One year later.

Hermione's POV

I knock on the front door of Malfoy Manor. The door swings open. Hello, I call out. Granger, what are you doing here, a gruff voice asks me. The ministry sent me here to see how you're doing after the war and plus I have some questions to ask you, I reply. What if I don't do that, the gruff voice responds. You'll get a one-way ticket to Azkaban and it will be revealed that you were a death eater, I explain. Fuck, meet me by the front door, the voice says. I hear heavy footsteps come closer. You sound like you have a cold or something, are you feeling ok, I ask him. Yeah, he says clearing his throat. Lumos, I say. My wand lights up. Come into the light, I tell him. He steps forward. I gasp. What happened to you, I ask him. Some old woman came to the manor last year and transformed into an enchantress and cursed me into a beast, my mother became a teapot and our house-elves have become plates and silverware, he explains. There has to be some way to break the curse, I say. There is a way but I highly doubt it'll work, he tells me. What is the way, I ask him. He sighs. I need to fall in love with someone and earn their love in return to break the spell, he explains. I'll try and help as much as I can, I say. He nods. How are you doing Granger, he asks me. Me, I say confused. He nods. I mean I'm doing ok considering that I sent my parents to Australia before the war and erased their memories so they won't remember me if I ever find them, I say sadly. This war messed everything up, he states. I nod slowly, yeah it ruined my relationship with Ron, I say. What do you mean ruined, he asks me. When the Weasley's lost Fred in the war, Ron wanted to move back into the Burrow until Mrs. Weasley was over Fred's death, I say sighing. That doesn't mean he needs to break up with you, he replies. Who are you and what have you done with the real Draco Malfoy, I say. I am the real Draco Malfoy, I've just changed, he states. I sigh and shake my head. What's wrong, he asks me. I wish the war never happened, I state. Why he says. So many lives were lost, I say softly. He nods. I can tell you miss Uncle Sev, he says slowly. I nod. Potions was one of my favorite classes, I say smiling. Finally, a former student of mine actually liked potions, a voice says from a moving picture. I turn around startled to see a moving picture of Professor Snape himself. I take a deep breath. I'll be back tomorrow afternoon, I tell him. He nods. I'll see you, tomorrow Granger, he says. I wave goodbye and apparate back to my flat and set my stuff down on the ground and collapse onto the couch.
