Chapter 2: Lift Off
Premise: The Blood Gulch Crew prepare to travel to the final frontier.
Within the caves of Blood Gulch, Sarge and Caboose were working to fix the bullhead that carried their friends, Team RWBY. The ship itself was torn in half, but both soldiers managed to get the ship back together, and were now finishing up the last touches.
Meanwhile, Grif and Simmons were watching nearby, bickering about their new mission.
"Are we seriously gonna have this conversation again?" said Simmons
"Come on dude." Grif said to him, "Brawler is the perfect name for the ship."
"You can't name it Grif." Simmon retorted, "We're only using it to get Donut and Lopez back, that's all."
"Please." Grif pleaded, "I'll let you ride shotgun."
"Deal." Simmons quickly answered
"Hey idiots!" Sarge shouted as he worked on the ship, "Get back up top! Go find us ammo we'll need on the mission!"
Back up top, Tucker and Church were looking over the large hole that was created by Team RWBY's ship.
"This has got to be the worst idea we've ever had." said Church
"Come on dude!" Tucker said to him, "This will be perfect! Besides, maybe we can actually pick up chicks in this!"
"Oh not this again." Church sighed, "What chicks can you pick up in that hunk of junk in the caves?"
"Any I want." Tucker answered
Just then, Doc and Sister showed up along with Grif and Simmons.
"We got ammo for everyone." Simmons announced, "Extra grenades, rockets, you name it."
"Are Sarge and Caboose finished yet?" Doc asked
"Almost." said Church, "Though I'm pretty sure they destroyed the ship in the process."
Suddenly, the sound of roaring engines were heard from within the caves. The bullhead came out of the hole in the ground, fully functioning, but slightly damaged as well. Overall, it looked fine.
Except for the name.
"Caboose!" Grif shouted at him
"Hello." Caboose replied from the bullhead
"I said, write the word 'Brawler' on the side of the ship!" Grif shouted at him
"Whoops, sorry." the blue soldier replied
"What's it say?" Tucker asked
Everyone looked at the side of the ship, instead of the word 'BRAWLER', Caboose wrote a different word on the side of the bullhead.
'PROWLER'
"Prowler…" Tucker muttered, "I kinda like it."
"Yeah, it's not bad." Simmons added
Girf sighed, "I have to admit, it sounds better."
"Excellent!" Sarge shouted as he climbed onto the top of the Prowler. Caboose followed by Caboose. Both of them were wearing navy blue sailor hats on top of their helmets.
"Time to christen this baby!" Sarge announced, "Which is why I have written a small speech for this occasion. I got it from a movie!"
Doc shook his head, "This'll be good."
Sarge proceeded to take out a small piece of paper, "Ahem, it's easy to grin; when your ship comes in; and you got the stock market beat…"
"Oh god…" Grif groaned
"...But the man worth while; is the man who can smile; when his shorts are too tight in his seat." Sarge ended
"Did you get that from Caddyshack?" Church asked him
"Shut up dirtbag."Sarge hissed before turning to Caboose, "Caboose! Do the honors!"
Caboose jumped off the ship and walked over the front, he then took out a pint bottle of Pepsi.
"By the power invested in this $5.00 pint of Pepsi, by the power of Church and Blood Valley! I hereby christen thee: Mr. Spaceship!"
Caboose proceeded to hit the side of the Prowler with the soda bottle, hoping that the bottle would break open upon impact. Instead it didn't.
"Caboose be careful!" Simmons warned him, "If you shake the bottle, the carbon in it will build up!"
But the blue soldier didn't pay attention to him, and continued to smack the pint against the ship.
"Caboose!" Church hissed
"Whoops, sorry." Caboose muttered before stopping
"Alright!" Sarge shouted, "All aboard!"
"Uhh...you sure that thing is safe?" Doc asked
"Yeah it looks like shit!" Tucker added
"Ah shut it you two." Sarge said to them, "We'll be fine. Besides our suits are pressurized, we'll survive in the cold vacuum of space...also because the ship ain't pressurized."
"Great that fills me with confidence." Grif muttered as he got on board
"Fire it up Grif!" Sarge ordered
Grif managed to get to the ship activated. Upon coming to life, the Prowler made a funny noise but was flying nonetheless. Grif then flew the ship up and out of the canyon and continued up.
As they climbed higher and higher into the sky, everyone began to feel the ship shake violently.
"Uh, Sarge…" Doc muttered nervously
"Uh oh." Sarge muttered, "It seems we forgot to adjust the ship to brake gravity."
"I swear to god, if we die because of your mechanical genius, Sarge. I'm gonna haunt your ass." Church threat him
"Ah can it." Sarge retorted
As the ship climbed even higher, it shook even more until it suddenly stopped. The Reds and Blues looked out too the darkness of outer space. With several stars visible.
"Neat." Caboose muttered
"Ok, I have to agree with Caboose on that one." Grif agreed
"It's empty." Sister spoke up, "Kinda like my a-"
"Ah! We don't need to know that." Grif cut her off
"But-"
"Ever."
"Alright can it." Sarge announced, "This is where Simmons said Donut and Lopez were."
"Did sir." Simmons suddenly correct him
"Did?" Sarge muttered, "What happened?"
"Well, I have good news and bad news." Simmons began, "The bad news is that we lost all power to the ship, so we're now adrift in the cold vacuum of space. While drifting towards that HUGE SPACE RIGHT IN FRONT OF US!"
Everyone looked out the viewport of the Prowler, and noticed three identical dagger-shaped spaceships. The Prowler itself was drifting closer and closer towards the one in the middle.
"And the good news?" Caboose asked very casually
"I managed to lock onto Donut's tracking device until it disappeared." Simmons replied, "He's on the ship we're headed towards."
"Excellent!" Sarge shouted, "Once we're on board, we'll find Donut and Lopez."
"Whoa whoa whoa, back the fuck up." Church spoke up, "Once we get on board, what are we gonna say to the crew? 'Excuse me assholes, but some of our men are on your ship. Mind if we take a look around and find them'. Does that sound fun to you!?"
"Hmm, well when you put it like that. It doesn't sound good." Sarge replied, "Anyone got other solutions?"
"We could find another way on board." Tucker suggested, "Like ditch the ship, let it land, and find a hatch that'll take us inside."
"Well, are suits are pressurized…" Simmons
"Great!" Caboose shouted next to the Prowler's door. He then smashed it open with his bare fist.
"No Caboose wait-AAAAHHHHHH!"
Once the door opened, the cold vacuum of space quickly pulled the Reds and Blues out of the ship. All while the Prowler continued its course toward the ship.
