"Feel better?" Seth inquired as he lay a plate with a breakfast taco and a small cluster of grapes on the table. "Coffee's over there. I couldn't remember how you take it."

Leah nodded her thanks and grabbed a mug before pouring a large dose of liquid energy.

"Shower felt good," she agreed.

"Amazing what a little hot water can do. It can make a potato soft and an egg hard."

She looked at her brother, one eyebrow cocked, in confusion.

"Sorry. This guy at my yoga class likes to leave each session with some pithy statement."

"You're taking yoga?"

"Yeah. It helps me find my center. Keeps me focused." Seth paused before motioning to his stack of textbooks. "I don't get as frustrated trying to read. My dyslexia feels much more manageable. And I can keep my schedules straight. Don't tell the others. They wouldn't understand. There's a lot of closed minds back home."

Leah felt as though she could understand. The looks she received after Emily and Sam made their relationship public. The whispers. As if it were somehow her fault Sam had not imprinted on her. As if she could have done a damn thing about it. A ragged sigh escaped her lips as her breathing caught in a flood of memories.

Seth loudly threw a few things into a satchel, bringing her back to the present. Leah nodded, re-centering her thoughts and emotions, before tackling the breakfast he had fixed her. She hummed in appreciation as the eggs, salsa, cheese, and crema flavors burst in her mouth. Seth definitely had become a better cook since he had moved out of the homestead.

"So, what do you have lined up, oh wise one?" Leah asked before taking a healthy swig of hot coffee, relishing the warmth as it trailed down inside of her.

"I'm going to take you on a tour of my world. Hopefully, I can convince you to stay here more permanently."

"Seth, I don't want to be a burden to you. Or your social life."

She knew he was young and good-looking and needed to experience the world without his mopey big sister around.

"First, you know you're welcome to stay here as long as you want, Leah. I have kind of missed a face like mine." Seth put down his cup of coffee and leaned back against the countertop. "Don't get me wrong. I love it here, but this is a completely different world."

"Well, it isn't the reservation so…"

"No. There are some things here I thought were just stories."

She looked at him inquisitively.

"You'll see. It's better that way."

He slung the satchel over one shoulder and gave her a broad grin.

"Ready?"
