We wrap up the second arc with a special arrival and, as promised, an explanation of what that energy backlash created by the ritual was about. Disclaimer: I don't own Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, or Danganronpa.

Jojolion Chapter 32: Groovy

Funny Valentine waited at the park outside Hope's Peak Academy. The energy backlash that had occurred was finally starting to settle. As it happened, Hope's Peak Academy sat on one of the world's ley lines, meaning if enough energy hit it, it could breach the dimensional barrier. Dawn was starting to break, and suddenly a mass of rubble appeared from a flash of light. "Are you okay...?," came a young male voice from beneath the rubble. "Yeah, somehow," came a slightly older female voice. "I-I'm sorta stuck here!," came another female voice, this one sounding younger, "Someone... Help me out!"

From the rubble emerged a young woman wearing a red sailor uniform and long brown hair in pigtails. Behind her was a young man with gray-black hair wearing a striped uniform, helping out a young girl with red hair wearing a magician's outfit. "Himiko!," the man said, "Careful..." "Nyeh...," the magician girl, likely Himiko, said, "I'm saved..." "Guys...," the other girl said, "You're gonna want to see this." The two looked and gasped. "Hope's Peak Academy?," the guy said, "But I thought it didn't exist. That all of Danganronpa was just fiction."

Valentine chuckled. "Fiction is nothing more than a creative mind subconsciously tapping into another reality. I'm sure you have a few questions, and I have some of my own." During the talk, the three teens introduced themselves as Shuichi Saihara, Maki Harukawa, and Himiko Yumeno. They revealed they had come from an alternate reality where a fictional game series called Danganronpa had become all too real, including actual Killing Games. Valentine knew of such a series being created by the company Spike Chunsoft, but he was appalled that any government would allow it to be created in real life, especially with actual killings.

Suddenly a beeping noise came from his iPad. He took a quick look. "Looks like my hunch was right. You were allowed into this universe because you have no counterparts within it. There are families that share your last names, however, and they are willing to adopt you into them. With the dimensional barrier closed there's way to return, after all." "Do you think it's okay?," Himiko asked. "We somehow survived after Keebo self-destructed," Maki noted, "And if he was doing what the audience wanted, that means they wanted us to live."

Shuichi nodded. "Even if we suddenly disappeared, it wouldn't matter. The people watching likely knew it was the last time anyone would see us. Our world has no doubt changed for the better. I think it would be nice to live in a new world where there are no Killing Games, and Danganronpa remains purely fictional." "Speaking of which," Valentine said, "I spoke with Kakyoin. Since each of you apparently received Ultimate talents during the process of being converted into fictional characters, he wants to see how far that goes. We're missing a few students in the 79th class for Hope's Peak. Three, in fact."

And so, the three friends took the various tests applied by Hope's Peak. Shuichi was amazed to discover his skills as a detective were stronger than he thought. In fact, he felt as though they had improved tremendously. However, there was already an Ultimate Detective, though he was given the title of Ultimate Investigator. While Maki's assassination skills were taken into consideration, Kizakura had his eyes on a potential for that title already. Luckily, she was able to fall back on her other talent, and became the Ultimate Child Caregiver.

Himiko, having grown a lot since the death of Tenko in her world, found herself relaxing and focusing on being a true magician and not simply insisting she was a mage. Thus she became Hope's Peak Academy's new Ultimate Magician. In addition, Kakyoin tested them to see if they had Stand potential. When it was clear they could see the outline of Hierophant Green, he offered them the use of the Stand arrow. The results were intense, to say the least. Each of them was amazed by the power they obtained.

Himiko manifested Pixies, a giant tree with roots that could manipulate the earth, which in turn could manifest fairy-like constructs to possess and manipulate small objects, though they couldn't control anything larger than herself. Maki manifested The Joykiller, a high-speed humanoid Stand resembling Jason Vorhees, wielding an axe capable of phasing through solid objects and causing them to rot. And finally, Shuichi manifested Ashes Remain, a humanoid energy construct that could infuse him with colored energy capable of altering his physical abilities.

Everything they saw as they were led through a tour of the school was overwhelming. Especially since much of it was different from what they knew of the Danganronpa series. For one, The Tragedy that had been been the driving force of the plot never occurred. In fact, Junko and Mukuro seemed very different from what they knew. The presence of these Stands was also quite jarring in how different they could be. Each of them was also being led by a Hope's Peak alumni they had never even heard of. Himiko had the easiest time with Trixie, having inherited her title of Ultimate Magician.

Maki was a little awkward around Rai, while Shuichi was with Josefumi. At one point, Shuichi saw a rather beautiful girl that he didn't recognize, only for Hiyoko to reveal that it was actually Mikan, having gotten such confidence in herself that she cleaned herself up with some help from Yasuho. Her skin looked clearer, her hair was perfectly straight and shiny, and the bandages were gone. "And so the ugly duckling grows into a swan," Hiyoko said, "Not too shabby. Smells like you even took a bath." "I guess I just needed to understand people's emotions better," Mikan noted, "Just because people don't talk to me doesn't mean they aren't ignoring me."

