Epilogue

Agent BM: Thx

One Month Later

Honey opened her eyes one morning to the sound of a baby crying. She reached over to her nightstand, and put on her glasses. The clock read 7:30, but baby Sophie was clearly awake. The crying then woke up, Zeke.

"(Yawns), you want me to get it?" he offered.

"No, I've got it. You better get ready for work." Honey replied.

They both got out of bed, and while Zeke went to the bathroom, Honey went to Sophie's room. She opened the door, and walked into the nursery. She looked in the crib, and saw Sophie with her eyes opened, and was squirming around.

"Good morning, baby." she cooed at her daughter.

She carefully picked Sophie up, and cradled her. Sophie smiled at her mother, as she was set on the changing table. Honey changed her diaper, and then went downstairs with her.

"Morning, Honey." greeted Buzz.

"Hi, Sophie how are you." cooed Bumble to the baby.

Sophie just cooed back.

"How'd she sleep lat night?" asked Stinger.

"She slept for a good four hours last night." Honey told him.

When she got to the kitchen, she got out the things to make Sophie's bottle. Then Zeke came down, dressed for work, and went to help his wife.

"I'll take her, while you fix the bottle." he offered.

"Thanks."

Honey handed Sophie to him, and while he cradled and cooed her, Honey prepared the bottle.

"Okay, Sophie, time to eat."

She took the baby from Zeke, and put the bottle in her mouth. As Sophie sucked on the bottle, Zeke got his and Honey's breakfast ready.

"Here you go Honey, some nice eggs and toast." he said, placing the plate of food in front of her.

"Thanks, babe."

They ate together, and then they finished.

"I gotta get to garage now. But you give me a call if you need help, and I'll be back." Zeke told her.

"I'll be fine, Zeke." Honey assured.

He kissed her cheek, and then kissed little Sophie. Then he left the house. Sophie then began crying.

"Shh, Sophie. It's okay." Honey comforted.

She realized she must've had gas from the bottle, and so she grabbed a towel, put Sophie over her shoulder, and lightly patted her back. After Sophie burped, she took her back upstairs.

Honey put Sophie in her little portable seat, while she got cleaned up and dressed.

"There we go. Mommy's all dressed and ready for the day, now let's get you ready."

Honey picked Sophie up, and changed her into a yellow onesie. All day Honey took care of and gushed over little Sophie.

"You're a good mom, Honey." complimented Stinger.

"You really think I'm doing okay?"

"Of course, look how content Sophie is." Bumble replied.

It was true, Sophie wasn't fussy or anything in Honey's arms.

"Just precious." Buzz observed.

"Thanks guys."

Later that day, Candlehead, Minty, and a couple of the other ladies arrived to visit. They asked her how she was doing, and gushed over baby Sophie. They helped Honey around the house, and offered advice on how to take care of Sophie further down the road.

Then later on, she said goodbye to her friends, and put Sophie down in her crib for a nap, it was time for a little time to herself. She caught up on some bills, and watched TV with her bees. A few minutes later, Zeke came home early, with lunch.

They shared a little meal, then Sophie woke up.

"I'll get her." Zeke told her, and went upstairs.

Honey smiled, it felt good to have a husband willing to help her.

The rest of the day the two tended to Sophie. Feeding her, changing her, holding her, and cuddling her. Then after giving her a bath, they put her in her little crib. After dinner, they were both feeling tired, and decided to go to bed early.

"You coming?" Zeke asked, as he headed upstairs.

"I'll be up in a minute." Honey told him.

As Zeke went upstairs, Honey stepped outside. It was a beautiful night, the sky was clear, the moon was full, and the stars were out. Honey sighed contently. Her life was so much better now. Back in California she was stuck in a job she hated, a tiny apartment, no family, and her only friends were three bees.

But here in Oregon, she was the owner a store, had great friends, a wonderful husband, a beautiful baby daughter, and her bees were still her faithful friends.

"Moving here was the best thing I ever done." she told herself. And she went back inside to her family.
