Chris had just won a battle at a place called Oxcross and taken a bunch of prisoners. Now he was touring the aftermath with his bannermen.
"How are we going to feed all these prisoners?" said a guy named Roose Bolton. "We're struggling just to feed our own men."
"Well, they've got to be fed," said Chris. "The Lannisters have my sister Meg. If we mistreat our prisoners, they'll mistreat her."
"They'll be doing that anyway. Traditionally, my family has always flayed captives alive!"
"We don't do that sort of thing in the North," Chris said firmly. "Not anymore."
They came across a dark-skinned nurse treating a wounded Lannister soldier. She was preparing to amputate his leg to prevent a wound infection spreading.
"Don't cut off my leg!" he begged.
"I got no choice," the girl said. "It's either your leg or your life."
"Why not just cut off his head?" said Roose. "Why are you tending to Lannister soldiers instead of Northmen?"
"The Northmen are not my men," she retorted.
The wounded man started screaming and flailing his limbs about wildly. He almost kicked the girl in the face. She couldn't get close enough to him to perform the amputation.
"Here, let me help," said Chris. He grabbed hold of the man's arms, restraining him and enabling the nurse to cut off the wounded leg.
After the patient was carted off, Chris asked the girl, "What's your name?"
"Pam," she said. "So, you're the one they call King in the North."
"That's right," said Chris.
But Pam wasn't impressed. "You're the reason that guy lost his leg. You're responsible for all these people who are wounded and dying."
"No, the Lannisters are responsible!" said Chris. "King Joffrey started this war by killing my father!"
"Well, King Joffrey's not here," she said. "The common soldiers have nothing to do with him. The man you just saw was a fisherman's son from Lannisport, and no warrior."
"Well, I'm not angry at people like him," said Chris.
"I hope your lack of animosity will help his foot grow back," she commented drily.
Chris scratched his head. "Ani-what? What does that mean?"
But Pam did not answer. She packed up her medical instruments and started loading them onto a cart in silence.
Chris ran over to her. "Look, I have to fight this war. Do you really want Joffrey to go on being king?"
"So, you just want to overthrow him so you can be king yourself?"
"No, that's not it! I want to avenge my father."
"And yet for all the bloodshed you've caused, you still haven't revenged yourself on the people who actually killed him."
Pam started to ride away on her cart, but Chris called after her, "Wait! Where are you from?"
"Volantis," she replied.
"Wow, you're a long way from home then. Luckily for your patient you were here."
"Unluckily, you were too," she said as she rode away.

Quagmire arrived at Renly's camp in the Stormlands. "Ah, Glen Quagmire, my favorite whoremonger," Renly greeted sarcastically.
"Where's Lois Griffin?" Quagmire asked. "I heard she was here."
Lois came out of a tent. "What in seven hells are you doin' here, Quagmire?"
"I came to see you," Quagmire said.
But she wasn't happy to see him. "You helped them kill Pee-tah!"
"Now Lois, that's just not true. I tried to stop Joffrey from cutting off Peter's head, but there was nothing I could do," he lied. "But… now we're both single, and there's nothing keeping us apart anymore. Lose the zero, get with the hero, am I right? Giggity, giggity, g…"
Lois cut him off in mid-goo. "Back off!" She drew a knife from her belt.
Quagmire held up his hands. "Okay, okay. Real reason I came over here was to tell you that the Lannisters will give your daughter Meg back if you release Jaime."
Lois's expression changed. "You've seen Meg? Is she all right?"
"Oh, yeah, she's great," Quagmire said. "Getting more beautiful every day, just like you. I'm sure she'd love to see you again."
"Well, I already talked to Chris about tradin' Meg for Jaime, an' he wouldn't go for it."
"Maybe you should consider the terms on your own, as a mother," said Quagmire. "Oh, I almost forgot. I brought you a gift from Tyrion Lannister."
Lois then noticed the two Silent Sisters standing behind him carrying a chest. "What is it?"
"Figure it out for yourself."
They set the chest down and Lois opened it to find what was left of Peter's body. "He was an honorable man," said Quagmire. "He deserves to be buried with his family."
"What would you know about honor?" said Lois angrily. "Get outta here before I turn ya into a eunuch like your friend Varys."
