The Fight

The terminals indicated multiple incoming ships. Each and every last one a sort of TIE fighter. Sabine was in charge of getting the children to safety. Ezra, Luke and Mara, Ahsoka, and Rex were to hold back the offensive till Sabine got back.

Ezra looked to the plains as a small speeder carried his children to the city. There they would be safe from this attack. Ryder was to keep them under triple guard and have some caretakers there with them. He just hoped this would all be over soon. He wanted to live normally, with his family.

"Ezra? Ezra you in there?" He felt a tap on his shoulder. Mara was trying to get his attention.

"Y-Yeah, I'm here. Just worried is all." Ezra gave a faint smile as he took his blaster out. He would run dual wield until he needed to run saber only.

"I know, just keep your head in the game. We won't go down without a fight." Mara said bravely as she readied her bright purple blade.

As they continued to talk, a large transport landed. The ramp lowered revealing two or three battalions. Everyone got ready.

"Ahsoka, Rex, you two ready?" Ezra asked the duo.

"Ready as I'll ever be General." Rex said with his pistols drawn. Ahsoka just nodded her head. Twin blades also drawn.

"Rex, you know I was never a general right?" Ezra asked the old clone.

"Yea well. Jedi Knights and Masters were always generals to us. Figured I would keep tradition." Rex chuckled as he pulled on his old helmet.

"Alright, here they come." Luke said as the group split into respective teams and took on the troopers.

Luke and Mara were in perfect sync. Luke would block and rush. Mara was just dodging blasts and slicing bodies.

"Do you have to kill them all Mara?" Luke asked when they had a minute.

"No, but old habits die hard." Mara smirked back.

She had no real problem with killing, and Luke didn't try and change her. Although he had asked her to dial it back a bit. The two managed to take out three full squads before moving to the transport ships.

Ahsoka and Rex were using the sword and shield maneuver to blast their way through. Ahsoka would block shots from the troops, while Rex would shoot what he could. What he couldn't hit, he grenaded.

"Your getting old Rex." Ahsoka called out as she pushed up.

"I'm definitely not getting younger." Rex shouted back.

Eventually the pair had gone through most of the troops, not killing as many as Mara, but wounding them enough so they couldn't fight.

Ezra stayed back, waiting for a certain Mandalorian to return to help. About the time Luke reached the first transport, he heard a familiar jetpack land beside him.

"Ready, love?" Sabine said sweetly.

"Of course, cya'rika. Let's bust some buckets." Ezra laughed as he pulled his emerald blade and grabbed onto her arm. She flew the two of them to where Ezra sensed a strong presence. One he had not felt since Dxun. They landed on the ship's hull and Ezra cut a hole in the top. "After you."

"Always such a gentleman." Sabine said as she dropped in. Ezra right behind her. The two worked their way to the bridge, cutting down anyone in their path. The only troops they didn't incapacitate were two that dropped their weapons and showed themselves to the brig.

The automated doors hissed open revealing a stunned Requiem. Ezra had shrouded their presence while they infiltrated the bridge. Requiem was caught off guard and forced to attack.

"You will not win Jedi. I have an army to take those little brats of yours." She grinned wickedly. Her eyes shining a sickly yellow as they crossed blades. Sabine took the chance to shoot all troopers and officers in the room before taking control of the ship.

"Your army has been defeated. My team has bested your Imperial forces and now I will best you." Ezra pushed her back and charged with his blade held high. Left, right, left, down, right, down, up, right. His attacks were flawless and fast. Requiem stood no chance. Not when he cut her blades apart again, not when he cut off her hands.

"You will pay for this. My Master…" She fell to the ground with a smoking hole in her chest.

"Sabine!?" Ezra asked annoyed.

"What? Stupid bitch took my kids, I owed her at least that." Sabine laughed as she piloted the ship to the ground. With their leader dead, the Imperial forces retreated.

