Stefan started at her name as if finally noticing her presence. He took a step backward, covering his bloody mouth with his equally bloody hand.

"Bonnie I-" but he couldn't finish, shame filling his face before with vampspeed, he fled.

Klaus, however didn't run.

"I know what it looks like," the Original began.

"Really? Do you?" she cut him off.

It looked like he'd broken her trust. Like he and Stefan had gone murdering people while she was left home alone asleep in bed.

"We just came here to talk. Stefan had a little mishap but I have it under control."

A little mishap? Was that what he called a blood soaked Ripper standing over a woman's body?

"You just came here to talk?" she repeated, her eyes burning with liquid emotion.

It wasn't enough to betray her trust but now he had the nerve to try to spin it? Did he forget that she knew him?

"Don't insult my intelligence!"

Bonnie started toward him and the still woman at his feet.

"Is she dead? Did you make Stefan kill her?"

Her mate kneeled to reveal the woman's bare throat. No blood. No bites.

"She's fine. Just fainted."

When she reached the grounded woman, Bonnie pushed Klaus away. He allowed it but didn't move far. Nearby he watched as she felt for a pulse.

"I told you she's alive."

"Like I can trust anything out of your mouth ever again!" she screamed.

He had the nerve to look hurt by that statement.

"I wouldn't lie to you Bonnie."

"No? Then what do you call this?" she gestured around them.

"You left me in bed so you could sneak out on a murder spree?! After everything you said about our family and our daughter and how you want her to be like me? You tell me those lies with a straight face and then you do this?!"

She wasn't sure if she was more furious or hurt. Had his words meant nothing earlier? Was it just sweet talk for the sake of his pregnant mate?

A tear managed to escape her eye and ran down her cheek. Klaus saw and immediately moved comfort her.

"I meant what I said, Love," he came closer.

"Every word of it. You and this baby are the best thing to happen to me."

But she didn't want his comfort. She didn't want his lies. She didn't want to be foolish enough to believe him again.

"Then why? Why would you do this? Why would you go out and deliberately do something you know is against everything I stand for? And for godsake why involve Stefan? He's tried so hard to change!"

That was a whole other tragedy. Who knew how long it would take to get him back this time? How long he would hate himself for whatever misdeeds his Ripper got into? How many more lives would be lost before his binge was over?

The Original opened his mouth but closed it before he could speak. Whatever he was going to say, was apparently not a good enough explanation. Bonnie watched him, waiting for one anyway. If there was anything he could say right now, anything that would give her an inkling of what he was thinking she wanted to hear it.

"Things just got out hand," he looked away.

"I got carried away...lost my head a bit."

His hands found his pockets.

"I didn't expect Damon and the whelp-" he quickly corrected himself-"Tyler to show up."

Tyler?

...Blood. Beer. A black wolf in distress...

"Tyler's here too?"

It was bad enough that Stefan was here and the car outside had alerted her to Damon but what reason would Klaus have to bring Tyler out?

"What did you do to him?"

Not giving him a chance to answer, she forgot the felled woman and rushed into the bar. The second she did her body ran cold.

Blood. There was so much blood. Just like the vision. Only worse. Because the vision hadn't included the severed head lying casually in the middle of the floor. Or the body at her feet with the gnawed up neck. She clasped both hands over her mouth.

Dear God...

"Bonnie?"

Her eyes followed his voice, finding Tyler on the opposite side of the room. He was coming to his feet, dusting himself off as he rose. The first thing she saw was the blood. Over his mouth, his neck, his arms...it was like he'd fallen into it.

"What did he do to you?"

Panicked she rushed him, instantly checking for any signs of injury. Was the blood his? Was he still bleeding?

Searching for wounds, she used her magic to tear his bloody shirt open.

"Whoa-Hey!"

With her hands, she conducted a brief examination of his torso, starting with his chest. Tyler stuttered as she moved downward to his ribs then abdomen next, touching, prodding, poking for any sensitivity or bruising. Though she found his skin to be burning hot (as a phasing wolf's would be) it was surprisingly devoid of injury.

"B-Bonnie what are you doing?"

His whole posture was stiff as a board. Clearly uncomfortable.

The low growl behind her was plenty reason why. She turned to find Klaus approaching from the doorway.

"Seriously? After what you've done?" she reprimanded.

The hybrid had the sense to keep silent after that. But he did sulk a bit. She turned back to her friend.

"Are you okay?"

Tyler swallowed.

"Yea. I just, uh got into a fight. The blood's not mine."

