A/N: Longer chapter, it got away from me.
At the police station everyone waited for Anthony's father Lorenzo to come in to ask him questions and try to see if he may know who would want to hurt his son. "Dan, maybe you should talk to him," Chloe said. "Y'know, Dad to Dad, maybe he'll open up."
Dan sipped his coffee. "Yeah I can try but a guy like Lorenzo probably won't give it up to a cop if he suspects who did this."
"I could help," Angel offered. "Dad to Dad. I have a son." Angel jumped at any chance to mention he has a son, without thinking of the implications of further questioning.
"So that's not a myth," Lucifer mumbled. He was never too sure on that one from the Hell gossip mill, he'd heard different versions, some from Hell Loops of some involved. The Devil shifted comfortably. Quor'toth was supposed to be a place for creatures even too bad for hell. For all Angelus did, Angel didn't deserve that for his son. Son's shouldn't pay for what their fathers' do. His siblings were holding humanity over Angel. Lucifer wondered if Angel's famous guilt was contagious, he was feeling bad about how the forces have royally screwed Angel over the more he got into the game of redemption. He and Maze saw his remorse first hand and that was before he became LA's Champion. That didn't sit right with him; even if the part of his life where Angel kicked his son out was true. Sinking to the bottom of the ocean was at least a better reason than a rebellion.
"Oh, how old is your son?" Dan asked.
"Thirty-five," Angel said casually. Kate rubbed her temple with one hand and elbowed Angel with the other arm before he started talking about his grandson.
Dan did a double take, Angel didn't even look thirty five. Chloe nearly spit her own coffee out. "Wow, parents say thirty-five months now," Dan rationized. "We stopped counting months at two, right Chloe?"
"Right," Chloe confirmed, wanting to know more about the son of a vampire. "Now she thinks she's a tween going on thirty five."
"Kids grow up too fast," Angel lamented. "Wait, you two have a child?" Angel saw Lucifer grabbing Chloe's ass when they walked into the station.
Lucifer loudly scoffed. "The Urchin is no mere child, she's the most formidable opponent you'd ever meet. She made Maze her best friend. But yes, my Detective used to slum it before me."
"Lucifer, I thought you were Bracelet Bros," Ella said.
"Bracelet Bros?" Kate questioned. "Are you and Spike Ring Bros?" she added to Angel.
"He tried to kill me!" Lucifer exclaimed.
"That was your twin's fault," Dan argued. "I mean I would never commit murder, Kate. It was a misunderstanding."
Kate shrugged. If someone tried to kill the actual Devil he probably had a reason. "Whatever you say. That's not why we're here." Kate sighed. She wasn't one for pretenses but she also didn't want to break Dan's mind. "Angel and I know he's the Devil."
"Of course you do," Dan replied. "That's right you were into the whole…." Dan paused looking for the right word. "I mean there were rumors…"
"I knew about supernatural forces and everyone thought I was crazy, I wasn't."
"Wait didn't you think vampires existed, not angels and the devil?" Dan was sidetracked by his phone ringing and he took it. "Lorenzo is coming up," he announced. "Who is questioning him? Me and Angel?"
"I'm coming too," Lucifer said.
Chloe pulled Angel aside before they went to meet Lorenzo. "I just have to know, do you have mojo too?" Chloe asked.
Angel blinked. "Mojo?" It clicked. "Oh Lucifer still does the desire thing? No, I don't have mojo or a thrall."
"Doesn't Dracula have a thrall?"
"Dracula is a jackass," Angel said. "He stereotyped us all and-"
"Okay," Chloe cut off. "I know a 'the media has done me wrong' rant when it's starting. If you don't kill people, how do you survive? And how do you interrogate people?"
"I drink pigs blood. As for interrogation, threats of violence, actual violence, show some fangs and that always makes them talk. Sometimes I get visions but I didn't get a vision of this case."
"Well if you can, that'd be great."
Ella came over to them. "Hey I know you have to get to talking to Lorenzo but I just have to ask, are you the vampire with a soul?" Chloe and Angel stared at Ella in shock, "I've been on the dark web since finding out Lucifer was the actual Devil. There's a lot about Angel the vampire with a soul and you look dead so maybe you're him?"
"Hey, I'm him," Angel confirmed. "Just what do they say about me?"
"Depends on what website you're on. You were quite the monster without a soul but you've been protecting LA… accept for that 'terrorist attack'" Ella used air quotes. "But I get you meant well. I'm Catholic so I get redemption."