The rest of the team met the ship as it landed. The ramp opened to reveal a victorious Ezra and Sabine holding hands. Now it was time to retrieve the kids from Ryder. As the group flew into the city in the Gauntlet, Rex and Ahsoka flew the old transport in. It was to be used in the Lothal Defense Force. The two ships landed on one of Ryder's personal pads outside his office. He was out there to meet them. The Gauntlet's ramp opened, and Ezra walked down first.

"Ezra Bridger. It's good to see you again son." Ryder said as he shook the younger man's hand.

"It's been awhile Ryder. Thank you again for looking after the kids on such short notice." Ezra said as Sabine, Luke, and Mara came down behind him.

"Ah Sabine, nice to see you've added a new addition to your collection of ships for the defense force." Ryder chuckled as he inspected the ship.

"It only has a few bodies to be removed, courtesy of Sabine of course." Rex laughed as he exited the transport.

"Captain Rex, it's been awhile since we last spoke. How is the New Republic?" Ryder shook the clone's hand.

"Well it certainly isn't the Old Republic, but anything is better than the Empire." Rex said.

"You can say that again. And speaking of the New Republic. You must be the Jedi I have heard about." Ryder said turning to Luke.

"Luke Skywalker, this is my wife Mara Jade." Luke said.

"Pleasure." Mara stated, bored already.

"Well I'm sure you guys wanna get the little ones and head home so I'll take you to them." Ryder led the groups to his office to find all three girls in a little corner. Mira and Celeste were playing with an old ball, while Anna slept on a small pillow. Sabine walked over and picked up the sleeping Anna. Ezra got Mira, and Mara got Cel. Mira was still didn't seem to trust Mara, as she kept looking over Ezra's shoulder at her. It was if she was trying to protect Celeste from Mara.

"She really doesn't like me, does she?" Mara asked as she and Celeste followed the group.

"Give her time, it takes a while before she can trust anyone she doesn't already know." Ezra replied.

"Smart girl." Luke chuckled as he walked beside Mara. He could see how happy she was at carrying the little girl and wondered if having kids wasn't such a bad idea after all. "Oh and by the way, Ahsoka. Would you like to come back with us to rebuild the Jedi order?"

"Sorry, Luke. I left the old order and the path of the Jedi a long time ago. It wouldn't be right for me to come back now." Ahsoka said as they walked on.

The group made went back to the ship and back to the tower. Once there, all three girls were put down for a nap. Leaving the adults to talk in the living room. Ahsoka and Rex had left a few hours ago, so Luke and Mara were the only ones left.

"Sabine, I noticed that you have a kyber crystal for a necklace. Any reason why?" Mara asked, sensing the song from within the krystal.

"Yes, Ezra got it for me for life day a couple of years ago. I have no idea what color it would turn to though. I want to be able to pass it down to one of the twins when they are old enough to have a lightsaber. It's a Mandalorian tradition." Sabine explained.

"Well do you want to see what color it will be? We can always take it out and put it back on the string." Luke offered.

"Sure, why not." Sabine tried to hide her excitement but failed miserably. After a few hours and a bunch of work, a hilt was completed. It was strangely simple. Silver in color, with small gold pieces. Black grips, and a cupped emitter.

"Alright Sabine, light her up." Ezra said as he stepped back. Sabine took the hilt and pressed the activator switch. A bright pink glow lit the room. Ezra stepped forward and placed her hand on a special part he added.

"Here, press this switch." Ezra said as he let go. She pressed the button and the color changed to a dark purple, much like Mara's own blade.

"How did you do that Ezra?" Luke asked amazed.

"Well when you hang around a very tech savvy Mando, things tend to stick with you." Ezra laughed.

This was the perfect ending to a very long day.

I forgot where I read about a color changing blade, but it's cool so don't judge. I tried to give some details for the battle, but I kinda suck at this. Writing isn't my forte as you can tell. Can someone find my pattern with the titles? Tb out
