Prologue 2: Fate Falls Where You Least Expect It
Disclaimer: I, OWN, NOTHING!
...
It was a bright and sunny day in the country of Japan, and in one city in particular, people and monsters of various shapes and sizes were conversing with each other, cars were driving by all the while, and most importantly...
"Extreme Sword Dragon attacks and finishes you!" A young kids in a playground full of kids declared.
"Not yet, I cast I've Seen Through Your Moves!, and stop the attack!" Another kid declared holding up a card.
Children and people all over were playing Buddyfight, the most popular card game in the world, not only for it's exciting games, but it's incredible ability to let monsters from other worlds travel to Earth and become buddies with humans.
And in a big stadium where buddyfights can be held, one was going on right now, and was now reaching it's conclusion.
A human hand wearing fingerless gloves came into sight holding a pair of yellow, black, and grey headphones, as the hand twirled the headphones around and placed them over the ears of a young boy.
The boy had spiky dual-colored hair that consisted of red bangs in front with a single spike standing up and curving backwards, and blue hair ending in a short ponytail in the back. His eyes were amber-orange, and he was wearing a red and white short-sleeved jacket with a pentagonal zipper over a dark blue long sleeved shirt, dark blue pants with folded pant legs, and red, blue, and yellow shoes, and on his left arm was a gold, black, and blue deck case attached to a metallic wristband with a blue core in it's center.
This was Yuga Mikado, the Ace of Games.
"Time to get serious, Garga!" Yuga declared, talking to a small dragon-like creature beside him.
"Of course, Yuga, send me in." The dragon-like creature responded.
The creature had a white face with fur on his back and head that gave him the appearance of a hedgehog, with an underbelly with a green gem on the middle of his belly, a pair of black horns on his forehead, another pair of green blue horns on the side of his head, pointing backwards and a short blue tail.
This was Deity Gargantua Dragon, otherwise known as Garga, the deity of combat and Yuga's buddy monster and partner in SD form.
"I buddycall Deity Gargantua Dragon to the right!" He held up a card covered in a white light and the card vanished, and as soon as it did, Garga leapt off of the area the two were standing on over to a pillar that was on their right side.
Garga was then enveloped in a large tornado that disappeared as quickly as it appeared, unveiling Garga in his true form.
Garga's true form has curved black upper horns turn dark green with a golden spike crown formation around his head. The two ruby red gems on his forehead and chest with the chest itself having red markings on it. He was wearing regal-looking blue and gold armor with sapphire linings, paired alongside matching and shimmering sapphire crystals in between the gold trim and blue part of his arm, knee and shoulder armor with the black scales going in between the tail armor. Two curved green spikes, one in each shoulder armor and two small ones on each foot armor. And what made him really stand out was the large collection of weapons that were hovering behind him in a wheel formation behind him, consisting of three swords, a trident, a war hammer, a long sickle, a scythe and a bayonet rifle with little dagger-like blades hovering over them.

"All are powerless before my blade!" Garga declared upon entering his true form.
"The buddygift from the call gives me one life point." Yuga declared.
Yuga Mikado: Life points: 4 + 1 = 5/Hand cards: 4/Gauge: 3 - 1 = 2
"Now I call Gardog to left." Yuga said as he took a card that was floating in front of him covered in a white light and tossed it to a pillar on his left side.
A light blue sigil appeared and disappeared quickly unveiling another monster, it was an average sized dog with mainly black/dark gray and white fur. It has cyan eyes, a white and blue mane, and blue spiky fur behind his leg joints, and was wearing gold armour with orange gems that goes from the base of his neck all the way to his tail.

"You simply need to howl, and I'll be there for you." Gardog said upon his arrival.
"Gardog's ability lets me put two cards into my gauge." Yuga explained as two lights from his deck case flew out of it and levitated by two other large cards that were completely cloaked in white light, and soon turned into cards exactly like the others.
Yuga Mikado: Life points: 5/Hand cards: 3/Gauge: 2 + 2 = 4
"Next up, I pay one gauge to equip Deity Dragon Blade, Garcutlass." He held up one other card from his hand and, in a short burst of light, turned into a large curved two-handed sword with purple fulling and a golden blade around it, a circular golden hole was near the handle of the blade with golden triangular points around it having tiny green jewel embedded into them, and a green jewel on the bottom of the handle.

