Chapter 1: Spark of Rebellion Part 1

Welcome back everybody, this is officially the first chapter of this fic, and will cover all of Spark of Rebellion, with maybe some added dialogue and changed parts because, well Ezra isn't a Loth-Rat here. Like I said at the beginning of the Prologue the first 10-15 chapters will cover Season 1 as I figure out my writing style, and then things will ramp up into the AU. I haven't actually thought that far ahead yet though so we will get there when we get there. For now I'm thinking of keeping a liberal 1-2 week upload schedule, but if I really take to writing then I may update more often than that. In the mean time expect a new chapter every 7-14 days since the last chapter. Once we get into the AU part of the story that might go up or down I don't know yet, but I am committed to seeing this through until the end. Hope you all enjoy!

9 Months After the Prologue

It was mostly a cloudy day on Lothal, not much going on. I was leaning up against the railing of my tower when all of a sudden, the sun was blotted out by a massive Star Destroyer.

That thing is massive, must have thousands of Imps on it.

The next thing I realized is that with such a big ship, means increased shipments.

With that in mind I quickly grabbed everything I would need for the day, running checks on my gear to make sure everything was in working order.

Lightsaber… check,

Blaster pistols… check,

Backpack with lockpicks and slicing equipment… check,

Armor… check, I need to repaint this set, still got the old purple and red combo.

Helmet… maybe?

Do I wear my helmet, or should I try to be inconspicuous?

I can always hide it somewhere, better to be prepared, check.

Drawing my jacket around my upper body armor to make it less obvious I quickly throw on my helmet, run downstairs to a waiting speeder bike, and fly off towards the city.

There's no way I'm letting those Imps get more gear on planet, especially since they only want to crack down more on the locals. Raiding farms, forcing people out of their homes. It's disgusting.

As I make my way into Capitol City, I park my speeder bike in a side alley I know nobody uses much and try to get a visual on the current situation.

It looks like some kriffing Imperial bozos are trying to shake up one of the local produce stands.

Well now that's just not okay.

The brute of an officer started it off, "Your Identification, now!"

"I'm just trying to sell a couple Jogans here."

"All trade must be registered with the Empire" the one that looks like a pencil said.

"I remember what it was like before your ships showed up. Before you Imperials ruined Lothal like the rest of the Galaxy!"

Guys got some nerve, probably not the best spot though. Ten credits he gets arrested.

"This is LRC-01, I am bringing in a citizen under a charge of treason" Pencil man says.

Hah! Called it, learn to pick your fights guy. I guess I can bail you out somehow though.

"Copy that LRC-01, Dispatch to cell block, AA-33" the reply on the radio came.

"Take him away!"

"You can't do this!" the shopkeeper pleads.

"Oh ya, who's gonna stop us? You? You?" the brute quickly fires back, while taking the basket of jogan fruit.

I guess this is where I come in.

"Hey mister, uh spare jogan?" I jump in.

"Move along, Loth-rat!"

Man, can't even pronounce Loth right.

"Sorry, Sorry not looking for any trouble" I tell him, as I swipe one of the comms.

I quickly walk off with the Imperial communicator device, "But it sure has a way of finding me".

Guess this is where the diversion comes in.

I change my voice to sound more imperial while speaking into the comm "All officers to the main square, this is a code red emergency, I repeat a code red emergency."

"It's your lucky day scum" Pencil man says while letting go the shopkeeper.

"Repeat, this is a code red emergency."

The officers quickly stalked off and I approach the shopkeeper who thanks me vigorously.

"No, thank you." As I grab up jogan fruit for the road.

I did save his life; only fair I get sweet desert out of it.

I quickly bound up the side of a building to get on to a rooftop to survey the market.

I crawl over to the ledge while I watch the confusion ensue that I so deliberately caused.

"Huh, almost feel bad for them." I chuckle out.

"Almost"

Suddenly the force tugs for my attention, almost calling me to something.

That's weird, I haven't felt anything like that since dad was taken.

I quickly scurry over to the other ledge to see what could be trying to get my attention.

Then I realize it.

This can't be that.

There's no way this was that dream I had.

It almost feels like a master-padawan link.

But that's not possible I've never even met this guy.

Sure enough, the man from my dream was standing right there.

Shoulder guard, nerf tail, lots of dark green.

Who picks dark green, such a boring color, there's no way anybody who cares about style would let him go out in that?

The man quickly turns around and stares at the spot I was just at, but not before I duck down to make sure he doesn't see me.

"That was weird" I mutter.

The man didn't seem to notice me, and instead keeps moving down the street.

He stopped by what looks to be a Lasat! He must be the last of his species, I heard about what happened to Lasan.

The man tapped twice on his leg, and instantly the Lasat started moving to follow behind him.

Hmm, they must be working together, but where there's two there's more. Must be whole crew gotta keep watching to find out.

The man proceeded down the street where there happened to be an incredibly colorful Mandalorian waiting.

