Spyro guided Sheila where they left Flame after the red dragon attacked them. It had been a while and the day had advanced since they came in the Forgotten Realm. They encountered a few enemies patrolling on their way, but they quickly beat them and sent them in the sky.
"You see that tree. This is where my spell protects him," Zoe said.
Sheila quickly went towards it and asked, "You're okay Flame?" she partially disappeared into the illusion. It wasn't long before she came out and sighed, "He's gone."
"R-really?" Spyro asked as he sniffed the air. He did notice the stench of Flame, but it was barely present. He couldn't track the red dragon even if he wanted too, "S-sorry. I cannot track him," he apologised.
"It's okay. Flame is responsible… when he wants to be," the kangaroo looked at them and hoped to the right, "Come. I'll show you our secret base. We might not be a lot, but maybe Flame returned there."
Sparx buzzed that he might recovered and continued to search for the eggs, if he didn't return there.
"Maybe," she shook her head and told the trio, "Anyway. I have to know how many of us got away from The Sorceress when we attacked her warriors."
They followed her.
Chapter 31: The Resistance
The group reached a small plain where only grass and flowers were at sight. Nothing would tell them that a resistance group might act or plan.
The purple dragon was expecting them to be sneaky about it, not out in the open like that. Even the bad guys had a place to hide when they plotted something, "You sure this is the right place? Nothing is telling me, secret good guy base or something."
Zoe agreed, "Is there some magic used to hide it?"
Sheila carefully looked around if there were any bad guys who were ready to attack them or spying at them, "No. Magic is mostly used by The Sorceress and her apprentice. No one else can really use it here," she tapped the group a few times. She approached a flower and pulled it.
The flower stretched instead of snapping up. A sound of something echoed under them. A few seconds later, a hatch opened.
Sparx commented that the field hid everything.
"Cool," Spyro said with star on his eyes.
"Let's go. Quickly," she hopped in.
The other three quickly followed her as they went inside.
The kangaroo closed the entrance and waved at them to follow her. They walked into the corridor. They could hear the echoes of the wings of the fairy and the dragonfly.
The purple dragon said, "I wonder if Hunter is okay. Since we are in here, he won't find us."
"Hunter?" Sheila asked.
"Yeah. He's my friend who came with me and Sparx when we followed the thief. I wonder if he's going to be okay," he asked to himself as he sighed.
"If he doesn't attack anyone, he might avoid big problem. There isn't a lot of them here. The Rhynocs are numerous the closer you get to The Sorceress castle," the kangaroo replied as they reached a door.
The purple dragon knew they were a few people behind it. He found two familiars allies he made in Avalar. He couldn't believe they were there.
When Sheila opened the door, the purple dragon saw the two who had a familiar scent.
A young human kid with pale skin, blue eyes and short blond hair looked at him. He wore a white kimono with a black belt. His small cap with a propeller on it, "Spyro!"
The young human girl by his side turned toward his direction. She had pale skin like him, long blond hair that spiraled on the side and blue eyes. She wore the same thing than the other one, except for the cap, "It is him."
"You know him?" Sheila asked.
"Of course, they know me. Greta. Handel, what are you doing here?" the purple dragon gazed at the last one on the side.
"We came here on a secret mission with Agent Zero and our friend here," Greta replied before her brother.
On the corner, there was someone else wearing a purple cloak with a huge hood hid its face. It had an arm covered with bandages that was tainted with dry blood. The owner took off its hood, revealed a female human with long black hair and brown eyes, "My name is Emilie."
"I'm Spyro. This is Zoe and my best friend here is Sparx," the dragon shook his head and asked, "What are you doing here? Is this your realm too?"
Emilie replied, "No. We are not from this realm."
Sheila explained, "Those are three of the four humans who came to help us saving the dragon eggs. When we learned about their plan, we needed as much help as we could. We have no one who can do magic that well, so we asked outside of the realm."
"Our realm is pretty close to here," Greta replied.
"Really close," her brother added.
"Sheila and a few others asked our president for help and he agreed," the adult human replied.
"We came here to save the dragon eggs," Handel told him.
"Mister president sent us on a mission to save them," his sister added.
"You came to help my siblings. Thank you," he bowed to them.
"You're siblings?" Emilie asked.
The young purple dragon explained everything that happened before he came here.
"Another reason to help you," the twin siblings declared.
"We are friends," the young boy added.
Sparx sighed with some relief that they had more allies there. He remembered his best friend commenting that they were funny friends.
"What's a president?" Zoe asked.
"He's the ruler of our realm," the humans replied simply.
"Anyway. Time to tell you a little more about what happened," Sheila said. Then she realised something and asked, "Did Flame passed here?"
"No," they replied.
The kangaroo was nervous now. She didn't know where he was. She knew the young red dragon might be in trouble.
Zoe decided to ask the question that the dragon avoided to ask, "What happened to your shoulder? I can heal you," she showed her wand.
"Won't refuse this. Got a Rhynocs horn on my shoulder right after I sent the dragon eggs away from them."
"And you put a spell to prevent them for using magic to teleport them elsewhere?" the fairy asked as she healed her arm.
"Yeah."
"Why didn't you use your magic to heal yourself?" Spyro asked.
"Doesn't work on the caster," the woman replied.
"I'm surprise that a human can use magic. I thought you couldn't and focused on technology," Zoe commented from what she heard by other fairies.
"That's not completely true. Most humans cannot use magic. Only a few like me. Our president really doesn't like The Sorceress, so he sent me here to save the eggs," Emilie answered.
