Shizukana's P.O.V

It's been two weeks since the invasion and nearly a week since Itachi's sudden appearance. After finding out that Itachi's resistance to my Time Manipulation, I haven't had a wink of sleep.

I researched about the Sharingan and probably know more about it than Sasuke does. There's not a single word about resistance to time manipulation. I mean, there isn't anything about Time manipulation anywhere. But from my findings from the Sharingan, I've concluded that the Uchiha are known to be the Masters of Genjutsu because the Sharingan can see through then and dispel them. My Time Manipulation manipulates one's perception of time. Meaning that it's distantly related to a Genjutsu. The Sharingan can see through it and also allow the user to move freely with no effect of the Time Manipulation.

But this conclusion also brought up new and more upsetting questions. Can Sensei also resist it? Itachi has two Sharingan's and is a pure Uchiha. From what I've heard, Sensei gained his Sharingan from his friend which was transplanted into Sensei's left eye.

But then, if Sensei can do so, he would have caught me during the bell test. Unless Kakashi Sensei's headband has a two way sealing placed on it. A two-way sealing blocks both the Sharingan and a Byakugan from seeing through an object. Or in this case, the headband cloth. The sealing also prevents the User Sharingan from seeing through. If the Sharingan 'see' through then it would take vast amounts of Sensei's Chakra.

This is so frustrating. I emerged from my thoughts and let out a long sigh. I was currently sitting in Sasuke's hospital room. I have been visiting both Sasuke and Sensei. Sometimes I would sit with Lee in the courtyard.

I've noticed that Lee is different from your everyday Shinobi. He knows that he may never be able to return to his Shinobi activities but it doesn't seem to stop him from training. He hasn't let go of his hyperactive energy.

My daily routine so far was, visit the hospital for maybe 3 to 4 hours a day. Hit the library for around 5 to 6 hours. Then head back home. I couldn't train since I was on 'medical leave' and there weren't any missions since the team is temporarily on vacation.

Naruto sent me a letter saying that he is close to finding Lady Tsunade and he is training harder every day. It's kinda fun to read Naruto's messy handwriting, especially if he misspells a word.

I stood up and walked out of Sasuke's room and walked across to Sensei's room. Their rooms are just next to each other and it makes it easier for me to visit them. Sasuke's fangirls visit him while Sensei's Jonin friends visit him from time to time but I think I am their frequent visitor.

To be honest, they have grown on me. I miss Naruto's smile and bubbliness. I also miss Sasuke's glare and brooding. And Sensei's pathetic excuses and sarcastic jokes are the one's that I miss. It kinda hurts seeing them unconscious. But I did what I could.

"Knew I'd find you here." A voice interrupted me from my inner monologue. I looked at the door to see Sakura smiling at me. I smiled back.

She walked into the room. "Shizukana, how are you doing?" She asked me. She looked at Sensei and then gave me a sad smile.

"I'm doing fine. It's just different since the team isn't functional yet." I said leaning back into the chair. She walked towards Sensei file and read through it.

"His vitals are fine but there seems to be a disruption in his spiritual Chakra. I'm sure he'll be fine." She said trying to cheer me up.

I nodded. "I know. Both of them will be up and at it in a few more weeks." I said and she just smiled sympathetically. We talked for a few more minutes before she left for some work.

I looked at Sensei before walking out. What shall I do now? I walked through the roads of Konoha aimlessly. I stifled a yawn as I climbed the steps of my building. I walked through the grey corridor before subconsciously walking to Taka-Kun's door.

Every time I passed through it, I would always remember his goofy smile from behind the door. But that would then change to that heartless smirk she showed before right after he attacked me. I walked towards the door and laid my hand on the door before slipped a marked tag under the door and teleported inside.

The whole place was filled with dust. I coughed before making my way through the hall. Everything was in its original place.

The kitchen still had dishes in its sink and there was a cup of tea on the counter. I slowly walked towards it and dipped my finger in it. It was cold meaning that it was made before Takada 'left' the village. It hurts to call him Taka-Kun.

I wiped my hand on my pants before walking into his living room. The place was messy. All types of kunai were laid on the table and metal scraps covered the corners of the room. As expected of a blacksmith.