"It's time to end this." Yuga said with confidence in his voice. "Garga, attack Armorknight Ogre in the center position." Yuga ordered.
"As you wish!" Garga responded as he raised his hands up and pointed all of his weapons at a blue ogre wearing brown battle armor standing on a center pillar on the other side of the stadium, he thrusted his hands forward and sent all of his weapons soaring towards the target monster, and slashing at it until it burst into orange cards.
"My center position is open." Yuga's opponent panicked with his hands on his head.
"And that's not all." Yuga smirked.
"Penetrate!" Garga declared as the swords continued going forward and slashed at the buddyfighter opposing Yuga, causing holographic slash marks to appear on his body until they suddenly faded away.

"Garga, Deity G-EVO, activate!" Yuga declared as he held up a card with his right hand while a card was added to his hand card from his wristband. "Change, Gargantua Dragon, "Cyclone Mode"!" He then threw the card at Garga and a tornado engulfed the Deity of Combat.
All of the sudden, the weapons levitating behind him flew away and were replaced by a wide array of swords of the same colors, which attached to his armor as extra armor, with the armor already on him turning white with two swords attaching to his back, and a lance appearing by him, which he grabbed and spun around quickly before thrusting it forward.

"Attack the fighter!" Yuga shouted.
"As you wish." Garga obliged, as he moved over the fighter so quickly neither player could see him clearly, and then started stabbing the opponent with his lance, making him cry out in pain.
Opponent: Life points: 6 - 2 = 4/ Hand cards: 2/Gauge: 2
"Double attack!" Garga shouted as his card appeared behind him in a sideways position before turning straight up, then to the sideways position again, providing the dragon with extra power, causing him to lunge at the opponent once again.
Opponent: Life points: 4 - 2 = 2/ Hand cards: 2/Gauge: 2
"This will finish it." Garga's cyclone mode card appeared behind him again, turning straight up and sideways once more. "TRIPLE ATTACK!" Garga shouted with the intention of ending the Buddyfight.
"I'm not giving up, Yuga. I cast." The opponent held up a card to Garga's attack. "Phoenix Wall!" He shouted, reducing the damage from Garga's attack.

Garga retreated back to his pillar as Yuga made another order. "Gardog, attack the fighter." Yuga ordered.
"You got it, Dog!" Gardog dashed towards the opponent and leapt up with the intention of taking a bit out of the opponent. "Take this, Dog!" Gardog shouted with his teeth barred.
"I cast, Insanity Circle! I nullify the attack, and gain one life." The opponent said with a smirk.

"What?!" The opponent cried out as Yuga brought the cutlass down on him. "AH!"
Opponent: Life points: 3 - 2 = 1/ Hand cards: 0/Gauge: 2
"Dang it, I don't have any cards left to defend myself with." The opponent despaired.
"Gardog, seize the victory." Yuga declared.
"With gusto, Dog." Gardog shouted in excitement. "Get a load of my fangs, Dog." He said as he brought his fangs down on the opponent.

Game End
Winner: Yuga Mikado
A little while after the Buddyfight ended, Yuga and his opponent were outside the stadium talking with each other. "Thanks a ton for the buddyfight, Yuga, I've always wanted to fight against the Deity Dragon Tribe ever since I first saw it and your victory over Ramna in the tournament all that time ago." The opponent said quickly.
"Thanks, and I've always wanted to fight using the Garcutlass, so I guess it worked out for the both of us." Yuga said.
"Alright then, gotta head home now, have a nice day." The opponent said before walking down a flight of stairs that lead to the stadium that they fought in.
"You stay safe out there." Yuga told him.
"Big bro."
Hey Yuga."
Yuga and Garga turned to face two other young boys that were walking towards him.
The first was a young, short boy who had pink hair, orangish-red eyes, and was wearing a white shirt with three colors in the center that made up a circle on the center, as well as dark cobalt pants.
The second was much taller, yet still young, boy who has orange-brown hair in the shape of an upward-facing crescent, and gray eyes. He was wearing a white-collared shirt, with a yellow jacket tied over it. He was also wearing a beige hat.
These two were Haru Mikado and Ranma Kakogawa, Yuga's brother and best friend resectively.
