A/N: Wow, I can't believe I've done 30 chapters without owning the TT or YJ.

frog31791: It will be nitty, and it shall be gritty.

derek: Thank you for your words of encouragement.

Nivado111: See, I do like those stories, but I want this to be more than just a relationship fanfic. Don't get me wrong, the relationship will always be there, more so now that he's back, but I want this to be entertaining because of more than just BBRae content. And trust me, what I have planned is probably so way over the top it goes to the moon. (Not a hint, just an exaggeration.).

Ginngersnapps: I know I know, but I want to keep the chapters around 3k words. Too few and people lose interest, but too many can make it feel like the chapter is dragging on. Also, I sometimes have trouble filling in 3k words without pulling too many plot plans at once. And of course, no pressure at all. No pressure no pressure nopressure nopressureNOPRESSURENOPRESSURE!

OdaStider: Will do. Well, this chapter will be a bit of a recap for the Titans, but there will inevitably be hints to BB's past.

Fourteen: Like I say, don't worry about how long it takes. Your academics are more important to me than a review on a story. Are other students going through that issue with the teachers? And 3:30 AM? Get some sleep!

Thanks. I noticed both of their "new" lives began with a lab, and I felt they could understand each other in that aspect. I feel that YJ Robin would be younger if he was recruited as a kid after JC Robin. As for Onslaught, they might reappear. After all, it's almost too easy for the prisoners to escape Belle Reve. As for prison or rehabilitation, I'm already working through that, but I like your idea.

Eris: I'm not ezactly sure how they'll react, but it doesn't really matter given I'm currently doing it. And that sounds like a good idea.

Well, here's another serving of content. Bon appetit.

Chapter 30:

As the Titans approached the commons, the telltale sounds of video games echoed from room. The moment the doors hissed open everyone stopped gaming and turned to the team. "Get comfortable. This might take a while." the green teen stated. A few chairs levitated from beside the kitchen table and set themselves down to form a half circle in front of the couch. Once every seat was filled the changeling began to recount his adventure.

"So, you all know what happened here in Jump, so I'll skip over that. When I swam away, I realized I didn't actually have a plan. After a bit of thinking, I decided to go to Africa. As Starfire, and probably the rest of you now know given that book on the table, I used to live there when I was young." Beast Boy started. "In all honesty, there's not much of a story here. After a few days, maybe a week of swimming I arrived there and made my way to the village my parents and I used to live with.".

"Speaking of, you never have mentioned your parents. Why is that?" Cyborg asked. He noticed Raven flinch at the question, but what got his attention was his friend's reaction. Beast Boy's eyes seemed to go distant, and his entire attitude...changed. "Oh god, I'm so sorry. I didn't know." Cyborg apologized. "No, no. It's fine. You couldn't have known." Beast Boy replied with a noticeably weaker voice. He attempted to clear his throat as a cover up and resumed the story.

"When I got to the village, I asked someone to take me to King Tawaba. He was a good friend of ours years ago, and he recognized me when he saw me. He and Omari, another friend of mine from the past, told me about these people who kept trying to drive them away. In return for a place to stay I offered to send them off next time they came, which I did.".

"If I may, but how did you meet them?" Jump City Robin asked in reference to the new heroes. "And why are there two of you?" Jinx asked the Boy Wonder. "I'm the new Robin. He doesn't technically work for Batman anymore, so I'm his replacement." the teen in question explained. "Can we get back on topic?" Raven questioned.

"To answer your question: I'm getting there. So about a week after I drove off the first attack, they tried again. While I was fighting, they appeared and started fighting as well." the green teen recounted. "We were on a mission in the area, and he ended up helping us out." M'gann stated. "While we're on this topic, these are Kaldur, Superboy, Artemis, M'gann, Kid Flash, and Robin." the green teen listed with a gesture aimed at the mentioned teens.

"And that's basically it. After we finished there, we made a quick stop and they brought me back." Beast Boy said to finish the story. "But that brings us to a matter we must discuss." the red shirted teen declared. "You do understand that your friend is, technically speaking, a criminal. And like any other criminal, he must face the consequences for his actions.".

"C'mon man, he just got back! Can't you cut him a break, especially after helping you guys?" Cyborg rather furiously demanded. "I do not like the idea of putting away a fellow hero, and I never said it had to be now. But as heroes, is it not our responsibility to enforce justice? If we do not enforce the law among our own, is it really justice, or favoritism?" the Atlantean asked the cybernetic man. Much to their dismay, none of the heroes could come up with a sound argument.

"Just give me enough time to adjust to the time zone. Then I'll turn myself over.". Everyone turned to the green teen in question, who had a dead serious expression. "B, you're really going to put yourself in jail?" Cyborg shouted, dumbfounded. "Yeah. I was already thinking like Kaldur. And besides, I probably won't be put away for too long." the changeling explained. "Look, I'm really tired. I know it's early, but I'm heading to bed." Beast Boy declared before leaving the room with his book. "It's still weird seeing him act so mature." the pink haired girl muttered, to which Cyborg nodded.