The walls were decorated with photographs from before Takada retired. There was a picture of me and him. We were looking at the camera. He had a bright smile on his face. I just stared at the camera with a blank expression. But even I could see the sparkle in my eyes. It was when I was 9 years old. Some famous artist visited the village and he held a convention. Takada was excited to go and he dragged me along.

I clenched my fist at the photograph. It could have all just been a ploy to gain my trust. With anger surging through me, I grabbed a kunai from the table and flung it at the photograph.

The frame fell to the floor and the glass shattered. But that wasn't my biggest concern. My biggest concern was the small safe which was hidden on the wall. I walked towards it, careful not to step on the glass.

I looked around the room and placed my hand on the metal. I flicked the door and it gave off a small 'clink' sound meaning that it was metal. The safe had a 4 digit code. Electronic safes were expensive in Konoha. There must be something very valuable there.

I peered at the number pad and noticed the fingerprints on the buttons. The last time I minded my own business ended with me getting attacked. So I guess, its detective time.

I ran to the kitchen and got some tape and some flour. I walked back to the safe and blew some flour into the number pad. I then placed a tape on the top on the number pad. I gently patted the tape and slowly peeled it off. It wasn't my best work but it was fine for now.

The oil from Takada's fingers was left on the number pad. But it was a four-digit code so the numbers he had pressed were 1 5 6 8.

Four digits from 0-9 would mean 10,000 possible codes but I've narrowed the 4 digits he used. But I don't know which order. Which would mean 24 different codes?

The safe has a 3-inch casing of titanium alloy. The bolts on the door are made specifically to open only then the passkey is entered. I only have three turns before the safe goes on safety lock for a delayed amount of time.

You must be wondering how I know this. I read a lot, and apparently how safes work is now common knowledge to the common people

I entered the first four digits in chronological order. 1 5 6 8. The red light blinked to green before turning back to red. Damn it. So the key must be personal to Takada. I looked around the room and went through the pictures and books trying to find a relation to the numbers.

I headed into his room and went through the drawers until I found a journal. I was a person that respected privacy but I had no choice. What if the contents in the safe were meant to hurt someone? Throwing my morals and principles aside, I went through the journal.

I scanned through the pages until I came across the numbers. 1 6 5 8. It seems to be number for his admission to the academy.

I placed the book back in the drawer and walked into the living room. But my admission for the academy wa 1. I sighed in irritation before putting on the keypad. It blinked green before changing back to red.

Without wasting any time, I entered 8 5 6 1 on the keypad. The light blinked green before a beep echoed in the room. The lock inside gave a click sound and I smirked in victory. I was about to open but then remembered a scene from the T.V series of Sherlock Holmes. Vatican Cameos.

What if its a trap. There must be some sort of mechanism to stop someone from reading it. I opened the door and ducked down for safety measures. I stayed down for a while until I heard a loud thud.

I looked at the wall behind me to find a kunai on it. Vatican Cameos it is. I stood up and looked inside the safe. There were a bunch of files and some money. I ignored the money and took out the files. They were branded Confidential.

I sat down on the couch and went through the files one by one. The first few were details about random missions in other elemental villages. The file that caught my attention was the file with my name on it.

I opened it to find a picture of a 5-year-old me. There were details of my parents and myself. But what stood out the most was a particular mission.

Eliminate Sozoshi and Midori Tori.

I inhaled sharply at the title and read through. I felt tears gather in my eyes at the details of the mission.

My parents' murder was the organization to make me an orphan. Why would they do such a thing? I read through the rest. The Kumo-nin that had invaded the house was working with Danzo. Danzo Shimura. He wanted me to join the root and to do so, he had to eliminate all relations of mine.

I closed the file and shut my eyes. But why would Takada have the file? Was he in on it? Does he work for Danzo? Then why would Kabuto come to the apartment? Is Takada working for Orochimaru too? Or is Danzo working with Orochimaru? I rubbed my temples as I felt my headache.

I opened my eyes and took a deep breath. I took a new, separate file. The glue they used to seal the file was still sticky meaning that the file was recently opened.

I opened it to find another picture of me. But this was my Genin registration.

My eyes widened at the content. How did they get this information? Closed the file and gathered the rest of the files and shut them in the safe. I quickly cleaned up the mess and teleported to my apartment.