"That was heck of Buddyfight you just had, don't you think?" Ramna asked.
"I think it was awesome." Haru said excitedly raising his arms upward.
"I found the fight to be enjoyable as well." A card flew out of Ranma's pocket and, soon after, a monster sigil appeared around it, causing a monster to appear from it, it appeared to be a phantom-like monster with grey horns surrounding green eyes above a black mouth with jagged fangs in it.
This was the the concealed form of Vile Demonic Dragon, Vanity Husk Destroyer, or Destroyer for short, Ranma's buddy, and a messanger from Lost World.
"The fact that there's still someone in this day and age of Buddyfight using a deck like that shows the boys dedication ot his cards, I feel." Destroyer said.
"So you did find it interesting, Destroyer?" Garga asked the resident of Lost World.
"Indeed." Destroyer answered.
"Looks like your starting to open up a little more, huh, Destroyer?" Yuga remarked, earning a look from Destroyer.
Destroyer thought about that and answered. "It would seem so." The dragon said while looking up to the sky.
"For share, I know you guys would be here." A tough sounding voice noted their prescence.
"Hello there." The polite voice of a young boy greeted them.
"Hello to you guys too, Garga and Destroyer." A young girl's voice called out to the two dragons.
They turned to the direction of the voices and saw a group of people approaching them with two dragons and a small black and light blue cat approaching them.
The tough voice belonged to a young boy who has light tanned skin with a small scar on left cheek and a blue headband on his forehead. He has green spiky yet wavy hair with three spiky bangs which is fashioned over and in front of his headband while two spikes in the back are curved upward looking like horns. He also wears a blue and white zipper jacket over a red t-shirt with red finger-free gloves. He wears brown pants with red details, and red socks worn under dark brown and light yellow tennis sneakers.
This was Masato Rikuo, the Ace of Sports.
The polite voice belonged to another young boy who has platinum blonde hair; with four different spikes going in different directions, while the rest of his hair flows downward. He has a bright yellow star-shaped birthmark in the center of his forehead, and bright blue eyes. He is always seen with a serious look on his face. He wears a gold-trimmed grey long coat, with white and cyan accents. On his cuffs is a constellation. His shoes are formal with a white and gold coloration.
This was Subaru Hoshiyomi, the Ace of Study.
The young girl's voice belonged to a girl that has purple hair that reaches down to her shoulders with two bells attached and the top looks to be shaped like cat ears being held up by two clips. She has white skin and blue eyes, and she wears a sailor uniform with black and gold trims and a pastel pink skirt that reaches barely above her knees wearing red boots that go above her ankles.
This was Miko Mikono, a childhood friend of Yuga.
The dragon that was by Subaru was a small yellow bird with a head armor with an large arrow head-like blade, a golden four-star cross, pink talons and its eyes are big and teal, and it has a teal four-star cross on his chest.
This was Skyseer Ardent Dragon, Cross Farnase Astrologia, or Cross for short, Subaru's buddy from Star Dragon Dragon.
The dragon that was by Masato was a bipedal red dragon that has dark maroon and pink pupils with yellow sclera, it also had two upper horns that are bigger than the bottom, as well as a sharp grey horn with yellow highlights on his forehead.
This was Rumbling Thunderaxe, Agito, or Agito for short, Masato's buddy from Ancient World.
The small black cat had blue tips on her paws and tail. Her eyes are yellow and red, but when her eyes are closed, she has red eyeliner. She wears a bell collar around her neck and still wears her sun crown on top of her head. The inside of her ears are red with blue spots. She also have two white spots on her forehead.
This was Electrodeity of Light, Amaterasu, Miko's buddy from Katana World.
"It's a pleasure to meet you while the day is young, Yuga, Ranma, Haru." Subaru politely greeted them.
"Indeed." Cross agreed with Subaru.
"Yeah, we've actually been looking for you guys, so when Ranma told us you were having a buddyfight at this stadium, we came be as soon as we could so we wouldn't miss you." Masato told them.
"So it all works out that we were able to catch you guys right here." Agito added.
"Wait, why would you need to see us." Ranma asked.
"You could've just called us, couldn't you?" Haru asked as well.
"Maybe, but that would ruin the surprise a bit." Miko answered.
"Surprise?" Yuga repeated.
