Alex slowly blinked her eyes open, frowning at finding everything still dark. 'What the hell woke me up?'. As she attempted to raise her arms, she froze at finding a leg. 'Great I'm a wolf again.' With a loud whimper she dropped her head back on the bed.
'You look stunning either way Alex.' Nathan mumbled from behind her. His arm coming over her, pulling her into his chest. His face burrowed into her fur. 'Sleep.'
Alex huffed, flipping over to face him. 'I can't. Not tired anymore.'
Nathan frowned. 'Well I have two-' He paused, making a face. 'Scratch that, one idea in how to tire you out.'
Alex perked up. 'How?' Watching him climb off the bed, her eyes widen at realizing he was completely naked. Thank god he couldn't see the blush on her right now. 'W-what are you doing?'
Nathan glanced at her, a twinkle of excitement in his eyes. "Come with me." Leading them back downstairs, he slid the back door open. Alex took in a deep breath of the forest, inhaling all it's familiar scents. From the pine trees, to the oak, to the creek running through it. It smelled like home. 'We are going for a run.'
Glancing over her shoulders, she found him standing on all four. He really was a stunning wolf. Alex trotted over to him nuzzling into his the fur of his chest. Nathan placed his head over the back of her neck holding her to him, never wanting to let go. Alex pulled back trotting pass him flicking her tail in his face, giving him a yelp before running off into the forest. Nathan gave out a loud howl before bolting after her. It took no effort to catch up to her, her scent was something he would never forget. Their colors becoming one as they ran together, a lot like a dance.
Alex wasn't sure when it happened, but at some point Nathan's pack appeared running just behind them. No one dared pass the couple. The critters making way as the rulers of the forest dashed through. Their pounding paws, sounding like thunder hitting the ground below. Their howls echoing throughout pass the trees and over the mountains. As Alex howled, the pack howled back.
Nathan slowed his pace, allowing her to take lead of the run. Running along side Ty, they both shared a look. Alex may have been born a beta, but she was always destined to lead a pack. As the pack continued to run, Nathan stopped. In that moment the pack had accepted her as their lead female.
Alex felt an overwhelming feeling inside her at realizing what was going on. She was leading the pack. They had accepted her as the alpha female. As a burst of excitement spread through her body, she howled deep and long. The pack howling with her, letting every wolf in the area know. Nathan appeared beside her once more with little Aaron hanging in his mouth. Alex chuckled, grabbing the pup and tossing him onto Nathan's back.
The sound of approaching wolves caused them all to come to stop. Nathan pulled his son off, placing him between him and Alex. Seeing the pup shiver of not knowing what was happening, Alex moved to stand over him. Every wolf growling, preparing themselves for whatever may come.
Alex lifted her nose up, catching the scent of Ziva? 'It's Eyal.'
Nathan frowned. 'How do you know?'
'He has Ziva's scent all over him.' Alex chuckled.
And right she was. Eyal and his pack broke from the tree line, stopping just a few feet away.
'Alex.' Eyal greeted.
'Hello.' Hearing the slight whimper below her, she nuzzled the pup hiding between her legs. 'It's alright, he won't hurt you. Eyal is a pack friend.'
The alpha wolf was surprised by her words. Quickly regaining his composure, he turned his attention to Nathan. 'Aaron and his pack are waiting by the creek.'
Nathan nodded. 'Sam?'
A young gray colored she-wolf trotted to the front. 'Yes?'
'Take Aaron back to the house and watch him.' Nathan no longer spoke in his gentle voice. 'The rest let's get moving.' Alex followed Nathan and Eyal. Nathan gave her a gesture to move up. 'Never walk behind me. Always by my side.'
As they continued to walk deeper into the woods, Alex glanced back only to see the amount of wolves. Both pack mashed together, creating a huge mass. She was even more shocked to find Hotchner and his small pack waiting for them. Well small compared to Eyal's and Nathan's. He had a total of 10 with him. The last time she had been with so many had been at the packs hunting run. This was different, everyone was on edge. Nathan nudged her, gesturing she follow him. Them, along with Hotchner and Eyal sat on the large tree truck working as a bridge for the river.
The packs focused their attention on the alphas. You had from the lightest to the darkest of colors. Eyes shining in the still night. Dawn should be breaking soon. Her eyes fell on a young wolf. His fur reminded her of Hotchner's, his eyes were a lot like Kate's. Was that Hotchner's kid?
'Most you know why we have called this meeting.' Eyal began, his eyes falling on Alex for a moment. 'But for those that do not know, let me explain. We have a pack coming here looking to take us out. Many of you know Damon.' Growls could be heard across the wolves. 'You know he is not to be underestimated. He will fight dirty and so will his pack.'
'Focus on the tree lines.' Hotch jumped in. 'Guaranteed he will have wolves waiting to ambush. Do not separate from the packs. Stay with each other. Damon waits for the packs to disperse to pick them off one by one.'
'His son will most likely be with him as well.' Nathan said. 'Like his father, he is strong and will not hesitate to rip into you. In his last fight he had his eyes damaged. Use that to your advantage.'
Alex heart began to pound against her chest. 'Elston?'
Nathan lowered his head, refusing to look at her. 'He has refused to give up.'
