Drew let out a loud sigh and winced a little at the continuing pain in his head. He knew he needed to talk to Jo, but after the emotional encounter with Sam just now, he wasn't sure he was up for it.

"Jo, do we…."

"Drew, I'm sorry," Jo interrupts him quickly. "I know that you just had a talk with Sam and that you are probably very drained, but this can't wait. It's already waited way too long," Jo finished with urgency.

Drew looked over and saw the forlorn look on Jo's face and the tears welling up in her eyes. Jo was a pretty tough cookie, so for her to be almost in tears, he knew this had to be serious. He reached over to the coffee table and took a few more sips of water and a few more, slow deep breaths. He felt the pain in his head subside a little and decided he needed to let Jo continue with what she had to say.

He reached over and grabs Jo's hands and squeezes them slightly.

"Jo, what is it what's wrong? It's not like you to be so upset." Drew's concern for her was apparent in his voice.

Jo looks up slightly to meet Drew's eyes and carefully wipes a tear that began to fall. She hated seeming weak or unable to handle her emotions, it was a military thing, there is no room for crying. She chuckled to herself quietly when she had that thought.

She shifted on the cushion a little turning her body towards Drew somewhat, she took a deep breath in and let it out slowly.

"Do you remember, that little shack we used to rent in Cabo? You know, 'our place,' we used to go to every time we had extended leave?"

"Um, yeah, I think so. It was that little wooden shack basically right on the beach. There was a, uh tiki bar that we used to go to that was just down the beach from that place, right?" Drew pinched his eyes together a bit, recalling the memory.

Jo smiled and her heart fluttered, happy that he remembered their special place.

"Yeah, that's right. We used to walk the beach and end up down at that bar almost every night, drinking tequila and.."

"Throwing darts, at which, I'm pretty sure I kicked your ass." Drew leans over into Jo's shoulder smiling a wide smile and holding up his pointer finger.

"Ha ha, yeah, so there is ONE thing you are better at than me." Jo mocks. "We loved that little shack, we used to go down there and shut out the world. When we were there it was just you and me, being two crazy kids." Jo sweetly recalls.

Drew searches his memory to try and remember the last time he remembered being at the beach shack. He could tell it was important to him and Jo and he wanted to be able to relish in the memory with her. A flash quickly came to him of the two of them at the bar with a cake with sparklers in it and the room of people singing, "Happy Birthday."

"It was your birthday, right? The last time we were there?" Drew hesitantly offers.

Jo's face beams with joy that Drew remembered their special time.

"That's right, we were there on an extended leave, before you were set to go out on this bs goodwill mission to the middle east, where you were going to be escorting some state department guy around," she sarcastically replies.

"Oh yeah, I remember that, I really did not want to go on that mission, do you remember I almost lost rank I was fighting my CO on that one so hard."

Jo chuckles slightly and places her hand on Drew's knee.

"I remember, I was the one to talk you down and get you to relent. Now I wish….I wish that." Jo trails off quietly and gets a far-off look. She gets up and goes to stand by the open double doors. She breathes in a big breath of night air and crosses her arms across her body.

Drew stands up and walks over to stand behind her. He puts his hands on her shoulders and gently squeezes them.

"JJ, what is it, what has you so upset? You know you can tell me anything," Drew says calmly.

The emotion finally takes Jo over and she begins to sob. She turns around and buries her face in Drews shoulder and throws her arms around him.

Drew gently wraps his strong arms around Jo and begins to slightly sway. He caresses the back of her head and runs his fingers through a few strands of hair.

After a few minutes Jo lifts her head off of Drew's shoulder and swipes her hands across her cheeks.

"Oh my gosh, I am so sorry. I didn't mean to lose it like that," she whispers apologetically.

"JJ, you never have to apologize to me for losing it. You and I have been through too much. You amaze me that you don't lose it more than you do. Let's go back and sit on the couch." Drew replies as he guides her to take a seat on the cushion.

Before taking the seat next to her, he pours her a glass of water.

"Here drink this." Drew insists offering her the cool liquid.

"You don't have anything stronger?" Jo replies jokingly.

"Hey J, why don't you stop stalling and just tell me what's going on."

Jo looks up at Drew sheepishly. He always could tell when she was deflecting.

"Damn, why do you have to know me so well?" she complains.

"You should have been here a month ago. I wouldn't have known you at all." Drew laughs. "Now out with it," he chides.

Jo takes a big sip of the water and slowly places the glass down on the coffee table.

She looks into Drew's eyes and grabs his hands.

"I am so happy that you remember our time at our beach shack on my birthday. That was a very special time for us. We were so happy and didn't have a care in the world." Jo recalls joyfully. "We had taken many trips to that rickety old beach shack but that one was particularly special."

"Yeah, it was your birthday, I remember." Drew quips.

"That's not why it was special, this is." Jo's voice cracks as she pulls out an envelope from her pocket and hands it to Drew.

"What's this?"

"Open it Drew," Jo urges.

Drew takes the small white envelope and peels back the flap. He pulls out a small square of paper and flips it over. He sees a grainy picture of a blob. He has no real recollection of seeing something like this before but it seems familiar.

"Wait, is this? Were you? Do we? Do we have a child?" Drew squeaks out confused.

"That is a picture of our son." Jo flatly replies.

"Our son? What? Why are you just telling me this now? Where is he? Why isn't he with you? What is going on Jo?" Drews voice begins to get louder and more annoyed. He can't understand why Jo would keep something so monumental from him. He quickly darts up from the sofa and begins to pace back and for behind it.

Jo gets up and goes over to meet him. She reaches out for his arm and pulls on it a bit to get him to stop.

"Drew, just listen please. There is more to the story." Jo implores him.

