Prompt at the bottom in order not to spoil anything. Got it from /Tweakm on twitter, thank you so much Jo! Hope you enjoy this, all of you! Until next time, xxxxx
The small groan coming from the bathroom alarms Kate. They'd chased down a suspect yesterday and even though she'd tried to warn him he'd managed to hurt himself when tackling the suspect, and hearing that groan from the bathroom makes her mind immediately think he'd hurt himself worse than she thought. Maybe the shower had revealed some wound he hadn't known about. Without hesitation she jumps up from the bed, where she's been reading his latest novel for the past half hour, and goes straight for the bathroom.
"Castle? You okay?" she says as enters through the door.
She sees him standing in front of the mirror, his fingers in his hair, examining through it.
"Oh no," she says, scrunching up her nose as she gets an idea as to what he's looking for.
"I know right!" he exclaims with another groan as he sighs and puts his hands on the sink in an exhausted kind of way. "I can't believe I found one."
She shakes her head. "Well, with all the kids we have it's bound to happen eventually," she says with an accusing look.
"Hey! It's not like I was the only one participating in getting them," he smirks and she bites her lip.
"Still, I'll go get the shampoo so we can kill the bastards," she says and turns around only to stop in her tracks when he tries to smother a confused shriek coming out of his mouth.
"You can't… mean… I mean, you're joking right?" he questions and she turns to look at him with wide eyes.
"Why would I be joking? Oh come on Castle, you can't seriously claim you've grown attachments to them."
He looks completely stunned and she crosses her arms, giving him her look. "There's no way I'm letting you keep them, they're pests, not pets."
There's quiet for a couple seconds before he opens his mouth again. "What are you talking about? There's a shampoo that kills kids?"
She almost chokes on her swallow. "What? NO! I'm talking about the lice!"
"Lice?!" he shrieks before starting to look in the mirror again, checking his hair. "Do I have lice?"
"Wait, that's not what you were talking about?" she asks and he looks at her with shocked eyes.
"No, I'm talking about gray hair! I found gray hair," he tells her and she's quiet for a second before she bursts out laughing and it doesn't take long before he joins her.
She leans against the door frame. "God how stupid it can be," she laughs.
"Yeah," he says as they start to calm down. Then he gets that saddened glimpse in his eyes and she gives him a questioning look. "But I still found gray hair."
She smiles and shakes her head as she walks up to him, putting her hands around his neck. "You're getting old babe, happens to all of us," she teases and he grumps. "Hey," she pecks his lips. "What's the matter?"
She looks into his blue eyes as he tries to avoid looking straight into hers. All the while his hands land on the low of her back, pulling her closer. "I can't help but think…" he pauses.
"Oh no, what have we said about thinking," she teases, steps onto her toes to peck his lips again. "Rick, I love you but I can't help you unless you tell me what's wrong."
With a sigh he finally meets her eyes. "I'm old, and I can't help but fear that you will one day wake up and divorce me because I'm no longer what you want me to be."
Kate feels a sting to her heart. "I. Love. You. Rick. Castle. Nothing's ever going to change that. And I still love the way you make me feel, besides," she adds, tangling her fingers into his hair. "We will grow old together, if you promise to stay with me when I'm old and gray I promise to stay with you," she promises and his lips turn up in a smile.
"Promise," he vows.
"Now, with the kids having a sleepover with their big sister," she lets her fingers start massaging his scalp. "I can think of a few ways to spend our evening alone."
"Hmm," he hums with a smirk. "Like what?"
She leans in closer, as if to whisper something in his ear, only when her lips reach his ear she's nibs at his earlobe instead. She feels his hands go down to her ass and she giggles in his ear.
"You're still ruggedly handsome, babe," she whispers and he growls before his lips attach to her neck, kissing and nibbling and sucking and god, that feels amazing.
She moans and feels his excitement grow against her belly. When he squeezes her ass she doesn't hesitate to jump for him to put her on the counter by the mirror, their lips soon finding each other in a heated kiss. His hands roam her body, getting her clothes off as his touch both tickles and heats her up. It doesn't take her any effort to remove his towel from around his waist. When they connect their bodies they both gasp before they begin the love rhythm they've grown so used to, yet every time felt like the first.
It's not until late in the night when they lay wrapped in each other's arms that she opens her mouth to address his worries from earlier.
"You know," she says as she lets her fingers trace patterns on his naked chest. He hums. "You've got absolutely nothing to worry about, I hope you know that." She swallows as he meets her gaze.
He smiles that incredible and sincere smile he only reserves for his family members. "Yeah, you're pretty convincing," he adds with a tease and she laughs.
"You too, babe, you too," she winks and giggles when his fingers tremble down the side of her body.
"I love you Kate," he whispers into the night and she pecks his jaw.
"Yeah, I love you too," she smirks, "old man."
He grunts and pushes her onto her back, following with his own body pressed to hers. "Can an old man make you feel like this?" His fingers touch her most intimate part and she gasps. Thank god the kids aren't home.