"I'm still really grateful. Sorry for this. Anyway. There is a lot that happened when the eggs came and we should tell you about it," Sheila decided to move on to the important matter.
The purple dragon nodded.
Sparx was curious about it. He buzzed the question of how they managed to do it.
The kangaroo replied, "We had an opportunity. Thanks to Agent Zero, Handel and Greta, they managed to find out where they would come back with the dragon eggs."
The two young humans proudly smiled.
"It was mostly me," the boy began.
"No! It was me who heard everything," the girl replied.
The two siblings couldn't reach an agreement. Emilie sighed and asked Sheila to move on.
"Okay, here's what happened," she began to explain everything.
Yesterday
Sheila observed the field covered with holes with a binocular. Others by her side were also observing it. The three humans were preparing their secret agent gadget while the last one prepared her wand.
Flame was by her side and asked, "Why could they bring up dragon eggs from those holes? I am the last one, right?"
"Not from what The Sorceress said. Maybe they were more they couldn't take," Agent Zero replied. He raised his finger, "They are more dragons around. I met one in Avalar."
"You sure about it?" Agent 9 asked.
The tall human gazed at the monkey and nodded positively, "Yes. We met him We are secret agents and spying on enemies is a part of our mission."
"I just want to shoot them all," the monkey replied.
"I wonder where they came from," another one commented.
"The dragon name is-" Handel was cut.
"Not now," her sister cut him.
"Looks like they got many dragon eggs once again," Sheila commented.
"Yeah. They won't get a single one to the sorceress this time," Flame declared before looking at the group, "Let's go."
They approached the Rhynocs coming out of the holes with dragon eggs in their hands. It wasn't too long before they brought all of the eggs.
The Rhynocs nodded when the spellcaster came with the last egg, "Okay. We can close the hole and bring them to-"
"No way!" the young red dragon yelled.
The thieves turned towards someone coming towards them.
She walked in front of the other thieves, holding her wand towards the new comer, "Who are you?"
He came out in clear sight, making the thieves and her nervous. He gazed down at them and frowned, "You won't let the Sorceress get away with those eggs."
Sheila came to his side, "Looks like ambush is out of the plan," she sighed.
The spellcaster casted something at them, but Emilie came in front of the group and countered with a shield.
"Now's our chance!" the kangaroo said.
They charged together and fought the many Rhynocs.
Present Time
"And the battle didn't go as well as we hoped. She has been hurt by one of those Rhynocs horns," she concluded her story.
"It was their general Demitrious. He is a dangerous one," Emilie replied. She sighed, "Be glad he didn't let out his beast."
"We are," Sheila replied. She sighed, "I lost Flame somewhere. Looks like he was busy saving the eggs by himself while I was arrested and put in a cage. I'm not the only one thought. Some of us like Agent 9 has been captured and a few others."
"We can help!" Handel and Greta declared.
"We need to organise everything if we want to help anyone," Sheila declared. She looked at everyone and sighed, "And we will need to split up. The eggs are everywhere and we need to find them quickly."
The young dragon gazed at them humans, "Thanks for helping Sheila before. That evil Sorceress didn't get my siblings," he gazed at his dragonfly who pushed towards something with an obvious answer, "I really want… I still need your help to save my siblings. I need all the help to save all of them," he raised his chest as he declared his mission.
The two children replied, "Of course."
Handel repeated his earlier statement, "You are our friend."
"And stealing babies is really evil," Greta added.
Emilie smiled, "You can count on me. My arm still hurt, but I won't have problem using my magic now."
"Thank you all," the purple dragon was glad to have friends and allies. Even if he might be able to do it on his own, they were too many eggs still in danger everywhere in that realm. It wasn't like his dads turned into crystals, it was innocent little brother and sisters in grave danger. If they came out of their eggs, they wouldn't be able to fight back like his dads.
Sheila said, "And now, we need to split into groups in the different locations."
"Me, Greta and Handel will go to the Midway Garden. It is a large homeworld of the realm and the three of us can focus there for now," the woman suggested.
"They are four homeworld Spyro. I will continue to search for Flame here and save the eggs."
"Where should I go?" the purple dragon asked.
The kangaroo thought and sighed, "The third Homeworld isn't accessible form here."
"It is from Midway garden, but we heard the portal is currently malfunctioning," Greta told them.
"It's not going anywhere," Handel said.
The purple dragon sighed.
"You can help me here. It will go faster to search everywhere," the kangaroo suggested.
"We will be with you Spyro," Zoe told him. She went to the humans, "If you find any eggs, I can use my magic to bring them back to Dragon Realm, away from the Sorceress hands for good."
"We will bring them to safety!" the two young humans nodded at the fairy.
"I'll send them to you with my magic," the adult human replied.
Sparx reminded his friend that Hunter might still be around.
"Yeah. I'll find Hunter and search for the eggs," Spyro replied.
"We will split up since you can fight pretty well, I believe," Sheila commented.
"Of course. He fought many monsters in Avala0 realm. He is a hero there," Greta added, inflating the ego of the purple dragon.
Sparx warned his friend not to let it go over his head and crossed his arms.
"It's okay. I'm in control," he said with a bit of a snub voice.
"Good to know, thought you are young," Sheila commented. She shook her head, "Anyway, it's time to go and save dragon eggs!"
"Yeah," the group said as they went on with her.
The group split up. Spyro felt a surge of confidence in himself with people by his sides.
