Survivor Series: 27/11/2005
WWE Survivor Series was live at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan. The first pay-per-view match was Booker T (accompanied by Sharmell) against Chris Benoit in the first match of their "Best of 7 series" for the vacant WWE United States Championship. The match started with Booker T exiting the ring when Benoit gained a slight advantage. The match went back and forth for the first half before Booker took control. The match saw interference by Sharmell, distracting Benoit, who was on the top ropes. After Benoit missed a diving headbutt, Booker T pinned Benoit, using the ropes for leverage, to win the match and take a 1–0 lead in the series.
In the following match, Trish Stratus (accompanied by Mickie James) defended her WWE Women's Championship against Melina (accompanied by Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro). Stratus immediately took control until Melina fought back. When Nitro and Mercury interfered, the referee ejected them from ringside. Melina kept control until Stratus fought back with forearm shots. Stratus pinned Melina after a diving bulldog to retain the title.
Next, Triple H faced Ric Flair in a Last Man Standing match. Flair was still on his way to the ring, when Triple H attacked him and gained the early advantage. After attacking Flair's head with a screwdriver, Triple H continued using foreign objects throughout the match, including a folding chair, a sledgehammer, and the steel steps. The match went back and forth between Triple H and Flair. Triple H attempted a Pedigree through a broadcast table but Flair countered the move into a back body drop through another broadcast table. Triple H later performed three Pedigrees on Flair but Flair got up each time. Triple H then hit Flair in the back with a sledgehammer, and Flair did not stand by the referee's ten count, giving Triple H the win.
After the match, Edge and Lita came to the ring, and Edge announced that he would be hosting a new show on Raw entitled "The Cutting Edge". Edge noted that Dmitri Young was in the audience, and proceeded to criticize the sports teams of Detroit. Young replied by insulting Edge and his lack of a world championship.
In the fourth match, John Cena defended the WWE Championship against Kurt Angle, with Daivari as the special guest referee. Early in the match, Angle was able to apply the Ankle lock on Cena. Cena reached the ropes but Daivari kicked his hand off. An angered Cena slapped Daivari, who tried to disqualify him as a result. Angle, however, stopped him, and both men were knocked out of the ring by Cena. As Daivari was knocked down outside, a Raw referee came out to officiate. After Cena gained the advantage, Angle knocked down the referee, and executed an illegal low blow.
Angle called for another referee, but failed to get the win after executing an Angle Slam and a superplex. After Angle missed a moonsault, Cena went for an FU but Angle countered by holding onto the referee, which led to Angle knocking down the referee. As the other referee was knocked out, SmackDown referee Charles Robinson came out. Cena then delivered a DDT to Daivari and executed an FU on Angle, pinning him to retain the title.
In the fifth match, Raw General Manager Eric Bischoff faced SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long (with Palmer Canon). Two referees from each show officiated the match. Theodore Long, began by avoiding Eric's attacks. As Canon climbed on the apron, and distracted the referees, Bischoff used his obi to choke Long. Bischoff continued choking Long and applied the sleeper hold. Cannon distracted the referees again as Long hit Bischoff with his shoe. The Boogeyman's music played with Bischoff sending the referees up the ramp to stop him. The Boogeyman delivered a pumphandle slam to Bischoff and Long pinned Bischoff to win the match.
Next up was the RAW vs SmackDown 5-on-5 Elimination tag team match.
The Main Event had arrived, it was SmackDown vs RAW. Team SmackDown made their entrances seperate and now Team RAW started making theirs with Shawn Michaels coming out first, followed by Carlito, then Chris Masters, then Kane and...
OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!
'Oh, ah, ah, ah, ah! Get up, come on get down with the sickness!'
Down with the Sickness plays to a loud pop and out comes the Bladewolf with his coat and metallic mask on, his World Tag Team Title on his right shoulder. He heads down towards the ring and joins his team where they stand, handing his title to somebody at ringside then takes his metallic mask off, revealing the demonic wolf mask underneath, then takes his coat off afterwards.
His theme dies down as Team RAW stares team SmackDown down.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
Shawn Michaels and Randy Orton start off for their teams. They lock up and Orton backed Michaels to the corner and broke clean. They locked up again and again Orton got Michaels in the corner and then slapped Michaels across the face. Michaels slapped Orton back and they locked up again and traded some reversals and Michaels slapped Orton yet again.
Michaels chopped away at Orton in the corner and then Orton sent Michaels to the opposite corner and charged in but ate boot. Orton came back with a kick to the face and an uppercut for two.
Orton missed a knee drop and then tagged in Masters who continued to work the arm. Orton raked the eyes and then clubbed the back and gave him a knee lift. Masters sent Orton face first to the corner and then delivered some chops and sent him to the ropes and knocked him down with a shoulder block and covered but JBL broke the fall. Orton clubbed the back of Masters and then tagged in Lashley.
