Chapter 36

Brooke glared hard at her daughter. "Rosemary Davis. I am not going to stand here and just allow you to talk to and about Lucas this way! He has been a father figure to you since you were 10 years old. Apologize. He doesn't deserve to be treated this way. When all he's doing and has ever done is love you and protect you. This boy is a bad influence on you. We are in agreement on this matter. School and home until we decide you are allowed to do anything else." She proclaimed.

"You can't do that! I have cheerleading and other places to be. During the week and especially the weekend. This isn't fair!" Rosemary shouted.

"Then that means we're doing something right. You don't have to agree with this punishment but you will abide by it otherwise it'll be stricter. Afterschool clubs and hanging out with friends will happen again when we know we can trust you." Lucas replied.

"Lastly I need you're cellphone and laptop. We have a computer in the living room and printer use that for school assignments. You won't be calling anyone so a cellphone is useless." Brooke demanded.

Rosemary sighed deeply handing over her cellphone and laptop.

It was then that the couple left the bedroom.

Took their time going down the hallway and entering their bedroom. To unpack and get ready for bed.

...

Ryan and Kennedy entered Tric and went straight for a table in the back.

"You answered our post about Mitchell." Ryan stated.

" We didn't expect to get any responses. We were just venting. We thought he was a friend. When the reality is he just wanted access to our little sister." Kennedy admitted.

The teenage girl took a long sip from her drink.

"Has he ever brought up ex girlfriends.? Do the two of you know his history.?" She asked.

The brothers looked to each other. Then back at her.

"It's been brought up plenty of times." Ryan said.

" The both of us are just dating around nothing serious yet. But he never brings up exes or the past." Kennedy replied.

"I'm asking because I dated him for 6 months. And if i could go back. I wish we never met. He's someone that should be avoided." She stated strongly.

"What's you're name.?" Ryan asked.

"Astrid Stone." she replied.

"I'm Ryan Davis. And this is my brother Kennedy Davis." He introduced. Shaking her hand.

"I know of both of you. I'm 17. I go to Tree Hill high. We don't exactly hang out in the same social circles. Thanks for meeting me." She said.

"We appreciate you reaching out. I'll be in the car." Kennedy said.

Ryan watched his brother answer multiple texts. As he left the club.

There was no need to rush out there to meet him. Knowing Kennedy he was setting up a date with one of the girls he was dating at the moment.

"I've been to you're showings. At the gallery. You're photographs are incredible. Then again you're paintings are works of art." She commented.

"I knew that you're face looked familiar i just couldn't place it. Thanks for the support. I'm nowhere compared to a real artist. It's just a hobby." Ryan replied.

"Humble and hot. That is some combination you have going on. You don't take compliments well. Do you.?" She asked.

"I guess not. The spotlight is Kennedy's department. He's the star basketball player. The one all the girls fall over themselves for."

"I'm normally in the background. My face in my sketchpad or taking pictures. Basically invisible. Why am i telling you all of this." Ryan admitted.

"Because us in the background can always find each other." Astrid replied.

She handed him a bookmark with it flipped to the empty side except it wasn't empty.

"My cell number. In case you need a break from being on you're own." Astrid said.

Ryan tucked the bookmark into his jean pocket.

And looked back at her. "I should go. We took up so much of you're time." Ryan said.

"I wouldn't take it back. I'm glad i could help."

""You get tough like me and you don't get hurt." Astrid recited.

Ryan smiled shyly. "The Outsiders by s.e. hinton." Ryan replied. Turning from her as he left the club.
