupted, "let me tell you how this is going to work. You will do whatever I tell you, and if you disobey my orders or fail me for any reason, I'll lock you and your daughter in my deepest and darkest cells, long enough for me to find two replacements," Salem said. "You're going to make her the summer maiden aren't you?" Raven asked. "I am," Salem confirmed. "Now I believe I already have an assignment for you," Salem said, smirking slightly. "What do you need me to do?" Raven asked.

"I want you to kill Summer Rose."

The end

Well that's a wrap, I want to thank everybody so much for giving my first story a chance, I hope I made it exciting and entertaining, looking back there are a few things I would change but I really happy with how this turned out. The next story that I'm going to write will not be a squeal, not to say that one will never happen, but I want to work on something new. My next story will be called T.P.S, a darker and more sinister RWBY story. If you have any questions or thoughts please feel free to ask.

Thank you (=