"Dan can't know Angel's a vampire even if he was just questioning their existence," Chloe insisted.
"Oh, I know," Ella said. "I'm not stupid. Dan's not ready."
"So vampires have kids?" Chloe asked.
"Just me. He's a miracle and he's actually thirty five years old. But he was born in two thousand one," Angel explained. "And he has a son." Then smiled and took out his phone.
"Show off your grandson another time," Kate interrupted, she knew the look when Angel whipped out his phone at record pace excitedly. "You have to interview Lorenzo and I want to go to Trina's magic shop to see if there was a break in or to see if anything's missing in case this is mystical and time is of the essence."
"Can I come to the magic shop?" Ella asked excitedly.
Kate hesitated. "If you're going to be this perky, no,"
"I can be more like him." Ella pointed to Angel and scowled.
"The three of us will go to the magic shop," Chloe decided.
Lucifer, Dan and Angel went into an office to interview Lorenzo, to make it feel like less of an interrogation and more friendly. "Don't mention the symbol incase that tips Lorenzo off and he goes out for revenge, we're fishing for leads," Dan instructed.
Once in the room, Lucifer eyed the short, balding man that was Lorenzo. "You're the big bad hitman? You're built like Danny DeVito." Angel and Dan cringed at Lucifer's lack of tact.
"I've never gone to jail for murder and my son just just died," Lorenzo snapped. "I knew coming here was a mistake. Can't trust the cops."
"Mr. Garza, we are here to help," Dan assured him. "We're trying to find out who killed your son and we're very sorry for your loss."
"Whatever people think you do isn't of our concern just finding justice for your son," Angel added.
"Justice will be had," Lorenzo vowed.
"What was your son like?" Dan asked. "As a Dad, I can't imagine what you're going through."
"Nothing worse than something happening to your child," Angel sympathized.
"My boy was a good guy," Lorenzo insisted.
Lucifer leaned on the desk and looked at Lorenzo in the eyes. "Tell me Mr. Mob Guy, what is it that you desire?"
"Lucifer there are other ways-" Angel started.
"I want…" Lorenzo started. "I don't want people to know about my son."
"Never mind," Angel shook his head.
"Know what?" Lucifer asked.
Lorenzo shook his head. "My son… he wanted to be a witch. A witch! I hope he didn't do nothin' stupid. I don't want people laughing at his funeral." Lorenzo started to cry. "You try to raise 'em right, y'know?"
"Didn't he get busted for selling drugs behind a middle school?" Lucifer asked Dan. "I'm told that's too young to start. But this is what you're crying over?"
"He never would have forced kids to use," Lorenzo defended.
"Good for him," Angel said sarcastically. "How do you know your son was into magic?"
"The girl, Trina. At first I just thought he was stepping out with his boys' girl but there were all these smells, he lives in the apartment above my garage. Our cleaning lady found all these strange books in his room when she was putting away his laundry and I asked him."
"Trina was his friend's girl?" Angel picked up.
"Yeah but they weren't cheating. I think Trina did magic whatever with Pete too and it's really not a euphemism. I wish it were."
"We should talk to Pete to see if he has more information on Trina. Do you know how to get a hold of him?" Angel asked.
"No."
"You're lying," Lucifer pointed out.
"He is," Dan confirmed. "Peter Hansen was arrested with your son on several different occasions. That's Pete, right?" Lorenzo remained silent. "I'll be right back."
"If I thought Pete did it I'd be over there now," Lorenzo insisted.
"I don't want to be hostile, Mr. Garza. You're grieving, but we really need to find out who killed your son," Angel said once Dan left. He was growing concerned this was part of a ritual. "So you're going to tell us where to find Pete." Angel sighed and flashed his vampire face briefly.
"The boys hang at a garage downtown, Speedway," Lorenzo frantically confessed.
"Brilliant!" Lucifer smiled.
As Lucifer and Angel exited the office, Angel got a call. "We sent an image of the symbol to my team and they called to say it's the mark of Frethler," he told Lucifer after the call ended. "Frethler supposedly was banished to another realm by a warlock and offers the promise of immortality and strength to anyone who can bring him back."
"I take it he wasn't banished for breeding puppies," Lucifer guessed.
"Wants to bring death and destruction to every being that isn't with him. We're looking at an apocalypse if they succeed. I told you it was mystical."
Dan came over. "So we got a hit on the symbol," he announced. Angel and Lucifer were surprised. "It's associated with the Lost Boys Gang."
