Holly quietly slipped into Raven's room. Raven had had a cold for three days. Holly had sent gifts everyday; soups, cards, flowers. If her princess was sick, Holly would at least try to keep her comfortable. Today's gifts were a bouquet of white roses and a bowl of broccoli cheddar soup.

"How's my sweet girl?"

Raven groaned. Holly chuckled as she set fresh roses down with the older ones.

"Let's get some food in you." Holly sat down on the bed. Raven forced herself to sit up. Holly spooned small amounts of soup into her mouth. Raven grunted in appreciation. Raven had a very strong immune system and very rarely got sick, but when she did, she became a textbook zombie; lifeless, silent, and cold.

"How does a warm compress sound?" Holly asked. Another grunt.

"I'll take that as a go ahead."

Holly watched as warm water ran down her girlfriend's face, turning her pallid face slowly turning a soft red.

"Thanks" she croaked. Holly gasped. That was Raven's first real word in days.

"My sweet girl! You're healing!" Holly squealed.

Raven winced.

"Right. Too loud. Sorry" Holly said. "I'm just so happy for you."

"Bathroom" Raven muttered. Holly carefully helped her up and led her to the small bathroom. When Holly had her settled on the toilet, she turned around. When Raven flushed Holly helped her stand at the sink and washed Raven's hands for her. She then took Raven's clammy hand and escorted back to bed, tucking her up to her chin.

"I have to go" Holly whispered. "I'll visit you after class."

Raven could hear Holly's heels clicking as she walked out the door. Raven pulled her comforter closer to her chest and slept with the knowledge that she had the best girlfriend in the world.