Masters went for a shoulder block but Lashley didn't budge, and then nailed a scoop slam. Lashley sent him to the corner but missed a splash. Masters went for the Masterlock but couldn't get it on as Lashley powered out and hit a belly to belly throw and Masters tagged in Carlito.
Lashley slingshotted Carlito into the ring and then nailed him with a right hand, but Lashley dropped him with a pair of clotheslines and then hit a running powerslam for two. Lashley sent Carlito to the corner and charged in but Carlito nailed an elbow and tagged in Michaels.
Michaels went up top but Lashley tossed him down and hit a slam and then a belly to belly throw. Carlito then came in and Lashley...GAVE HIM THE DOMINATOR!
Lashley then went for it on Michaels but Kane grabbed him by the throat and...HITS A CHOKESLAM FROM THE RING APRON! MICHAELS HOOKS THE LEGS! ONE! TWO! THREE! BOBBY LASHLEY HAS BEEN ELIMINATED!
Mysterio came in and took over on Michaels but then Kane hit a knee to the back. Michaels tagged in Masters who dropped a series of elbows on the back of Mysterio and then hammered away with right hands. Masters gave Mysterio a press slam and then made the tag to Kane.
Kane missed an elbow drop and then ate a dropkick to the face followed by a sliding legdrop and standing moonsault for two. Kane then came back with a big boot and rammed him into the corner and gave him some shots to the back. Kane nailed a backbreaker and covered for two.
Kane rammed Mysterio into the corner again and then locked in a bearhug. Mysterio fought out and tagged in Batista!
Batista unloaded with right hands and shoulders in the corner. Batista sent Kane to the corner and hit a clothesline, and went for another but Kane got an elbow up and then went after the ribs. Batista came back with a spear and then Michaels came in and ate a clothesline, as did Carlito and Masters was thrown outside. Bladewolf came in and Batista nailed him in the crotch.
Mysterio runs...AND HITS THE 616 ON KANE! Kane stumbles back and Batista lifts him up...AND NAILS A SPINEBUSTER! HE HOOKS THE LEG! ONE! TWO! THREE! KANE IS ELIMINATED!
Bladewolf waits until Batista gets to his feet and turns around...INTO A GOOZLE! Bladewolf lifts Batista up...AND PLANTS HIM WITH A CHOKESLAM! HE HOOKS THE LEGS! ONE! TWO! THRE-! BATISTA KICKS OUT!
Kane sits up as Bladewolf gets to his feet then knocks JBL and Orton off the ring apron before he and Kane grab Batista by the throat, lift him up...AND PLANT HIM WITH A DOUBLE CHOKESLAM! BLADEWOLF GOES FOR THE PIN! ONE! TWO! THREE! BATISTA IS ELIMINATED!
JBL comes in, rebounds off the ropes...BUT BLADEWOLF CAUGHT HIM BY THE THROAT! JBL kicks Bladewolf in the stomach, hits a right, then a chop but Bladewolf fires back with a fury of rights of his own then clotheslines JBL. Bladewolf sees Orton coming at him but clotheslines the young superstar then looks up to see Mysterio leaping at him...BUT CATCHES HIM BY THE THROAT!
Bladewolf lifts Mysterio up...WHEN JBL HITS THE CLOTHESLINE FROM HELL! JBL's eyes widened when Bladewolf sat right up right away so he tags Mysterio in. Mysterio dropkicks Bladewolf in the back, sending him into the ropes, runs...AND NAILS 619! Mysterio tags in Orton who comes in and goes for the RKO but Bladewolf caught him by the throat. Bladewolf shakes his head at Orton before he lifts Orton up...AND HITS A CHOKESLA-! ORTON HITS AN RKO OUT OF NOWHERE!
Just like at WrestleMania 21 in his match with the Undertaker, Orton countered the Chokeslam into a RKO!
Orton tags in JBL as Bladewolf slowly sits up, wobbling a little before he flips his hair back, stands up tall and turns around...INTO A SECOND CLOTHESLINE FROM HELL BY JBL!
JBL's eyes widened when Bladewolf was still moving so he tags in Mysterio who leaps...AND HITS A SEATED SENTON! HE HOOKS THE LEGS! ONE! TWO! THREE! MYTERIO PINS THE BLADEWOLF! THE BLADEWOLF HAS BEEN ELIMINATED!
Bladewolf rolls out the ring as the rest of the match went on and he heads to the back. Unfortunately, RAW would go on to loose the match, giving Bladewolf his first ever loss in a match at Survivor Series...
Despite being pinned at the 2001 Survivor Series, Bladewolf's team did go on to win the match, so it was still a victory for him. He was 5-0 at this event, but is now 5-1 at Survivor Series. I figured he should at least be undefeated at other events aside from WrestleMania.