Mikan wasn't the only one with a slightly different look. Toko's hair was also shinier than normal, and she carried herself with more confidence. Even crazier, it looked like Byakuya actually liked being around her. "There's just so much different from what I know in my world," Shuichi said. "That's to be expected," Josefumi replied, "After all, different worlds have different events." They passed by Ibuki and Sayaka. Ibuki was playing a softer tune than normal, with Sayaka working on some lyrics. "I didn't think you could tone down the music," Sayaka noted.

"Even Heavy Metal has power ballads," Ibuki reminded her, "Besides, as the Ultimate Musician I'm able to play any music." She demonstrated by strumming in a style of country, jazz, classical, and even her old band's light music. "And anyway, it'll be easier when we make our new band trio. We have an Ultimate Pianist for this year! An Ultimate Pianist!" Shuichi gasped as images of Kaede flashed through his mind. Josefumi noticed this and stopped. "Something wrong?" "I just overheard them talking...," Shuichi said. He pushed the thoughts out of his mind, figuring there was no way it could be Kaede.

"Well, we're almost done here," Josefumi said, "And then you can meet your new classmates." "Shuichi!," Himiko said as she ran over to them, "I just saw from the students labs! There was a museum! And an astronaut training center! And a dojo for aikido! And a costume department! And an insect habitat! And a grand piano stage!" Now Shuichi was really confused. "Kiyo... Kaito... Tenko... Tsumugi... Gonta... Kaede..." "That's not all," Maki said as she approached, "I saw a science lab, an art studio, an indoor tennis court... I think you can guess the rest."

The three of them looked at Josefumi, Trixie, and Rai. "For the record," Josefumi said, "This is purely coincidence. They were already scouted and invited prior to your arrival. In fact, we had no idea about your story or that you would even appear in this reality. Perhaps it's fate that in some small way, you would be reunited in another world. But keep in mind, they haven't met you in this world, and there will most certainly be differences between them and the ones you knew."

"I hope so...," Himiko said, remembering how twisted Korekiyo had been in their world. "Well," Rai said, "It's time for orientation." The doors to the main gym opened, and the three friends could barely hold back the tears. Right there, waiting for them, were the classmates they had lost in their world. "And now," Jin said from the podium, "Let us welcome the sixteen students of the 79th class." The three gasped and quickly took their places. Jin smiled, having learned the whole story from Valentine.

"Shuichi Saihara, the Ultimate Investigator. Maki Harukawa, the Ultimate Child Caregiver. Himiko Yumeno, the Ultimate Magician. Rantaro Amami, the Ultimate Adventurer." Shuichi looked surprised. He knew Rantaro as the Ultimate Survivor, but he supposed the other Rantaro had to have a previous title since he was in a previous Killing Game. Jin continued. "Kaede Akamatsu, the Ultimate Pianist. Ryoma Hoshi, the Ultimate Tennis Pro." The three friends noted Ryoma seemed a lot more proud of his title. Perhaps in this world he never became the Ultimate Prisoner.

"Kirumi Tojo, the Ultimate Maid. Angie Yonaga, the Ultimate Artist. Tenko Chabashira, the Ultimate Aikido Master. Korekiyo Shinguji, the Ultimate Anthropologist. Miu Iruma, the Ultimate Inventor. Gonta Gokuhara, the Ultimate Entomologist. Kokichi Oma, the Ultimate Prankster." Now all three friends were surprised, expecting Kokichi to once again be named the Ultimate Supreme Leader. But then again, that might be too out there for the real Hope's Peak. "Kaito Momota, the Ultimate Astronaut. Keebo Idabashi, the Ultimate Robot."

The three of them did a double-take. They hadn't been sure at first, but on a second glance it was clear Keebo was the same robot he was in their world. "And finally," Jin continued, "Tsumugi Shirogane, the Ultimate Cosplayer." As the new classmates stared to greet each other, Shuichi, Maki, and Himiko decided the first thing they should do is get to know more about the new versions of their of their old friends. And maybe even learn what sort of powers each of them had. It was like fiction came alive, but they would soon learn that truth is often stranger than fiction.

And so the three survivors of New Danganronpa V3 are reunited with their old friends. Sort of. Alternate universes, am I right? I originally had plans to go even further with the alternate universes, including bringing in Junko's alternate identity Ryoko Otonashi from another reality, and crossing over with X/1999. All of it got scrapped for simplicity of the plot. I mean, I'm already crossing over so many other universes. Future installments will be less confusing. Anyway, let's check out Shuichi's new Stand.
