Chapter 36
CALLIE'S P.O.V:
"So, what kind of wedding were you wanting.?" I hear Arizona shout from the other room. Ever since we got engaged on New Year's Eve, two weeks ago, she's been looking through wedding magazines. Which, I never thought she would because she didn't seem the type. But I guess I was wrong.
"I'm not sure. I haven't thought about it." I say, peaking my head around from the kitchen. "Besides I thought you said you wanted to wait?"
"I do. But it doesn't hurt to look through stuff, you know, to get some ideas." She tells me. She does have a point. A week after New Year's, as we were unpacking hers and Noah's stuff, she suggested we waited on setting a date. Which I was happy to agree to. We have only been together for a month and a half, so we didn't feel the need to rush into marriage right away. As long as it happened, I would marry her on whatever date we set. "Are you and Teddy going to hang out tomorrow?" I had to do what I could to take her nose out of the magazine. Which seemed to work, because when I turned around, she was standing in the kitchen with me, holding Noah.
"Yeah. We're meeting later. Apparently she has something she wants to tell me. I guess she had her yearly checkup a couple days ago and Drs. found something when they did blood work."
"Think she maybe pregnant?"
"I'm not sure. I guess I will find out tomorrow." After mentioning Teddy's Drs. Appointment, it got me thinking about Arizona's last one.
"When was your last one?" I asked, shuffling around the kitchen. She didn't answer me right away, which tells me, it's been a while. When she still doesn't reply, I turn myself to where I'm now facing her. "Well?"
"Back in October. I went in for my three week post partum checkup day before we went on our first date." She tells me. " I do have my twelve week check up coming up soon too."
"Maybe it wouldn't hurt to talk to them about birth control."I suggested, taking my chance of bringing it up. We have had a couple slips, but after her comment to Addison about not wanting another baby right now, I figured I'd suggest the idea to her.
"Why don't we just use condoms?" came her reply.
"We could, but they kind of cramp my style. Besides...," Moving my mouth close to her, I whisper in her ear, "I want to feel all of you." Her eyes went wide, never expecting me to say something like that. Watching her shiver at what I just said put a smile on my face. She turned her head to where our lips are barely touching, and whispers back,
"I want to feel all of you too, but we can't right now." I looked at her with a confused looked on my face. When she tilted her head, with a crooked grin on her face, that's when it clicked. Noah!
"Oh right! Noah is still awake." I say. The look in her eyes is telling me it's something else. But I can't seem to put a finger on it. I got to thinking a bit, then one other thing pops into my head, "You're not pregnant again are you?"
"NOOO! I'm on my period, Calliope."
"That's even better." I tell her, wagging my eyebrows, leaning in for a kiss.
"Ugh! Not a chance." She says, pushing my face away from hers.
"Why not? It's hot." She scrunched her face up in disgust.
"No it's not. Not when you're bleeding like a stuck pig." She tells me. "And how the hell did we go from having a conversation about Teddy, to this?"
"You brought it up." I say, teasing her. Technically I'm the one who brought up a whole new conversation, but it was funny watching her wiggle a bit.
"I did not!"
"Did too." I say, trying to get the last word in before placing a kiss on her beautiful pink lips. But apparently she wasn't having it, because she brought her hand up to stop me.
"You started this!" She says, as she leaned in to kiss me. Ok you win!
Arizona's P.O.V:
"So, Teddy Bear, what did you need to talk to me about?" I ask her. She and I decided to meet for breakfast instead since Callie had to work this morning. I didn't feel like being alone at the apartment, even though I had Noah with me.
"You know I really hate that name, Zo." She says, snapping at me.
"Well, aren't you a delight this morning." I tell her. She seemed a little cranky this morning, so something tells me, something is up. "Tim, keep you up all night?" I couldn't help but laugh.
"Oh, you're real cute." She pops off.
"Callie seems to think so too." I crack back. "But seriously, what's going on."
"I got my blood work back from the Dr. yesterday." Oh Boy!
"And?" I started to get a little worried just by the look on her face.
"I'm pregnant." She tells me. I nearly fall out of my seat after the words fall from her mouth. She's staring at me, waiting to see if I say anything. But I don't. She's kidding right "Umm..Earth to Arizona." she says, waving her hand past my face. When I was finally able to find the words, I was able to speak.
"You're kidding right? This isn't a joke? Like last time?" It's not that I didn't believe her, but she told me she was pregnant before, but she only did it to get my attention.
"Not kidding this time." She says, a smiling forming on her face. When she finally confirmed she wasn't lying, not being able to hold back the excitement, I I let out a squeal. I jumped out of my seat, nearly falling over. I ran over to the other side of the table and wrapped my arms around her.
"I'm going to be an Aunt." I say, squealing in her ear.
"Yeah, you are, but can you not squeal in my ear, please. You're going to make me go deaf." When I was finally able to get my excitement under control, I went to my chair. "So, when are you do?"
"I'm not sure. I have an appointment next week."
"Ah! Okay. Have you told Tim?"
"Not yet. I want to wait until after my first ultrasound."
"It all makes since now." I say, more to myself then her.
"What does?"
"Makes since on why you didn't drink on New Year's." I tell her. "You're pregnant."
"Oh, well I didn't drink that night because of what Callie had planned. With the proposal and all. I didn't drink because I was keeping Noah for you that night. My not drinking didn't have to do with possibly being pregnant."
"Wait..so you knew she was going to propose?" I ask. My own best friend knew my girlfriend, was going to actually propose.
"Everyone knew. Why you think I planned the party for at the house? It was last minute, but still. Callie called me after you guys got back from Miami, said she wanted to surprise you. She also told me she was going to ask you to move in with her." The remaining time we spent at the diner, Teddy and I talked more about the baby. I could tell she was really excited. Which was good. They deserved to be happy, after putting up with my attitude this past year.
*Kind of boring, I'm sorry. I'll try to make next chapter a lot better. But Do you think Callie and Arizona will wait to get married? I guess we will see. More to come. Enjoy*
