Epilogue

PowPow456: Well, I hope this chapter gets you excited for the sequel!

I'm not going to say too much on this author's note because I will be posting a final Author's Note in a few hours. I just want to say the winners of the poll were Rewritten and The Lost Children, so I'll be writing those soon. If you want to see what they wear to the party, go to my profile. Please review!

And as for what today is - it's the four month anniversary or Demigods at Ever After High! So, I hope you all enjoy this epilogue!

It had been two weeks since Amanda's friends found out the truth about her past, and the demigods remembered Cedric and Amanda.

It was odd to have everything change in one night, and then everyone acted as though it had never happened. The others wanted to tell the school what happened, but Amanda quickly told them not to. They didn't protest because they were all worried about her.

They were all also thinking about what Cedric had said. He kept mentioning someone called "the Mistress." But they never spoke about her or who she could be out loud. The one time someone brought her up, Amanda snapped and asked if they could just not talk about it, and that it was probably Cedric's insane babbling.

Amanda didn't act oddly. In fact, she acted exactly the same as before. She did seem a bit sadder and zoned out easily, but that was the extent of it. No one except her friends really noticed.

People got used to Cerise and Daring, and Raven and Dexter. The couples still got the occasional insult or odd look, but it wasn't as bad as before. Mainly because everyone found out the demigods supported them, and no one wanted to mess with a bunch of half-gods with sharp weapons and powers.

Darling and Apple were a huge surprise. They immediately started acting like a couple after what happened in the spell. No one really bullied them, because both of them came from important families - unlike Cerise and Raven.

Daring and Dexter were very supportive of their sister's relationship, and had to admit that she and Apple were a good fit. Apple was a gentle and sweet girl. Granted, she was a bit stuck-up at times before, but she had learned humility. Darling was regel but fierce and independant, and Apple picked up some stuff from her.

Nothing very eventful happened. The last day of school was fun - they all relaxed in their classes and the teachers made it as fun as possible. Maid Marian even (reluctantly, and they had a feeling Giles told her to do it) let Izzy show off some of her fighting skills. To everyone's surprise, when the Pied Piper asked Amanda to sing she hurriedly denied.

Before they knew it, it was the night of their last day, and time for the end-of-school party. Headmaster Grimm didn't know about it, but that didn't stop the teenagers from having a good time. They had the party in the enchanted forest, in a clearing that had some sort of force field around it so no one could see or hear what was inside. They didn't know how it came there, but they were in a world of fairy tales after all. If you thought about everything that didn't make sense there, you would go insane.

Amanda packed her things and put her bag by the bed, so she would be ready for tomorrow. She got dressed and looked down at the silver bracelet on her wrist. She was tempted to take it off, but knew people would notice if she did. But...

"Hey, you ready?" Izzy asked, giving her best friend a concerned look.

The daughter of Hades looked up and smiled. A fake smile. They came so easily to her.

"Yeah, just give me a moment."

After Izzy nodded and turned away, Amanda quickly unfasted the bracelet and shoved it into her bag.

"Okay, I'm ready," she said, turning to Izzy. She knew her friends were concerned about her. That they thought celebrating this close to her brother's death would be painful for her.

Just get through this, and then you can go back home, she told herself as she and Izzy walked out to meet their friends.

When the demigods arrived at the party, it was already in full swing. Cerise was chasing someone who had stolen her turkey leg while Daring tried to stop her, Raven was using her magic to do things like make the chairs dance while Dexter and Maddie watched, Briar and Hopper were dancing, and Apple and Darling were getting some punch. When the two girls saw the demigods, they ran over.

"So, what do you think?" Apple asked enthusiastically. "It's pretty cool, huh?"

Indeed it was. The whole area was flooded with rainbow light coming from a disco ball on a tree. There were tables with party food all over them - like cupcakes and chips and soda. Streamers and lanterns hung from trees. Melody had her portable DJ booth and was blasting music for the dancers. There were a few chairs in case you wanted to sit around the edges.

"Yeah," Kyle said. "It is."

A song started playing and Darling turned to Apple with a grin.

"I love this one! Shall we?"

"We shall," Apple said. Instead of hooking her arm through Darling's, she grabbed her girlfriend's hand and dragged her onto the dance floor.

The demigods all laughed at her enthusiasm.

They started to spread out, doing their own things and talking to their friends. Eve got Jacob to dance with her, Kyle and Zoe were trying out all the cupcakes, and Alex, Michel, and Izzy were arguing over the best battle tactic. No one noticed when Amanda slipped away.

The demigod walked through the forest, trying not to tear her dress on anything. Zoe had insisted she wore it because it matched her eyes, but Amanda thought the lace was just inconvenient.

She arrived at the lake and sat at the edge, looking into the water. As much as she wanted to see herself - Amanda - she couldn't. She just saw the girl who had killed her brother.

As the daughter of Hades looked into the water, she could have sworn that her dark blue eyes turned black and glowed for a moment. As she looked into the water, leaning forward a bit, they glowed even bright black. Shadows spread from them and it looked like they were about to seep into her skin when-

"Amanda?"

Amanda looked up, the spell breaking and the shadows dissolving. She saw Zoe and forced a smile.

"Hey, Zo," she said casually, trying to ignore her fast heartbeat.

"What's up? Alex is looking for you," Zoe said.

"I just needed some alone time," Amanda said simply. "I'll be there in a moment, okay? What about you? Are you planning on dancing with anyone tonight?"

Zoe laughed. "Definitely not. I'll see you soon!"

Amanda nodded, and watched as her friend left, grinning at her. Amanda smiled to herself. It was a bit amusing that the daughter of Aphrodite didn't have a boyfriend yet.

Her smile faded as she turned back to the water. She dipped her hand in it and felt almost as though something was pulling her down.

But she ignored it and stood up, heading back to the party and trying to forget about what had just happened.

A figure watched the scene unfold in a magic screen of mist. Their face was hidden by shadows, but short brown hair was visible.

"Thank you, Elise," they said, and the screen disappeared. The person turned and walked up to a pedestal. It was empty, almost as though something was missing.

"You may have been lucky this time, daughter of Hades, but soon you will join me," they whispered, fingering the indent of four roses on the side of the pedestal. "And when you do I'll finally have the power to first overthrow Olympus...and the whole world."

The End...

Is Just The Beginning
