Hey everyone! Did we all make it through October? All here? Well welcome to level 11 of Jumanji. We are almost through the year and somehow November is here. Honestly this year has been such a rollercoaster and I'll be relieved when it's all over but I can honestly say I will never forget this year. I don't think any of us will. Work is slowing down again so hopefully I can get writing again. The plan is to have my new Drastoria fic ready to go as an early holiday treat in December. Fingers crossed.

Stay safe.

Lots of love,

Breaking Traditions-Part 32:

Narcissa was sat on the patio overlooking the gardens. It was the day they were going to meet the baby girl. Narcissa wanted to call her Rosalie already but Lucius' common sense had prevailed this time. She was sat sipping her tea and may have asked for a tipple of whiskey to be placed in it, just enough to calm her nerves.

Priscilla and Abraxas, along with Cygnus had taken up temporary residence at the Manor and were a source of comfort to the nervous couple. Priscilla was managing to keep Narcissa calm and that was helping to an extent. Narcissa herself was fairly quiet and Lucius knew that it was nerves. Druella still hadn't been told but that had been agreed upon as the less Druella knew at the present moment the better. She would never find out the orphanage the baby was in. They all knew that Druella wouldn't harm a child but she could make sure the baby was removed before Lucius and Narcissa could meet her.

Lucius was stood with his mother watching Narcissa before the former excused himself and was soon sat with his wife and smiled softly as he felt her head fall onto his shoulder.

"I'm nervous Luc," came a whisper, "what if this isn't meant to be… us adopting a baby? It's all happened so quick and I didn't think it would be this quick…"

"I may have managed to pull a few strings and get the process and match sped up a little," Lucius said before he found himself looking down into his wife's eyes.

"Lucius you shouldn't have done that because I wanted to be treated the same as everyone," Narcissa said as she looked at her husband.

"I know but if it gets our daughter to us quicker then I am willing to do that, not for me but for you," Lucius said as he looked at her and stroked her cheek.

"Of course I am grateful for everything that you have done for us in getting us closer to getting a baby girl but would you do it again if this baby isn't for us?" Narcissa asked and her eyes closed as she felt her husband's lips on her forehead.

"I will do it until we have a daughter," Lucius said softly as he looked at her, "what matters is your happiness and I will… legally… do that until you have our daughter in your arms.

Narcissa moved so she was facing him and cupped his cheek as she kissed him softly. Lucius wrapped his arms around his wife and held her close as he hoped that his risk would work. He couldn't bare Narcissa not having a daughter.

Eventually the couple excused themselves and headed to the orphanage as they were heading the back way so nobody would know where the possible Malfoy child was. The last thing anyone wanted was word getting to Druella and the baby disappearing.

"Deep breath my rose," Lucius said as he stroked Narcissa's cheek feeling the nerves from her, "everything will be OK. There might be a few issues but we'll work through them," he said and Narcissa nodded, just wanting to meet the child that might become her daughter soon.

They were shown to the Head Carer's office and were instantly offered drinks.

"How is the baby?" Narcissa asked as she sipped her tea.

"She's been here nearly a week and she won't feed. Well she will but barely. We're giving her extra milk when we can get it into her but she won't settle," Mrs. Morris said, "we have no idea what to do about it so if you have any ideas then we'd be grateful. We need to work together to keep the baby alive."

Narcissa's heart broke in that moment and Lucius wrapped his arms around his wife and looked at her. Her eyes were glassy with tears and Lucius thought she was going to cry there and then.

"Darling…?" he asked softly as he stroked her cheek.

"Can I try? Can I try and feed her? I need to do something," Narcissa said, "I want to try and help the baby."

"Then I will show you to where the baby is and we can try," Mrs. Morris said before showing Lucius and Narcissa to the nursery where the babies were.

Narcissa didn't even wait to be shown to the baby as she walked over to her and picked her up before beginning to walk around with the baby girl. Lucius rested a hand on her back as they were led to a more private room as Narcissa softly sang Scarborough Fair as she'd done with Draco when he'd been a baby.

Lucius sat down knowing that Narcissa had to do this part as the baby needed a mother's touch and he smiled as she undid her dress buttons a little and nestled the baby against her skin and she walked around with the baby girl. She was trying to calm her down, eventually managing to settle her a little. The baby kept crying so Narcissa picked up the bottle and sat down in the rocking chair before trying to feed the baby.

"Come on little one," she said softly, "latch onto the bottle. You need to," she said softly as she stroked the baby's cheek. The baby cried and wouldn't latch onto the bottle for a few more cries and then finally the baby latched onto the bottle.

"Well that's a start," Mrs. Morris said, "but she never normally latches on for too long," she sighed, "we just cannot figure out why that is," she said finally taking a seat and hoping that Narcissa may be able to get the baby to drink her milk.

The minutes passed slowly and everyone was wondering if the baby would finish the bottle or reject it. Narcissa was blocking everything out except the baby against her exposed breast and watching the milk slowly going down. It was so slow but the baby nearly made it to the bend before she moved her head away.

"Well I think she's had enough," Narcissa said softly as she placed the bottle down on the table.

"That's far more than she's been willing to drink," Mrs. Morris said, "that's a really good start and I'm hoping that this is a good sign for you both," she said.

"When we come back in a couple of days Lucius can try," Narcissa said, "we can't leave the little one too long before she starts to get hungry again." Mrs. Morris nodded before leaving the couple alone with the baby. They knew what to do after all and all were hoping that maybe this was a match that would work. Afterall it had been a promising start.