'Nathan, you can't kill him.' Alex had already caused the man enough damaged. She refused to see him get killed for this. 'Please.'
Glancing at Ty, he turned back to her. 'I promise you, I will not kill him.'
'Nathan.' Eyal called. 'We need to get the packs ready. Your honeymoon can wait till then.'
Nathan really hated having Eyal barking orders. 'Be there in a moment.' Feeling Alex nuzzling into his chest, he held her close. 'Not the best way of celebrating our union.'
Alex chuckled. 'Our packs are being threaten, we must stand strong. Defend what is ours.'
Nathan leaned closer to into her, nibbling her ear. 'I will be right back. Ty.'
'I got her.'
Alex walked over to Ty, taking a seat beside him. 'So how's the bullet? I never got to ask last time.'
'Small talk?' Ty teased. 'I thought you'd have something better to say.'
Alex glared at him. 'You know, you have a very punchable face.' Alex's ears twitched at hearing a growl. Before she had a chance to find the source, something solid slammed into her side. In an effort to grab onto to something, Alex bit the first thing she could grab onto. Both bodies tumbled into the dirt, rolling a few times. Not letting go of whatever attacked her, she bit down harder at seeing it was a multicolor she-wolf.
Having heard the commotion, Nathan had turned to rush and help, but stopped. As much as he wanted, he couldn't intervene.
'What is it?' Hotch asked.
Nathan lowered his head, growling lowly. 'Alex is being challenged by Jessica.'
Eyal tolled couldn't resist the eye roll. 'Could she have not picked a worse time to do that.'
Hotch stepped in between both of them, watching the fight. Or lack of really. 'Isn't Jessica your sister?'
'Half-sister!' Nathan snapped.
The rest of the wolves circled around the two females. Nathan's pack in the inside, blocking anyone from intervening the fight. They may be humans, but the smell of blood caused their instincts to react. If allowed they will attack the loosing wolf.
Alex fought back the howl as the wolf claws dug into her chest. In a quick movement she released her grip on the back of the neck, not letting her react, Alex grabbed her ahold of her throat. In an instant she felt the warm crimson taste of her blood flowing into her mouth. Her eyes shifting to bright red, biting harder into her throat.
Hotchner chuckled. 'Well there is no denying who the alpha female is.'
Nathan jumped down, the packs clearing way for him. Approaching Alex and Jessica, he circled around the females, standing beside his mate. 'Is there anyone else that would like to test their alpha!' His pack were quick to tuck in their tails and bare their necks. 'Any one tries a stunt like this again, I will personally tear them apart!'
Alex released the bloody wolf, taking a step back. She knew this could happen. But damn she was bold. Had their pack not stopped the others, Jessica would be torn apart. Two females came forward, pulling her away from the alphas. Alex could feel the blood dripping from her chest into the ground. Before she could do anything, Nathan leaned over. Licking the wounds gently, they slowly began to heal a bit faster.
'Thank you.'
'Never thank me Alex.' Giving her a quick check up he asked. 'Hurt anywhere else?' Alex shook her head. 'We are pretty much done here, how about I take you back home.'
Just as she was about to accept, she stopped herself. Where she wanted to go first was not going to be to his liking. 'Why don't you stay here, finish helping the pack. I will walk to Ziva's, it's not that far.' She stopped his argument. 'I need to get back to my team. Back to the routine as before, especially now. Plus I need some thinking time.'
Nathan groaned, he really didn't want to stay. 'Alright. I will check on you later.'
Giving him a quick nuzzle she took off into the woods. Before heading to Ziva's, she needed to make a quick detour. Arriving in record time, she peaked her head through the long grass. Her eyes finding him in an instant. Gibbs sat on his patio chair, drinking a beer, laid back. Alex chuckled, slowly walking out into view. Crouching down to the ground, she attempted stalking towards him.
"And where have you been?"
'How?!' She stood up, glaring towards him. He hadn't moved from his position. Hell he wasn't even looking at her! 'How?!'
Sitting up, he held his hand out to her. "You had us all worried Luna, including me."
Alex trotted into his arms, heading butting into his chest. 'I was never gone. If only you knew.'
Gibbs ruffled her chest mane, frowning at the blood sticking to his hand. "Why are you bleeding?"
'Not mine.'
Kneeling beside her, he sighed in relief at not finding any wounds. "Wonder who you disciplined now."
'Just some bitch.' Just then the door was open and large fur ball came rushing at her. Alex was quick to evade the fur missile. 'You're still here? I thought you were getting rid of him Gibbs!' Of course all he heard were whimpers and growls.
"Lisa put him inside please." Gibbs sighed, as he failed to catch the dog once more. "He is going to upset Luna."
"Then take her back to Ziva's." Lisa narrowed her eyes at the wolf. She could have sworn it was glaring at her.
Alex wanted nothing, but to bite that smug look on her face. But instead, she took a step back. Gibbs held onto the mutt, trying to get him to stay put. 'You are so lucky I am in this body now!' Giving Gibbs a quick bow of the head, she turned away from. That single turn was enough to shatter her from the inside. 'He has his mate.' She just kept repeating herself. 'He has his mate.' Forcing herself to not look back, she continued to walk away. 'Just keep walking Alex.' And as hard as it was, she did it. Not once did she look back. That was one of the hardest things she ever did.