He gave that tapping signal again, and the Mando tapped her holsters in response.

"There's more to this than meets the eye" I chuckle out.

The mando moved off to the side where she, WHAT?

Did she just throw an explosive on that speeder bike?!

*BOOM*

Yep, that was an explosive.

They must be trying to steal those supplies the officer was talking about.

"Get those crates out of here!" One of the Imp officers' yells.

Immediately three speeder bikes with crates attached to them start speeding away.

Well that just won't do, let's see how they get out of this one.

"Keep them secure at all costs!"

"All costs, huh? I like the sound of that." I laugh.

As the three bikes speed down an alley, the man from before blocks their path with a land speeder and sarcastically says "How's it going?"

I like this guy.

He quickly hopped out of the land speeder, kicking one of the riders off their bike and shooting at the other two.

As reinforcements came in, he drew a big enough crowd so that nobody ever noticed the Lasat sneaking up behind them.

The fur ball managed to take out five troopers in seconds as none of them knew what hit them.

This is my shot; I just have to time it right.

Seeing my opening I hop down from the roof onto one of the speeder bikes.

"Thanks for doing the heavy lifting!" I call out with a wave, as I quickly throw the bike into reverse and take off.

The Lasat threw a swing at me, but the force warned me a mile away.

As I'm gunning it down the street, I feel something land on the back of the speeder I'm on.

Kriff, I swear if it's that, YUP, IT'S THAT MANDO!

I do a quick roll back and attempt to kick the mando off the speeder, but my foot misses her.

She rolled forward and onto the chair of the speeder bike to start piloting.

Oh well if that's how we want to play this.

I quickly draw one of my blaster's and press it into the back of her neck.

"If you want to live, your gonna drive exactly where I say to."

"Like hell I am, kid" she mutters.

Well, she has it coming.

I quickly set the blaster to stun and shoot the mando. I drag her out of the pilot's chair and onto the crates so I can take control of the speeder bike again.

Kriffing stubborn mando's.

In the amount of time this took, the man and the lasat managed to catch back up to me as we exit the city.

A stray shot from an imperial speeder manages to catch my speeder bike in the engine and I jump the median to the other lane.

The man dropped his crates to the lasat in order to gain speed to catch me.

He jumped the median to my side and stopped causing me to come to a skid stop.

"Who are you?" I ask.

"I'm the guy who was stealing those crates, and I want my crewmate back!" he says.

"Well, this has been fun, honestly, I haven't had so much fun messing with Imps in a long while." I tell him honestly.

"Ok so give me my crates and my crew and we'll be on our way."

"I will if you have something to deal with that TIE." I mutter.

"WHAT?!"

As soon as he yells, he turns around and realizes that there is still a TIE fighter about to blow us up.

I really don't want to have to do this, but it's about to shoot.

As the man braces for the inevitable strafing run that is about to hit us, I grab the TIE out of the air with the force and spike it into the ground.

"Woah" he mutters surprised.

As he is trying to wrap his head around what happened the crazy mando on the back of my speeder actually wakes up. Unfortunately for me she didn't really take kindly to me stunning her earlier.

I feel the cold metal of her blasters against my head and neck.

"One wrong move, and you die." She spits out.

I slowly raise my hands in the air and step off the speeder, kneeling down to show I mean them no harm.

I wonder if speaking to her in mando'a would help?

Better just save that for later, unless I really need to.

The ship touched down to pick up the blasters and its crew, but the mando girl forced me inside as well.

"Hey! What are you doing! First, those are my crates, second you're kidnapping me!" I yell.

She yanks my arm behind me while saying "Shut up and get inside!".

As I'm forced inside this new ship, the mando, man, and lasat all move in front of me, and the lasat opens the crate to one of the best sights I've seen all day.

E-11 blasters! Good thing we got them out of the hands of the Empire!

I've got to keep my identity hidden so instead I say, "Do you know how much these things are worth on the black market?!"

The man frowns and says, "I do actually".

While the lasat actually growls out "Don't get any ideas!".

OK, how do I play this? Messing with this lasat could be fun, but risky.

If he tries to attack me, I just have to remember the combat training from mother's books.

Deciding to see this through I say, "They're mine!"

"If you hadn't gotten in our way."

I spit out "To bad, I got there first!"

The man tries to defuse the situation by saying "It's not who's first, it's who's last."

Wow, that's not bad. I'll have to remember that one.

"Keep an eye on our friend here" the man says while climbing a ladder to what I assume is the cockpit.

The lasat just crosses his arms and glares at me, while the mando remains motionless.

I hop onto the crate to take a seat.

Ok, these guys are starting to get on my nerves. Messing with this lasat is fun and all, but I don't think he's just kidding around.

Suddenly the ship shakes from a TIE blast, and the pilot swerves out of the way sending me sprawling to the ground with the lasat on top of me.

OH, I forgot how TERRIBLE lasat smell.