He glanced at the puddle behind her and shuddered. She knew not to ask whose it was.

"What are you doing here, with Damon and Klaus? And what the hell happened?"

He looked over at Klaus. Then back at her.

"Stefan happened."

She didn't get any further with her inquiry as whistling sounded from the back. The sloshing of water accompanied the tune as Damon Salvatore of all people made his way around the corner wheeling a bucket and mop. He paused when he spotted her.

"Bon Bon? Aren't you a little young for the bar scene?"

Her mouth dropped for reply but he went on his way, ringing the mop before starting on the floor.

Damon's cleaning up?

She immediately smelled something fishy.

"Compulsion," Bonnie realized.

Tyler concurred with a nod. Klaus ignored the vampire, opting to brood over her proximity to the younger wolf.

"Okay," she took a breath to still herself, "so Damon has the clean up covered. That leaves Stefan. We have to find him before he hurts anyone else."

Like these poor people here.

"I can track him but I have to warn you, Bon. He's pretty far gone," Tyler said.

"I saw him when..." he swallowed, paling at the memory.

It must have been pretty awful. She recalled the last time she'd witnessed Stefan slip. It was early in his and Elena's relationship, around the time of the Miss Mystic Falls pageant. They'd found him in the woods biting into a fellow contestant, Amber. If Bonnie hadn't been there, would Amber's head had been left severed in the woods?

"I'm pretty sure I can handle him," she reassured her friend.

Ripper or not, he couldn't be any stronger than a hormonal, hybrid Original. She just hoped she could do so before another innocent's death.

"You don't have to do that," Klaus objected, "Stefan is my responsibility. I can track him without incident."

Was he kidding?

"Aren't you the reason this happened in the first place? Isn't this what you wanted when you snuck out with him and didn't bother to tell me?" she snapped.

Now he was trying to play the good guy? The Original looked her square in the eye.

"I had my reasons to see Stefan, but I assure you, Bonnie, this wasn't the outcome I was aiming for."

"Oh yea? So you didn't want Stefan to become a Ripper again?"

He didn't answer right away, which in itself was an answer.

"You son of a bitch."

How could she have ever believed in him?

"There were things that he needed to remember," Klaus relented, "And he could only do so in his Ripper state. But I swear, nobody died until these two imbeciles showed up. Damon provoking me and the whelp here starting fights with the locals."

"Are you seriously blaming Damon and Tyler for this?"

A thousand years old and no accountability? Was this freaking kindergarten?

"I only wanted Stefan to remember. Had these two never showed up, I would have healed everyone he drank from. Which is what I was doing until Tweddle Dumb and Tweedle Dee interfered. That's the truth, Bonnie."

Just like at the house, those hybrid eyes were golden sincerity. And despite his betrayal that had brought her here in the first place, Bonnie found that she still wanted to believe in him. Perhaps it was the mating bond, perhaps it was the baby. Perhaps it was because despite everything she still loved him. Maybe he really hadn't meant for things to go this far. He was still phasing after all. His first heat phase which she'd heard was the worst. And with Tyler phasing too and Damon being an epic dick most of the time it was possible that her mate had "lost his head" a bit as he said. She'd seen him do that easily on the phone with Greta earlier. When she'd threatened Stefan.

"Hey, who the hell are you calling dumb?"

Speaking of a phasing Tyler...

"Mind your tone with me, pup lest I remind you exactly who the alpha is here."

Here we go again!

"Enough!" she screamed throwing her hands out toward both wolves, her magic shoving them both backward into a wall each.

Damon laughed out loud as he continued to mop.

"We don't have time for this petty arguing," she snapped.

"Stefan is out there and he could be killing someone as we speak. Tyler, he's too fast for you so stay here and help Damon.

"But I can take Stef-"

She glared his way, sure to send another volt of magic to shove him back into the wall. She had no patience for stubborn wolf egos right now.

"If the girl wakes up make sure she gets home safe."

She didn't wait for him to argue. Her eyes went to Damon.

"Before she leaves you compel her to forget everything she saw tonight. And don't hurt her or I swear to God you will be spending eternity with Greta and Esther. Got it?"

He gave a mock innocent look, still cleaning as he did so.

"And Klaus, you come with me. I don't have my tools for a locator spell so I'll need you to track him."

She took another breath, beyond frustrated at the moment. Guys could be such meatheads sometimes. Or werewolves could be...nevermind. She stalked out of the bar, feeling Klaus behind her. She didn't stop until she reached her car and was preparing to open the door when his hand closed it from behind her.

"Bonnie."

