A/N: Requested by anonymous, prompt 12. The ask didn't specify which list, so I took a guess: "I'm pregnant."
"Kens, you ok?" Deeks asked, knocking lightly on the bathroom door. Based on the sounds coming from inside, she was definitely not "ok", but he wasn't sure if he needed to be worried or not.
There was the sound of running water and then Kensi emerged a couple minutes later, wiping at her damp mouth. She looked pale and a bit shaky.
"I'm fine. I think I just caught whatever your mom had last week," she answered.
"Maybe you should stay home," Deeks suggested, concerned even if it was just a stomach bug.
"I feel better now," she insisted, grabbing suddenly at his arm as she listed to the side. She covered it up by patting his shoulder and then slowly walked out of the room.
Despite Deeks' concerns, Kensi seemed to recover pretty quickly. By the time they arrived at the mission, she was singing along to Celine Dion (badly) while he pretended to cringe.
As the day went on, she seemed completely like her normal self.
"Ooh, you know what we should get for dinner tonight?" she asked as they walked up to OPS. "Sushi. I've been craving some edamame and spring rolls."
"Well, you're definitely feeling better," he commented.
"I feel fantastic." She reached over to smack his butt, grinning cheekily at him.
"That's my girl," he said as she walked backwards through the sliding doors.
"Ok, so our main suspect was found dead this morning," Nell announced, gesturing to the screen which had a blown up picture of a man with his throat slit.
Kensi made a strange sound and gripped his arm, her nails biting through his jacket.
"Kensi?" Her face was completely pale, even more so than it had been that morning. She made another choked sound and muttered a strained,
"Excuse me." Every one stared after her in concern as she all but ran from the room.
"I'll be back," Deeks said grimly, following more slowly. Already his mind was filled with thoughts of severe food poisoning and deadly microorganisms. He'd seen Kensi fight off stomach bugs by sheer force of will. Something was definitely wrong.
He waited outside the bathroom for the better part of 15 minutes.
"We're going to the urgent care," he said the second she opened the door.
"Deeks-"
"No. You never get sick and you certainly don't get sick looking at crime scene photos. The guys can handle it without us."
"Deeks, just stop talking for a second," Kensi said, looking up at the ceiling for a moment. She bit her lip and then smiled, whispering, "I'm pregnant."
"I don't care-Wait, you're what?" he demanded as Kensi let laughed, her eyes shining with unshed tears as she nodded.
"I'm pregnant," she repeated.
"But we weren't even trying last month," he said, stunned.
"I know, but this test says I'm pregnant." She held up a white stick, her hand shaking slightly.
"Oh my god," he said, pulling her into his arms. "I can't believe we're actually pregnant."
"I know," she said, leaning up to kiss him. "Are you happy?"
"Ecstatic," he murmured, grinning down at her.
"Me too." She kissed him again and then groaned softly. "But maybe don't hold me so tight."
"Right, sorry," Deeks said, loosening his arms. Kensi was looking paler again.
"And, we might need to put that sushi on hold," she added.
"Sure thing." He smiled warmly, brushing Kensi's hair back from her face. "I love you."
"I love you too," Kensi whispered back.
