Symbiotes And Evil Angels.
A angry yell was heard as Tony Stark slammed his fist in to metal table, causing a large dent in it. A little while ago, Peter, Naoto and Miles had returned from their mission... but Lucina was not with them, which obviously caused a lot of concern for those that knew her. The three of them went to the leaders and told them everything. How symbiotes had suddenly began swarming a large part of the battle realm, and Lucina was lost to the mass. They didn't even manage to retrieve her sword before being forced to flee in order to avoid being added to the Symbiote horde.
"Damn it! Just when we think we finally have the upper hand against the villains, something bad happens! Can't we catch one break!?" Tony nearly shouted in frustration.
Light sighed as he stroke his beard "Fate is not kind to use, that much is certain".
"A symbiote army is worrying. They could turn our own allies against us. But we do know their weaknesses, and we have plenty of people that can take advantage of that" Cap reminded.
"Yes, you're right Steve. So our next plan is clear. Get as many people with literal fire power to form a defensive line that can keep the symbiotes away. Meanwhile, we should have or tech experts focus on developing sonic weapons" Tony said, finally calming down.
"Alright, we have a defensive plan and a future plan for attack. I just hope the symbiotes gives us enough time to work out our plans" Cap said.
"Then we better get to work" Light declared.
Meanwhile, Peter told some of the others what had happened. Two of them being Samus and Gwen. Safe to say, neither of them were to thrilled about this new development. Least of all the Bounty Hunter.
"This is my fault..." Samus said.
Gwen looked at her "What do you mean?".
"I should've killed Venom when I had the chance. But I let you talk me out of it. And now a whole symbiote army will be at our doorstep at any time now" Samus said, clear anger in her otherwise calm tone.
"Samus I..." Gwen began, but couldn't find the words.
"Killing is not the answer, Samus" Peter said.
"Maybe not in your universe. But in mine, I've been forced to kill more aliens than I can count. I don't enjoy killing, but when there is no other choice, I do not hesitate. I tried playing by your no kill rule, but that rule is clearly not working. Had I listened to my instincts and killed Venom instead of letting myself be talked out, non of this would've happened. He would've have gotten access to Phazon, and he wouldn't have an army now!" Samus said, doing her best to stay calm "A mistake I will not repeat. If I ever encounter someone who is to dangerous to spare, I am killing them, rather than letting them live so they can become a bigger problem later".
The spider heroes watched Samus walk away. Gwen looked at Peter in concern "You think she's right? Could this be my fault for stopping her from killing Venom? She didn't say it, but I know she partly blames me for talking her out of it. She only put the blame on herself because she didn't want to hurt me".
Peter sighed as he rubbed his hand "Kill or not kill. That is the question we face nearly every day of our lives. The reason we don't kill is because we believe in justice, and killing makes us no better than the monsters we face. Many calls us naive and even stupid, but that's what we believe in, and for the most part, we don't care if anyone gets mad at us for it... but Samus' universe is clearly different. I can tell she is someone who needed to kill just to survive, not to mention she is a bounty hunter, so killing is kind of in the job description... even so...".
"Maybe I should've let her... I mean since refuse to kill, we could just have someone do it for us. If we don't do the killing, then our hands remain clean, right?" Gwen said, but her tone made it clear she didn't believe her own words.
"But then we still would feel responsible, since we could've prevented someone from killing but didn't... I am already familiar with that feeling" Peter said before he sighed "I just don't know, Gwen. Everything has changed".
Gwen looked down, everything had indeed changed. No one really knew where they stood anymore.
However, when Chrom learned his future daughter had been claimed by the symbiotes, he was beyond angry. When it came to his family's safety, Chrom wasn't the most rational thinker and he was already prepared to leave the base and get his daughter back. Only to be stopped by his most trusted strategist, Robin.
"Going somewhere, Chrom?" Robin asked.
"You know exactly what I am going to do" Chrom said.
"I do, and I also know this is a reckless and foolish move" Robin said calmly.
"Maybe, but I am not just going to stay here and wait for them to come up with their plans. Every second we waste, we risk loosing Lucina forever. I can not let that happen, she's been through enough already" Chrom said.
"I know, Chrom. And I know there is no way I can stop you. That is why I am going with you" Robin said.
Chrom looked surprised at that "What? Robin you can't come with me, your strategic brilliance is needed here".
"They have plenty of strategists already. Besides, I know you won't last long without me being the brain to your brawn. And we can't afford loosing you. So I will come with you" Robin declared, his mind was set.
Chrom sighed but smiled "As always I can count on you Robin".
Robin smiled back "But it will take more than us to do this. So I managed to convince someone else to come with us".
Both men looked as Bayonetta walked out of the shadows "Nice to see you two are done. Now let's go rescue that little sweetheart".
The Symbiotes. A race of extraterrestrial parasites which have existed in many parts of the universe for several millennias. The Symbiotes envelop their hosts like costumes, creating a parasitic bond through which the host's mind can be influenced. They feed off the emotions of their hosts and they tend to force their hosts to perform spectacular and terrifying feats in order to feed off of the resulting rush of adrenaline. Eventually, these host beings would be completely sucked dry, exhausted by the constant stress and exertion, or simply die in a failed stunt. But if a Symbiote bonds to a super human, there is no telling how long the bond can last. Symbiotes are also fully aware and sentient creatures... or at the very least, normal symbiotes is.