"OH, Get off of me! Can't … Breathe!" I manage to get out.

The lasat responds in a low growl "I'm not that heavy in this gravity."

OOH perfect opening!

"Not the weight, the smell!" I get out as he's getting up.

The Lasat looks like he's about to kill me as he literally snarls at me "You don' like the air quality, do ya? Well here lemme give ya, your own room."

He tries grabbing one of my boots to drag me to another room, but before he can I roll over and plant my boot in his face, "How about no! Keep your hands off me!"

The lasat looks incensed after the kick and moves to jump at me.

I spin to the side, and spin kick him in the side knocking the air out of him. "I said don't!"

The lasat gets back up panting for breaths "I … don't care … what you said, you're a danger to this ship and getting in that KRIFFING ROOM!"

He lunges at me again, but this time before I can get away, he tackles me to the ground. I sucker punch in the nose and elbow him in the neck, as he tries to bring a hammer fist down on me.

The elbow to the neck must have stunned him because that fist never ends up connecting, and instead he rolls off of me.

Serves you right you big angry fur ball.

Wait.

He tried to punch me in the face.

Where the hell is my helmet? I know I grabbed it this morning.

That explains a lot actually. No wonder my heads been …

I hear the trademark click of blasters being taken off safety behind me.

Ok, so you want to go down that road?

I quickly roll back before she can get any shots off, knocking her blasters out of her hand.

Well…

I thought I was at least.

She quickly moved out of the way and while I did manage to kick away one blaster she held onto the other.

Ok that normally works, how do I play this now…

I quickly dart at her and manage to grab onto the wrist she's holding the blaster with, while at the same time lashing out with my right hand, putting a little bit of the force behind it as well.

She went flying back dropping the blaster but turned the fall into a roll and came right back at me.

How is she moving so fast? If this ends up being long term, I am definitely getting combat tips from her. If she doesn't kill me first.

Gotta survive this whole ordeal first.

Moving like a blur she quickly tackles me, and sucker punches me right in the face.

OW, ok, ya, I'm not fighting her, she'll wipe the floor with my ass. "OK OK, I give up, I give up."

I do know when there's a fight I can win or not. I could pull my lightsaber out of its hiding spot, but I'm not quite ready to give up that info yet.

The mando seems surprised by something inside my jacket, "Beskar'gam?"

Oh kriff, during the scuffle my jacket must have loosened some, and without the helmet they had no idea I had armor.

I quickly try to cover it up, but to no avail. The girl quickly tore my jacket off and saw the full set of upper body beskar armor I was wearing including the body suit beneath.

Haar'Chak! I was trying to avoid giving up my identity, and now here I am wearing beskar!

The girl doesn't seem too happy as she grabs one of her blasters, and plants it firmly in the side of my head. "Explain yourself! Now!"

Ok gotta cover this up somehow.

I quickly sputter out the first thing that comes to mind "I got it off some dead mercenary, after there was a firefight in town!"

WOW, Really, I mean, that's just bad. I'm either going to die for that or rece….

Yup, she punched me.

With this girl dripping with rage, and my cover already somewhat blown, I figure I might as well try to mend this situation.

Speaking in mando'a I quickly say "I will wear beskar with pride, I will speak mando'a to other Mandalorians, I will defend myself and my family, I will raise my children as Mandalorians, I will contribute to the Clan, I will rally behind my Mandalor."

That should get her.

The girl is absolutely shocked saying "Are you mando'ade?"

Ouch, swallow your pride Ezra, swallow your pride. "No I'm not mando'ade, I never got the chance to pass my trials, as my parents were taken from me when I was seven."

The force rings out with guilt and shock from the girl, while the lasat just looks confused.

The lasat decides to interject "So you speak mando'a? Are you Mandalorian? Makes sense how you can fight."

Swallowing my pride again I say, "No I'm not Mandalorian, and I would prefer not to talk about it."

The girl realizes I want to stop the conversation and turns to the lasat to tell him something. I can't hear what they are saying, but I realize they aren't paying any attention to me right now.

Well, if I'm gonna go exploring this is my shot.

I quickly scramble up a different ladder than the man earlier and start walking through what looks like the crew area.

Once through there, I arrive in a sort of kitchen or common room area. Looking around it isn't much, just a dejarik table, couch, table, and kitchen appliances.

Moving through there is a ladder down to what looks like a gun turret. I slide down the ladder and am met with possibly the most beautiful sight ever.

I'm in SPACE,

Two TIE Fighters start firing on the ship right in front of me.

AND I'M GONNA DIE.

Over the intercom I hear what must be the pilot say "Shields are holding for now, but you need to buy me time to calculate the jump to lightspeed."

The man is quick to reply "Buying time now."

Maybe I should try and shoot back, I know how to fly a starfighter, but this turret is different.

Before I can even start shooting back, the mando girl rips me out of the seat, and takes her helmet off.

WOAH. That is the most beautiful girl, I have EVER Seen.

