Stalking Shadow

As the three of them made their way back to her home, where she'd been allowing Hisashi to stay ever since her husband had found himself caught in the crossfire between the Yakuza and the small Hero group that she'd formed to work with, Nana couldn't help the thought that something was wrong. The thought that, when she and Hisashi returned to her house, the pair of them would find…

Biting down on her worry, Nana turned to look over at Hisashi.

"Nana-chan, you're so tense," Hisashi said, taking a step closer and wrapping his arms around her.

She was grateful for the reassurance, of course, but there was still something that felt off about this whole situation…

"There's something about this I don't like, Hisashi-kun," she said, narrowing her eyes even as she called up One For All.

At least enough of it so that she wouldn't be facing whatever – or whoever – it was that had managed to find the home that she shared with Toshinori and Kotaru without at least something to fall back on besides just Float. Unlocking the door as subtly as she could, Nana found herself smiling again when she felt Hisashi's large, warm right hand resting on her left shoulder.

"Thanks."

"Of course," he said, the air around them positively charged as the pair of them called up the powers of their respective Quirks.

For his part, Hisashi called up a sensory-enhancement Quirk, as well as a speed and also a generalist durability Quirk to complement the new information he was going to be furnished with once he and Nana-chan made their way into the house where Shiro's seventh successor had made her home with her remaining family members. Allowing his enhanced senses to expand throughout the house, Hisashi ground his teeth as his senses honed in on the shuddering form of Toshinori.

Following in Nana-chan's wake as she bolted for the sofa, Hisashi settled down on Toshinori's right side.

"Toshi-kun," he said, reaching out to gently remove Toshinori's right hand from the remains of his eye, touching the side of his face as he called upon a Healing and a Regeneration Quirk from within the depths of All For One.

Leaning into Shigaraki-san's hand, Toshinori sighed softly as he felt the healing energies of one of his many Quirks went to work on his face and the remains of his right eye.

"Thanks, Dad," he muttered, feeling the adrenaline that'd pretty much been the only thing keeping him up long enough to see the rest of his family coming home ebbing away nearly faster than it'd come up in the first place.

Sinking into the warmth he could feel on his forehead, Toshinori found himself remembering the man who'd attacked him and Kotaru-chan in their home while the rest of their family was away. He didn't know quite why he'd be thinking about such a horrible person at a time like this, when he was safe and happy and with the only real family he had, but soon enough Toshinori found that he could relax again…

Chuckling softly as he shifted Toshinori-chan's weight in his arms, maneuvering the boy that Nana-chan had all but adopted as her own until he laid neatly in his arms, Hisashi stood and made his way over to where Nana-chan was standing.

"Thanks for looking out for him, Hisashi-kun," Nana-chan said.

"Of course, Nana-chan," he said, smiling as he handed Toshinori-chan over to her. "There are a few errands I need to take care of," he said, the mental images he'd pulled from Toshinori-chan's mind still fresh within his own.

It seemed as though there was a loose end that still required tying up.

Once he'd seen that Nana-chan and her children were settled and comfortable in their little home, Hisashi left the three of them to get what rest they could. The loose end that he'd spotted had clearly gone to ground somewhere. It would, naturally, be up to him to seek out said loose end and tie it up.

Still, that was hardly the only thing he intended to do.

After he'd visited his third grocery store, Hisashi did indeed manage to find the man who'd broken into Nana-chan's home and ended up costing Toshi-kun his right eye.

Moving in behind the man, the six pack of cherry soda that he'd previously purchased for himself – as well as the four pack of crème soda that he'd purchased to help Toshi-kun recover from his ordeal earlier today – firmly suspended with a levitation Quirk, Hisashi stepped slightly closer to the man. Activating the Quirk that he had taken to calling Puppet Master, Hisashi came into range of the man who'd been so foolish to act against those Hisashi had taken into his heart.

Ripping control of the man's limbs from him, Hisashi calmly walked him out of the store, then down a few roads to a construction site.

It seemed to be the site of some battle or other, but the main thing Hisashi noticed when he walked the man into the site was that the main grounds were not being worked at present. It would, therefore, adequately serve the purpose he had in mind. Making his way into the site office, activating a subtle vocal-based suggestion Quirk, as well as the Panoception Quirk that he'd gotten such a good amount of use of ever since he'd taken it for his own, Hisashi found himself smiling.

This place, more than almost any other, would serve his current purposes rather well.

After handing over the sodas he'd purchased for himself and Toshinori-chan, directing one of the remaining construction workers to put them in the refrigerator to chill, Hisashi walked the escaped Yakuza out to the construction yard itself. Looking back over his left shoulder, smirking as he saw the clear expression of terror on the face of the man who'd been such a fool as to actively hunt down Nana-chan's sweet family, Hisashi walked the man down into a dirt-sided pit near the back of the construction yard.

Curious as to just how foolish this particular man was, Hisashi pulled his Puppet Master Quirk back into the greater whole of All For One.

Judging by the furious expression that twisted the man's face, as soon as he had regained conscious control over his limbs, Hisashi knew the man he was facing was entirely too foolish to take the chance that he had been given to preserve his own life. Amusing enough, but there had been a part of Hisashi that wished to return to Nana-chan and her family. Still, there were few enough times when he was given the opportunity to indulge all of his urges.

In that light, Hisashi thought that he could afford the extra time such as this would take.

When the man pulled a gun of all things on him, Hisashi found that he couldn't help himself: he started laughing.

"How scary," he said, grinning as he called upon a barrier Quirk, intercepting the six bullets that the man fired at him.

Calling up one of the more powerful telekinesis Quirks that he possessed, Hisashi reached out for the hand and arm that had held the gun that this particular ex-Yakuza had been so foolish as to brandish at him. Wrenching the arm in his telekinetic grip, Hisashi twisted length of it below the elbow until the limb was practically ready to snap off entirely. As the soon-to-be-ex-Yakuza writhed in pain on the ground, Hisashi made his way closer.

There were indeed few enough times when he had the chance to truly indulge himself, and such times were bound to become all the rarer as he, Nana-chan, and her amusing friend all went about their work; and so, when such an opportunity did present itself, Hisashi had determined to take hold of it with both hands.

Twisting and wrenching the ex-Yakuza's other arm free from its socket, Hisashi chuckled as the man bellowed and shrieked impotent threats and obscenities at him.

"I suppose you want to know why I singled you out, among all of the former Yakuza who might very well be haunting this place," he said, feeling a smirk pulling at his lips as he made his way over to stare down the man, who was now staring fearfully up at him. "You might not recall, but you invaded the home of one of my dear friends. Seven Strong, the woman whose home you invaded, the woman whose child you assaulted…" he paused for a moment, chuckling as he saw the look of confusion on the man's face. "Ah, it seems as though you haven't been paying attention. Does the name Seven Strong at least mean something to you?" Finally, it seemed as though something he'd said had gotten through to the man. "You might be aware that Seven Strong worked with Gran Torino during her efforts to bring your former organization to heel, but were you aware that there was another working with them? Someone who looked like this?"

The sensation of his flesh reshaping itself, as he pulled a shape-shifting Quirk from the greater whole of All For One – his hair growing longer, then turning a soft lavender as he pulled another Quirk from within All For One; features reforming to take on a more hawklike aspect – brought a smile to his face, even as the man at his feet writhed and squirmed in terror. He only began outright screaming when Hisashi pulled his Dragon's Breath Quirk from within All For One, unleashing a thick stream of flames from his mouth.
