They had been down there for over three hours when the light flickered and the kids all screamed with terror, clutching one another as many adults did as well. Mothers moved to comfort not only their on children but an extra one or two with interest, the teens even slipping into the room as hiding in the walls was no longer fun with the Pack War now so loud that John had to yell to be herd down the coms.

Ianto looked up at the ceiling as the lights swung, the tremors from the rampaging up top making things a little… uneasy. Finally he huffed and left, heading up to the men and patting them on their shoulder as he found each one, motioning them down and setting the motion cameras to keep watch over the rooftops in case anything got up there. They moved without comment, accepting his order until Mace reached for John and touched his face, then retreated leaving Ianto and John alone up top.

John pointed and Ianto saw a massive brawl happening over in the area where they had burned the last lot, the thought of them maybe finding DNA in the soil caused some sort of reaction or reason to strengthen the temper tantrums they were having was a revelation and Ianto knew the clean up would include another pyre over there. It seems a good idea. And there were already so any bodies. One with a severed leg dragging itself along, the blood trail like a weird snail trail until a handful of it's own pack turned on it, tearing it apart. Seems this turf was included leadership challenges.

When all this was over the packs might have new members, a new leader or totally disband. If any were left of the smaller one that seemed to get the brunt of the attack right now. They were picking off the weaker ones. Gorum. A cull.

Ianto could not watch any more, his stomach churning as he nodded to John who set the last motion sensor for the top of the house. Like Ianto, he feared one climbing up and getting in.

Turning to slip inside the door Ianto found Jack waiting for them, weapon drawn as he smiled softly and ushered both men inside. Comforting to know he has your back, ya know? They headed inside, barricading the door and then instead of downstairs, they headed through the walkway at sped, not even breathing until they were in the barn where they listened intently to the battle outside the walls and checked the stock that were calm and not startled by the fighting outside. Most too happy with the feed provided to silence them, lulling many to sleep. A thud against the wall made John jump, swinging his gun that way then relaxing as he remembered this was reinforced. They could not get in. relax. Soothing thoughts calmed him and he glanced at Ianto who stood next to him, a hand on his arm as he encouraged John to focus. WOW. Right though his firewalls like they were not even there. John blinked as he felt the power flowing and glanced at Jack whose jaw was clenching to show his annoyance that John was seeing the power here. No. Now just….WOW… this man currently soothing hi was so much more powerful that he had first thought. He was getting a taste…. Like candy, the taste in the back of his mouth, the tingle in his tongue like he has sucked boiled sweet as Ianto told him to take a breath.

John took a breath.

Everything slowed down, time seemed to stall and the spike of fear ws gone.

Focus.

Then they ran back, checking doors as they went down and entered the room to find everyone a little nervous but ok.

"It can't last much longer, right?" John asked as he sat on the bed that looked like it was his, Mace already sprawled out across it unloading his gun around the kids.

"The longest was 24 hours" Ianto replied sagely "This patch is much sought after. But of course… that was when Lisa was here. Without her, anything is possible."

"Taddy, can you sing me a song?" Joshua asked softly, clutching Winkle with mild fear.

Ianto settled back and sang softly, filing the room as the townsfolk settled and children stopped crying. Warmth seemed to flow from him as something a few levels below lifted its head to hear the sweet tones of its master.

Everyone was calmed.

Including her.

For now.