A bedroom door opened and allowed the entrance of the resident green teen. Instead of placing the book in his closet he just threw it aside and jumped into his bed. He gently placed the clothes and Omari's necklace on the ground but gazed at the picture of him and his parents. It was almost weird to think back to the times when he was a child. Deciding to put the picture on his desk, he got up and placed it on the surface. A quick look down revealed he was still in the torn uniform from the incident. Without a second thought he ripped it off and chucked it into a corner before pulling a clean one from a pile and putting it on. He was just finishing donning the fresh clothes when someone knocked on his door, which he opened to reveal the resident empath.

"Hey Rae. How you doing?". "Better. Can I come in?" the half demon replied. Beast Boy moved out of the doorway so Raven could enter. She gave no effort to explain why she had visited him, but he didn't really care. "It's kind of disappointing that after weeks, we finally find out where you are, only for you to take away the opportunity to go find you." the half demon said. "Yeah, that's how things work sometimes." the changeling offered. Raven gave him a half-hearted eye roll that slowly turned into a questioning look. She walked towards him while eyeing him up and down until she was directly in front of him.

"Are you taller?" she asked. It wasn't a lot, but she would have been willing to bet money he had gained another inch or so since he left. "Maybe." he replied as he seemed to compare his stature to Raven's. "Huh, guess I am." he whispered with a yawn. "Is there anything I can help you with? Otherwise, I'm going to hit the sack." Beast Boy asked. The goth girl sighed and tried to word her question in a way that wouldn't make it sound as weird as it was.

"Can I...would you mind...". Despite her attempts, the question was not going to come out right. "CanIstayinyourroomtonight?" she quietly blurted out. Raven was half expecting him to say no or ask her to repeat the question, and neither were outcomes she looked forward to. "Sure." he replied a bit too nonchalantly. "Just one condition." he added. He walked over to the bed and pushed the pillow aside, then gestured for her to sit down. The empath had a pretty good idea where this was going, and was proven right when the green teen used her legs as a pillow once she was seated with her back against the wall.

"Let me guess, you wanted to make sure I wouldn't run off again?" the changeling joked while pulling the covers over his body. "Yeah, I guess." Raven replied. While that was partially true, she just wanted to be around him again, and most of her emotions were feeling similarly. "G'night Rae." the green teen yawned before his eyes slowly drooped closed.

With a tender touch, the half demon cupped the green teen's cheeks and rubber her thumbs up and down. If she didn't know any better, she could have sworn there was slightly more definition to his jawline as well as the added height. Maybe the time in the wild was good for him. She slowly moved her hands up and stroked his hair. It was slightly dirty and greasy, but nowhere near as bad as one would expect from someone who had spent nearly a month without shampoo or running water. Despite it all, there was still that usual softness to his disheveled hair. A few quick scratches to his head elicited a series of gentle moaning purrs, which resulted in an adoring nose scoff from Raven.

Up on the roof, the other four Titans were watching as the red spaceship took off and disappeared into a distortion in the sky that flew farther and farther away until it was no longer visible. "Must we really allow friend Beast Boy to be thrown in jail?" the alien girl sadly asked. "You heard Kaldur, we can't give out special treatment. Especially in cases like this." Robin replied with a frustrated tone. "So now the question is: how long before the authorities come knocking on our door? After all, someone probably saw him and the others arrive at the scene." Cyborg declared.

"If it helps, I've been in there several times. It's not really that bad, but then again you never know what'll happen to the person that's partially the reason everyone is in there." Jinx offered. She hadn't known the changeling as well as the others, but he had been the one that encouraged her to change her life for the better. Of course she was going to worry for him.

"Maybe he'll get off easy for all of his hero work." Robin stated hopefully. "Yeah, the guy has helped us save the city so many times I lost count." the metal teen responded. "Us alone was about nine times." the sorceress joked. The other three lightly laughed and made their way down the stairs and into the commons room. There were still a few hours to spare, so Cyborg and Robin played a few games while Jinx and Starfire decided to go to the latter's room and talked.

After nearly an hour of braiding hair and painting nails, Jinx decided to ask something that had been on her mind even after asking another Titan. "Are Beast Boy and Raven a couple or something?". The resident alien was rather taken off guard by the question; usually it was her who had to initiate these types of conversations. "I do not fully know. All I do know is they find great comfort in each other's presence." the Tamaranean responded. That one morning she had checked on Raven was replaying in her mind, but she couldn't help but give a small smile at the picture of the two.

"What's so funny?" the sorceress curiously asked. "I was just remembering something. Do you think friends Beast Boy and Raven would be a couple that is cute?". "You and I both know they would. But what about you and Birdbrain?" Jinx replied. "I do care much for Robin, and while we have had 'the moments' as they are called, I do not completely know how he truly feels about me." Starfire explained.

"Well, the kid was trained by Batman, so expressing himself isn't his greatest skill. Maybe you could just ask him. Either way, I wouldn't be surprised if he's into you." the pink haired girl offered. "That is rather sound advice. I think it will be worth the try. What about you and friend Cyborg? After all, you were very good friends when he infiltrated Academy of Hive.".