Dark blue hair with orange towards the tips, tan skin, amazing Amber eyes, and a face framed perfectly by the hair.

She glares at me before hopping into the seat and starts firing on the TIE's.

She's a damn good shot too.

Didn't I hear somebody say Sabine earlier?

Trying to muster up something to say to her, I quite possible say the worst thing I could in mando'a "My name's Ezra, what's yours?"

What the hell was that? Come on Ezra you had better pick up lines when you were 4!

Before I can actually continue down that line of thoughts, a rough and furry hand spins me around, "My name's Zeb, you Loth-rat." Zeb spits out.

I just smile back at him like I wasn't doing anything.

That probably made him more upset. Oh well if I have to, I can defend myself.

Over the comm I hear the pilot yell "Calculations complete, but I need an opening!"

The mando girl, I think her name is Sabine, shouts out "Found One!" and proceeds to scrap a TIE fighter.

By the gods, she's gorgeous. A mix of beauty, creativity, and lethality. She's literally perfect.

The pilot yells back "Entering hyperspace now!"

The ship suddenly lurches into hyperspace, and I'm met by the beautiful whites and blues of hyperspace.

Zeb turns to me with a glare, "Cockpit. Now."

I turn to walk out of the turret area with Zeb and the mando tailing me.

Probably making sure I don't actually damage anything. Like I would steal from these guys, I just want to go back to my tower.

Walking into the cockpit, I see the pilot, who surprisingly is a green Twilek. "Take me back to Lothal!"

The pilot turns around and sizes me up, "Relax that's exactly what we're doing."

Wait what…

"What do you mean, with the Empire chasing us?"

The pilot just smiles and says, "We lost the TIE's when we jumped, and The Ghost can scramble it's signature, so we won't have any problems getting back on world."

I can't lie "Woah, that's pretty cool."

That sounds a lot like the MK 6 Supremacy-class starfighter I have in the hangar.

Speaking of that I need to get that and the Korm'k out soon and do some maintenance.

But they will not see that. Well. Maybe. I just get the feeling I can trust them with a little bit of my past.

Like I'm supposed to join these guys.

Still gotta find out for sure, so for now the charade keeps up. "So just drop me and my blasters off at Capitol City."

I'm cut off by the door opening and the mando and man standing in the doorway.

The mando quickly says "They're not your blasters".

The man adds on "And we aren't going back to Capitol City. The jobs not done."

I don't know why, but I can't sense any deception or lies coming from any of them. In fact, I'm getting almost nothing from the man. Is he force sensitive? He definitely knows I am if he knows anything about the force. Maybe I should have thought through spiking that TIE earlier.

Quickly deciding to drop the act I say "All right fine, but if I'm coming with you were making a pit stop so I can grab something. It shouldn't be to far out of the way, but I take it into every fight, and that isn't changing."

The girl is the first to respond, "First off, my name's Sabine, second off we don't have to listen to you."

Before I realize what, I'm saying I retort "Ya, well if you knew what I was grabbing you wouldn't have much of a choice."

She quickly throws me to the ground on my stomach and levels a blaster at my head "And if you were smart you would shut up and listen to what we say."

Ok that was uncalled for.

The pilot quickly introduces herself "My name's Hera, Sabine put the blaster away."

Ok Sabine, Hera, Zeb, Mystery Man, and … a droid?

Sabine puts away the blaster as I climb to my feet.

The man introduces himself as Kanan, and the droid as Chopper.

"My name's Ezra in case any of you were wondering."

Hera quickly amends the situation saying, "Ezra we don't have much time, but if what you need to grab is really that important, we can make one stop, where do we need to go?"

Alright better think of what I'm bringing now, instead of later.

"It's an old tower outside the city, it's where I lived ever since my parents were taken."

Hera looks empathetic for a moment before saying "All right if you want, we can just drop you off and you can stay "

I quickly cut her off "No don't just drop me off, I got involved in whatever this is I'm gonna see it through to the end."

She quickly nods "Alright we'll head there then to Vizago."

The ship pops out of hyperspace, and I'm greeted with the view of Lothal from space. "Woah"

Hera smiles and nods "Ya it's beautiful isn't it."

"Ya" I give her the coordinates for my tower, and she starts that way.

I never knew Lothal was so gorgeous from space. The greens and blues and browns all mixing to create a masterpiece.

I move back out of the cockpit into the common room where Kanan, Zeb, and Sabine are all having a hushed conversation.

Dipping into my bag of tricks I increase my hearing sensitivity using the force So I can hear what they are talking about.

I hear Kanan first "Well the kid definitely isn't just some random Loth-rat."

Zeb's next "I don't know what your talkin about Kanan, he ain't special. I've seen his type before and their just trouble waitin to happen."

Sabine interjects "No he isn't who he says he is, he speaks mando'a fluently and is practically Mandalorian. He just hasn't had the trials."

