Third Person's P.O.V.
Lilith
The words sent shivers down the spine of every vampire in the cave. Not because they were frightened, but because of the sheer power the voice spoke with. The person, a female, held a tone that commanded attention from every person in the cave.
Snapping his head to look at the intruder, David let his face change, and he let out a loud hiss. The woman, if you could call her that, was wearing all white. Her skin was a deathly pale that even David seemed disturbed at seeing, and her lips looked as if she had stained them with blood. It only seemed to make her pale white blonde hair stand out even more.
"Oh David, don't you know it's impolite to hiss at company. Even more so when I could crush all of you without even thinking about it." The way her lips pulled into a snarl sent chills down his spine. He had heard that voice before, but he couldn't place it.
"Listen lady, we don't have time for this. If you want to live, you need to leave." Paul growled with barely restrained anger. Looking for Charlotte, and coming up empty handed every night was taking a strain on the usually cheerful and laid back man. He never turned down a snack, but now wasn't the time.
Surprisingly, she threw her head back and laughed. It disarmed the group and unsettled David even more. She was one woman against six vampires. Surely she had to be frightened, but it seemed as if the woman was just taking an evening stroll. Something was nagging at David. He couldn't place her, but he was positive they had met.
"You're right David. We have met before. I've met all of you, but few remember it enough to recognize me." This confused the group. Some were positive they had never seen this lady in their lives, dead or undead. Slowly, David was remembering, and the look on his face said it all.
"What are you talking about? We don't have time for riddles, lady." Marko growled as the woman stepped closer to them. The way she moved was as if she was walking on air. One would use the word ethereal to describe her, and it was the perfect word.
"Oh yes, you need to find our Charlotte." Everyone in the cave was shocked. Dwayne and Paul's eyes grew large, and Marko sucked in a breath. David simply stared. He knew who she was, but was confused at how she would know their mate. Before he could tell any of them that, Marko ran at her.
The speed the vampire ran was faster than a human could comprehend, but that didn't stop Lilith from waving her hand, sending the boy flying across the cave. The cherub-like vampire hit the wall with a sickening thud but shook it off. He looked at her as if she had offended him. She raised her eyebrow, giving him an incomprehensible look.
"Anyone else want to try that? Like you said, we don't exactly have time for this." Her voice, while still majestic and powerful, held a tone that worried the five vampires.
"Who are you?" Star questioned, the disbelief evident in her voice. Marko, the most outwardly sadistic of the group, was just thrown across the room like a rag doll, and this woman, if that's what she was, didn't even touch him. Star had never witnessed anything even similar to what just happened. Her life may not be nearly as long as David's has been, but she was positive that wasn't normal.
"She's Lilith, the one who created us." David answered for her. He had seen her, when he was transitioning. The man didn't think anything of it at the time, and in the past few hundred years of him being alive, he'd forgotten the white haired woman who called to him the first time he fell asleep a full vampire.
"Wait, I thought that was a myth, and what does this have to do with Charlotte?" Dwayne called from his corner he was positioned in. When the intruder first entered their domain, he situated himself so that he could attack and make sure everyone else escaped, but when Marko had been thrown across the room, the vampire realized it wouldn't do much.
"I'm not at liberty to tell you that Dwayne. I made her a promise that she would tell you or you wouldn't know." The woman, goddess, shrugged her shoulders, and one would think she was human if you ignored her outward appearance.
Paul wasn't having it. He ran to the goddess, and she let him. Lilith could tell he wasn't going to harm her. He was worried and distraught. Lilith felt the same, only she had eons of practice on how to control her emotions. The vampires around her were children, babies, compared to her, and she reminded herself of that.
"I don't care what promise you made her. She might not have a chance to tell us herself. Tell us what you know! Tell us or leave!" The boy growled, his face that of a human, but the orange golden glow in his eyes was a too animalistic. He stood inches from her, and she easily could've ripped his heart out.
"Paul, calm yourself." David commanded, his voice rough, but Lilith knew he was taking the situation hard as well. Pain, worry, and guilt were hidden in his eyes if one looked deep enough to find it.
