Come Monday morning Paul was terrified to actually go to work as he had to make the call that involved speaking to her Psychologist and hoping she didn't pass him around five different departments or make him wait a week for a response.

The first time he saw Jess he wasn't surprised that she beckoned him over. "Can I help you?"

"Did it trigger any memories?" That was Jess' main hope for the iPad; it triggered some of her memories.

With a heavy sigh his shoulders sank, "I wish. She is very interested in finding out about the business though so now I have to call the hospital and ask if there are any negatives to me contacting them and trying to set up a meeting for her to tour it or something. Wish me luck."

"Good luck. I am sure that you don't need it but good luck all the same."

Biting the bullet when he returned to his room he called the hospital and left a message for the Psychologist and now he had to await her reply.

The end of the day came and he still hadn't heard anything so he went home with a heavy heart knowing that Stephanie wouldn't be terribly happy.

As he put the key in his front door to open it his cell phone began to ring, fearing he would have to go back to the office he put his bag down and answered it. "Paul Levesque speaking."

"Mr Levesque it is Nadine, you left a message for me this morning regarding my client Stephanie McMahon."

Switching his bag to under his other arm he held his phone to his ear with his shoulder so that he could open the door. "Good evening Nadine, you're working late."

"I had some personal things to handle first thing so I said I would balance it out by working later so not really. What is it that I can do for you tonight?"

"I don't know how this will go down but my friend did this iPad of information for Stephanie, so that she had a reference and could keep looking at it to try and help her remember things. Something that has come up as a result is her parent's company and she really wants to visit. Would it be wise to visit or should I put it off for a while?"

She didn't even need to delve deep in to her files to find the details because she remembered this case so well and although she hadn't seen her in two weeks because she wanted to make sure that she settled in first she didn't feel an unnecessary rush to see her before she gave advice. "First tell me how she is coping with things and is she remembering anything?"

Moving through the house he wanted to make sure the conversation was semi private so headed to the kitchen and shut the door behind him. "For the most part she is coping okay, she is determined to try and be 'normal', whatever that is."

"Do you think it would benefit her to learn more about her parent's business?"

"Well . . ." He had to really think on that for a minute. "Her parent's bodies have just been released for burial so I guess knowing more about them would really help her possibly."

Flipping through her diary to find the entry for Stephanie's next appointment and not finding one her response was a simple 'hmm' as she moved around her desk seeing if it was written down on a piece of paper to be put in the diary and it had been forgotten. The paper to real diaries was being able to have it at hand always without messing around but the negative to it was if you do forget it then you find you have to remember to put entries in when you do have it again. "I will agree to the visit as long as you arrange her next appointment with me right now and you go to see the business between now and then. I don't want to risk giving you the go ahead and you not being confident in having professional help to fall back on should you absolutely need it."

"Okay fine, if that is all that it takes." Before he ended the call he arranged the next appointment for Stephanie and then put his phone away.

Stephanie was sure that she heard the door open but when nobody appeared in the doorway it made her think that she was losing her mind which scared her a little, she had already been having random flashbacks that she told nobody about as they seemed connected to the plane crash.

When Paul arrived in the doorway she jumped, it was the last thing that she was expecting. "Where did you come from?"

"The kitchen, I was taking a call and didn't want to be rude by appearing and telling you to be quiet." He had seen her jump and felt guilty but wasn't sure exactly how to play it off with her so ignored it.

"I don't make that much noise do I? Was it an important call?"

"Please, you're like the quietest person I have ever met. I was more worried about imposing on you and being a boring distraction as I wasn't sure how long the call would last. I did get some potentially good news from it though so it was worth taking."

Smiling she was happy for him that the call was important but she was having a rough day and could use a hug right about now.

The smile he got from her was the fakest smile she had given him in quite a while so gently flopping down on to the couch beside her he rested his arm on the back of the couch. "So how was your day?"

There was something about having him back home for the day that relaxed her so she found herself leaning against him. "It was okay I guess. I looked at more of the iPad until it stopped working and then put the television on."

"It stopped working? Do you want me to look at it for you?"

"Yes please. There isn't a rush though; you deserve to be able to relax tonight."

Paul suspected he knew what was wrong with it so it wouldn't take him long anyway. "Don't worry, I will take a quick look and if I can't figure it out I will set it aside and look at it in the morning before work."

"Okay, thank you."

Carefully leaning forward he picked up the iPad from the coffee table and tried to turn it on but as he had suspected it had run out of battery. "I can fix this no problem." Wrapping his arm around her shoulder as he leaned back on the couch and she leaned back against his side. "I was thinking of trying some of that ice cream Jess brought over after dinner, what do you think?"

"Can we try a few?" She didn't know if there was a few but the more the better.

"Oh God, Jess has turned you in to a monster." Laughing at the thought of actually telling Jess that he really needed to get a start on dinner. "I will go and start on dinner before we both starve to death and then you can have all of the ice cream I have."

