CHAPTER 02
Where is Eames? I mean Alex?
Margareth Eames, sister of Eames, watched Goren pacing and waving her hands in the living room.
Andy the little boy and Eames's nephew entered the room, and as soon as he saw Goren, he rushed to his side, patting his leg.
The little boy of all the height of his seven years came to the size of Goren.
Goren knelt down by the little boy, stroking his blond curls.
Goren knew Andy well, he was the little boy Eames carried for his sister. He always remembered the first time; or he had seen her in Eames' arms.
She had insisted on who wears it, but this tiny being, he had been afraid of breaking it. But he had given in, as he always did in the face of Eames's stubbornness.
Eames deserved to be a mother, the sight of her holding the baby had been an eye opener for him. This scene had melted her completely, letting her heart open.
At the sight of the little boy, his heart sank.
He reminded her so much of Eames at times.
Both by the blondness of her hair and the brown of her eyes.
- Bobby?
Bobby gave the little boy a tender smile.
The three of them remembered times spent at Eames's and sometimes outside.
Moments of pure pleasure, where he no longer felt alone. On the contrary, he had felt himself revived.
- I came to see your mother!
Andy pouted. So he hadn't come for him.
Goren chuckled at the little boy's sulky expression. Andy glared at him.
No, but he was laughing at me or what?
My God, that look that shot him was all Eames!
- I also came to see you!
The little boy smirked, his eyes shining with excitement.
Andy took his hand, guiding him to the chair, forcing him to sit up.
He didn't want to sit down, he was way too upset and he needed to move.
But to the little boy's determination, he gave in.
Andy came over to sit on his lap.
Margareth watched this scene tenderly under his eyes.
Alex had run away from his partner, when there was a very strong bond between them.
It was different from what she had had with Joe, but it was just as strong.
Alex had explained to him the reasons for this leak.
But Margareth had told her that was not the right solution and that the more she ran the more she would suffer.
Margareth knew immediately that Goren would come to see her as soon as he heard of the girl's escape. And it was not missing, he was there in front of her, asking her where she was.
She had made a promise to Alexandra not to tell him where she was.
But he looked so desperate, so tired.
As if he hadn't slept in several days.
She didn't feel the courage to hide it from him, but she had promised him and so ...
A small idea crossed his mind.
- Alex is going to visit our father every Thursday! Goren looked at her with Persian eyes. I can't tell you more.
She hadn't broken her word because she knew Goren had already accompanied her sister to her father's house.
So that made sense.
But she knew that since it was her father's house, he wouldn't dare go home, even if her father knew him, but that he could stay outside and wait for the girl to run away. And he might pass it off as a coincidence, if he took it right.
At his father's house every Thursday ...
How hadn't he thought of that earlier?
When it was so easy!
He had already accompanied him on several occasions.
But he couldn't go visit Johnny Eames, it would seem weird, see weird, and it would even be suspicious.
Margareth remembered what Alex had told her one evening when they returned from visiting their father's house. That day she had been there with Goren.
Their father had alluded to little children he was still expecting from Alex. That she would rather have a gun than give it to him.
Even his own father had noticed this invisible bond between them. Because knowing the rascal, he had made it clear in this way that he would like his little girl to be with him.
Johnny Eames was very fond of Goren.
He often talked about him at meals, often making Alexandra uncomfortable.
And the evening when everything had started between them, the young lady in the morning had only one idea in mind to run away from him as quickly as possible;
Something she had done perfectly.
But Alex had been scared, scared of how she felt. Fear of getting attached and of suffering again.
Afraid of losing him like she had lost Joe.
This she couldn't imagine, it had been too much pain and she didn't want to relive it.
Margareth was so sorry for her sister.
She forbade herself the right to happiness, when she deserved it.
Alex had his heart on his sleeve, kindness itself.
Thanks to her, she had had her baby boy Andy.
How many sister would have done that?
So if she could give fate a little push, a little push that could make her sister finally happy and well she would!
She was ready to take Alex's wrath.
