It wasn't a long walk to Draco's flat, but it felt like forever. The girl, who still remained nameless, had been silent throughout their journey. Draco had considered striking up a conversation to take her mind off of what had just happened, but he was pretty sure that all she wanted right now was silence. As they turned each street he would occasionally glance back at her to confirm that she was still okay with following his lead. She looked distant and sad but nodded each time, giving Draco her blessing without saying a word. Her face was slowly swelling up from where the douchebag had hit her, a faint purple bruise forming under her eye. Seeing it made Draco's blood boil, how could any guy do something like that to a girl. Especially one as sweet seeming as her.

Those occasional glances had allowed Draco to take greater note of the girls appearance. She had light freckles across her nose and dark fluttery eyelashes. Her chin was rounded and her bottom lip slightly bigger than the top. She had on a simple silk black cami and black jeans, with a black pair of suede boots. The fact that she was wearing so much black should have given Draco the impression that she was the opposite of sweet, but he could tell from her face that she wasn't the kind of girl to be anything but nice to someone.

As they rounded the final corner of their trip and turned onto Draco's street he figured he should probably let her know where he was leading her. The last thing he needed was her freaking out that some random dude was dragging her back to his flat. In truth he hadn't really thought about how it might look to her, he had just wanted to get her away from the git in the alleyway and take her some place where she could put an ice pack on her face to prevent the swelling from getting any worse. The hospital was at least a thirty minute drive away and by the time they would get there her face would be the size of a balloon judging by the way it had inflated over the course of their five minute walk.

'Erm,' Draco started. The girl looked up at him, seemingly shocked that he was capable of speaking. Smooth, he thought to himself as he collected his thoughts.

'The closest hospital is a little while away so I thought it would be best to bring you to my flat, since your face is getting bigger by the second. I promise I'm not a creep trying to get you back to my place. I just have an ice pack you could use. Well, maybe not an ice pack but I definitely have some frozen peas and I think they would do just as good a job…,' Draco mentally cursed at himself. He was rambling. He needed to wrap it up quick before he made any more of a fool of himself.

'Anyways my point is, you don't have to come in if you aren't comfortable, I can call a cab and we, or just you, can go to the hospital to get yourself checked out.'

For the first time since they had met Draco saw a slight smile tug at the corner of the girls rosy lips. He was glad his rambling had amused her, for both her sake and his.

'Going into your flat is okay with me. After what you just did I owe it to you to give you at least a little bit of my trust,' she said. Her voice was steadier than it had been before, which helped Draco believe that she really meant what she was saying. He just nodded back at her, as they walked to his front door. He let go of her hand so he could grab his keys from his back pocket and he instantly missed its warmth. He could have let go of it a few blocks ago but he had wanted to keep her at arms length, just incase that loser showed up again - or at least that was what he was telling himself. As they got into the elevator Draco punched in the number five on the keypad. His apartment was on the top level of the building and took up the whole floor. Since he had moved up to London from Brighton a couple of years ago he had been house sharing with his two best friends, Theo and Blaise.

If it had been up to him he wouldn't have gone for a place as big or lavish as the one they were currently in, but he had been the last one to the party and without a penny to his name when he had arrived, so he hadn't been in the position to be picky about his living situation. Blaise was in the music industry and Theo was a well-established YouTuber, so they had both had the money to live a little fancier. Having convinced Draco to join them in London, he was slowly making his way up to their career status level, but he wasn't the type to be show offish with his money the way his roommates were.

As they made it to the front door, he figured he should probably find out her name, really he should have asked her ages ago.

'I'm Draco by the way,' he said to her as he held out the door for her to walk through.

'Draco. It suits you,' she mumbled as she made her way past him.

'And you are?' he prompted, not wanting to be pushy, but unable to hide his curiosity.

'Oh sorry, I'm a bit overwhelmed right now. Just trying to get my head together, my bad,' she quickly explained, clearly not wanting to come across as rude.

'I'm Hermione.'