"What is for dinner?"

"At this moment I have no idea but I will figure something out when I get to the kitchen. Can I bring you a drink whilst you wait?"

She felt bad enough that he was cooking for her after a long day at work without making him her slave. "No, I'm okay thanks."

When he took the iPad to charge it for Stephanie he also took off the contact details for the guy that Jess had been in touch with at the parents' business as this was a conversation he wanted to have without her anywhere around.

Leaving the freshly charged iPad on the coffee table Paul went to make sure that she was okay as he heard something come crashing down the stairs but as he walked out of the lounge the first thing he saw was a crutch. "Do I even want to ask?"

"It ran away from me. We had an argument about how much it is supporting me."

He laughed as he picked the crutch up and watched her as she shuffled down the stairs on her backside before he helped her up and handed her back the crutch. "And who do you think won that argument?"

"Definitely the crutch. Don't look so sad, I will get my revenge and it will soon beg for mercy."

Trying not to laugh he ushered her towards the kitchen. "Come on you. Before anybody is begging for mercy I need to get you breakfast as I need to leave for work."

She felt bad that he was putting himself under more pressure when it felt like he needed to leave. "If you need to go early it's okay, just put a bowl on the table and I'll be good."

"And I'm good. I don't have to leave for like twenty minutes. Let's get your breakfast started and I can make you some toast too today."

Once he had fed Stephanie and dumped the dishes in the sink Paul made sure to tell her that the iPad was on the coffee table before he headed to work.

Slipping in to his office whilst everybody else was preoccupied with other things he pulled the paper from his jacket pocket and placed it on the desk in front of him, there was no way of knowing what sort of reaction he would get and whether he would laugh him out of existence until he bit the bullet and called him so he picked up the phone.

Thoroughly frustrated by life Anthony found himself sat at his desk at eight in the morning trying to do the job of both of his former bosses and his own. The first problem was before half past eight, the first phone call was before nine so all in all he was pretty done with the day before it even began.

When what he could only bring himself to describe as his temporary Secretary who had actually been Vince's Secretary rang through and said that there was somebody on the line who wanted to speak to him but they had a strange request it both intrigued and scared him because it could very well be something he didn't want or need to hear right now. Ultimately he wouldn't know who it was or what they wanted unless he took the call so he told her to put it through and said a silent prayer as he waited.

His first meeting was half past nine so Paul had decided to bite the bullet and speak to whoever was in charge of the business in Vince's untimely demise as they were the only person who could truly give him an answer to his question. As he waited for the call to be put through or to leave a message he started absently fiddling with the papers on his desk.

"Good morning Anthony Doyle speaking. How may I help you?"

"Uh." The voice felt like it came out of nowhere and threw him completely for a loop but he quickly pulled himself together. "Sorry, I wasn't expecting to speak with you. My name is Paul Levesque and I have what can only be described as a really strange request for you."

Any time his day started with a strange request, which was very irregular, it was not a good thing but it never failed to make him want to hear what they had to say. "Go on, I'm all ears."

"Okay so I guess you could call me Stephanie McMahon's personal assistant right now and she is very interested in coming to see what the business her parents own, or owned, is like."

Anthony had known Stephanie since she was a little girl and his heart broke to hear that her parents were dead and she may not even make it. If he was honest he had completely failed at keeping track of how she was doing as he was so busy so he instantly felt bad at not knowing exactly what the reasoning behind it all was. "I'm sorry but I am confused. The last I heard about Stephanie was that she may not even make it but I have been so busy I just haven't even thought about updating myself and now I feel terrible."

"Don't feel bad, I'm sure that you're very busy running the company and all."

"Well yes but there is no excuse to not check up on her in like months, she is my boss after all. Anyway, I previously cleared my schedule on Friday to do paperwork but I am more than happy for you guys to come in instead of me doing paperwork and I'll show you around or whatever she wants/needs. How does that sound?"

"Are you sure that you shouldn't actually do the paperwork?" As a boss himself he knew that when you set time aside for paperwork it was a nightmare to be interrupted.

"It's fine. I set aside the whole day but really I only need a few hours really, I just wanted a quiet day for a change so I am more than happy to set aside a few hours for her, or both of you depending on the exact situation."

"It will be the both of us; Stephanie isn't quite mobile enough to be out by herself. What time would you like us to come by?"

"How about we go with ten? I can do some paperwork before you arrive and then I won't be lying about why I blocked the day off to do it."

Chuckling he could agree to that, it should be possible to get Stephanie out of the house to be there at that time. "Sounds like a plan. I will see you on Friday, thank you."

Just as he ended the call Paul's office door opened and Jess walked in. "I bring you coffee."

"You my darling are my saviour. I don't suppose that has alcohol in it does it?" After the phone call he was feeling a strong desire to drink, the thought of confronting Stephanie's past terrified him.