"There's actually a gang called the Lost Boys?" Angel shook his head.
"I think the bigger point is there's a gang associated, like I thought there was," Lucifer countered. "These guys get the symbol tattooed."
"Once you're officially initiated you get it somewhere. Anthony didn't have it tattooed, just carved into his hand," Dan answered. "It's possible Anthony wouldn't officially join a gang to hold out for his father's group. Speaking of, you guys left him?"
"He told us where Pete is," Angel explained. "Speedway garage downtown. We're going to head there."
"Yeah, let's go," Dan agreed.
"No, Angel and I should go," Lucifer said.
"Devil or not, two police consultants aren't going into a gang garage to look for a suspect alone."
Lucifer looked at his watch. "What time is it, Daniel?"
Dan looked at his own watch. "What? It's-TRIXIE! I gotta go, wait for me or call Kate and Chloe." Dan ran off.
"Who's Trixie?"
"The spawn of him and my Detective. Nickname for Beatrice."
Angel shook his head in judgement. "They call their daughter Trixie?"
"Don't even get me started! Such an error in judgement from my otherwise smart Detective. We'll take my car." Angel didn't object since he wanted to ride in the corvette. They headed to the car.
"Are you and Chloe together? You call her Detective?"
"I started before we were together and now it's just our thing. Dad made her to put her in my path."
Angel was surprised. "What? God made Chloe?"
"Hm. Sent my brother Amenadiel to bless her parents with child so one day we'd meet."
"And you're okay with that?"
"I wasn't. But, it's not enough to make me not love her."
"Lucifer Morningstar is in love? Didn't see that coming."
"You and me both. So you and Detective Kate...?"
"Oh no. She'd never date a vampire, her dad was killed by vampires. We're just friends and it's been a rocky road to get to where we are."
"Plus you can't shag, right?"
Angel shook his head. "I can. Just not… perfect happiness. So, uh-"
"Meaningless shags are fine? Good for you!"
Angel sighed. "Sounds good. Except, y'know, it's hard to maintain a relationship if they know the reason we can is because… I've had girlfriends but eventually, they want more such as kids on top of someone who would say they're 'the one' that I can't give. How would you feel if you could sleep with anyone but Chloe?"
Lucifer cringed at the thought. No, he'd want Chloe. "That would suck, and I've had a lot of sex. Do you worry that you'll accidentally sleep with someone who would unleash Angelus?"
Angel shook his head. "No. The women who would aren't an option. One's dead and the other, the one who landed me in Hell, she's moved on. As she should. I broke up with her to give her the option to have as close to a normal life as a slayer can. Now that there are lots of slayers, she is. We've long been over and I'm really okay with that. The other woman... she died before we could figure us out and be together but she was my best friend and we were in love but it was complicated leading up to her death."
"Do you want to be human?"
Angel shrugged. "If it would be safe, yeah. Existence has gotten better now that I have a son, which was also rocky but… yeah. I'm going to outlive everyone I care about. I have outlived some people I care about because they got involved in my mission."
Sidestepping Amenadiel's shared immortality worry, he focused on something else. "If it's safe?"
"I was human for a day twenty years ago from the blood of a demon. My old girlfriend, the Slayer and I were together for that day but I was told if I stayed human, it'd get us both killed since I lost my strength and she was still the only girl Slaying. I couldn't do it. I had time folded and took the day back. But I don't think that would be an issue now."
"Damn," Lucifer shook his head. "I went back to hell for a few months recently. My brother Amenadiel has kid, he had fallen for a while, long story. My demons escaped from Hell and wanted that baby to go be the new King of Hell. The only way to keep him, Chloe, everyone safe was to go back. But Hell is kinda self run, with Amenadiel and I checking in from time to time. Lucifer and Angelus, self-sacrificing. Imagine finding that out two hundred years ago?"
"It's good you were able to come back to Chloe," Angel was wistful at the thought of a relationship working out.
Lucifer shrugged and tried to think of happier topics, since Angel was obviously bummed out it didn't work for him. "On a another note, since we didn't actually see each other when I helped in two thousand four, we haven't been in a fight together in a century."
Angel smirked. "I'd say that we're overdue."

A/N: Luci in love and Angel without perfect happiness conversation was longer than I originally intended. Up next, Angel/Lucifer and Ella/Chloe/Kate investigate and some more Angel characters will probably pop up. Reviews/feedback would be appreciated. I'll take suggestions under consideration if I can pull off working them in.