"It's complicated, but it's not. Yeah, I like the guy, but I'm not exactly certain if I'm girlfriend material, especially for him." the sorceress replied somewhat disappointedly. "Why do you say that?".

"Well, I've been part of your team for a while now, but there's always going to be someone who remembers me as a villain. If I start dating Cyborg, his reputation as a hero might be tarnished. And a hero and former villain just can't end well in the eyes of the public, or the media." Jinx responded. "Well, I believe you should give it a try. After all, you have been a great help to the team, and I do not immediately recall hearing any civilians doing the calling you out." the alien offered. "I guess you have a point.".

"But speaking of the two, have you seen Raven? I haven't seen her since before the Young Justice left." the pink haired girl asked. The new team had finally given the Titans their codename, but in a way it was lacking suspense and mystery. Not that Teen Titans was any better.

"No, I have not seen her. But I believe I know where she is." the alien girl answered. "Wait, the two of them sleep together? Have they...done...'it'?" Jinx asked. Obviously the subtle hint had been picked up, and if the sorceress was drinking anything she probably would have spit it out.

"I do not believe so. As I stated before, they are very comfortable around each other, but it is more emotional than physical." Starfire replied. "Oh..." Jinx muttered with a blush. After all, who wouldn't be somewhat embarrassed by insinuating two teammates were sharing a bed in that way? "Yes, it was quite a surprise when I first saw them together.".

"Well, thanks for the chat. But I'm going to go to bed myself. Thanks Star." Jinx said as she headed for the door. "It was my pleasure. And feel free to stop by anytime." the orange skinned girl offered as the door closed. She could get used to having a third person to have "girl talk" with.

That is, if she could convince Raven to join in now that there was someone else listening in.

A short reflection on the discussion was enough to tire her mind out for the day, so she too decided to get some sleep, leaving the two gaming teens to their devices.

A few hours later, the green teen woke up from his slumber. The lights had been turned off, and the warmth indicated Raven hadn't left. A look to his side confirmed his analysis. The empath and put the pillow back but was rather close to him. She was sleeping peacefully, and Beast Boy just had to admit that she had a particular cuteness. Tearing his eyes off the woman sharing his bed, a glance outside revealed it was probably just after midnight. Despite his attempts, from counting sheep to focusing on Raven's scent, nothing could lull him back to sleep.

"Kiss my ass jet lag." the green teen grumbled to himself. Understanding the fruitlessness in the efforts, Beast Boy figured he might as well get up and start the day early.

Or was it late? Technically, his body still thought it was on Africa time, and over there it was somewhere after ten in the morning. Careful not to disturb Raven, he dragged himself from under the covers and left his room. Luckily he could use his night vision, so he could go without turning on the lights. It was at this moment he realized he had no idea what to do. Raven and Robin were the ones that woke up earlier, and he hadn't actually bothered to memorize their activities. Maybe some training wouldn't hurt. If anything, he might score brownie points with Robin. And the looks on the everyone's faces would be priceless.

But first, a cup of coffee was in order. Luckily for Beast Boy, the team had coffee grounds at all times, and he could easily borrow Raven's kettle if he was careful. Heck, he could even leave some water and tea leaves out for when she awoke. So that's exactly what he did. A few scoops of coffee and a drizzle of hot water later, the changeling was seated on the sofa enjoying his fresh brew. It wasn't a lot better than generic brand coffee, but his heighted senses amplified the taste and the scent to a level that would ruin the experience for anyone else.

With a satisfied exhale, the changeling quietly placed his empty mug in the sink and thought about what to do next. He had only been up for less than half an hour. Video games weren't any fun without another player, there wouldn't be anything good on television, he was saving his workout for later, and he preferred not to risk being seen in public for now. But then again, some fresh air couldn't hurt. With the stealth of a ninja, the green teen made it to the roof without so much as a floorboard creak.

The air was fresh and crisp. The crashing of waves echoed from below while the lights of the city gave the city a breathtaking glow. It was so serene, so calm. "I could get used to this.". For nearly fifteen minutes he sat on the ledge, taking in the sensations of the early morning. But even the amazing view got boring after a while. The perched teen looked down at the rocks and recalled the first time he flew as a Tamaranean.

"There's an idea." Beast Boy said to himself as an imaginary light bulb lit up above his head. After standing up, the changeling grew a few inches and developed a green glow to his emerald eyes. The radiation he had absorbed during his free time in the jungle was still stored, so he would have more than enough energy for a joyride. "Or would it be a 'joyflight'?". With a shrug the green teen pushed the question aside and rose in the air.

As he gained altitude he could see everything getting smaller below him. He allowed his ascent to stop and blasted forward.

A/N: Not much to say today. This isn't supposed to be a cliffhanger, FYI. Also, I got about halfway through this chapter before I got busy. I didn't realize that almost a week had gone by. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed.