"Why don't you tell them what you told us, Subura." Ameterasu asked of Subaru.
"Alright, you see we were talking at Miko's Cafe, when the subject of our living quarters came up." Subaru began explaining.
"It was at that moment where we don't exactly know much about where we live." Masato picked up.
"So we decided that we ought to try and get to know the places where we live, you know?" Miko asked.
Yuga, Haru, and Ranma looked at each other before looking back at the three of them. "Sure thing, that sounds like a nice idea." Yuga asked.
"It would be nice to see where you guys live, but..." Ranma then had a thought. "Come to think about, I don't think we even heard a trace about what life at home is like or you guys." Ranma commented.
"That's silly, I'm that when we..." Miko slowly stopped talking as she realized something. "Well, there was th- I mean the- Uhhh." Miko pointed her finger up as she thought hard on the subject.
"Have we litterally never talked about what our houses are like?" Masato asked.
"It would appear so." Subaru answered with his hand on his chin. "Why don't we start with my home first." Subaru suggested.
"Alright then, if we've never seen each other's houses, then now's a good time to do so." Yuga said, pumping his fist into the air.
(A little while later, At Subaru's house...)
Subaru had his eyes closed as the rest of the group stared at his house in shock, or rather...
"YOUR HOUSE IS A MANSION!" They all shouted in confusion.
"I know you look all fancy and formal and all, but I never thought that your house would be this gigantic in the time we've known you." Agito commented.
"That makes two of us." Ranma added in his shock.
"Make it three." Ameterasu pitched in.
"Four." Miko did so too.
Subaru merely smiled at this. "It's quite alright, most new people and delivery people that come by here usually have the same reaction." Subaru said while walking ahead. "Shall I show you around?" Subaru asked.
Everyone was thrown for a loop at the fact that Subaru's house was a mansion, so they couldn't respond immediately.
everyone except Yuga at least. "Of course, I've never seen a mansion this close before, let's check it out." Yuga said walking up to the mansion's doors.
Subaru opened the front doors and everyone was able to get a good look inside. The main hallway to the building had white tiled floors with a red carpet rolling down the stairs that were in front of the main doors, the stairs had yellow railing on the sides. and there were four dours in the room leading to the rest of the mansion, two on the upper part where the stairs lead to, and two on the ground floor. And there was a giant chandelier hanging from the ceiling of the center of the room.
"Wow." Miko said in awe at the sight.
"This is amazing." Ranma said.
"For share, it's so surreal." Masato agreed.
"You must quite the subject if your family was able to accumulate this much wealth, Subaru." Garga commented.
"Indeed, his family had this mansion to their name even before Subaru was born, so he's had time to get accustomed to it." Cross told them.
"But nevermind that. Why don't I show you the highlights." Subaru gestured them all to follow as he walked his way to a door on the side of the ground floor.
(Twenty minutes later...)
After Subaru show'd them around his mansion of a home, they stopped for a break in a garden that was behind the mansion on a terrace that had chairs and table for them.
"This place is amazing, it has everything a man can dream about to a perfect degree." Ranma said.
"I liked the kitchen, it's so first class, you can only dream of getting something like that." Miko commented.
"I admittedly liked the exercise room the most, I could just see how good that exercise equipment is at a glance." Masato added.
"Your home is really impressive, Subaru." Yuga said to him.
"It's awesome." Haru added.
"Thank you." The Ace of Study thanked his friends.
They stopped talking for a little bit, and in that time, a small breeze blew by them, calming the excitable atmosphere.
"Ah, get a load of that breeze." Ranma commented on the soothing atmosphere.
"Yeah, it's enough to calm anyone down." Masato added.
"You know, this atmosphere makes me think of the Buddyfighter Play-Offs and how far we've come as friends." Miko said, reminiscing on the tournament in question.
It's been about one year since the finale of the Ace Buddyfighter Play-Offs tournament, and things have changed a lot since then.
"Yeah, not to mention that there was that company that brought core deck cases back to this generation and combined it with the tech we've currently got, what was the reason for that again?" Ranma asked.
"The company in question said that it was to help make the fights more immersive, anytime, anywhere, to some degree." Subaru answered.
"And to bring fighter and monster more closer together, since the purpose behind the original core deck cases was to make the game itself more alive, I'd say it was a good idea for them to do this." Masato commented.