"Go on." Drew growls.

"I found out I was pregnant about a month or so after you left for the humanitarian mission. I was so happy and I thought you would be too. I couldn't wait to tell you, so that's why I was meeting up with you in DC. Do you remember? When you got back from the mission, you had to layover in DC for a couple of days before heading back to San Diego?"

Drew searches his memory to see if he can recall. He quickly realizes that is the same time that he had met up with Kim at the bar and Peter's guys took him. The realization of what occurred washed over Drew and he got a sad look on his face. He grabbed Jo's hand and led them back over to the couch.

"I was going to meet up with you. We made plans to go to dinner that night." Drew recalls softly.

"Yeah, we were supposed to have dinner, but." Jo gloomily replies.

"I never showed." Drew finishes the thought.

"No." Jo fights back tears.

"That was the night I was taken. I stupidly met up with Kim earlier in the night. She called me and Peter was there."

"Wait! Kim was there?!" Jo cries out in disbelief.

"Yeah, had I not told you that yet?" Drew says perplexed.

"No. But that makes so much sense now."

"What makes sense?"

"After you didn't show up for dinner I was walking back to my hotel. I 'ran,' into Kim in the lobby. She gave me some dumb excuse about being there for a conference, but later I realized that wasn't true."

"How, how did you realize it wasn't true?"

Jo moved in closer to Drew and leaned her head against his shoulder. She laid her hand in his lap and he gently grabbed it and held it.

"Later that night I was getting ice in the hotel when I felt a sharp pain in my neck. Someone had drugged me. I tried to fight them but I couldn't I barely had the strength to walk and the person was shoving me and I couldn't do anything. Next thing I knew this person was basically dragging me to the stairs and they," Jo's voice waivered and she let out a little sigh.

Drew squeezed her hand a little tighter and pulled her in close with his other hand.

"They threw me down the stairwell," Jo recounts.

"What? Oh my God Jo. I'm so sorry."

"It was her, Drew, I know it was, but I can't prove it. I was pretty out of it and she was wearing a scarf around her face so the security camera's couldn't get a good look at her, but I know it was her," Jo seethes.

"That bitch! It's not enough she was in on my abduction, she has to throw you down the stairs too!" Drew cries out angrily. "Why are you so sure it was her, though?"

"Because, the next morning when I woke up in the hospital, she was there, in my room. She said she was the one to find me and wanted to make sure I was okay, but she was acting very odd. Not to mention her and I hadn't seen each other since she left San Diego and we weren't even on speaking terms then."

"Yeah, I remember that," Drew recalls. "Jo, I'm so sorry that happened to you and that I wasn't there to help you," Drew lifts his head and places his hands against Jo's face. He rubs his thumb along her cheek trying to offer comfort. "But, you still haven't answered my question. Where is our son?" Drew continues.

Jo swipes a few strands of hair out of her face. She looks at Drew in his piercing blue eyes and takes a deep breath in.

"Drew, I'm so sorry but, but I lost him. That night. It was either the drug or the fall or both but, he didn't survive," Jo begins to sob uncontrollably.

Drew shocked and dismayed at what he had just heard, threw his arms around Jo tightly. He began rocking her back and forth and fighting off tears in his own eyes. He couldn't believe he and Jo had made a child and he never even knew it. That she had to go through this all alone and then for him to have just disappeared, he couldn't believe all she had to endure while he was away.

"JJ, oh my God, I am so sorry, I'm so sorry I wasn't there. I'm sorry you had to go through all of this alone," Drew consoles her, while he rubs her arm.

Jo slowly tries to regain her composure and lifts her head slightly. She stares off as she recounts more details for Drew.

"I had just found out what the sex of the baby was, right before coming to meet you. I was so excited to tell you we were having a son. I was hoping you would be okay with naming him Dekhen, after my brother. I had so many plans…you know, our son would be about the same age as Danny. You are so good with him and Scout too," Jo says with a slight smile.

"Jo, I'm so sorry, here I am shoving in your face this life I have with these kids and you.."

Jo cuts him off quickly.

"Drew, it's not your fault. There was no way you could have known. Besides, I like seeing 'Daddy Drew Cain.' It makes me sure that you would have loved and wanted our baby just as much." Jo cheerfully responds.

Drew flashes a half smile and rolls his eyes a little.

"Are you kidding? Of course, I would have loved and wanted our son. Our little Dekhen." Drew quips as he looks at the sonogram picture again.

"You can keep that one. I have my own that I keep with me."

Drew looks over to Jo with a puzzled look.

"You keep the picture of our baby with you?"

"Yes, of course I do. That way I feel like I always have a piece of you with me." Jo says slyly and flashes Drew a smile.

"Uh Jo, I think we should talk about, about us." Drew suddenly felt the need to make sure Jo didn't get the wrong idea. He still needed to figure out what he felt, what he wanted. He also realized that his head was pounding again, this time the worst ever.

Jo quickly looked down and began fidgeting with her fingers. She got up and grabbed her glass from the coffee table and headed over to pour herself some more water. She was glad her back was facing Drew at the moment so he couldn't see the pain in her eyes. She knew Drew had feelings for Sam and they actually had a child together. Jo really didn't want to hear Drew go on about Sam any more so she figured she would just let him off the hook and excuse herself for the night. She had told him what she needed to tell him and she knew what she wanted. The rest was up to Drew. He needed to figure out what he wanted.

"Look Drew, it's late I think," Jo finally turned around to face Drew.

"Drew! Oh my God, Drew!" She cries out in panic.

Drew had slumped over on the sofa and was passed out. He was lying there so still Jo thought he might be dead. She reached over and put her fingers to his neck to check his pulse.

"Oh my God Drew, please don't be dead!"