The behaviour wasn't normal for her friend and boss but the tension in his face told her everything she needed to know about his current mental state. "I don't have any on me right now but I could go and get you some alcohol at lunch if you are that desperate for it?"

"If I could drink what I want and be able to drive home I would take you up on that offer." He sighed heavily and the silence hung thick in the air as she placed the coffee on his desk. "I'm taking Stephanie to see her parents' business on Friday, I am terrified."

"Terrified because she doesn't know anything or terrified that she will remember and scare herself or something?"

"A bit of both really. Tell me it will all be okay please."

Jess moved back across the room and walked around the desk and hugged her best friend. "It will be okay and if it's not then I will be right there to give you both a hug and make it better."

He was so happy that he had such a good friend, he couldn't have done any of this without her and he hoped that she knew that. He was about to tell her when somebody screamed her name from outside and she had to race out to find out who it was and why they were screaming for her.

It had been a rough day at work for Paul as he had been shouted at a few times because people were apparently unable to read so walking through the front door to just the sound of the television was exactly what he needed.

Unfortunately when he walked in to the lounge he was faced with the sight of his sister sat on the couch talking with Stephanie. "Ugh, what are you doing here?"

"Hmm, let me think about that one." She paused briefly before she smirked. "I came to see you, duh."

"But why? What exactly do you want that you have dropped in on your way home from work and disturbed Stephanie for? How did you get in anyway? I never told Stephanie to let you in."

It was Stephanie's turn to speak up now to prevent arguments. "She looks just like you so when the doorbell rang and she said she was your sister I trusted her as you can see that you look similar."

"Well that is an insult if ever I heard one. I don't want to look that much like my brother thank you very much."

Paul rolled his eyes. "Well I don't want to look that much like you either. So anyway, I need to do dinner so what can I help you with?"

Her brother looked stressed so she wanted to actually be a good sister for once. "I'll help you with dinner and we can catch up if you want?"

"Sure, if it will make you happy." Getting up he made his way towards the kitchen closely followed by his sister. When he reached the kitchen he went straight to the fridge searching for something to cook for dinner eventually settling on the leftovers. "So what exactly did you want?"

"I genuinely came to check up on you but right now I am more concerned by the fact that you look really really stressed. Anything I can help you with?"

What could he say to make his sister go away apart from the truth? "I am stressed. Stephanie wants to go and see the business that her parents owned so I have been organising that and I spoke to the guy who is running it today to get it all set up."

"And? You can't be this stressed because it all went well." Nothing about his reaction made sense so she distracted herself during the wait for the truth by helping take off the tops of the leftovers whilst she waited for him to actually make sense.

Turning on the cooker he then pulled a tray from the cupboard along with a couple of saucepans. "You'd really think not right? Unfortunately I am. What if it triggers bad memories for her? What if she remembers her family and it really upsets her?"

"What if she remembers them and it comforts her?"

"What if she builds it all up in her head and ends up let down by it?"

"What if you don't tell her about it until you arrive in the car park?" As much as she has never agreed with this situation she was not about to put even more work on her brother. "If she doesn't know when and where you're going she can't stress out about it or build it up in her head."

Staring at his sister he was shocked that she had a good idea. "Did those words really just come out of your mouth? Are you feeling okay?"

"Rude." Throwing a loose lid at his head she was vaguely offended. "You know that's offensive right? I am only trying to help your grumpy ass."

"I know. I was just shocked that you were offering a helpful and useful solution and not some snarky response about how I should have thought about that before I took this on."

"Eh. I'm not going to disagree that I do actually think that but there is no point arguing about it as it isn't going to change your mind and it really won't do any good will it?"

"Well no but it doesn't normally stop you from saying it." Lynn took a deep breath. "I promise not to get on your back about her though, I will just be nice."

She stayed for a little longer helping him out before she made an exit and headed home before their dinner was ready.

Thursday evening they were sat down at dinner when Paul decided to approach the subject of the meeting but without telling her exactly what was going on. "So I've got a couple of hours free in the morning and wondered if you fancied venturing out somewhere with me?"

"We could I guess but are you sure you want to be seen out with me?"

"Oh please, there is nothing to be ashamed of. So do you fancy it? I'm not telling you where we are going though."

She couldn't remember the last time that she actually left the house so it would be fun, hopefully. "Okay, we can do that if you're sure."

Getting her to agree to go out without telling her where they were going was the first part and the one he was worried about because he was sure she would ask questions so to get past that was one weight off his mind but there was the entire visit to go yet. "We have to leave at half past nine in the morning so I'll wake you up okay?"

It sounded like he had it all figured out so she just nodded. "Sure, whatever you think is best." As intrigued as she was by what he had planned and where she would be going she knew there was no point in asking as she wouldn't remember anyway so roll on the morning.