"It's alright my child. Sometimes I forget how strong the bond of mates are. Charlotte's secret is her own, but I know she wouldn't be upset if I told you. The circumstances are dire. You will need to sit and be patient as I tell you. I know it will be difficult, but to understand the full story, you need to pay attention to every detail." The boys and girl nodded, but every last one of them had a hard time following the rule. Marko's leg was shaking with a passion, and Paul's eyes kept jumping to the cave entrance. Both wanted to jump up and run to their mate before it was too late. Star kept her eyes on her feet, guilt running through her with a vengeance. If they had only gotten there ten minutes earlier, this wouldn't have happened. Charlotte would be here, making her laugh, playing games with Laddie and getting ready for a night on the Boardwalk. Star blamed herself. They all did.
"This is the story of a girl who didn't have a real home, so she threw herself into fictional things, trying to make up for it. Charlotte's mother was never around as she grew up, in and out of rehab as her and her siblings got older and older. Her father was a tough man. He loved her, but it was clear she never fit in. She was too similar to their mother, looks and habits. She was ostracized, out of place, and one such thing she obsessed over was a movie, a movie titled 'The Lost Boys'."
The boys didn't outwardly show their surprise, but each and every one of them could feel it. They wondered why Charlotte had lied about her upbringing at first, but it was quickly erased by the questions they had about this movie. If the title was anything to go by, it was a movie about them. Lilith held her hand up to stop any questions from being asked. They didn't have time for questions.
"Yes, this movie is about all of you. To put it simply, all of you boys end up dying in the original timeline. As she grew older, her love for this movie did also, but she couldn't help but feel saddened at the loss of every one of you. She would stick up for you incessantly, never backing down on your behalf. She knew that, while you did kill people to survive, it was your way of life. Charlotte looked at it a way no human did. I knew she was the one to save you, to give you something you've been missing, and so I sent her to you.
That night you first saw her on the Boardwalk, was the night I sent her here from her world. She had complete knowledge of the events that were to come to play, but she, nor I, could foresee what has come to pass." As the woman finished, it was evident she felt a sliver of guilt over sending the kind mortal girl to such a dangerous place, but it was overwhelmed with anger. The burning hatred she had towards her children who dared to touch the girl she had claimed as her own. Yes, all vampires were her children, but Lilith had never felt such a strong bond with any of them.
Marko was blinking quickly, as if unable to process what he was told. Paul frowned, feeling sick all the sudden, and Dwayne was feeling similar. David was having trouble coming to terms with everything he was just told, and Star looked as if someone had taken a stake to her heart. The only person to show their emotions on their face was Star, but Lilith could tell each of them were struggling coming to terms with it.
Hearing that Charlotte was sent from another world, from her family, to help them only added to the guilt and anger they were experiencing. Dwayne remembered the night he took her to Max's and how frightened she seemed. He had purposely terrified her, and she only wanted to save them. David, the one who originally wanted to kill her, felt his head figuratively split open. Kind, innocent, and, at first, insignificant Charlotte wanted to stop their demise, and he was ready to bring it upon her.
"No wonder she knew things she wasn't supposed to." Star whispered, thinking of every time Charlotte would say something seemingly small. Everyone would overlook it at the time, but now it made sense. The way she looked at the bottle, seemingly indecisive, or how she knew she was a halfling.
Lilith nodded, her eyes flickering over the group, taking in their reactions. Each of the boys looked troubled, and Lilith could understand why. It wasn't everyday you found out that somewhere, you were nothing but an insignificant movie, and that one girl was sent to save all of them from their deaths.
"What are we supposed to do now?" Star questioned, something everyone in the cave was thinking, but Lilith sent her an devilish smirk. It looked almost wrong on her beautiful face.
"I happen to know where they are."
A/N: I hope you all enjoyed it. I know it took my forever to update, but I was so worried about writing something good that nothing would come out. I figured that I might as well write what I wanted instead of what everyone else did.
I hope everyone is surviving and doing the best they can in these crazy times. Stay safe, everyone!
Anyways, hopefully it won't be another year before my next update!-Emily