Kanan suddenly notices me staring at them. "Hey kid, come here."

I move over closer to them saying "No I'm not exactly who I say I am, but that's because I don't just trust everybody I see."

They look shocked that I knew what they were talking about.

"Also we're coming up on my tower soon, so you might want to get ready."

Before I can say anything else I quickly march off to the cargo area.

No I don't trust them, they kidnapped me and then attacked me, why in the galaxy would I trust them.

I just want to go to my tower, grab my gear, kill some buckets and let out some stress.

Without thinking I grab one of the empty crates with the force and crush it to the size of a small rock.

Whoa, ok don't let your emotions completely control you. Control your emotions.

Emotion, yet peace.

Inhale, Exhale.

Inhale, Exhale.

Calm.

The ship touches down and the cargo bay door opens, as the rest of the crew makes their way down.

They start leaving the ship, and I can't help but ask "What are you guys doing?"

Hera turns around and says "Were gonna help you grab whatever you need, so we can get moving faster."

I start to panic and blabber out "Uhhh N-no you don't need to do that. I got it completely under control. 100%. No need for you to help me."

They all turn around at this and Kanan just raises an eyebrow. "Uh huh. What are you hiding kid?"

Kriff, Haar'chak, force what am I gonna do now.

If they see anything in there my identity is completely blown.\

"It's just I have some personal items in there. I would rather not everyone see."

Sabine looks right at me and says, "Probably nothing we've never seen before" and continues over to my tower.

I mutter under my breath "Oh trust me you've never seen this before."

Sabine looks over her shoulder "What was that?"

"Nothing, I'll let you guys in, but DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING!"

Kanan turns around "Whatever you say boss."

I want to murder him. I want to grab my lightsaber and murder him.

Trying to remember everything that's in eyesight once you walk in I quickly catch up to them, "Hey just so you guys know there's probably some stuff you won't understand or recognize, so please don't ask about them."

Kanan looks at me and says, "What kind of things?"

I glare at him and say, "What happened to not asking questions?"

"I didn't agree to that, and your gonna answer my questions!"

I wonder if I could just mind trick them into leaving. It'd be risky cause I still don't have a read on Kanan, but I'm sure I could pull it off on the others.

The lift opening snaps me out of my train of thought and we all step in, and I press the button for the top floor.

The door slides open and my first thought.

Kriff.

I left one of the Sith Holocrons, two of the jedi Holocrons, Revan's red lightsaber, some Mandalorian texts, and some of my spare beskar out. Not to mention the other incriminating things in the room.

Kanan instantly turns hostile on me "Sith Holocrons!? Are you a Sith?!"

Realizing that Kanan is definitely a force sensitive, and at this point probably an Order 66 survivor I quickly try to defuse the situation, "No I'm not a Sith, in fact my father was a sentinel in the temple before order 66. These Holocrons were passed down through my family. Along with all the Mandalorian items you see laying around."

Sabine turns to me, "What relation do you have to the Mandalorians?"

I answer back, "My mother Mira Bridger, was clan and house Vizla."

I can leave out the part of being Shae Vizla's, and Darth Revan's direct descendant for now.

Kanan resumes where he was "That doesn't explain the Sith Holocrons, so you better have a good reason otherwise I'm confiscating them in the name of the Republic."

That almost got my blood boiling. "You will not touch my family history! You really want to know why I have a Sith Holocron? Why don't you let me open it up and show you!"

Before he can say anything, I grab the Holocron with the force, pouring my rage into it and opening it.

Kanan goes pale as he realizes what I'm showing him.

"I am a direct descendant of the Sith Lord, and Jedi Knight Revan! He walked the path between the Light and the Dark, and so will I like my ancestors before me!"

Calming down I set down the Holocron and turn to face them all. They all are wearing shock on their faces like I've never seen before.

Sabine is the first to recover, "I thought Revan was a myth! The Jedi Knight turned Sith, turned Jedi that defeated the Sith and rode off into the sunset with Bastilla Shan? It's been portrayed as a myth for the last thousand years!"

I quickly fire back "Was Mandalor the Preserver a myth? He fought beside Revan before he disappeared, and you claim them to be a myth?"

She suddenly understood, "I guess not, but you're a direct descendant of Revan?"

Guess I can let the other cat out of the bag.

"Yes, but that's not all. On my mothers' side I am also a direct descendant of Mandalor the Avenger, Shae Vizla."

Sabine looks angry and taken back, "How can you claim such things? Surely you must have proof for a claim as that!"

"Yes, I do have proof. If you really want to see it follow me.

I pulled my red lightsaber to me from where it was on the table and clip it to my belt.

They follow me to the armory where I keep most of the gear my parents left behind. There are a few Westar style blaster rifles, and pistols. Along with parts for lightsabers, a few kyber crystals, and a few sets of old Jedi and Mandalorian armor. There were a few vibroblades and swords in one corner, but I don't often see the need to practice with those since I have my lightsabers. The most impressive thing is the stack of Unforged pure beskar in one corner. It's enough to forge at least three full sets of armor.

