My head hurt. The cell was cold. I shifted, turning my back to the door in a weak attempt to pop it.

"You okay, kid?" Clay asked. I grunted. "I'm sorry."

"Mr. Clay," Nurse Joy said. "It's not your fault." She moved around in her cell. "They would've blown up Driftveil city if you disobeyed them!"

"What did they have you do?" I asked, turning towards Clay. He adjusted his hat. The frigate rumbled.

"I built a tunnel."

"A tunnel where?"

"A tunnel under Mistralton City." I rolled, bumping into the translucent orb. The orb rolled across my cell and hit the wall. I stared at it for a moment. "They're going to attack Mistralton city." Clay explained. "It's where the remainder of the original Team Plasma is at." The orb shimmered. I inched closer to it, struggling at my ties. "I don't…" Clay trailed off. The orb started to glow brighter. Then I was on the ground, surrounded by grass.

Fight.

The word bounced around in my head. Kyurem's voice. Did Kyurem free me? Why? I instinctively raised a hand to my temple. I was unbound. A blue tower stood tall in the distance. I spotted buildings further down the path, Mistralton city. A few people were standing around, talking and pointing. The frigate was slowly descending in the sky above Mistralton. I took an unsteady step in its direction. My xtransceiver rung. I blinked, surprised to find it in my pocket. I answered. Bianca's face appeared on the screen. She gasped.

"Kenya! He answered!" She shouted. A muffled 'what?' came from the background.

"Bianca?" I said weakly.

"Are you okay?" She asked. "You've been gone for days!"

"Days?" I checked my pockets finding no pokeballs. They were still on the frigate.

"Days! We were so worried about you!"

"What happened?" I asked.

"And I can't find Pignite!" Bianca added. "I looked everywhere!"

"Where are you guys?" I struggled to get a word in. Kenya's face appeared behind Bianca.

"Driftvei—" The xtransceiver slipped out of my hand, Bianca's voice shrunk as it fell. The thing, floating above the frigate. A white sphere.

"What is that?" Someone asked behind me. The sphere contracted, a piercing ring echoing across the sky. The sky flashed white. I ducked, covering my head. Something soft and cold landed on my back. I hesitantly looked up. Snow. The sky was filled with a seemingly endless wave of snow. I stared up at the sight. I glanced down at my feet, the xtransceiver was nowhere to be seen. My feet were buried in snow. I kicked around through the snow, searching for it.

"Help!" I straightened up, looking around. A hand was jutting from the snow a few feet away. I hurried over, grabbing it. A face was there, breathing heavily. I got ahold of a nearby tree branch for leverage and tugged the guy out. He was a tall guy, black hair.

"You okay?" I asked, patting him on the back as he recovered.

"What was that?" I spotted the frigate, unmoving over Mistralton.

"I don't know." We made our way towards Mistralton. He introduced himself as Duke. There was another guy, huddled up against a tree. Corban. The snow started falling harder as we arrived in Mistralton. People were gathering outside of the Pokemon center. I spotted Cerea among them. Zinzolin appeared, in the middle of the street. A man with long white hair was with him. He fiddled with a megaphone.

"Who do you think you are?" Skyla, the Mistralton gym leader, approached Zinzolin. "Did you do this?" She gestured to the sky. Zinzolin smiled. He raised the megaphone to his mouth.

"That guy's team plasma," Duke said. I nodded.

"People of Mistralton city!" Zinzolin spoke through the megaphone. "I'm glad to announce that Team Neo Plasma is occupying this city!"

"Yeah right!" Skyla knocked the megaphone out of Zinzolin's hands. He backed up. The white-haired man vanished. "You guys better pack up and get lost!" A Pokeball. I spotted the red glint as it fell from the frigate. It seemed to drift gracefully through the falling snow.

"You're supposed to ask what we want," Zinzolin crossed his arms. I could hardly hear him. Skyla grabbed his coat collar.

"I don't care what you want!"

"I'll tell you anyway. We want all of the Team plasma traitors taking refuge in this city!" He raised his hands to the air. "Give them up or we'll turn this place into a crater." The Pokeball hit the ground a few feet away from Skyla. She'd barely turned her head when the Gigalith erupted from it. The Gigalith flashed and exploded. I was blown off my feet. I landed softly in the snow. My ears rang. Duke helped me up. Smoke was in the air, people were running in different directions. Zinzolin was shouting. I couldn't see Skyla anywhere. Pokemon were appearing. Zinzolin spotted me. His face twisted. I blinked. He said something under his breath. An Archeops flew over his head, coming straight for me. Without a thought I went for a Pokeball I didn't have. Duke sent out an Amoonguss.

"Giga drain!" Amoonguss attacked with a green light. Archeops swerved down into the snow. It recovered quickly and tackled Amoonguss. "Do you have pokemon?" Duke asked. I shook my head. "Amoonguss, toxic!" Another explosion went off, knocking us over. Several other Neo Plasma people appeared around Zinzolin. He gave them orders and they scattered into the growing smoke.

"I have to get my pokemon!" I got up and made a beeline for Zinzolin. He saw me coming. A Serperior's tail whipped out in front of me. I hit it and was wrapped up in seconds. Zinzolin laughed.

"How did you get out here?" He asked. I noticed a strange headband he was wearing. It was metallic and covered with several blinking lights. Was he somehow controlling the pokemon?"

"What are you people doing?" I demanded.

"Were punishing traitors," Zinzolin said. "I've explained this to you." A Neo Plasma woman returned from the smoke, she was dragging a screaming man.

"This isn't Ns will!" The man shouted, flailing.

"Shut up!" The woman kicked him. "Lord, where will we store the prisoners?" Zinzolin tapped his chin.

"The Gym." She nodded and dragged the man off. She waved to a few others who followed suit. I struggled against Serperior. It tightened around me. "It's useless," Zinzolin said.

"Let him go!" Cerea appeared a few feet away. "Flame charge!" A familiar streak of fire. Tepig slammed into Serperior. Serperior weakened but didn't give. I struggled harder. Serperior spun, whipping Tepig with its tail and coiling tighter around me. "Keep attacking!" Tepig shrugged off the attack and lunged again. This time, Serperior dodged, yanking me along as it maneuvered around Tepig. Zinzolin was laughing. "Ember!" Serperior raised me between it and Tepig. The flames scorched my calf. I cried out. "Oh no! I'm sorry!" I could hardly hold back tears. "What do I do?" I tried to think. Focus. Serperior spun, lashing out at Tepig. Tepig was thrown backward. Cerea ran after it, disappearing into the smoke. Another explosion went off. My leg was screaming at me.

"A friend of yours?" Zinzolin asked. "Not much of a trainer, is she?" I tried to speak. All I could manage was a pathetic whimper.

"Giga impact!" The force sent me sprawling through the air. I landed in the snow and rolled. I took a moment, sitting up. Serperior hit the snow, shaking its head. A Stoutland stood over it, shaking snow off its fur. A guy stood behind it. I hardly recognized him. "Long time no see," he said. "Fire Fang!" Stoutland's bit Serperior with flaming fangs. Serperior collapsed. "You remember me, right?" I had no clue who he was.
