I sat in my office, well the Room of Requirement waiting for my next appointment. On the top of my list sat the names Pansy Parkinson and Draco Malfoy. This was gonna be a rough one.
Pansy had approached me with the idea of making the appointment and lets just say I would have had better things to do than help this problematic duo through couples therapy. I couldn't even call them a real couple because they really weren't. Only in Pansy Parkinson's delusional mind.
I glanced at my watch which had never been able to tell time so I honestly have no idea why I glanced at it. The time read 1:12 am which it was somewhere in the afternoon. Maybe around 12:30 pm.
Finally the door swung open revealing a disgruntled Pansy and an oddly nonchalant Draco Malfoy who strut through like nothing was wrong with there on and off relationship. Everyone knew that Draco Malfoy was the opposite of committed and even more opposed of the idea of having a real relationship.
"Sorry we're late" Pansy ran toward me taking a seat on the sofa that the room had conjured for me. "Drakey didn't want to come."
"I still don't understand why we're here Pansy" the gruff voice of Draco Malfoy said standing next to a chair, but not sitting on it.
"We're here because we need help" the shrill voice of Pansy screeched.
"Help with what exactly?" Draco asked motioning to sit down on the opposite side of the couch from Pansy.
"Help with our relationship" she shrieked in her very ear piercing voice.
"We've been over this Parkinson" he sighed rolling his eyes. "We're not in a relationship. It's merely sex." I hid my urge to gag.
"No!" she yelled. "We are here to because you have been cheating on me" she accused.
I looked down to my clipboard where many things have been scrawled in my small penmanship. I dipped my quill in more ink to continue to write about the many things that were going wrong in this relationship.
"I'm confused are you in a relationship or not?" I asked making their attention turn to me like they had forgotten I was in the room.
"Yes" Pansy said while Draco said "No."
"We aren't going to get anywhere with this" I slapped my forehead. "Please stop yelling and tell me what's been going on?"
Pansy huffed turning her attention from glaring at Draco to me. "He has been cheating on me with that Greengrass girl." Her eyes fixated on Draco as she tried her most intimidating glare, but he merely shrugged as if everything was fine.
"Daphne?" I asked.
"No Astoria" he answered for Pansy which made her fume more and her jaw clench more than it already was.
"Okay, and what do you have to say about these claims?" I asked Draco. I had to flip over my parchment to the other side to continue writing down the obvious struggles in their weird relationship.
He shrugged. "It's not cheating if you were never together."
"We are together" she seethed crossing her arms and trying to keep her cool, but it clearly wasn't working.
"No we're not" Draco dismissed. "I don't do girlfriends" he said as if the word was disgusting. As if he was appalled to the idea of actually having a relationship with a girl he loved or at least liked. It was clear this was not what was happening between the two.
"So your not together?" I asked because honestly now I was so confused.
"No we are not" he calmly said. "We're not together and we don't need this bullshit so I will be leaving."
He got up from the chair to make his way out, grabbing a cookie from the tin I had on the table in front of us, but now before meeting my eye and giving me a subtle wink. He sauntered his way out like he had just won the lottery. Maybe getting Pansy out of the way was better than winning the lottery.
"You can't just leave" Pansy yelled storming after Draco who had left the room only seconds ago.
I shook my head in disbelief on how their relationship was like this.
I mean how could anyone want to get themselves involved with Draco Malfoy. Sure he was handsome, devilishly handsome, but he was a player. He only used girls for sex and then broke their hearts. Why would one want to be involved with such an areshole with no respect for women?
Everyone knew him for his reputation and the fact that he had become some type of hero during the war for helping out Harry Potter. This just made girls want him more and he wasn't complaining.
Pansy stomped back into the Room of Requirement breathing heavily, fuming. Her fists were clutched so tightly that they were starting to turn white. Her nails were almost drawing blood from her ivory skin.
"We will be rescheduling" she said through her teeth.
"Pansy have you ever considered someone else beside Draco Malfoy?" I asked knowing the answer to this question.
"Well..." she though about it for a second. "No."
"Maybe you should. It's clear that he doesn't want to be in a relationship so maybe you should try to move on" I tried to reason with her.
"But- But Drakey's so perfect. He's perfect for me" she slumped onto the couch, laying horizontally.
"Well he's clearly not perfect since he's involved with other girls" I side noted. Pansy heard me loud and clear, but didn't make a comment.
"Why are you so hung up on him?" I asked her. Honestly, I was curious what had even started this whole infatuation. Everyone in school knew that Pansy was obsessed with Draco Malfoy far before the war had started.
"Because" she gritted her teeth. "I am in love with him."
"That's not really a valid answer, but okay. He's made it abundantly clear that he doesn't want to be in a relationship with anyone, not just you. So why don't you try to move on to someone else?" Honestly the idea of Pansy with someone else was baffling, but what she needed.
"I-I don't know if I'm ready for that" she whimpered.
"Why don't we focus on getting the intoxications of Draco Malfoy out of your system and then we can focus on getting you with someone else" I said hoping, no praying that she would listen to me.
"You know what" she said standing up. Her eyes were a bit pink from the tears that had been running down her cheeks and her nose was runny. "I am going to get over him" she said determined, a foreign fire blazing in her eyes.
"That's the spirit" I cheered. "There's a party coming up, maybe you could go there and mingle a little bit" I suggested.
"Yes! and then I can make Drakey jealous" she shrieked, cheering and clapping.
"N-No Pansy, your supposed to be trying to end this life long obsession" I shook my head in disbelief. I though we were getting somewhere for a second.
"I am not obsessed" she crossed her arms with a stone cold expression on her face.
"Sure you aren't Pansy" I tapped her on the shoulder shaking my head. "Sure you aren't."
"Oh oh! I have the perfect dress to wear" she squealed excitedly like a child on Christmas.
"No Pansy your not getting the point of this" I shook my head again. My head was starting to hurt with all the shaking.
"I have the perfect outfit for me" she clapped happily. "You're coming with me, right?" she asked hopingly.
"No- what Pansy- no" I sputtered.
"But you have to come with me" she begged tugging at my arm like she was drunk, but honestly I think she was just high on the scent of Draco Malfoy's cologne.
"Your coming with me and that's final" she commanded.
"We're not even friends" I raised my voice a little trying to reason.
"No matter" she shook her head. "You will come with me whether you like it or not and Drakey will wish that he had never said those things to me."
"Is there anyway I can get out of this?" I asked in a dull tone.
"Nope."
"Fine" I said through my teeth.
"I'll be waiting outside Ravenclaw tower for you so you better come" she sang skipping her way outside the Room of Requirement.
What did I get myself into?
I didn't want to go to some dingy party in Slytherin, though I knew that Slytherin had good parties. You could say I was a bit boring, but can you blame me for not wanting to go to a drama hotspot filled with people that all come to me when they need therapy.
It would just mess up my non-prejudice when it came to helping couples, or a group of people, or just one person.
But now I had to go with and I doubt she even knew my real name. Well I doubt a lot of people knew my real name, they all knew me as 'therapist girl' or 'girl who helps me with my problems.'