"Woah" Sabine says as she can't help but feel in awe of the amount of Mandalorian history in the room.

A few more Jedi and Sith Holocrons sit out, along with more Mandalorian texts that I haven't had the chance to read.

"If you say woah to that then somebody get ready to catch her." I say as I prepare to open up the secret compartment in the wall.

I open up the compartment to show them the coup de grace. Inside is the full set of armor from both Revan and Shae Vizla, along with the mask of Mandalor, and the darksaber.

Sabine nearly faints as move to catch her. I quickly wrap her arm around my shoulders and say, "Told you so".

"Shut up, stop touching me I'm fine." She moves away from me.

I glance around at all of them, "You said you wanted proof, well here it is. You now know my secret and you're the only ones that do. I'm trusting you with my life here because if the Empire ever finds out who I am, I'll never be able to set foot in a city again."

Hera quickly assures me, "We won't tell anybody. I can see why you would want to hide yourself from everybody, but I have to ask you something. Do you want to come with us? At least for one mission? We could really somebody with your power."

I quickly nod my head, "I'm willing to come with you guys to finish selling these weapons to whoever is your buyer. After that I'll see where I stand. I'd like to learn a little more about you guys and what you do. I've been waiting for my chance to fight the Empire for far to long now. And I have this feeling your crew is exactly what I've been waiting for."

Kanan shakes his head, "No, you need a teacher. Somebody that can help you control the force."

I gesture to him, "Why can't you be that person. Sure, I have more raw power than you, but you clearly have more control than I do. You can help teach me that control that I would need. I plan on becoming a Jedi one day, but not the kind of old. I want to walk the path of the middle, the only path that finds true balance."

Kanan thinks this over for a few moments before responding, "Ok, lets get this mission done, then I'll see where you're at. It won't be 100% focused on force training though because we still have to put food on the table."

I quickly nod, "That's fine, I only need help with the force. The various Holocrons I have, helped me learn lightsaber combat over my lifetime. I've mastered forms II, III, V, and VII. I'm currently working on form IV, but it's more difficult since I don't have the control over the force I need. Forms V and VII were not as difficult because I could let my emotions control it, but from IV needs more precision. I don't know when I'll get around to form VI, as it's not really needed as much anymore. I definitely don't plan on using double bladed sabers anytime soon, but I do sometimes dual wield sabers." I turn to Sabine, "but I wouldn't mind if you could teach me some hand-to-hand combat. You're clearly the hand-to-hand expert of the crew, and I would be honored if you would teach me."

Sabine's face turned a crimson red as she shoved her helmet back on. "Uh y-ya I would uhm, I could show you some stuff."

Zeb let out a roar of laughter as I turn to him, "Big guy you could use the help to. The sorry display of combat earlier was just sad. All brawn, no brain."

Zeb quickly went from laughing to growling at me, "Why you little".

Kanan quickly interjected, "Ok let's calm down and get back to the ship. Ezra grab what you need and meet us back in the Ghost common room. Don't take to long, ten minutes."

I nod as they start leaving.

This is what I've been waiting for. This is my chance to take the fight to the Empire. Get rid of them for good.

I quickly get changed into my personal under suit and armor, grab Mandalore's mask, the dark saber, and Revan's lightsabers. I check my vambraces to make sure they are good to go.

Flamethrower, check

Grappling Line, check

Poison Darts, check

Stun charges, check

Repulsor, check

Missiles, check

With my vambraces good to go, I throw my jetpack on, don my mask and leave. Making sure I lock the armor and the tower behind me, I'm ready to go.

If I'm going to do this, I'm going to do it with style.

Tucking away the purple lightsaber in a pouch designed for it I clip both the darksaber and Revan's red lightsaber to my belt.

I board the Ghost and make my way to the common room near the bridge of the ship.

As I enter all eyes turned to me and Sabine makes a startled noise and quickly drops down onto one knee.

Looking at her I can't help but chuckle a little bit, "Sabine I am not claiming the throne yet, even if I could I am not truly a Mandalorian yet. Nobody would see me as fit to lead. Had I been able to complete my trials maybe I would claim the throne, but until then I am not the leader our people need."

Sabine looks up in shock, "Then why do you wear the mask and bear the sword? You are making a statement that you want to lead our people, even if they won't follow you."

I sadly shake my head, "I wear and bear the mask and saber because it is all I have left of my family. When in possession of the mask my mother or any of her ancestors claimed the throne. One day I will find the rightful ruler of Mandalore, but until that day comes, I will bear my family legacy proudly."

Sabine nodded, and stood up, "All right then, I will respect your decision."

"I appreciate that." I say quietly.

Everybody looks on in confusion as Sabine explains to them that whoever has the darksaber can make a legitimate claim for the Mandalorian throne, and the mask of Mandalore used to mean the same thing until it was lost to time. The fact that I have both means most Mandalorians would instantly see me as the rightful ruler of Mandalore.

