Ron POV:
"What is going on?!" I couldn't help but demand, turning to Percy. "Who is that man? Who's that friend of yours at Hogwarts who stabbed him?" I felt slightly stupid for asking such a question. A friend of Percy's who is in the "Green House"? From this, and the side information we knew, there was already the main suspect. Percy slightly pursued his lips. "...I honestly do not remember. I think Annabeth would be better in this scenario than me,"
"Well, she isn't here," Harry said. "So again, who is that man?"
"That's one of the reasons why I said Annabeth would be better in this situation than me because I don't remember," Percy said, lightly rubbing his head for a moment. "But one thing I can say, he might not be a man at all,"
"I say it's something similar to a werewolf by his companions," Harry suggested. "I thought the ministry captured most of the werewolves who allied themselves with Voldemort during the wizarding war?"
"Clearly not all of them, but this pack might not have been allied with him at all," I responded.
"True," Harry agreed. "We never encountered them before, and knowing that Percy, you weren't aware of Voldemort means that his rein never spread to America. So, I'm guessing those werewolves are Americain since they also know you,"
"They were allies of Dirt Face," Percy confessed, then continued somewhat sheepishly. "I don't know how or why they're here either, though their purpose shouldn't be anything good,"
"Fighting them won't be too much of a problem for us though. Look they can barely come closer to the fire, and there's only like 10 of them. We'll just cast some quick spells then head back and help Hogwarts. I'm sure Dumbledore and the other teachers can handle a pack of wolves,"
"L!" Percy suddenly said. "I don't remember too many specifics, but I remember he's a Lycanthrope, and his name starts with L."
"You could have just said werewolf," I reminded him.
"Lycan, Lyron, Lycaon! His name is Lycaon!" Percy continued.
"His name isn't very important right now," Harry said. "Let's just get rid of these. Petrificus totalus!" A small light emerged from the tip of his wand however completely passed through. "What?" I asked. Together we cast a couple more spells until Percy told us to stop. "They won't work,"
"Yeah, that's obvious! What do you suggest we do then? We can't continue to cast fire at them, can we? It just makes them move back! I don't understand, I clearly remember that spells should work on werewolves. Do you think got magic immunity too?"
"Maybe," Percy responded. He brought out a whistle from his pocket and blew in it loudly. Soon bounding towards us was Mrs. O'Leary. The werewolves changed their attacks to her instead, but Mrs. O'Leary didn't seem to mind taking some time to thoroughly dispose of them before coming up to Percy, her tail wagging. "Huh?" I asked as Percy coddled the hellhound. "How did you-"
"Ask questions later," Percy said, already climbing on Mrs. O'Leary's back, extending an arm for us, gesturing for us to climb up as well. "Bring us to the nearest Hogwarts gate," I knew from studying hellhounds that they were fast, however riding one truly gave me a first-hand experience, and I wasn't sure what to say about it. Within a few minutes, we were at the gates of Hogwarts. "Thanks, girl," Percy gave Mrs. O'Leary a short hug. "We can't win the fight like this." He told her, then whispered a couple of other words in her ear that Harry and I couldn't catch.
We rushed into Hogwarts where flares of light were appearing all around. The nearest teacher in view was Professor Sprout, the Hufflepuff head and Herbology teacher. She was fending off a couple of werewolves, her brows slightly creased as she mainly continued to cast the shield charm. Hogwarts already had trouble defending against beings that magic did not affect and with the recent virus, none of the teachers had managed to find a solution in the short time they were concentrating on the student's health either. This is truly one of the weirdest Hogwarts years so far, I thought internally.
"Students!" She exclaimed, catching sight of us. "Head back to the common rooms! The teachers will handle this, you students need to be safe! This is an unfamiliar situation!"
"Fire works on them!" We cried, each using the fire-making spell to drive off some werewolves. Although they only retreated slightly, it was still better than nothing. "Head back to the common rooms!" Professor Sprout repeated. "The teachers will handle this, you students need to be safe! Make sure other students are safe if you can, tell them to go to their common rooms!" Shortly discussing with each other, we headed in different directions. Harry going North, Percy heading west, while I went eastwards.
Continuing to rush about, I encountered several teachers as well as instructed several students I met along the way to return to their common rooms. Although a grand amount of the Hogwarts students population was sick with the virus, the school still had a large number of students remaining. Soon, I found my way to the basement where I met Draco Malfoy. "Weasley," He snorted. "What are you doing near the Slytherin common room?"
"Don't think you're special," I retorted. "I didn't come here especially for Slytherin. I'm just warning any students in the east about the werewolf attack, and to head back to their common room. I just happened to pass by one of the staircases that lead me here, take the warning and just go back to your common room."
"And you think you can tell me what to do?"
"You are very stupid, you know that!" I shouted. "You won't take good advice when you hear it, Malfoy!"
"And you think I'm going to waste any more time here talking to someone with your personality? Forget it, I'm going up and helping."
"You - helping?"
"What? There are still Slytherin students out there."
"Oh yeah, after all, your buddy Nico had something to do with this,"
Malfoy sneered. "Prejudice can make someone come up with the most absurd lies at times. It's Di Angelo's first year at Hogwarts, he's also a friend of Jackson, are you going to make him your new scapegoat? This time, us Slytherins are as ignorant about this as you,"
"You don't even know him that well. You wouldn't say that if you heard what that werewolf man said. Where is Nico anyway?"
"Now you have to monitor him? A while ago, he got up and said he had to go find Jackson and Chase, anything wrong with that since you Gryffindors are all heroic warriors,"
