Gazing up to the heavens, Elena lent up against the tree behind her and observed the stars as if they held the answers that sought.
"Elena are you really okay?" She heard her best friend Caroline ask.
However, she didn't respond at all, instead, she continued to start heavenwards. It wasn't because she was trying to be inconsiderate, she simply didn't know if she was okay. However, she knew she had to be.
"Elena, what happened that night?" Caroline quietly asked, but again Elena didn't answer, only this time, she slowly looked towards her.
She didn't know what to tell her friend, she couldn't find the words to relay to her or maybe she just didn't want to talk about it.
As if sensing her emotions Caroline spoke again. "It's okay Elena you don't need to tell me." Elena saw the sad smile on her face much to Elena dismay. "I'm here for you when you're ready."
"Thank you." Elena replied quietly before returning to the stars.
"Do you think they will turn up?" Caroline asked.
"Honestly?" Elena replied. "I generally don't know, maybe not after all as far as I remember Klaus doesn't like to be told what to do?"
"Unless it's to help my daughter." Elena and Caroline snapped their head in the direction of the voice, to see Klaus and his family.
How did they not hear them approach?
"Why did you want us here?" Marcel questioned.
Elena didn't say a word still not happy about this situation, instead, she looked back at Caroline who was playing with the metal object in her hand. Elena observed as Caroline looked from the metal object to the original family then back again.
After a long moment, she met Elena's eyes and only Elena could do was nod in support though somberly.
"We were told to give you this." Caroline said throwing it, Klaus's direction who grabbed it with no problem.
"It can't be." Elena heard Rebeckah gasp, yet she continued to look away from that family.
"She told us, to tell you that in order, to help your family you must summon them." Caroline continued as if she had not been interrupted.
"Why?" Klaus asked. "Why were you asked to do this task."
"Because to get what we want we had to do what she asked." Caroline snapped, Elena honestly didn't know if she was insane or not considering who was talking to.
"And what's that love?"
"Not your concern," Caroline replied simply. "Though I suggest you summon her in order, to save your family."
Elena waited for the threats that were surely going to come yet none did, causing to turn to see Klaus and Caroline looking at each other intently. A standoff almost.
"Are you sure this will work?" Klaus asked, which took Elena by surprise, even more, she was sure he would be strangling Caroline or her by now yet he did and his family was staying quiet as well much to her amazement.
Instead, they were looking between Caroline and her, though there was no malice which was not comforting at all.
"We are hoping so," Caroline answered sincerely. "all we were told was to come and get you all in order, to help your family."
"And yes we do know if anything happens to your family are heads will be removed from our bodies." Elena chipped in. "can we get on with this so we don't have to see you lot anymore?"
Again Caroline looked at her sadly, as she moved to her side.
"You heard Elena, let's get on with it."
Elena didn't know if she was dead or in another reality, considering none of the originals made an attempt, on her or Carolines life instead they gave them weird looks as they got into position, that Feyra and Divina told them to stay in for the spell.
As the spell began, every single one of them except Davina and Freya stayed quiet all still eyeing her and Caroline which she could only assume they were debating how they would kill them if the spell didn't work however what she couldn't comprehend was why Hope was looking at them also.
Who was she kidding maybe she was exactly like her father?
She didn't know know how long had passed when a sudden circle of fire encompassed them. Making sure no one could get in or out.
Elena immediately looked towards Caroline at this not hiding how she felt about any of this. It wasn't long until another circle fire emerged in the centre in case three figures.
"You!" An enraged Klaus growled.
"Niklaus..." One of three women spoke.
"I will not listen to your lies." Elena could see he wanted to leave but the barrier that the fore created wouldn't let him.
"Please we just want to help"
"You went after my daughter," Klaus shouted with so much emotion that Elena had never seen before. "Your own, flesh and blood yet now you want to help."
"I was wrong."
"Oh, it must be a cold day in hell." Klaus mocked.
"Please Niklaus listen." Esther pleaded.
"All the word that could from your lips are lies."
"Kneeklaus, just listen, to her out," Elijah said, causing Klaus to shoot a look at him. "She would not have sent them." Eyeing both Elena and Caroline as he spoke. "To come and get us if not for a reason."
"Like to kill us." Klaus counted.
"You forget brother we have three powerful witches here as well," Elijah answered. "I have no doubt they have done a counterspell of anything goes wrong."
"Fine." Klaus hissed turning back to three dead witches. "Talk."
"Firstly," A beautiful mocha coloured woman turned to her and Caroline. "I would like to thank you for delivering my message, I know it must have been hard for you." Neither said a word. "Secondly I give you both my word once this is done I will tell you what I know."
With that, she turned to the originals family who looked confused.
"To save your daughter, Hope, it will come at a cost."
"I knew it." Klaus growled.
"No, you don't," Esther stated, as looked sorrowfully at her son. "I know I have never given you a reason to trust me but please listen."
"Klaus it is true that when your mother created you she upset the balance." The woman spoke again. "However through the centuries, a new balance was established." As the word left her mouth she looked at all the originals. "However that balance has been compromised."
"What does that mean?" Rebekah asked.
"In order, for that balance to return the sire lines must be reconnected, including you Marcel." The woman said.
"That's impossible Ayana." Rebekah counted.
"No, it's not." The woman Ayana answered. "However are you all willing to do this to have your family member." Her eyes fell on Rebekah as she spoke. "This means staying as a vampire for all eternity." Then she glanced over to the two witches. "Freya, Davina you must give something to."
Elena now thought this woman was absolutely crazy.
"In order, to keep the balance you must keep order within the family and in order, to do that your lives will be bounded to theirs." Ayana continued while Caroline and Elena look on with disbelieve. "Finn is also willing to play his part even if that means coming back as a vampire." She then looked back at Rebekah. "However for this to happen, you must be also willing to carry and care for the doppelganger."
"WHAT."