The symbiotes spawned from the Phazon corrupted Venom seemed different from normal symbiotes. Acting less like individuals, and more like a hive, living and dying souly to serve Venom and his will. Making them even more dangerous, since being unable to think for themselves meant no in fighting of clashing of goals, something that drove Venom and Carnage in to their deadly rivalry.
And right now, the Symbiote infected Lucina was running at the front of a small symbiote horde, all running like a pack of predators. But they all came to a stop as a man showed up. It was Sephiroth.
"Ah, there you are my dear. But you don't seem to be yourself" He said calmly.
The Symbiote infected Lucina growled at him before letting out a high pitched roar, which made the pack rush at Sephiroth, who didn't look worried at all. As they got closer, they leap torwards him... only to suddenly be sliced to pieces. Sephiroth didn't even look at them, he was fully focused on Lucina. Said girl roars as she charged at Sephiroth with Falchion in her hand. She jumps to attack him but Sephiroth knocked the sword from her hand before grabbing her.
"Sorry, I am not interested in you, creature. I want the one inside you" Sephiroth said before using magic to forcefully separate Lucina and the symbiote.
Lucina landed on the ground... she was only in her underwear, as the rest of the clothes had been absorbed by the symbiote. She looked up in shock as she saw Sephiroth holding the symbiote in his hand. It was trying to bond with him, but for some reason, it couldn't do it.
"Pitiful creature, you are not worthy to be bonded to a being like myself" Sephiroth before using his deadly magic to kill the symbiote.
"Wh-what happened!? Why are you here!?" Lucina demanded, having retrieved Falchion while Sephiroth was busy with the symbiote.
Sephiroth looked at her as she was pointing her family sword at him "Now, is that how you treat someone who freed you".
"Don't play your games with me, Sephiroth! What do you want with me!?" Lucina demanded.
"Are you sure you want to demand answers now?" Sephiroth asked as he motions to the side.
Lucina glanced in that direction and noticed more symbiotes were on their way. And even bigger horde than last time. No way she would be able to face them all alone, and she had a feeling Sephiroth wouldn't stick around to aid her.
But Sephiroth offered her a hand "Come with me and I will bring you to safety".
"Why should I trust you?" Lucina demanded.
"Because, you don't have any other choice. You can take my hand, or end up being killed or forcefully bonded to those creatures again" Sephiroth said, he knew he was right, and Lucina knew too.
Lucina begrudgingly took Sephiroth's hand, and they vanished before the Symbiotes could reach them. The two reappeared at a different place. Lucina looked around and saw a lot of green and blue effervescent and luminescent waves or threads. She could feel the power in this place... something she had never felt before. At first she believed it was just magic, but it felt a lot more alive... and she could even hear faint whispers from it.
"What is this place?" She wondered.
"This is the life stream" Lucina turned around and Saw Sephiroth walk up next to her "When our universes merged, the life stream spread to this realm as well. But it has changed, with so many people around that is not part of the Life stream's natural flow, it has become unbalanced, confused... uncertain who deserves to join it once they die".
"You mean this is the after life in your world?" Lucina asked.
"Indeed. When someone dies, they return to the planet. But those with greedy desires drains my world's very life force to further their own filthy desire. Money, power, their foolish sense of control. All of it is meaningless to me" Sephiroth explained.
"And what do you desire?" Lucina asked, keeping her guard up.
"The last thoughts of geostigma's dead. Those Remnants will join the Lifestream and girdle the planet, choking it, corroding it. What I desire, my dear, is to sail the darkness of the cosmos with my world as my vessel, just as my mother did long ago. Then one day we'll find a new world and on its soil we'll create a shining future" Sephiroth explained.
His words were cryptic, but Lucina got the point of what he said "But... what will happen to your world?".
"Well, nothing lasts forever. Not even worlds" Sephiroth answered.
"You are planing on destroying it!" Lucina said before aiming her blade at him again "But all this doesn't answers my question. Why did you save me? Why did you bring me here!?".
Sephiroth smiled "Because, recent events have left me curious about the other worlds. And your world has peeked my interest. Through the limited connection the life stream has gained with the parts of your world that was pulled to this realm, I've learned a few things. Enough to know there is something very powerful, something divine. I want to know what it is".
"You speak of our goddess, Naga" Lucina realized.
"A goddess? Yes, that would explain a lot. Tell me everything you know" Sephiroth said.
Lucina glared at him "Why would I tell you anything? You only saved me for your own ends, I owe you nothing".
Sephiroth chuckled "Very well, I can wait. But remember, you are in my home now. And no one enters or leaves without my permission. Think about that".
Lucina watched Sephiroth leave. She shook her head and began searching for a way out... she didn't give in to Grima, and she would not give in to Sepiroth.
.
Sephiroth's reveal hit me like a Super Nova! I did not expect him to become a playable character in Smash. But I sure as hell Ain't complaining! I am happy we got another Final Fantasy character in the game. And I hope this means we get to see more characters from the rest of the Guest character's games make it in.
.
Tell me what you think.