I ran into my bedroom and locked the door. I sat down on my bed and put my hands on my head. How in the name of God did they find out so much? I was so careful. They know about my time manipulation. They killed my parents. I found it hard to breathe. As if I was underwater. I clutched my chest and shut my eyes. A panic attack. I tried to take deep breathes but it was as if someone was choking me.

I felt tears flow down my cheeks. Calm down. I let out a shaky sob and tried to tale a deep breath. Calm down. You're gonna be alright. It's fine. I kept repeating those words in my head like a mantra. But all I could think was the fact that they might come to take me and brainwash me into serving the Anbu.

I stood up and fumbled on the door lock. I finally unlocked it and stumbled into the hallway. I leant against the door and took deep breathes. I counted from 1 to 10 and them backwards. Something that calms me down. I clenched my fist and released it several times.

Knock knock.

I froze when I heard the sound of someone knocking on the door. I stood up straight and bolted into the bathroom. I quickly washed my face and straightened my clothes before running to the door.

I opened it to find Shikamaru's concerned face. His eyes wandered from my face to my clothes.

"Are you alright?" He asked me.

I just nodded my head and opened the door to let him inside. He stepped in and closed the door behind him. He left his sandals near the door and followed me into the living room.

I motioned for him to take a seat but he didn't. Instead, he just walked towards me. "You're not alright. You look like shit." He said making me chuckle.

"Good evening to you too," I said gaining my posture. I gave him a bright smile but he didn't buy it. He looked around the room and then sat on the couch.

"Sarcastic as ever." He muttered but I heard it. "When's the last time you slept?" He asked me making me look at him. He was looking at me seriously.

I scratched the back of my head and gave him a sheepish smile. "To be honest, I've lost track." I looked at the floor cause I knew he would give me the 'look'.

The 'look' is when Shika raises his eyebrow in concern but his eyes tell a different story. His eyes show that he wants to kill me. He gives me this look when he's disappointed in me and has no idea on what to do with me.

I looked at him to find him muttering coherent words. He stood up and walked towards me and dragged me to my room.

"What are you doing?" I asked him.

"Pack your clothes, you're staying with me for the night." He said making me raise my eyebrow.

"Wow. Charming move. This isn't the way you woo a lady, Shika." I said making him turn red.

"Just pack, troublesome woman." He said looking away from me.

I smirked and got a backpack and stuffed some clothes in there. I pushed down all the information I just found out and focused on anything else except the files.

Once I was done, I looked at Shika and he took my hand walked out of the apartment. I locked my door and followed him.

We walked through the streets of Konoha and made it to the Nara compound. "Shika, I'm having second thoughts. I'll just go home." I said pausing in front of the gates.

He looked at me and yanked me inside and closed the gate. I pulled me through the pathway and inside his house.

"Tadaima." He said announcing his arrival. "Kaa-san, I've brought a guest."

There was a rumbling of pans and then loud footsteps were heard. Out of nowhere, Shikamaru's mother pounced at him. She was holding a frying pan and was wearing a green apron.

She looked at Shika and then at me. She smiled at me and then looked at Shikamaru while wiggling her eyebrows. "I was wondering when you'd bring a girl home."

I and Shikamaru made eye contact and it was my time to turn all red and flustered. "Mom!" Shikamaru whined. Nara-San just ignored him and walked to me. She gave the frying pan to Shika and took the bag out of my hands and tossed it at Shikamaru.

"Welcome, dear. Why don't we have some dinner?" She said with a sweet smile.

I smiled. "Oh Nara-Sama, I'm fine. I'm not that hungry." I said politely declining. But she didn't want to take no for an answer.

"Nonsense. No guest of mine will starve. And please call me, Yoshino, Nara-Sama makes me feel old." She said while pushing me towards the dining room.

"You are old," Shikamaru mumbled under his breath but a little too loud. I heard a loud thwack and a thud followed it. I turned around to find Shikamaru on the ground rubbing his head.

I looked at Yoshino-san who just kept nudging me to the dining room. I shrugged my shoulders and walked in.

A/N. Hey guys. Sorry for not updating. Hope you enjoyed and what do you think about the files? I know this isn't the best chapter but I will upload a much better one next time.