She spun on him.

"We need to find Stefan," she remarked.

"I know."

He was close again, close enough that his phasing heat was radiating. The last time he'd been this close they'd made love on her living room couch.

"Why would you do this?" she had to know. "What could have been so important for Stefan to remember? And why would he have to be a Ripper to remember it?"

He looked away.

"It was a long time ago. Stefan and I knew each other. But he didn't remember."

Bonnie blinked. Klaus and Stefan? So this was why Greta had targeted him. And why Klaus had reacted as he had. But how exactly had they known each other?

"We were...we were friends okay. It was during a more violent time in the both of our histories so there were things that we did that you wouldn't approve of. Things that maybe a Ripper would remember but not the Stefan you know today."

His eyes came back to her and she understood. They'd killed together.

"That's why I didn't tell you. Because I didn't want you to look at me like you did tonight when you first showed up. The way you looked at me in that bar a moment ago. Because I didn't want to lose you."

Damnit her eyes were stinging again.

"So instead you just lied to me and led my friend back to being that again? He's not just a killer, Klaus. He's an addict. People like you and-I hate to say even Damon-can have control over your thirst but Stefan? If he was your friend then you know how he gets. And yet you did it anyway. To him, to me, to the entire town. Did you really think that was okay?"

For his effort he did have the decency to look regretful.

"I won't lie to you. The only thing I thought about was that I wanted my old friend back."

His arms encased her, and though she wanted to, she didn't fight him. Despite her anger, she felt her body relaxing with his contact.

"That's supposed to make me feel better?" she tried to keep her same bite.

He felt so warm.

"You want me to be honest. So I'm being honest with you. But you have to be honest with yourself as well, Love."

And just what did he mean by that? She tilted her chin up at him ready to ask. But he didn't give her the chance.

"I've lived on human blood for a very long time. It's a part of what I am. For centuries humans have been food to me, and I can't change that. Nor can I erase my past behaviors. But you have to understand, everything that I've done, I've done for a purpose. I've done for survival. You have no idea the forces against me, conspiring and trying to end me all these years. Gaining power is how I've survived. And retaining it is how I'm able to stand here with you, right now unable to be killed. It might seem cruel to someone as kind and moral as you are, born in this modern era. But I did what I had to do. And I can't take any of it back."

Bonnie allowed his words to sink in, the first time he'd truly addressed the grievances of his past. The things both Esther and Grams had warned her about. Things that made him a monster. To him of course they made sense. They'd served his purpose. But it didn't make them any less horrific. Killing Jenna. Sacrificing Elena. Both to become the only hybrid in existence. Unable to be daggered like Elijah due to his wolf half and unable to be killed like any other wolf due to his vampire half. To the rest of the world it was cruelty, bloodthirst and savagery. But for Klaus it was survival.

With parents like his, it wasn't much of a wonder how he'd come out this way. From what she'd learned today in dealing with Esther...

"You had a terrible childhood," she noted and Klaus stiffened.

"The people who were supposed to protect you did the opposite. Your parents hurt you and they lied to you and then they turned you into a killer. But they can't hurt you any more. You're an immortal hybrid. And your mine. And we both saw today what I'll do to protect what's mine."

He seemed to appreciate the reminder, humming in approval at her claim.

"As you are mine, Love."

But she wasn't finished speaking. There was one thing she needed to make clear.

"That includes this baby inside me, Klaus. Our baby."

He opened his mouth but she shook her head.

"I had a vision tonight. That's what brought me here. I saw things that disturbed me. About you and our daughter."

He straightened.

"I would never hurt-"

"You'd turned her into a killer," she finished her thought.

"A killer like you, and Esther and Elijah. You were feeding her blood, Klaus. Now I know what you are, and I came to terms with that when I decided that we would be a family but I will not have our daughter turning into something that would tear out people's throats for sport! I will protect her, do you understand? From anything and everything that could bring her harm. Even if that's you."

He needed to know that she was serious. That just like he'd done what he had to for his survival, she'd do what she had to for their child's. She wasn't quite sure what that was at the moment, but she knew that she was willing. God forbid it should ever come to that. Her mate stared for a moment, eyes flashing gold. Clearly offended. They faced off, the distant sound of a truck or two passing from the freeway. Then his eyes flared and Klaus suddenly pulled her closer.

"You are so the perfect mother for my children," he breathed before taking her lips frantically.

She could already feel his hardness as he pressed her to the car hood. Wait, what just happened?!

"Klaus what-umph!"

His hands were all over her.

