Setting Sail
It was the day before Michiru and Sango's big second honeymoon which is what they were calling their big trip even though Kanna and their babies would be joining them. Kaname was eagerly dragging Sango into a particular store in the mall. With Sango being less than enthusiastic about what kind of a store it was.
"Come on, Sango!" Kaname cried, "It's just a swimwear/lingerie shop! Nothing in there's going to bite or attack you!"
"It's not the clothing I'm worried about," Sango grumbled, "It's other men on the trip ogling and hitting me at the pool or on the docks."
"Do you really mean to tell me that you're going to lounge about next to the pools in the direct sunlight in a full kimono and hakama? Of course, you're not!" Kaname said rolling her eyes, "Now come on! Let's get you a bikini that suits you!"
Sango took a deep sigh wondering when in time exactly women were okay with being half-naked around guys in public. Also, the hypocrisy behind it baffled her. She never understood why being in bikinis that were skimpy enough to reveal their butts was okay to wear in public around total strangers, but when a man saw a woman in her lingerie, they all freaked out and caused a scene about it.
She didn't mind wearing skimpy lingerie around her beloved husband. Michiru respected her body and loved her for more than just her beauty. That's what inspired Sango to be looking her best around him. She had no fear that once age killed off her youthful appearance that he would up and leave her for something younger and attractive like most men in either the feudal or modern era did.
But her thoughts were interrupted by Kaname's voice saying, "Ooo! Look at that one, Sango! A cute light pink top with white highlights and a green bottom! It's like it was made just for you!"
Sango turned to her sister-in-law's pointing and let out an embarrassed blush! The bikini Kaname was pointing to indeed looked like it was a skimpy version of her kimono and hakama!
"It's held together with strings, and the back isn't a thong," Kaname deduced, "It reveals enough to be sexy, yet covers enough to be modest. What do you think, Sango?"
"I…I guess we'll take it…" Sango nodded.
"Great! I can't wait for my brother to see you in it!" Kaname giggled as they rung it up and paid for it.
The next day, the bus dropped Michiru and his family off at the docks. They had some luggage, but nothing they couldn't handle on their own. They walked the area some more until they came across what they were looking for.
"That's our ship," Michiru smiled, "You got the ticket, babe?"
"Uh-huh! Got them right in the baby's crib." Sango nodded.
"Then what are we waiting for?" Michiru smiled as he picked Kanna up and put her on his shoulders, "Let's go!"
"Wheee!" Kanna squealed happily as Michiru carried her to the ramp leading up to their ship. When Sango with the baby carriage caught up, they showed the conductor their tickets. They were welcomed on board with open arms and boarded looking up where their room was.
"Here it is!" Michiru smiled, "The Executive Suite! It's so good that I have a steady income of gold due to all the battles we've fought, the revenue from the schools and orphanages I've built back in the feudal era, and all. We can afford the best things in life."
"Yes," Sango agreed, "Even though you live a modest life with me, you're richer than the king! And far more respected."
"Well, let's go in!" Michiru squealed opening the door, "I didn't want Kaname to show me the pictures because I wanted to be surprised but….oh my….."
The room was magnificent! It was two stories, had a guest room for the children, a massive tub and shower, a baby grand piano, a small library, and a full bar. On the bed was a big banner that read, "Welcome Kururugi Family!"
"Ahem!" A voice spoke, "May I unpack your bags, Master Kururugi?"
"Hmm?" Michiru frowned as a polite gentleman in a lavish tuxedo, bowler hat, and white gloves politely bowed, "Butler service? I wouldn't dream of it!" He pulled out a bag of gold coins and handed it to the butler.
"Why don't you buy yourself your own room, if there is one available, and enjoy yourself?" Michiru suggested, "You work all day being polite to complete strangers many of whom probably take you for granted. You don't have to serve us. We can manage on our own."
"B-B-But sir, I-" The butler started to protest.
"Dear?" Sango spoke as she gestured for Michiru to listen to her whispering, he knelt and listened.
"Hmmm, a splendid idea, Sango," Michiru spoke as he pulled out his phone, "Hello, Tokyo Airport? It's Michiru Kururugi here. Have my private jet ready to head for Colorado. No, I am on a cruise right now. The trip is for the hard-working butler they assigned to us. Yes? Very well." He hung up the phone and smiled, "On second thought, my good sir, go to the airport. My pilot will be waiting for you there. Show the ticket counter attendant this card, and my pilot will take you anywhere you wish to go for the next month as long as your final destination is in Colorado. There you and your family will enjoy the lush mountain scenery of my penthouse in Aspen for a full month."
"S-S-Sir, I…I don't know what to say…" The butler protested, "Won't I get fired?"
"No," Michiru spoke, "I will explain to the captain the situation. I will compensate your paycheck for the trip. Now go on. Get out of here. Pick up your family and enjoy a much-needed free vacation!"
"Thank you, sir!" The butler cried as tears streamed down his face as he accepted the card with the image of a red star surrounded by a red lion, a green raptor, a blue fish, and a white serpentine dragon, packed up his own belongings in the butler's quarters, then left happily.
As he sped down the hall, Michiru shook his head as a pair of strong arms wrapped around his frame.
"That's why I love you," Sango's voice purred into his ear as she glomped Michiru from behind kissing his neck, "Always giving back what you take away from the world."
Michiru smiled as he turned to his wife, "It was your idea to give him my plane and our penthouse suite, Sango…"
"Yes," Sango nodded, "But it was your idea to give him a free trip."
Michiru smiled as he said, "Why don't I make accommodations with Kanna's play group and send Michigo and Sanru to the daycare area? You and I should spend our first day here…alone…."
"I'll order room service while you're gone," Sango nodded, "Be back soon."
"I will," Michiru promised, "Come on, Kanna. I'm sure you're looking forward to doing some fun things here. You don't wanna spend your entire trip hanging with two older people all day!"
"Yay!" Kanna squealed as Michiru grabbed the stroller and told Kanna to stay close to him.
This was the first day of what was going to be a very fun trip. And it started with scoring come brownie points with his wife. That made his act of generosity all the more precious.