I shake my head, "With all due respect Sabine, I must disagree. After Maul they would never let another outsider lead."

Sabine starts to get angry at this, "You claim to be an outsider when you are not! You are a direct descendant of Mandalore the Avenger! That alone is enough for our people to include you."

I wonder. What if I was able to join a clan?

The only way I see our people accepting me is if I am actually part of a clan, which right now I am not.

I turn to Sabine, "I am clan less, the only way for me to be accepted is for me to join a clan."

Sabine blushes a little as she says, "Well in the future an opportunity may present itself for you to do so."

She doesn't mean as in us getting, together does she? No, she couldn't possibly mean that. She must mean for me to join Clan Vizla again.

I nod, "I have thought that, and it could be possible for me to join Clan Vizla. My mother was a part of them until she left to raise me. I doubt they would accept an outside force wielder though."

Sabine accepts this, "Clan Vizla may not, seeing as your mother left them to raise you, but there are other clans."

I guess that might work. If another clan adopts me I could regain my Mandalorian status.

I'd still have to pass my trials, but that wouldn't be a problem.

Without thinking I blurt out, "Sabine what clan are you?"

Realizing what I said I quickly duck my head in embarrassment as my cheeks feel like they are on fire.

Sabine does the same before replying, "Clan Wren."

No way. I have to ask!

"Is Clan Wren still House Vizla?"

Sabine slowly nods, "Yes we are still House Vizla, but I don't think I would be able to get you into the clan. It's a long story and I can explain it to you later, maybe."

I accept this, "Moving on, how far away from your buyer are we?"

As I soon as I ask, the ship touches down and Hera exists the cockpit, "We're here, me and Kanan will go meet Vizago while you guys go deliver some crates to the local town.

As we make our way down to the cargo hold Zeb and Sabine both starts pushing crates towards the nearest village.

Sabine turns to me, "Grab a crate, pull your weight."

OK. Cheesy line, but I'll let it slide.

I grab a crate and start pushing it towards the town, "Lived on Lothal my whole life. Never been here before."

Sabine looks over her shoulder, "Empire doesn't advertise it to much. Local's call it Tarkin Town. Named after the Governor of the rim himself, Grand Moff Tarkin. He kicked these people off their farms and forced them into a life of poverty."

Stopping in the middle of the town Zeb yelled out, "Who wants free grub!"

As people started approaching us a Rodian walked up, and personally thanked me for everything we did.

"I didn't do anything though…"

I don't deserve praise for this. I didn't help the crew get these supplies. All I'm doing is handing it out.

Realizing quickly, I shouldn't be here I turn and head back to the ship.

Back at the Ghost I'm sitting on the ramp just thinking about what happened today when I get a tug from the force. It feels kind of similar to how my Kyber Crystals sing to me, but it's different.

Getting up, I board the ship trying to track down what could possibly be calling me. Realizing it's coming from Kanan's room I suddenly make the connection.

It must be a lightsaber, or a Holocron. And I'm guessing this confirms my suspicion of him being a Jedi.

Opening the door, I sit down on the bunk and find a hidden compartment underneath. Inside was both a Holocron and a lightsaber.

It's a Jedi Holocron, so yup definitely dealing with a Jedi. Probably an Order 66 survivor guessing from his age.

I grab the lightsaber and ignite it to find it contains a blue Kyber Crystal.

"Sentinel, just like my dad."

The door suddenly opens to show Kanan and Hera.

Kanan is the first to speak, "What was your dad's name?"

"Ephraim Bridger."

Kanan nods, "I remember him being around the temple. He spoke with me a few times. He left shortly before I became a padawan, so that he could raise you."

He continued, "Now put that thing down before you cut your arm off."

Deactivating the blade, I hand it and the Holocron to him, before making my way to the kitchen area.

Sabine was inside making herself a drink, "Not so good at following directions are ya kid?"

I look back at her, "Not really, how bout you?"

She chuckles, "Never really been my specialty. You know when you get older your gonna have to reforge that armor. It looks like it fits right now, but I'm guessing your gonna be getting bigger. If you need a forge, I might be able to get you to one."

Taking my mask off and clipping it to my belt, I shake my head, "No I have a forge in my tower. It's underground along with the hangar."

Sabine looks shocked, "You have a hangar and a forge?! What do you need a hangar for?"

I look up to her, "It's where I keep the two ships I inherited. One is a Mandalorian Korm'k class gunship, and the other is an Old Republic era MK6 Supremacy-Class starfighter. My mother owned the Korm'k, and the Shadow Dagger, was passed down to me. It was Revan's personal starfighter. I'm still learning how to fly though so I don't get to do nearly as much as I want. Mosty just maintenance on both. My family was taken by the Empire, so I haven't had anybody to teach me. What happened to your family?"