"Yeah, oh, wait a minute, wasn't the company that brought them back ca-" Garga was talking until he felt something was wrong. "What the." He muttered.
"Huh, Garga?" Yuga took notice of his look and silence.
Garga turned and looked to the sky, with Destroyer and even Ameterasu following his lead. "Did either of you feel that?" Garga asked to the two monsters.
"Indeed." Ameterasu answered.
"I know that feeling anywhere." Destroyer said grimly.
"Destroyer?" Ranma wondered.
"What's worng, guys?" Yuga asked.
"There's a noticable ripple of power in the space between dimensions." Destroyer explained.
"And whatever caused it, it's coming here." Garga told them, putting the other monsters and humans on edge.
"What?" Masato asked.
"That's not good." Subaru grimaced.
Cross and Agito looked to each other leapt forward by the three monsters, in position for whatever might come by.
All of the sudden, a large, swirling, white portal appeared above the garden everyone was in. "What the heck?" Ranma shouted.
"Everyone, get back." Garga shouted before going in his true form, with his weapons at the ready. "Destroyer, be ready for whatever may come up, the rest of you, be prepared to take the others and run of it." Garga ordered.
"Right." The other monsters responded.
Nobody moved out of slight fear and worry, wondering what this portal was here for, until something finally came out.
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!" A girlish scream echoed through the tense atmosphere as a teenage boy fell out of the portal and faceplanted into the ground below the portal. "Ouch" The boy said with his voice barely audible.
"-AAAAAUUUUUNNNNNEEEEE!" Another voice shrieked in what sounded like terror as another girl with a red hair fell from the portal and on top of the boy.
Barely three seconds pass by and all of the sudden, the portal began to rain teenagers of various colors with the majority of them being female, with the last one having what seemed to be a long red cloak around her neck as she fell on to of the pile of teenagers, with the boy that first fell of it speaking up as a result of it. "Ouch, again." The boy managed to say through all the people piled on top of him.
"Dammit, what happened." A girl dressed in white asked.
"Who's touching my butt." A ginger-haired girl asked.
A girl with hair and eyes that made her look like a living embodiment of neopolitan ice cream tried to squeeze and wiggle her way out of the pile.
"I feel like I got his by a bullhead or something." A teenage girl with long blond hair asked.
"I'm so going to kill whatever did that to us." A girl with jet black hair and a red dress squeaked out.
The girl on top of the pile held her head in slight pain as she looked forward and saw Garga in a daze, but when she realized she was looking at a dragon with tons of weapons behind it.
"AAAAAAAHHHHHH!" She screamed. "A giant monster!" Ruby shouted in panic while pointing at Garga, catching everyone in the pile's attention.
They all looked at the Deity of Combat in question and shrieked in terror at the sight of the weapons.
Yuga, not thinking twice, ran between Garga and the group of teens. "Hey, hey, it's alright, you don't have to worry, Garga is a nice monster." Yuga tried to reassure them.
"Huh?" All of the teenagers immediately stopped screaming and looked at Yuga in confusion.
"Yuga?" Subaru asked.
"Uh..." The girl in the red cloak looked around her and the others she arrived with in confusion as she gains a confused look, which she turned to Yuga.
The girl in the red cloak faced Yuga and slowly walked toward the Ace of Games.
"Ruby, be careful." A teenage girl with long blond hair warned the girl.
The girl, now identified as Ruby, walked up to Yuga, her gaze switching between the boy and Garga, who was right behind Yuga.
"Ummm... Do you know where we are?" Ruby asked meekly.
...
There you have it people, a brand new project of mine.
Okay, I'll be honest, this isn't EITHER of what I promised in my chapter before this one, but I decided to go with this idea of a story, after some brain storming alongside a brand new assistance man on the subject: Sunset Screwball, a cool guy with great ideas.
I was originally planning on making a RWBY X YuGiOh fanfic with a unique premise that I doubt has been done before, but I decided on this to be my card game anime crossover story instead of that one.
I hope you like this double release of a story, because the next chapter is DEFINITELY going to be for Watching The Multiverse... or a little add on for the chapter, because I plan on taking this story SUPER seriously.
P.S. I'll be honest once more, the titile is a bit on the nose, but that's because this continuity of RWBY X card game is going to be in multiple volumes.