"The only thing sexier than my mate carrying my child is my mate protecting my child."

He was grinding into her body as his lips found her throat. Bonnie gasped as he hit her mating mark and her body began leak for him.

"Wait, now's not the time for-hnnnnghhhh!"

That wicked tongue of his was at it again! Making it's way down her collarbone until it came to her robe. Growling, he tore the material apart before continuing his course.

"Klaus!"

She slapped his shoulders, irritated at his recklessness and timing but...God did he feel good against her breast right now.

"Doooon't" she whined, quickly losing the battle to his touch.

His hand found her center, caressing her wetness through her panties.

"I'm going to keep you so full of my seed, Love," he growled.

"The next time I'll give you twins."

Bonnie sat up, ready to address the absurdity of his statement when his fingers slid under her panties. Her body arched into his touch as he fondled her swollen button.

"Not faaaaaaair!"

His mouth claimed her nipple, exposed to the night air. At that moment she knew she was done for. She could only manage another whine when he positioned himself. Her legs spread involuntarily at his presence. And when he was inside her, she forgot her objections, latching on to her thrusting mate.

Where she not overcome by his sudden ravaging she would have remembered that they were still outside. In a parking lot. Of a bar. With a vampire and a werewolf-each with supernatural hearing ability- only yards away inside said bar. But when Klaus's tongue was involved, when his hands touched her there it was all she could do to give in to the phasing hybrid. Like in the cave, in her car, in her home earlier, she was all his.

He could hear them. Just outside. Tyler stared out the window, his body at odds with his mind as he watched the couple going at it right on the hood of Bonnie's car. From this angle he could see her face, tilted back toward the building as her body arched upward. Absolute bliss on her wide opened mouth as she cried the most delicious moan he'd ever heard in his eighteen years. Confusion hit him as his groin came alive, twitching with her every sound.

She belongs to Klaus.

But his body seemed to feel much differently.

He could hear the Original's voice in his head. See his face as a reminder. And yet he still couldn't look away.

"Nice show huh?"

Damon just so happened to be mopping in the area near the doorway.

"Shut up."

The vampire smirked.

"That Bonnie. She's got a set of pipes."

He licked his lips, giving Tyler a look.

"Don't you think so?"

"She belongs to Klaus."

Damon chuckled.

"Your mouth says so but judging by the increase of that wolf piss stench I'd say your hormones don't agree."

Tyler glared.

"I already told you, Bonnie's just my friend."

"I'm sure she is. She was awfully friendly in the caves earlier right?"

The young wolf growled at his remarks, wanting to throttle him for it for the reminder.

"Fuck you, Damon!"

"I think you mean 'Fuck Bonnie' because we both know you want to."

He didn't have to listen to this shit. Snarling Tyler kicked over the nearest chair.

"Hey easy Mad Dog, I'm trying to clean up!"

He ignored the reprimand, frustration once again mounting. About his feelings, his urges, the fact that he could still hear the two of them outside right now fucking like hybrid bunnies for the world to see. All he could see was Klaus-he knew Bonnie belonged to him-but that didn't stop his heat from flaring when he heard her screams. He could smell her arousal, the sweetness of her sex. And though he knew he couldn't have her, he still needed something. Someone. Alive and warm and brimming with the essence of the Earth that so far only Bonnie had given off. The need was driving him insane.

Stefan had said it was a witch thing. That Bennetts in particular were potent. Well Bonnie was the only Bennett in town. And though he had feelings for Caroline, her undead status rendered her lacking in that department. Not that it would matter, she wasn't exactly receptive to him at the moment anyway.

I have to get out here.

Away from her scent. From her voice. From the conflicting urges that had him leaking precum through his pants as he stood.

I need to talk to Stefan. He was the only one who understood.

But Stefan was battling urges of his own right now.

He's the only one that tried to help me.

Tyler was growling again, hands gripping his hair as his heart threatened to pound through his chest.

Maybe he still can. If he can get off the blood. Maybe we can help each other.

It would be a welcome distraction from what was going on at the bar right now. And with everyone else preoccupied with screwing and cleaning, he was clearly the only person present in his right mind. He had to do something.

Breathing through his mouth, Tyler stormed out the back exit. Using his senses he sniffed for the lost vampire, shuddering at Bonnie's scent still in the air. He was able to catch Stefan's easily, the vampire reeked of blood after all, and quickly took off in that direction. He'd find the Ripper himself. And they'd have a little talk. Because he couldn't survive another two days like this.

Ripper or not, Stefan was going to help him figure this out!