Before she could respond Zeb walked in, "Kanan wants us in the briefing room, Chopper will watch Ezra as we solidify what were doing. If Kanan agrees and the kid wants to he can tag along, but the briefing is crew only."

Sabine and Zeb both left leaving just me and Chopper in the kitchen.

"Womp Womp Wheee Whirrr"

I look at Chopper like he's gone mad, "What do you mean I should sneak my way into the briefing?"

This droid likes to start stuff. But I could use that to my advantage.

Looking up I see a ventilation shaft that would lead to where the briefing is at.

I hop up take the panel off and start crawling through. By the time I hear voices I notice I can come out of the ducts into a small closet. I quickly get out of the vent by my armor bangs into the door. I freeze, hoping nobody heard that until the closet door opens.

Realizing I made a mistake I quickly scramble back into the vents, but Zeb manages to catch my leg and throw me across the room.

I quickly bounce back up drawing both the darksaber and my red lightsaber, igniting them once I'm in my stance.

Everybody draws their guns, except Sabine, and points them at me.

Zeb ruthlessly asks, "Can we please get rid of him!"

Sabine steps up, "No we can't! First off, he knows too much, second, he is the rightful ruler of Mandalore, and you will not touch him!"

I shake my head, "Sabine enough with the ruling Mandalore osik. I'm not ruling Mandalore, and I want to help your crew. But until furball decides not to kill me in my sleep I'm not going anywhere."

Kanan and Hera quickly put their blasters away, but Zeb is still wary. Kanan assures Zeb nothing will happen, and that Hera can watch him for now.

Kanan then turns to me, "We're gonna talk about why you use a red lightsaber later. I can hear that Crystal practically screaming from here. I know Revan also carried a purple blade. If you want to walk the path between the light and dark, you should be wielding that."

After that Hera and I made our way to the cockpit where we prepped to dock with the transport that had the Wookie Prisoners.

Something is up. The force doesn't feel right.

I turn to Hera, "Something's wrong about this."

She turns back to me, "Well this is our only chance to get these wookies out of here. We have to take it."

As we exit hyperspace, I see a transport with four TIE's docked to it.

Hera raises them on the Comm, "Imperial transport 651, this is Starbird coming inbound."

"State your business."

"Bounty, we captured an additional wookie prisoner and have transfer orders to place him with you."

"We have no such orders!"

"That's fine, we already got paid by Governor Tarkin, if you don't want the oversized fur ball I'll jettison here, and let you explain to your superiors why the Empire has one less slave."

"Permission to dock, Bay 1."

Hera cut the comm as the Ghost docked with the imperial transport. The plan was for Zeb to pose as a wookie prisoner while Kanan and Sabine escort him. Once they found the wookies they release them and stage an escape.

Pretty simple plan, but I guess in the end the best plans are the ones with the least moving parts.

As Hera was talking to Kanan on the comm, they suddenly cut out. Hera tried the others and figured the comms were downed.

No that's not comms being downed, that's comms being jammed.

Hera realized this as the force gave me a massive warning.

"Something's coming…"

Just then a star destroyer jumped out of hyperspace on an intercept route with the transport.

Hera looked up, "That's an Imperial Star Destroyer!"

I look over to her, "This whole thing was a set up!"

"It's beginning to look like that."

I look back at the star destroyer, "Wait here I've gotta go warn the others, they won't have any idea that it was a trap."

Hera looked up at me with a proud smile, "Ok go!"

So, everybody that was Chapter 1! I know much longer than the prologue. This chapter finished at just around 8,000 words whereas the prologue was only about 1,500. I want to clear a few things up now that we have finished this first chapter. One, this is very much a Sabezra story. There will not be any sex scenes or lemons, but there will eventually be some fluff and romance. It's going to be a while though because like the show they are going to have to learn how to be around each other. In the timeline I'm building It'll be around the end of Season 2 towards the start of Season 3 where Sabine finally realizes that she might like Ezra more than she thought. They will have interactions before that, but not to spoil anything it will mostly be breaking them down a bit, so they realize they really do trust each other. Right now Sabine still sees Ezra as a 14 year old kid with a massive crush on her. Second I wanted to ask you guys if you actually want to see me rewrite Season 1 of Rebels, or if you would rather me do a chapter which summarizes most of what happened, along with a time skip to the beginning of season 2 along with the start of the AU. I will do the other part of Spark of Rebellion because I wanted to get Ezra's new backstory in along with him meeting the crew, but other than that Season 1 would stay mostly the same with Kanan teaching Ezra how to properly control his abilities. He's incredibly powerful, and can use his abilities, but often goes to far. Don't worry I'm not gonna make him stupid OP where he can one shot Vader and Palpatine at the same time, but I do think that given his lineage with time he could definitely go toe to toe with Vader and Palpatine. I'll stop rambling here, but please do let me know if you guys want the season 1 rewrites, or the summary and time skip. I'm up for both!
